It was a quiet, spacious place.
Beautiful view

The view alone is worth every penny. We were he from Florida for my brother’s wedding. The property is beautiful! We enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning and hiked down to the river to cool off and fish in the afternoons. Would stay again!
10.0 / 10.0
We had 6 adults and 4 children stay here. Plenty of beds, plenty of room for the little ones to play inside and out. Great location, dining, fishing, golf, the shops and hanging out at the Mill Pond all just a few minutes away. FYI-Keep an eye on children there is a cliff just beyond the back deck.

A good location and family home base for exploring the surrounding Graeagle area in spring and early summer, but it is in need of some updates. We were fortunate that the temperatures didn’t get above 85 because there are only fans in the house. The two king beds downstairs are indented from use and not comfortable. The bbq was also in need of an upgrade and was difficult to use. New beds and bbq would greatly improve this property.

Nice kitchen/dining. Great room too. Its really a 2 bedroom with overflow beds upstairs. Great owners, good family place.

We plan to come back! We loved the view, convenient location (a little tricky to find for the first time). The home was really comfortable, and we all loved the '70's vibe. Very well supplied with kitchen tools, bbq tools, and pretty much everything we needed. It truly felt like a family home.

Beautiful location. Inside of the home immaculate. Out deck and small refrigerator need attention. BBQ needs ro be replaced, but made it work. Perfect rental for family reunion.

The rustic River House was a great spot to stay for our golf tournament weekend. It's an old and quirky house but it was perfect for what we needed. The location is somewhat isolated and the views from the backyard were very nice. It's a short walk down to the local bar and easy access to get to the many golf courses in the area.

Had a wonderful stay at the cliff house in Graeagle for our friends 60th birthday. We took advantage of the many great golf courses and found some excellent fishing spots. Caught several rainbows right in front of the house. River access is a bit of a hike but the trail is well maintained and there is also access at the nearby bridge. House is a little dated but everything works fine and the views are amazing. Had a storm roll through on the last night and enjoyed watching it from the porch. Had several meals out and everyone was super helpful and accommodating. Check in advance as several places required reservations but all made space and got us in.
There was a strong smell of kerosene from the heater that the owner may want to check out.
All in all we had a great experience and will be back for one of our next golf/fishing trips.

TV in master bedroom did not work and could only use pay cable stations. Sound on TV in living room was horrible could not turn it up had to use closed caption. Last year we complained about the same issue, and it still has not been corrected. No fuel for barbecue and smelled like carpet cleaning had just taken place. Will not rent again if TV not taken care of.

Nice property, great in Summer, a little chilly in crisp late fall, but totally serviceable

The house was as advertised. The view was great. The problem was the small bugs in the master bath room and bedroom floor. There were 50 plus of these small flying bugs. We cleaned the bath tub and they were back the next day. No where else in the house.

Loved this house. Throwback to the 70's....but super comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. Kitchen well-equipped. Outside grill was clean and ready to use. Plenty of deck seating and a great view of the River. Corn-hole game was a nice touch. Close to everything that's awesome about the Lost Sierras. Would book again.

Can’t beat that view! House isn’t updated. Needs some updates like broken down dining room table. Living room TV has issues with clear audio, so needing captions to know what is being said. Too much clutter in kitchen cabinets leaving little room for the guests to put away their things. Stuff on cabinets is not practical for guests taking up space. But we absolutely love the upstairs huge space for our 6 kids to take up. Master king bed needs to be more firm - too soft - you tend to roll to edge. Love playing corn-hole they provide. You have to have your own ROKU app on phone to watch TV - lower price for this home in comparison to nicer large homes that sleep 10-12. Close to Plumas Golf Course - a little over a mile away. Close to town - under 2 miles. Little store but 20 miles to a true grocery store.

Beautiful view, with a homey lived in feeling. House was clean with a relaxed feeling, like the grandparents house. Why the 3 stars then? Because I cant give it a 3.5. Keep reading.
Pros: Central location in Greagle, makes a great jumping off point for daily adventures, 1 hour to Reno, 1 hour to Truckee... Can fit / enterain a larger group. Perfect for a large family (without littles) or multi family rental. Great internet connection and yard for activities. Close to restaurants and bar, and public land for actual river acess. Wildlife feels comfortable in the yard, as there was a large Doe that would arrive mid morning and bed in the front yard till late afternoon before grazing back down to the river.
Cons: The "Private River acess" (One of the main reasons we booked this property) advertised in the listing is not appropriate for the vast majority of people. Being a steep, overgrown, single track trail, that was under construction during our visit (large pile of rocks in the middle of one section), it appeared to lead to an overgrown section of the river and no "beach". We quickly discovered that our small children wouldn't be using this "access" nor would anyone whom has a limitation or a concern about bush wacking your way down to the water. The house although homey and comfortable poses some issues if you bring young kids, things like a large stone hearth and staircase up stairs without a railing. And although the yard is good size there are alot of overgrown bushes and trees for toys and other items to dissapear into. Some of the furniture and appliances are in need of replacing/ repair.
Overall this house could be GREAT, rather than just good. I feel like the listing could use some updates/ honesty.

High school friends reunite
We came to the area for a dear friends daughters wedding. We enjoyed the beautiful views, the funky decor and utilizing the sporting equipment on the expansive front lawn. The home had plenty of room and the kitchen had everything we need for cooking group meals. We also loved the trail down yo the river. Thanks for making our trip memorable!

