Good communication with Host. Checkin went smoothly. An issue with the water was reported by us and the Host quickly had a plumber assess the issue. The Host also provided a small rebate for our inconvenience. The apt is not quite as vibrant as the picture indicates, however you cannot beat the location and the views from the balcony

Main entrance was very smelly, the apartment itself was tired and there was mold growing in the master shower. Water for flushing toilet in master bathroom was intermittent and sometimes would not flush for an hour or more. Master bathroom shower drained very slowly and would overflow onto the floor. If you plan to rent a car don't stay here. 1 overnight parking in lot was 65.05 euros. The location is excellent. Elevator takes you to the 3rd floor and they you walk up 24 more steps to the apartment. If the apartment and building were cleaner I would be more likely to recommend it.

We are visiting Portugal for the first time and this was a great location. To explore Porto from. Great view also.

The top floor apartment provided wonderful views of Porto, with easy access to the riverfront and excellent restaurants. An elevator to the 3rd floor was very helpful, with stairs to the top floor. The apartment is nicely equipped and decorated and offered a comfortable hang out space on a rainy day to stay in and cook a meal. Very nice stay!

This apartment was spacious and we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It is located within walking distance of the sites, tour pick ups, the riverfront, restaurants. The outdoor balcony overlooked a very picturesque scene. I would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues as you do have to climb around 20 stairs. Wish I could add pictures!

The apartment is exactly as described. The view was lovely and the location was ideal for walking around Porto. There is a Centro cafe next door on the corner - don't miss it! Wonderful warm pastel de nata and good coffee, espresso, etc. Check-in and check-out was easy and Fernanda accommodated our earlier than anticipated arrival in Porto. The warm water came out a little rusty on first use in the ensuite bath, but don't worry - it was totally fine after that. Most likely it had just not been used recently. It was difficult to have only 1 key for two couples as we didn't always stay together for the entire day, but we figured it out. :) NOTE: The elevator is only to the 3rd floor so you must walk up one flight of stairs. Many people miss this and think they have elevator service to the apartment. The one flight is not too long or too steep, but be aware the lighting is not great and the first step from the landing is difficult to see on your way down (the beautiful wood sort of blends together) and the railing ends before the steps do. Would happily stay here again on future trips to Porto!

Extremely great flat! Wonderful location. Very large for a European flat- could fit four adults easily and comfortably. We walked everywhere. Would highly recommend and stay here again.

On Sept, 24 & 27 I emailed Marc the date and time our train would arrive at Campanha station, Porto. As per his instructions we phoned the number at least 4 times in succession and the phone wasn''t answered. I received a call back and text to call another number. We indicated that we were taking a taxi to the apartment address as suggested by Marc and should arrive a few minutes after 4 p.m.The Lady noted that Marc wasn't available and they weren't expecting us! This I don’t understand because Marc had provided the phone number to call and VRBO confirmed the payment. She would meet us at the apartment in approximately 1 hour. At 5:23 we texted to see if anyone was coming. We had been standing on the street waiting until other occupants let us into the lobby. About 10 minutes later she texted that she was on her way and finally arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes after our initial contact. The apartment is on the 4th floor and the elevator wasn’t working throughout our stay. No effort was made for any repairs while we were there and other occupants indicated that that was normal. At 79 years old climbing to the 4th floor, approximately 100 steps, with luggage or purchases is no joke! We had intended on taking breaks in the airconditioned apartment throughout the day but we altered our plans and stayed out all day rather than climb the stairs several times. If the elevator is not dependable and in working order then it should not be listed in the apartment amenities!!

We were met by Rita to let us into the apartment. Everything was exactly as listed on VRBO. Unfortunately upon departing on our check out day the contact to return the apartment keys to never showed up. We waited 30 extra minutes with our taxi driver patiently waiting until we had to leave for the airport. We finally left the keys under the door as there was no other option even after trying to reach our initial contact Rita. Hopefully the next renter was able to be let in without a problem.

Very bright and clean. Perfect location. Lots of space. Main bedroom had a king size bed and very comfortable. Can't hear any outside noise when sleeping. Both bedrooms are in the back away from the street. Nice balcony. Easy check in and out. Great communication with owner. I would definitely stay there again. The only thing is we had a car and the parking was difficult to find.

The spot could not be better. Close to historic Porto’s and Ribeira. Owner very responsive

The property was very clean and had everything we needed (iron, hair dryer). We loved hanging on the balcony with the amazing view and people watching on the busy street below. The apartment was quiet at night and the air conditioning was so nice to have in August.

Great place to stay. Center of the town and you can walk to almost everywhere. Beautiful view from the balcony.

