Stayed for a girls weekend and loved the location to downtown (walkable), it was very clean! We loved waking up, having coffee on the porch and watching the deer, foxes, and other wildlife while we enjoyed a slower morning!

My family loved this property. The house is in town but secluded - surrounded by trees on three sides and set downhill from the road. The feel of being 'one with nature' was enhanced by a family of deer visiting us each morning. The house is uniquely designed - allowing easy visiting, but also space for those who prefer solitude. While we did get out and about everyday, we found ourselves simply enjoying sitting on the porch and around the firepit. In regards to the firepit - plenty of wood provided, but no fire starter or matches could be found. If you plan on cooking - as stated in the description, the kitchen is minimally stocked with cookware and bakeware and not much more than salt and pepper.

We have been staying at this location consistently for the past four years since the pandemic. We visit the area often because I grew up in the area. We have two dogs who come with us because the cost of boarding in our area is so high. It also feels more like home to bring them along.We love the location since it is walking distance to downtown, but remote enough to feel as though you are in the Northern Wisconsin woods. The home is very clean and up to date. The bedrooms are on separate floors, so you can have privacy if you bring guests.My primary love is the wrap around porch. I grew up in a house with such a porch, so I wax nostaligic whenever I can sit on this porch and take in the sound of crickets. There are also many deer in the area, as well as wild turkeys. The use of a garage is a major plus, too.We are already booked for another stay. It is definitely our home away from home in the Galena area.

Property location was great for the proximity to Main St and downtown Galena. The house was nice, clean, and very well kept. The only downside to my wife and I as a protective parents was the separation of the two bedrooms. We all end up staying in the master bedroom, which was still nice.
We brought our Dog, who stayed in the main floor, and he didn't felt left alone with the open ceiling to the master bedroom.
Overall... We definitley enjoy our stay and visit to Galena and plan on coming back.

Tucked away in a wooded setting like a tree house. The home is perched above meeker street, one block to Main Street. The proximity is very close to town but walking would be a challenge due to the very steep streets that you would have to travel. We found the stairs to walk down to town and used them our entire stay. We did not have to drive. There are many stairs probably 3-4 flights, so if this is not a problem for you walking is a great choice. The property is well kept and clean. Wood is provided for the fire pit. There was everything you could want and need for a comfortable stay. The beds were comfortable and the TV had all the streaming services as well as local news from all around the country. A must do is the trolly tour! It is very educational with a terrific guide to show you the area. Must go to Horseshoe Mound Nature and Wildlife area in Galena which is about 20 min drive. Panoramic views of Iowa as well as Mississippi River from high above Galena. The property manager was great and communication was very easy . We loved our stay and will definitely return for a repeat visit.

Our overall experience was wonderful. The house was perfect for our weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. It is very well appointed and in a fantastic location in a very private semi-wooded area, just a few minutes walk to downtown. I could strongly recommend to anyone, especially those with dogs- we brought our 5 yo Beagle, who loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay at this Galena rental. It was very clean and the 2 1/2 bathrooms were great! The wrap around porch was really cute and the fire pit was a special addition to the end of our evenings. There were 5 of us and one of our group tried to use the sofa bed, but it was really bad and uncomfortable, so I would keep that in mind if your group exceeds 4. We were only a couple of blocks from downtown, but because of the steep roads (if you’ve ever been to Galena, you know what I mean), we drove the 2 minute drive to downtown. Very steep driveway, too, but it was worth it because the house is adorable.

This house was wonderful. Very comfortable and inviting, and also extremely clean! It is a short walk to the main Galena strip. A local resident was very nice and showed us there is a path with stairs so you don't have to walk through the street to get to the shopping areas. We even saw a fox, multiple deer, and other wildlife during our stay. The exterior of the house is covered in beautiful ferns and flowers, making for a beautiful view, even with houses close by. Overall a great experience staying here. We will be returning and would recommend to anyone looking!

The house was very clean and spacious. Even though we were all adults staying, I love (as a mom of 2 babies) that they had baby gates and baby silverware for families with kids who are staying there. It was very peaceful just sitting outside by the fire at night and was quite close to Main Street without getting all the traffic. I will say that it wasn’t close enough for us to walk it. Much better to just drive the few minutes, and they even provide a business card for someone to pick you up and drop you off if you plan on drinking or just don’t feel comfortable driving around yourself. Would definitely rent this place again!

Description described the propery to a T. While it would be a 15 minute or so walk to Main Street, we did drive as there was no way our old lady bones could have walked those hills especially with all our shopping bags.. There is a weird noise in the house.when it started raining. Kinda sounds like a weed wacker constantly going.

We are regular guests at this location. It works out perfectly with our two Frenchies. The accommodations are just like home. We came to stay here because I was required to travel to the area for work. The downstairs bedroom worked perfectly as an office for Zoom meetings.During our stay, we had some terrible winter weather with ice. Many people are afraid of the steep driveway under these conditions. However, not to worry! Someone was there right away after one call. They returned to check on the conditions of the driveway the next morning to ensure we could get in and out. The response time was incredible!If you want a convenient location to downtown and a relaxing environment, this location is perfect for any season.

We were a bit disappointed with the media setup at the house. The great room TV is outdated and lacks streaming options beyond Netflix and Prime. Having no access to network programming was a real drag given the below zero temps the weekend we were there and not being able to view what was a big weekend in playoff football. Many rentals follow this pattern of only offering Wi-Fi and smart tvs. We would gladly pay a higher price for a more complete cable tv option at the very least network programming. When you’re stuck inside due to weather or there are major sporting events you need a better option.

This is a great place to stay if you’re looking to spend time in downtown Galena. It was a short walk up the hill after a day of shopping. The home was just as described. It was roomy and the beds were very comfortable. Great for 2 couples who want a little space of their own as each bedroom had a sitting area. We would definitely stay here again.

I booked this house last minute specifically so I could bring my dog. This place is so cute and very pet friendly. My dog appreciated the little couches just for her. The check in and out process and expectations were very reasonable. I would absolutely stay here again.

This is our usual home away from home when staying in Galena. We drove around the Galena Territories this time to see what would be available there, but the Territories are just too far away from everything for our taste. Harrison is a perfect location so we can walk downtown. We stay at this location with our French Bulldogs, who now consider it a second home. It was too hot to sit by the firepit when we were there this time, but we enjoyed being able to grill out on the gas grill and enjoy listening to the cicadas at night. It was absolute peace?
This house has many stairs, so it is not a good choice for people with mobility issues, but we love that aspect. The loft bedroom has a king size bed with one of the most comfortable mattresses in the world. There is a second bedroom and bathroom in the lower level with another deck that is ideal if you wish to travel with another couple. The kitchen is not huge, but it is very well stocked and accessible. We seldom even need to leave for a restaurant while in the area.
The best part is the beautiful sunrises you will see over the town and hills if you are willing to rise early enough. This makes the location ideal.

The house was nicely updated and supplied. The king mattress was ridiculously comfortable. The living room couch was also great. It was nice to only be a four minute drive to downtown. It was a little disappointing that it was impossible to walk to downtown because the roads were too narrow and twisty to be safe if a car came by at the same time. The description said it was possible to walk down the hill in the back, but we couldn't see a path and didn't want to walk in someone's yard. But I didn't want to take a star off for that, since it was a close drive.
