I was almost tempted not to write a review to keep this little slice of paradise a secret for as long as possible! However Marie-Aude and Joke were lovely to deal with I felt compelled to. The traditional authentically Spanish Town of Zahara has a fabulous unspoilt quirky village feel to it with an amazing array of friendly bars and restaurants even in the low season. Fabulous place to explore the wider region of cadiz but on returning from any day trip you soon realise you are aleady on THE best beach in the area. If long beach walks and coastal paths are your thing you will be in heaven here. Not to mention the perfect nightly sunsets and morning moon sets - AMAZING! With the perfect vantage point from the upper deck at the apartment providing glorious 360 degree views. A great place to watch the ever changing seascape. The apartment itself was truly fabulous so much bigger than it looks online with the most magnificent light and views from every window - just perfect. The attention to detail was top notch everything had been thought of and the decor and little touches gave it a real homely feel. What a find! Walking distance to everything was a real treat not having to take a car out. Thanks Marie-Aude for sharing your little piece of paradise could not have wanted for more for some R&R. What a place!

Its the most beautiful apartment tou are ever likely to stay in. The ever changing views of the sea cliffs and mountains are breathtaking.... and then there’s the interiors ... beautifully decorated bright spotless and comfortable. We throughly enjoyed our time in this Zahara del Los Atunes slice...The views and locale (complete with low season peacefulness) were wonderful...The photos of the unit supplied by the owner, Marie Aude were spot on...She and her on location manager were VERY responsive to our inquiries before and during our stay...Plus, rarely do we find an apartment so carefully maintained...Like almost everyone else who stays here, we dream of returning some day...

Zahara des los Atunes is the best kept secret in Spain and this apartment has the best location and views in this wonderful village. The apartment is perfectly appointed with spectacular, undisturbed views of the amazing beach. The apartment is really comfortable, has every modern amenity and feature to ensure a great stay, including access to a very private pool, on the ground level, with direct access from the pool area to the beach. We were spoiled for choice with lunch and dinner venues. We stayed for a week and ate in a different restaurant for lunch and dinner every day. Each restaurant got better and better as the week went on. My only regret is that we missed the Tuna Festival in early May. We will definitely be back next year. I can't recommend this apartment or Zahara highly enough!

As soon as we came in the door we both said, wow! The photos don't even do this apartment justice because the main living room space (and bedroom) have large windows all over looking the huge, long beautiful sandy beach. It's the only apartment we've stayed in where you can sunbathe inside as in the late afternoon the sun comes into the main living room. It's got such a nice feel to it, with so much light.It is beautifully decorated with attention to detail and real care. In the late evening you can watch the sunset. One evening a group of horse riders came past just as the sun was setting. Zahara itself is fast becoming a gastro town with superb tapas bars, El Campero & Zoko (a few minutes walk from the apartment) to name but two. The only thing which would improve it is perhaps a small TV in the main living room as this is the space we just loved to be in most of the time. The apartment is very well equipped throughout.. We loved it that much we booked for next year whilst we were still there! (And as a rule we like to try new places). Bravo Marie-Aude, this is our favourite apartment in Spain and we've stayed in many over the years!

We stayed in Zahara for nine days in July and we had excellent days. The apartment is ideally located at the end of the village. A quiet location, but only two minutes from the village centre. Since the apartment is in the first line towards the beach we had only two minutes to the beach and ocean view from the living room and the master bedroom. Our family includes two adults and two teenagers. We arranged lunch in the kitchen and had dinner in town - a good combination. The kids especially appreciated the proximity to both the pool and the beach. The apartment is properly arranged and well equipped. The wi-fi is a bit slow, bit that is probably common standard for Zahara. The master bedroom is located in the opposite corner to the room with the two other bedroom. An advantage if you have older children, but maybe a challenge for smaller kids who want to sleep close to their parents. The terrace is small, but there is room for four people having breakfast or lunch. The view is just wonderful. We had a SUV and it was a challenge to find a parking spot for the car (this was mid-July). The streets are really narrow and you do not want to make any cratches on the car, especially if you have a rental car without all the extra CDW. We found a sort of public parking arrangement (2 Euro/day) and that was conventient for us. To summarize; we warmly recommend Zahara and this apartment.