The apartment view is beautiful, AC and two bathrooms with plenty of space was great! We had some family members visit which was easier then finding a patio for a large group. Wish we stayed longer :) Close to shopping and the main waterfront, loved this place.

Great property, right in the centre of the old town, yet quiet and spacious. Other than no washing machine, it had everything you needed. The terrace is a great bonus.

Beautiful apartment, surrounded by restaurants, shops, museums and tourism. A/C, grocery store and wine shops a short, short walk away.

We really enjoyed staying at the apartment. It is large, and has a nice kitchen, air conditioning that works well and it has an incredible view. The location couldn’t be better with shops and restaurants steps away and walking distant to many attractions. The TV is large and we were able to watch Netflix and Prime. The bedrooms were large as were the beds. The bed in the room with the en suite sagged on one side which made it a bit uncomfortable m. Also there was no top sheet. There was no soap in the showers. The elevator worked about 50% of the time. The woman am who checked us in was very nice and waited for us since our flight was delayed. Since the elevator didn’t work that night, she called the neighbor on the 4th floor as apparently the elevator stops in his apartment. He said this is an ongoing problem with the condo association and they need to get it fixed and to stop bothering him. We ended up carrying our luggage up three long flights of stairs which was very difficult as we are in our 60’s and 70’s. Despite these difficulties, we rate it a 4 star and recommend it given the size location and views. With some adjustments it would be a 5 star. Keep in mind that you may need to climb several flights of stairs, and bring your own soap and basics like coffee.

The apartment was well equipped and had a cute balcony with a nice view if the city. Its well located close to shopping and restaurants.

Flat is very comfortable and location is perfect. Outdoor balcony was fabulous. Only shortcoming is only 2 wine glasses...simple to fix that. Also elevator only comes up to 3rd floor for this 4th floor suite which was fine for us but take note.

Our accommodation was perfect for a city stay. Walking distance to the best areas. Our problem was the lift was not working and we were told it would be the next day. However this was not the case. To have to carry 2 23kg cases up and down 99 steps was not good. Having to climb up and down these several times a day was unwelcome for people of our age. I hate to think of a person disabled hopes of doing it. There was not enough crockery or cutlery considering it was supposed to sleep six. Although informed, there were only single pillow for each of us and we could not open bedroom windows. Air con was provided however. There was only one waste paper bin provided so we could not empty them. However without the lift we were not prepared to. Ironically, we loved the apartment for all its little faults. The contact number on the website was incorrect and so contacting owner as arranged was difficult until I noticed a single digit difference on his email to me. I would use it again if it’s faults were dealt with.

I will return. Exceeded all expectations. Great owner, super easy to work with

On the day we arrived, we were stuck in the elevator for about 20 minutes. We only chose this 4th floor apartment because it had an elevator as we are elderly and slightly disabled. For our entire stay, the elevator was not fixed and the property owner or manager would not answer us. We did not go out nearly as much as we would have as climbing to the top floor was too difficult. We only got an answer about helping with luggage the night before we left and after contacting VRBO directly. Also, don’t be fooled by the one bed but two different bed coverings like we were. There is only one bedroom and one small room that is the size of a closet. Very deceitful. On the plus side, the location is wonderful.

Very convenient location. It’s in the center of the town and close to restaurants, shops and attractions. Balcony with a nice view of lovely buildings and busy street. Windows have very good insulation. Quiet inside.Living room is big.

Super clean, safe, comfortable in an excellent location for walking . The central location was convenient and the apartment super quiet. The small balcony was great for morning coffee and port in the evening. Would definitely stay here again.

Check in was flawless. Property located in an ideal spot to access everything you’d want to see in Porto for during a 3 night stay Located right in the downtown close to the river restaurants and shopping. The host has prepared a “get to know the area” book which directed us to a great local market. Downtown but very quiet in the evenings. Restaurants but no bars on the street below so made for great sleeping. Air conditioning was nice as well but really didn’t need it at this time of year. Beautiful apartment and beautiful view. 2 great bedrooms and bathrooms. We Would stay there again and would recommend to family and friends.

This property has an excellent location to everything we wanted to see and experience in Porto. It was a short walk to/from the Sao Bento train station for train arrivals/departures and short walk down to the Duoro River waterfront. The Luis 1 Bridge at the riverfront makes for an easy walking river cross to the port wineries. There were many great restaurants within a block of the apartment. Host communication both pre-arrival and during our stay was excellent and prompt. The arrival process was simple. We just called on arrival at Sao Bento and were met at the apartment right as we arrived. The apartment was as advertised, very clean, updated and had a great cathedral view. The only thing we would note is that you do need to take 1 flight of stairs up after exiting the elevator to access the unit. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay Marc!
