The house was very comfortable and worked well for our group of eight cyclists (ages 60-77) in town for a cycling event— and the host was terrific (very accommodating).
The beds were ALL comfortable (very important) and the house was clean, with 3.5 bathrooms, which is hard to find.
The house is within walking distance to Carson Street in Southside, which was very convenient. It’s located on a very narrow and super steep hill, but there’s plenty of off-street parking (enough space for four or five SUVs). There’s also a nice outdoor space that we enjoyed in the mornings and evenings. It provided lots of privacy despite the houses being very close together.
We all had a great long weekend!

We enjoyed our stay at this property! The house was very clean and the accommodations were very nice! We were very thankful for the off street parking as we had a large van. The hot tub was a big perk!
Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Was a bit concerned when we first pulled up to the property with the surrounding area but immediately felt safe and secure as we entered the property. The sleeping accommodations for our family of 8 adults perfectly. The kitchen was well supplied since we like to cook a big breakfast before beginning our daily adventure. The short walk to Carson street with so many restaurants, bars and shopping choices was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful property in an upcoming neighborhood convenient to both the funky shops and restaurants on Carson Street and the new shops and restaurants near the Hot Metal Bridge. It’s clean and welcoming with a great tropical decor theme. The first floor is open plan with a well equipped kitchen, a dining table, and a comfortable sofa and chairs. It’s great for a group to hang out together. We needed four bedrooms so we were happy to find that they are all separate rooms. The second floor shares a bath and each of the third floor rooms has its own bath. They are comfortable and nicely decorated. The view from the third floor balcony out over Pittsburgh at night is wonderful! We stayed in November so we didn’t have a chance to use the bbq area or the hot tub or the lounge deck, but they’re nicely arranged to enjoy being outside. The host gave clear directions and replied very quickly. We highly recommend this house and would be glad to stay there again.

Everything was as described. In addition to fabulous indoor space an extra touches, we really enjoyed the time outdoors. To have that kind of outdoor space and parking make this one of kind so close to the city sites.

The property was set about 10-12 min from downtown which was great. Our host, Norma, was very responsive to any issues and questions we had. The outdoor sitting area was nice. The area was quiet and there were some great stores and restaurants just a few blocks away. This was within walking distance to one of the 3 rivers in Pittsburg, which made for a great walk. Pittsburg had more hills than we would have guessed and this property is on one of those hills. overall we had a great stay!

We needed a place for 7 of us who were attending the annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. Four of us had collector-quality cars that required off-street parking. This house and it’s large paved drive provided all we needed. The property had just the right amount of indoor space including a good-sized, well supplied kitchen as well as two lovely outdoor areas for socializing. The hilly neighborhood is in transition with some commercial properties, a few nicely redone homes, a few striking new ones and many residencies that run down and not well maintained. Nearby, Carson Street has a fun, artsy feel with lots of bars and restaurants. The hill on which the house sits is very narrow and steep. Trying to turn out of the street at the top of the hill was a challenge and led to scraped undercarriages and in one case a wheel coming off the ground. Despite these shortcomings we very much enjoyed our stay.

The home provided just the number of bedrooms (4) and bathrooms (3.5) to make our party of 6 comfortable with enjoyable. The washer /dryer were essential to keeping our basketball uniforms clean & ready-to-use each day. Beds were compfy and kitchen was well-stocked with cooking essentials. Host was super responsive and pleasant. It was a great stay!

We gathered three plus generations to celebrate my daughter’s graduation from Carnegie Mellon University. We had a fabulous time. Kitchen is well stocked, outdoor space is fabulous- my young adult kids LOVED the hot tub. We loved just sitting on the patio and sharing a meal and catching up! Beds are super comfortable- AC and ceiling fans helped with heat. Neighborhood is fun for eats and shopping. Also see a show at City Theater! Easy access to CMU or Shadyside or Squirrel Hill. There are some flights of stairs so be aware if your party has any mobility issues. Norma was a great communicative host!

Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. House is walking distance to many restaurants and bars but far enough away to be quiet. Norma was a great communicator- we had a fantastic time.

I chose this place to host 8 girls for my best friends bachelorette weekend. The home was comfortable and spacious enough for all of us! Location to activities in Pittsburgh was only minutes away. Everyone really enjoyed the outdoor living space, especially the hot tub. Our host made sure our weekend was seamless and enjoyable! I highly recommend and would stay again.

