C’est la deuxième fois que nous venions dans la maison, et l’emplacement est toujours aussi magnifique, au calme et en pleine nature à proximité des moutons La maison a été nouvellement aménagée, et la cuisine a été améliorée avec un lave-vaisselle, une nouvelle gazinière et plus d’espace pour faire la cuisine. La piscine n’existe plus, mais ce n’est pas du tout un souci et nous avons pu utiliser la belle terrasse pour pratiquer le yoga Rémi a été aux petits soins et s’est occupé de la maison durant notre séjour avec un soin remarquable Nous reviendrons sûrement pour profiter de cette tranquillité avec la belle vue des différentes terrasses

Pas de défaut Le chemin est un peu raide en venant de skopelos mais c’est comme partout En partant des travaux d’égalisation étaient en cours Le wifi est toujours faible mais comme souvent dans l’île

Katerina our host was wonderful, welcomed us at the ferry port and drove with us to the cottage. She was so helpful during our stay and even left us some wine and treats to welcome us. The view from the cottage across the valley to Glysteri bay is absolutely unparalleled, breathtaking and the cottage felt like a remote haven. Even with the roosters at 5am!

We didn't mind it, but the route to the cottage is very steep and windy with hairpin bends and some steep drops, a car is essential. Driving on Skopelos is not for the faint hearted! It took about 13 mins to drive into Skopelos town. We were travelling with our toddler and constant vigilance was needed due to low walls by the balcony and inside and steep stairs in the cottage - we still loved our stay but it might be stressful for others with small children.

Olive Mill cottage is a comfortable holiday home for a family of 4, in a beautiful setting. The pool is fantastic. The air conditioning works well and it is spacious and well appointed for self catering. Katerina and family are incredibly welcoming and helpful with any questions or help you need. It is a good base for all the great beaches and the town. You should be aware that the cottage is quite far off the main road and Katerina kindly offers to meet you at the port to show you the way. We did also find it on Google maps for navigation. There are steep and unmade roads so hire a decent car to take you up these!

The host met us at the port and we followed her to the house in our car. She and her husband were extremely thorough at explaining everything about the house, which is lovely and spotless. The setting is peaceful and private, and the pool perfectly maintained.

Poly/cotton sheets not great in heat. A couple more bowls would be helpful in the kitchen. As others have said, the last 200 meters of dirt road are dicey, but it’s worth it. The internet didn’t work in spite of the hosts coming to fix it, but it never worked well at most places on the island in any case.

The cottage is very tastefully decorated and we liked that it was different from the standard type of accommodations you sometimes encounter in Greece. The beds were comfortable and it was super quiet. As the weather was a bit rainy and chilly at night when we were there we were very happy that the shower gave plenty of hot water. The hosts were super friendly and they met us at the port of Skopelos, which was very easy. They also welcomed us with a bottle of wine, which was a nice touch. They were definitely there to ensure we had a comfortable stay and were ready to help at any time. It's also great that the cottage has a large outside area with plenty of seating around, as well as a nice clear view. It's very private and quiet. The pool looked great but unfortunately we couldn't use it due to the weather conditions when there.

The cottage was a little too remote for us (personal taste) even though we had a car (you need one when you book here). Yes, the final stretch of the road is not paved, however we didn't have an issue with that like in some other reviews; you don't need a 4x4 or anything to get there, just drive slowly on the last 200 meters. When we were there the wifi wasn't working properly, which the hosts fixed as soon as they could but as it was weekend they were able to fix it on Monday. We would recommend that some basic cooking supplies such as pepper, salt and some other herbs are provided, as well as Nescafe/Tea, as the place is too remote to just pop down to the supermarket. For the price you pay for us that was a basic expectation. As we were only there for 3 nights you don't want to stock up on those basics. Would also recommend they supply some fabric kitchen towels so that you can dry the dishes properly.
