The house is lovely; has a cottage feel but very spacious. Two bedrooms down and 4 up. All jack-n-jill bathrooms, but each bedroom had its own sink. Very helpful with a large group. Good size, well stocked kitchen with adjacent dining room. The screened in back porch was a favorite! Next to the pool. Pool was clean and got plenty of sun. Could have used more beach loungers though. Short walk to the beach although the street signs aren’t very clear. Took us a couple times to figure it out. Overall, we had a wonderful stay!!

Faulty wiring - wires coming out of wall with no outlet
Rusty washer, 1/2 bath is in the washroom out back and very hot, lattice on back porch not properly attached l.
Rusty screws protruding from doors, screens on back porch had holes.
Mold in shower, exposed rotting wood around many door facings. I’m sure there is exposed lead paint. We informed the property manager, but no apology or an action taken.
You get it. The house is not safe, especially for children. I was very disappointed.

The house was a great layout for us. We loved the screened porch and pool area, it was perfect to hang out. We spent most of our time at the house on that porch or in the pool. The walk to the beach wasn’t too bad, but we did rent a golf cart to haul all our stuff over.

As long as you're expecting an old-school beach house--sandy & modest, with a grab-bag of kitchen supplies (rather than a multimillion-dollar mansion with granite counters, like those springing up everywhere), you'll have a great time here. Perfect location!! Nice room lay-out: three BR/bathroom/twin BR combos, great for families. NO laundry facilities, which was a surprise with a beach house. Pool is unheated. But dogs are welcome.

Location was great but we were definitely disappointed in the condition of the house for the price we paid. The living room, screened porch, and big dining table are nice but the rest of the house needs a lot of care. The beds are not the most comfortable, the bathrooms really are in need of upgrade. Doors were missing locks and those that did have locks were not much use. The front door and back door handles came off in our hands, the air conditioning leaked through the kitchen ceiling on the second night though this was fixed immediately by the rental company who were great. Then we needed a plumber as the bathtub wouldn't drain - again rental company was great. Location is great and if the house gets some much needed upgrades and some very simple fixes, we might consider going back but not in its current condition. I've rented elsewhere on the island and even though those homes were older too, they were in much better condition. I don't like leaving a negative review but have to be honest with this. Sorry.

Happiest Vacation Ever!
We traveled to St. Simons with all of my family and my parents and my nephews and had the best week ever!!!! We loved spending time on the porch watching the kids swim! The home is delightful and had everything that we could ever need. We felt blessed to get to spend the week at Tabby Quarters!

Beautiful location but disappointed with house
This was a first time in over 10 years, we had a big family vacation. We had 12 people total in our group. My parents, my sisters, and their families. House was big enough for all of us. The property was in a nice area on beautiful St. Simons Island. The locals are very nice and relaxed. The property management company was friendly and helpful. But, the house is run down and does need a lot of work. I saw others reviews that said rustic but this house needs a little more work before I would consider it rustic. The furniture and decorations were fine and could be considered rustic. The walls need painting, the floors, especially on the second floor need to be redone. The floor in the kitchen slanted a little. The door knobs were in bad shape. Locking doors was interesting to say the least. The 4th street access to the beach is really the 3rd street access and that is walking through a grown up swampy area. I recommend walking to the coast guard entrance. All trash cans were completely full when we got there on Saturday. So, we had to hold all of our trash in the back room until Tuesday. Even the recycling bin was full of trash. We had to physically move the pool vacuum every day because it stayed in one place. And we could tell the floors had not been clean. Our feet were all filthy within an hour of us walking barefoot in the house. From reading the owners book, we know it is a work in progress. But, for the amount of money it cost to rent, I believe it should be further along. Will not go to that particular house again but will definitely go to Island again.

