We had a wonderful trip. Met some of the neighbors, very friendly. What a lovely area
View was absolutely stunning. House very clean and kitchen was well stocked. Loved the cupboards and drawers were labeled. The only negative is that the house needs lots of repairs. I

We appreciated so much space to spread out!! Big, well-stocked kitchen. Four comfy bedrooms. Great parking. And proximity to the private beach was wow!!! We were up & down the stairs multiple times every day. Already talking about doing the same thing next year!

We really enjoyed our family weekend here. The neighbors were super friendly and welcoming and the views were amazing. Yes there are stairs going down to the beach, and yes they are steep. But having your own private piece of the waterfront was really nice. The kids loved the water and the waves and we may have decided to quit driving south every summer for the gulf because we just really enjoyed our time here. Thank you!

The house was great, weather was great, private beach was great, lake was great. 79 steps down to beach -a bit of a challenge for 82 yr. olds- BUT- we did just fine- several trips/day.

This is a lovely older home in a quiet neighborhood overlooking Lake Michigan with plenty of space for our whole family of 6 to relax and have fun. There is private access to a beautiful beach where we had room to swim, play, have a bonfire and just enjoy the lake. The only drawback is the 79 step, steep stairway down to the beach. But the trip down is definitely worth it! We all enjoyed our time and wished we could have stayed longer.

Spent four nights in late June 2023. Weather largely did not cooperate but the location was perfect on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Lot of steps down to beach but worth the effort. 5 minutes from downtown St. Joe. Stayed with our two sons, age 15 and 19 and they loved it as well. Large kitchen, comfy beds, lots of space for everyone. We will visit again soon!

This was a wonderful place to say! The beach was private and clean, and the decline rate going out to the water was very gradual. The house was equipped with everything you could need. The check in was a breeze, and the town of Saint Joe has plenty to do! I’ll definitely rent this home again in the future!

The house was old but really well maintained. Loved the quietness and privacy of the house. And I can’t say enough about the beach! So much private beachfront and very few rocks. Nice sand! Water was very nice to swim in also!

a great week on the beach
In my opinion it is a great 40's era house in good condition, roomier than we needed, neat and tidy and with enough provided to make it very livable. The lake-view from atop a bluff was always enjoyable. The weather was good for swimming. Many concrete steps down to the lake was not an issue for us. Nice sandy beach. Incredible privacy, no crowds. It's possible only 6 cars or so passed the property per day.

Sunset Coast lives up to its name!
We had a spectacular week of gorgeous sunsets on a beautiful bluff overlooking our glorious lake! The once-in-a-half-century rainfall, over 3-4 of our 6 days, did make things a bit damp, but it did not dampen our spirits or our appreciation of the beautiful place we were staying. When the rain stopped, and the wind calmed, the swimming was fantastic. Even on the rainiest and stormiest of days, the sky somehow cleared just enough to deliver us an amazing sunset, every single night. I now have the most incredible collection of sunset photos ever! And Karen from Be Our Guest was a gem – someone who seems to really enjoy her work, and enjoys making her guests happy, with kindness, generosity, support, and patience. Someone else commented on the steps to the beach. We loved them! All 79 of them (counted on every trip). Came home stronger. Even the almost four-year-old grandson climbed them every time on his own, without a complaint, and counted them repeatedly – great physical and cognitive exercise for those strong little legs and rapidly growing brain!

Lake Michigan Paradise
This rental was an A+ for our family. The home's many large rooms were perfect for playing games and visiting. The views of the lake from the balcony, the yard, and the deck across the street are fantastic. We had three spectacular sunsets in three nights. The steps (about 80) down to the beach (which are lighted at night!) are close to the home, and the beach at the bottom of the stairs is very private. We were able to take long walks on the beach to the South. Our family group of seven voted unanimously to come back to the same home next summer.

A terrific house for a holiday
This is a terrific property and very well equipped and maintained. We loved the location and the friendly, helpful property managers and owners. A more prominent mention of the 79 steep steps down to the private beach would have been helpful to ensure that we were all aware of that!

Cool house with nice views and private beach. A lot of steps down to beach was a little tough with our 3 year old, but was manageable. Property manager was very helpful and responsive.

Great Beach Getaway
Our family had such a fantastic time here and spent most of our days at the beautiful private beach. It was a bit of a climb up and down the stairs to the beach but it was totally worth it! House was spacious and lovely and we can’t wait to go back soon!

Beautiful location and close to beach
The house was located very close to the lake with easy access to the private beach. The house was older but well maintained and well stocked. It had enough space for 7 people with a big backyard for kids to play. The huge balcony overlooking the lake was used a lot for relaxation and looking at Beautiful sunsets and moonsets. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again

Beautiful location, beach, and neighborhood for a long getaway with our family with front row seats to beautiful sunsets.. Very private home with huge backyard, plenty of living space with ability to easily ride bikes to downtown St Joseph. Pure relaxation from the moment we walked in. Already planning our next trips. Picturesque in every aspect from the home, steps down to the beach, overall charm of your surroundings all create an experience we won’t forget. Enjoyed our 2 weeks.

Classic 50's house retreat with private beach and great views in quiet neighborhood.
The house is nicely refreshed with plenty of room for a family to spread out. A back yard big enough for outdoor play. A fun balcony to relax and watch the lake go by. The lake is 80 stair-steps below, which was fine for us. The water was clear enough for snorkeling on calmer days. Just enough pebbles on the beach to be interesting without interfering with plenty of sand for digging. The beach was very peaceful with occasional strollers wandering by. The only neighboring house is a friendly retired couple with knowledge of the area. Our family all enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful property, beautiful private beach, amazing views in a quiet neighborhood
Our whole family loved this property and our stay! The home is very large, comfortable, and was immaculately clean. The owners have gone to great lengths to ensure that it is well stocked with all the comforts of home and remembered every detail down to laundry soap and K-cups. There are also beach chairs, toys, and bats and balls to use in the lovely back yard. A nice selection of books, puzzles (some even child sized), and board games kept us busy on a rainy day. The beach access is just across the street. With two young children, we were a little wary of all the stairs based on reviews of other properties, but these stairs are concrete and well maintained. So, there was no difficulty in navigating them. The beach is gorgeous! Sunsets over the lake from the front balcony were an added bonus.

Lovely street and perfect beach access
Seven of us enjoyed staying at this house. It is on a great street with amazing Lake Michigan views. Had perfect weather the entire time. House is a little older but it worked out fine.

Perfect
We stayed for a long weekend in August 2017 with our three young kids and it was just perfect for our needs. The house is huge and super clean. The decor is older, but the house and furniture and property has been well cared for. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with all the essentials. We were concerned that our kids wouldn't be able to handle going up and down the stairs to the beach (there are at least 70!) but it wasn't a problem even for the 3 year old. The stairs are steep but in good condition, leading to a really nice little stretch of super-private beach. The drive to activities in St Joe/Benton Harbor is very short. We really had the best time and would highly recommend a stay here!