Our family had concert tickets and hockey tickets for the weekend in Pittsburgh. We decided to skip the hotel and find a house. The house is nice…plenty of room for the eight of us. It is off the beaten path but walking distance to some nice restaurants and bars. We were able to Uber into the city but getting Ubers back became an issue. The only other issue was we seemed to run out of hot water fairly quickly. But other then that the place was perfect for us.

We just loved our stay here! The location is nice by Carson Street and easy to get to the Steelers stadium. The home was clean and our teenagers loved the game room. There was plants of room for everyone and the drive way parking was perfect. The hot tub is a fabulous bonus! The host was an amazing communicator and so nice to work with! Highly recommend!

Perfect house; tucked away spot close to everything
This property is fantastic! The house is so nice and comfortable. We stayed with our three adult/college age kids and our two younger children. We had plenty of room, and enjoyed the hot tub and game room. Because of Covid and rain, we did stay in the house a lot and loved it! Norma was always quick to respond with any communication, although we had no problems or questions! Would absolutely stay here again!

Family Gathering
My sisters, brother-in-law, husband, daughter and I stayed at Tropicana for my father’s memorial service weekend. Hosts were extremely responsive with a couple of tiny maintenance issues, and the place was clean and well-stocked. Great, safe, quiet location just uphill enough from the bar scene, but close enough to walk easily to lots of restaurants. We did a tour of some of the steps where our parents trekked in their youth—great views just a short hike uphill.

Great location
We stayed here on our weekend trip to Pittsburgh to see some sights and experience the local area. The location was a short walk from Carson St with tons of shops, bars, and restaurants. It is also a short drive to the downtown attractions. Everything that was needed was at the house and easy to find. It was clean and had great amenities. I would recommend this home to anybody visiting Pittsburgh with a small to medium size group. There was plenty of space for 6 adults with enough room to be comfortable. Thanks!

Volleyball Vacation
Our club volleyball team traveled to Pittsburgh this weekend for a tournament. Four mom/daughter pairs stayed together at the house instead of renting hotel rooms.
It was exactly what we were looking for. There was plenty of room for all of us. The hot tub was great after a long day of games, and the girls had a lot of fun in the basement playing games. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. I would certainly stay here again if we travel back to Pittsburgh!

Excellent gem on the Southside
What a great spot. Beautiful home unexpectedly tucked into the hillside. Large home, lots of comfortable bedrooms, lovely living area and gorgeous backyard space with nice seating, grill and hottub. So many unexpected clever details throughout the property, home beautifully appointed. Large parking pad.
Host very kind and easy to contact. Was the perfect spot for our family to gather to celebrate our sons graduation from Duquesne.

Fantastic New Years Getaway
I cannot say enough good things about this property and Norma's hospitality. She was so accommodating and responsive. The property had everything you could want and was so well organized, complete with a handwritten card and champagne to greet us. I had an amazing, relaxing time with two of my friends. The outdoor hot tub was definitely a highlight. I could not recommend this property more. We will definitely be booking it in the future.

An excellent venue
The property was perfect for us. It was close to our two grandchildren who are students at Pitt and Chatham. It was an easy walk to the restaurants and stores along Carson Street. The patio and game room were perfect for an informal family celebration of our granddaughter's 21st birthday. We enjoyed the hot tube, the air hockey, and all the pac man games. The house was clean and well furnished. The kitchen was well stocked. Norma was avery help[ful, easy to work with, and helped us to fulfill our plans. We hope to stay again on our many trips to Pittsburgh, my home town.

This property was as great as advertised! We really enjoyed the outdoor space and hot tub. The basement game area was fun, also. The location was good for reaching the city, rafting or hiking. We had 4 adults and 4 adult children (20-26) and the space was great for being together!

Home away from home away from home
We couldn't be more pleased with our stay here. The property is as beautiful and charming as they come. As Pittsburgh natives that now live in FL, we loved the decor, convenience to downtown and the awesome off street parking. From beginning to end, Norma was extremely helpful and available for questions. We definitely hope to stay here again when we visit.

Pittsburgh trip
Norma went above and beyond providing touches to make us feel special and our stay to be comfortable, like providing beach towels for the hot tub and snacks for the evening. The large grill allowed us to cook a wonderful meal at the house instead of having to eat out.
Coming in on Josephine Street, Eleanor does not have a street sign. We had to take some very narrow side roads to get in, but once there, we were able to figure out how to get there from Josephine much more easily.