What a charming place to stay! This is a wonderful apartment with panoramic views. Maybe brilliant is a better word to describe this bright and light home away from home, full of sea sparkle. I knew it was on beach with sea views, but it really is on the beach. Sitting on the couch, or at the table I could see the fishermen taking out their boats, mammoth ocean liners making their way into the Atlantic from the Straits of Gibraltar and tantalising close –the coast of Africa. It was amazing to think that for thousands of years sailors and traders have landed on this coast, Phoenicians, Romans and Moors obviously it remains a popular spot. I slept like a log in my comfortable bed, with crisp white linen and woke to clear blue skies. Easy to conjure up a tasty breakfast in the well equipped kitchen, or head out for breakfast in one of the many good restaurants only 2 minutes walk away along the sandy streets. Naturally only after having a wake me up coffee from the Nespresso machine – how civilized! Zahara is a lovely town. Lots of very good restaurants, very friendly staff, and excellent food. It’s all here, Spanish traditional, Spanish modern and Spanish cool and hip. And that was the key for me – it is Spanish. This is a holiday town, but it is an absolute Spanish holiday town. It is another world from Costa del Sol and if you are looking for real Spain and more precisely real Andalucia this is it. The locals are welcoming and chatty, justly proud of their delightful and pleasant town. Everybody was most keen to engage with us and recommend things to do, places to go and food to taste. Zahara is a great base to explore from. Barbate is a good sized town only 7 km away, if you need something you can’t find in Zahara. We went to Cadiz, Vejer de la Frontera, Medina Sidonia and even Africa for the day from Tarifa. Along the way saw flamingos and some very rare Bald Ibis (s) – not sure how you spell that. All of these lovely places are close enough to allow some afternoon beach time, if you are not interested in beach time – there are any amount of places to visit. If you are interested in beach time – there is no need to ever leave you can walk out the door onto the beach or lounge by the private pool. Marie Aude was very helpful and very knowledgeable about the area, and had great suggestions about places to go and things to do. We stayed in this beautiful apartment in late October and early November 2014 and I would honestly say had one of the best holidays we have ever had. A really balanced combination of doing everything and doing nothing in perfect temperatures of the early 20˚s. You know what they say - location is everything; well this spectacular location, directly on the finest sandy beach, which must stretch for 15km or more?, meant early morning walks, then something tasty from the bakery with freshly brewed coffee on the balcony, and sunset strolls, sometimes for miles along the beach or sometimes just standing there in awe – and all on the doorstep! No matter where the day was spent, mooching around all the old towns and cities nearby - Cadiz with its lovely narrow streets and shops bursting with the finest leathers, or Jerez to sample the sherries in the old bodegas, or the lovely Vejer de la Frontera sitting high on top of the hill to one side of Zahara, or walking in the hills above Barbate or Bolonia we would finish the day back in the waves at Zahara before the evening aperitif (sherry for one and the finest Spanish wine for the other!), leaning over the balcony of the apartment and watching the sun go down and the lights of Tangier begin to appear in the distance. Magic. This is a beautiful, fully equipped apartment and I love the nautical theme – blue and white everywhere, we lacked for nothing. It even has its own telescope to watch the shipping and the stars! Extremely friendly local people (went to the Library for lunch as you recommended, and because the barman/waiter knew we didn’t understand what the dish of the day was, he brought the pot to the table to show us!) There is even a hardware store in the village, with basement and more upstairs, so someone was very happy!! We flew into Malaga and had a very easy journey, motorway (starts at the airport!) nearly all the way, to Zahara de los Atunes. Great location for visiting Trafalgar, Gibraltar, Cadiz, Jerez, the hill towns of the old frontier and even a short hop (1 hour ferry) from Tarifa to Tangier for a day trip to Africa.

We recently spent a week (Sept. 2014) at this incredible apartment located directly on the beach in the wonderful village of Zahara de los Atunes. The apartment is very spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The views over the beach and ocean are spectacular, sunsets are incredible. You are directly on the beach, which is long and wide, so there are no crowds of people near the apartment. It is very quiet at night. A two minute walk brings you directly into town, a beautiful white village with numerous bars, restaurants, shops and markets. Although some great day trips are within an hour (Cadiz, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Bolonia Beach with Roman ruins, Jerez, and several other villages along the ocean) it is very relaxing to just soak up all Zahara has to offer while staying in this great apartment. Marie, the owner is very easy to communicate with and her hospitality is a real addition to the overall pleasure of staying at "Sunset Atico". We will definitely return!

My 15 year old daughter and myself spent a fabulous three-day-break in this fantastic apartment in the very South of the Andalusian region of Spain. The facilities are superb, the views are unique and the decoration of the property is really tasty and well kept. You have everything you need very close by, restaurants, shops, even an extremely handy 24 h petrol station in the village. The apartment has a lovely layout, with two spacious bedrooms, a kitchen-dinning area and a living room with astonishing views to the Atlantic sea. You can even see the African Coast from the sofa. The property was very clean and the company that manages the property is very helpful and professional. I'll definitely would like to go over again and would recommend it to anybody looking for a quiet location, yet with full of activities available in the area, from surfing, whale watching or horse riding to visiting the close-by ancient Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia. The food in the several restaurants we visited in the village deserve a special mention. It is of a very high quality and very affordable. Very friendly people and a lovely atmosphere in the whole village. All in all, a piece of heaven which I will remember for a while.

We enjoyed our stay in this fantastic apartment. It is very well equipet with everything you need. The location direkt at the beach could not be better and the view is really amazing. You can see the ocean even from the bed! Zahara is a cosy (in the off season) littel town with very friendly people. Thank you very much for organizing the baby-bed an high-chair.

This is a beautiful apartment in the wonderful unique town of Zahara. We recently spent a week there. The sea views are stunning at every hour of the day. Wake in the morning and watch the sky and sea from your bed!! A real treat. The terrace in the evening, another pleasure. Beautifully decorated with everything you could need. A home from home with amazing views. Cant wait to return.

A wonderful apartment in a wonderful setting. Luckily hit Zahara for the Tuna festival and had a great time. The Tapas took us on a tour of Zahara to places we wouldn't have found so it was a great way of getting to know the place. It's small enough to be intimate, you get to know the locals fairly quickly and big enough to give you plenty to do. The area is beautiful with Cadiz and Sevile a day trip away. The apartment met all our needs and more and really the sea scape , the sunsets are hard to beat and I've been to very beautiful places. The beach couldn't be closer, literally and the swimming pool gave privacy when the beach got busy. A 3 minute walk from shops and restaurants what more can you ask. Thank you for a great holiday.