Good location.
The bedrooms, living area, and porch were nice. The bathrooms left a lot to be desired. The kitchen was not clean. There was leftover coffee in the coffee pot that was put in one of the cabinets. There were food stains/drips on the inside doors of several of the cabinets. Many of the kitchen items had to be washed before I used them. The pantry was so musty that I didn't put any of our food in there. 4 of us had to start taking allergy medicine after being there one day. The shower heads were dirty. We have stayed on St. Simons every summer for about 20 years, and I've never had a place be dirty like this.

The house was clean and roomy. The pool was wonderful. My grandchildren swam all the time. The walking access to the beach was not a great trek. We drove to the public accesses instead. The only bad thing about the house was all the gnats. We will definitely stay there again!

We stayed here with our wedding party the weekend of our wedding. It was perfect and offered enough space and flexibility for everyone. The pool and sunroom were where we spent most of our time. It's fairly close to everything and we enjoyed that we could get to anything we wanted in a short drive. The walk to downtown St simons was too far for us so we may have prefered something close to town.

This house is kitschy but cute. We enjoyed the large common area, spent a ton of time on the porch and by the pool and enjoyed the location of the house. We were certainly duped by the description of the house being 3/4 of a block to the beach access and 4 blocks to East Beach as we had never rented on the island. It was a solid 10 minute walk to the beach and totally understandable now that we are more familiar with the island, but we were unprepared. The house could use updates to the plumbing and to the locks on the doors. Overall it was a great experience.

This home was extremely dirty. It is old inside but that was not the cause. In addition, it was extremely dangerous. In order to get out of the house you had to have a key. This means if there is a fire, you are trapped. The door knob of the side door came off as we were trying to exit. The dining room rug was dangerous because it needs to be thrown away, The showers cannot be regulated. Hot and cold water comes out at different times without touching it. The pictures makes this house new and clean but it was not. Based on the condition of the house, it was overpriced.

Great House & Location!
Visited for a week in March with some friends and had a great time! It's an easy walk to the beach, and the screened porch was perfect for relaxing on. The pool was nice, too- great for hanging out by while waiting for everyone to get ready in the mornings, and for taking a dip in in the evenings. The large kitchen and dining table made it easy to cook meals in the house- saved a bit of money from not having to eat out every night. Perfect vacation!

Our family had relaxing and fun-filled vacation a few weeks ago. This home is spacious, charming and cozy. It really has everything you need while on vacation. The furnishings are abundant and so pretty. With so many bedrooms and baths, everyone was able to spread out. Loved the pool!

Perfect Family Beach Cottage
When we arrived, we were greeted by a laid back beach cottage. We had several small children with us, and it was perfect for young families. The rooms were comfortable, and clean. The kitchen was well appointed. The living room was cozy, and could seat everyone comfortably. The screened in porch was equally as comfortable. The proximity to the beach was great. If you are looking for a laid back and comfortable place to stay on the island. This is the place to be, we will be visiting again in the future.

Fantastic Fourth Of July on Fourth Street!
The minute we stepped into the house, we all breathed a sigh of relief...jackpot! The house was even greater in person! We were two families that were so comfortable with the layout of the space. The home is so well maintained, and oh my goodness, EVERYTHING was clean!!!!!!! The house has a perfect location in East Beach. We felt like we were a part of everything during our stay. It is close to the Coast Guard beach entrance. The owners really have thought a lot about what the renters may need, a rolling cart for the beach, two refrigerators, and shabby-chic comfortable furnishings. RENT this property, you will be so happy you did!

This St Simons property was comfortable, cute on interior and ideal for our July 4th needs. The room sizes were fine and slept 12 comfortably. The property was clean and generally well maintained.
The location was good as well to access restaurants and other activities however the beach access was approx a 10 minute walk.
For a family looking for a comfortable beach rental this property is recommended.

Great house for large group/gathering. Older "real" beach home with a lot of room. Each 2 bedrooms shares a bath with a sink in each room. Not a fancy, fussy house but comfortable with a lot of southern charm. Close walking distance to 3rd street beach access walkway. Really nice screened porch and charcoal grill. Definitely a good deal!