We came to Greagle for a family wedding and needed a place to house our family. The location was perfect for the time we were there. House was great for our crew and getting 10 people ready for a wedding.

Daughters Wedding
It was nice!! Definitely need to watch your children if you have any because of the cliff. If there is a urn in the home. I think that is kinda gross. The tv in the master bedroom we couldn’t get it to work. I think it is missing a second remote because the front room has 2 and the bedroom only has 1. Need better cutlery set or suggest people to bring their own. Knives were not good at all.

Comfortable stay in the gold country
Our stay day was so enjoyable! The house was perfect for a family vacation. Even though there was a lot of smoke from the Dixie fire, there was plenty to do. The upstairs combination bedroom and playroom was perfect for the kids. And the kids absolutely loved the beautiful yard. The house is close to many educational and fun lakes, rivers, museums and restaurants. We want to come back and enjoy the lovely views of the Feather River and Canyon direct leave below the house.

A friendly family house
Great location, set off with no visible neighbors. Nice house with pretty well stocked kitchen. A few terrific pieces of furniture. Probably better in summer.when you can enjoy the deck and lawn furniture.
The big negative is the second bedroom, where we stayed. There are no window coverings and a vinyl floor with no area rugs. A stopper for us.

Absolutely Beautiful Home & Property
Loved the house, the property and the view. House is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Disappointed that the hot tub wasn't working though - this was one of the main reasons that I selected the house in the first place.

Great house
This house is great. The view of the river is spectacular. Patio area and hot tub are great and there's a big grass area to go play on. Only negative was the wifi went out the 1st day and the master bath shower curtain was torn and mildewy. I still give it 5 stars.
Trying to get things answered by VACASA is awful however. They don't return emails and the phone number they give is for emergency only.

“I was one of seven ladies who spent their annual “girl’s weekend” this past weekend at this location. Beds were great as was the location. Early check-in was offered to us the night before we were to arrive, so that was a plus. The rooms were large and welcoming. The view was incredible.
However, I was NOT notified that this property was experiencing problems with the water! There was a note posted on the refrigerator telling all of us “they were experiencing low water levels in their well”. Not only was the water table low, but the water had a bad odor and taste. We were asked to conserve, which we did, but IF we had had prior notice (as the owners did), we would have cancelled.
Also, all of us were looking forward to having evening fires in the living room fireplace-there was another note “Out of order-please do not use”. That’s half of the fun-an evening fire on chilled evenings in the mountains!! Again, this information was NOT shared with me prior to our check-in on Wednesday. In all fairness, there was a wood stove in the kitchen area, but that’s not how the property was advertised. We discovered that one of the dining room chairs was broken, too.
One last thing-we we’re not able to leave our trash and recycling in the outdoor bins, as they were already filled before we arrived. So, because of the evidence of recent bear activity near the deck, we left our garbage in the kitchen. The kitchen cupboards contained the families left-over items which made for zero room for any of our cooking items to be stored. (The cupboards/drawers need to be completely cleaned and the antiques utensils removed).
This is a yearly retreat for all of us and we were hoping to make this property our annual destination. The descriptions given were very misleading.
IF you are thinking of renting this home, make sure you negotiate the nightly price first.
Everyone in our group has used VRBO when we travel with our families, so each of us expects to receive the same standards wherever we visit.

Caution-a water issue and fireplace “out of order”
We enjoyed our stay at this property, however, we were not notified that the property was having an issue with their well-the water level was low therefore the water was not drinkable and had a very bad odor. We saw a note on the refrigerator after we checked in.
Also, the fireplace had another note on it stating “Out of order, please do not use”. The evenings were cold and we were looking forward to a fire-bad advertising on their part.
Check to see if these items have been corrected prior to your renting this property.

Gorgrous view and wonderful accomodations
This home is a great destination for friends and families. A little cold to start but ample heating once you get it on. The hot tub was a huge plus, with mountain views during the day and stary nights. Make sure you stop by the Brewers Lair for a pint and some casual games.

Relaxation to the max
This rental was exactly what we needed for our stay during a family wedding. The house was extremely welcoming and we had everything we could possibly need. Very spacious, with plenty of seating and comfortable beds. We also appreciated the little note to park under the carport, so the squirrels wouldn't drop pine cones on our cars. The view is beautiful, we were able to see deer walking down to the creek each morning, and I loved that we could hike down to the creek ourselves. The large front bay window also gave us a great view of the many deer visiting the front yard. While there are other homes around, the tree cover gives great privacy. It's very conveniently located to many little shops and the just down the street from the Frosty, as well as just a couple minutes from the Corner Barn, where we were attending the wedding. It is very likely that we will be staying here yearly, as my family enjoyed themselves so much.

Beautiful and Relaxing Stay
This house was very comfortable and cozy for me and my family. The deck has a beautiful view and the property is nice and private for enjoying the hot tub in piece. I loved that we could do a little hike down to the creek from our back yard and that we continuously were visited by deer in the front yard. This house is equipped with everything you could need and has very spacious for me and my family. The location is perfect as it isn't too far from shops and the frosty, but doesn't feel surrounded by other houses. My family is already talking about our next visit, and are thinking about making a yearly stay!
