Such a great stay at a nice property overlooking Paradise.

Very quiet and relaxing place not too far from town but far enough. Had everything we needed to make food. A/C in upstairs bedroom was a life saver. Spent lots of time on the patio looking at the bay. Definitely agree with keep food off the counters overnight. Would stay here again.

We loved our stay at this home in Culebra. The view was gorgeous and we were entertained with the sailing boats coming into the bay. The kitchen well equipped and the home had everything we needed during our stay. We would love to stay here again!

We had a truly awesome vacation staying at Punta Aloe 21 on Culebra. The owners have thought of everything without having mounds of unneeded items. We have stayed at many Vrbo rentals and many seem like they fill them with everything they don't want in their main home.
Things I love about the house: (other than the obvious gorgeous view and 2 incredible decks.)
-the cleanliness is awesome. A true test of a clean house is when you drop something on the floor, wipe it and the rag isn't filthy from the poorly cleaned floor.
-the dock across the street is a huge bonus.
-the knives were sharp
-there are plastic containers for leftovers with covers that
match and fit
-the bath and beach towels are really nice.
- the shelving for clothes in the bedrooms are great.
- they provide 1 shampoo and 2 hair conditioners which
is genius. You alway use more hair conditioner than
shampoo.
- The paintings done by one of the owners are lovely.
- the furniture is perfect, the beds very comfortable.
- the outdoor lounge chairs, table and chairs and beach
chairs were in great shape and just the right amount
You can't beat the location and the views are simply out of this world. We would go to the beach some days, and others I would swim off the dock then come back and lounge on the decks.
We shopped every other day for our food in the well-stocked grocery stores. The overall experience rates this as one of the best vacations we have had in years.
All the best! Stephanie and Peter

The views from both the lower and upper decks were amazing, especially at sunrise. Kitchen supplies were okay, kinda what I’ve come to expect on small islands. The AC in the bedroom worked great and there was almost always a good ocean breeze blowing through the rest of the house with the windows open and there were a few fans available for use. The beds were not the most comfortable but the linens were clean. We did have a little bit of an ant issue but nothing too bad. Don’t rent anything larger than a Jeep or you’ll have difficulty parking it. The beach chairs, umbrella and such were very convenient. The gravity water filter in the kitchen was nice because we didn’t have to buy drinking water and use a bunch of plastic bottles.

The property was wonderful and well-stocked, and the hosts were very responsive. We did not rent a vehicle for most ofbour trip and the walk into town and to the southern beach was hot but easily managable, about half an hour each way. There was a gravity water filter, a coffee maker, and several fans. The sunsets and sunrises were stunning in the view over the harbor, and we enjoyed every minute of our time there.
One night we had a particularly powerful thunderstorm that drove rain through the metal doors and several places in the roof. We put out some buckets and towels, and sipped rum coctails while occasionally mopping. We notified the hosts and, as always, were reaponsive. Ultimately this was not an issue for us, as none of the leaks were over anything critical (i.e. electronics and upholstery).
I highly reccomend this location, it was everything we were hoping for.

Great location and so easy to get to any of Culebra’s beaches. Beautiful view of bay and sunrises from the decks. Unit is large and has everything you need, from kitchen appliances to beach accessories and laundry to parking. Really enjoyed our stay!

The Views were breathtaking and the overall location was very Nice, The property was not a hundred percent accurate according to the listing, Kind of run down a little bit and not very well maintained, Ants Throughout entire house and a severe bug Problem and spider problems throughout our stay. Wi-Fi went out halfway through visit And never came back on. The owner's communication was amazing but the property could use some upkeep improvements and a little bit of renovation in some areas.

Well appointed house in a calm, relaxing waterfront setting.
This 2 bedroom, 2 story house was well appointed, especially the kitchen. The upstairs and downstairs shaded porches were perfect for reading or outdoors eating. As expected, a rental car or golf cart is necessary to access beaches, restaurants or grocery stores. The available beach chairs, snorkel equipment, and washer/dryer were much appreciated.

Little touches equal enormous enjoyment.
Eckard, Sigrid and Frankie's thoughtful furnishing of Punta Aloe 21 made our 3 week stay memorable and carefree. Things like the hammock on the deck, lots of dish towels, stainless cookware, the downstairs laundry room, screens on the windows, combined with comfy mattresses and the lovely views set the stage for a relaxing stay.

Wonderful stay in Culebra!
My family of four had a great stay in Culebra at this property. The deck was perfect for our lunches and dinners and the view is absolutely amazing! There is cover for shade out there and enough of a breeze that we were not bothered by bugs (a concern for my daughters).
AC in the bedrooms worked great, too. We spent 4 nights here and were sad we had to leave so soon.
If you go, make sure you snorkel at Tamarindo Beach early in the morning when the turtles are feeding. We were the only people at Zoni Beach twice and found some great shells there, too. The market just over the bridge to the right as you are heading to the property is the best as far as prices and variety of items available.

Great as always!
This was our second time at Eckard's and Sigrid's cosy place and it was just as good as it was the last time. We spent a total of 3 blissful weeks and we did not want to leave.
The house is situated on a quiet street overlooking the bay where you get a spectacular view from both the main and upper deck. The town is a 5 minute drive away so loading up on groceries was pretty convenient. The kitchen was well equipped which was great as we were cooking all the time. There is also a dock 2 minutes walk from the house where you can go for a quick swim, do a little snorkeling along the mangrove or just read a book there.
This is such a gem and we will definitely stay here again when and if we return to Culebra.

Tranquility
We have enjoyed staying at the house. It’s on the road with not too much traffic and the neighbors were quiet. The house is comfortable and very functional. The kitchen is well equipped, which is important to me as I like to cook. We stayed in the east unit and it was lovely to watch the sunrises, the sailboats and the cargo ferry coming and going. There is no access to the water by the house but we had a golf cart and there are many beaches that are only minutes away. Eckard and his family are awesome hosts, communicated instantly and gave us excellent detailed instructions about the restaurants and things to do, even where to get fresh fruit and veggies (at D’s Garden, where they also make delicious smoothies, sell local organic cheese and fresh eggs - we literally got them directly from the chicken coop, they were still warm!)
We had a great week and would definitely return. Thank you, Eckard!

Wonderful Culebra stay started here
The pictures on the property's page don't do the location justice. From either the first or second floor decks, you are overlooking a beautiful bay, boats and greenery in the distance. The property was very clean - except for some beach sand we added! - and it had the conveniences one needs. There were a couple of minor issues - trouble with the hot water heater - but the owners kept the lines of communication open and addressed the issue. It was our first time on Culebra and we thoroughly enjoyed the beaches. Some are rocky or studded with coral, but are too beautiful not to visit for a few hours. Flamenco Beach is worth the cost to get in. But don't forget Zoni Beach, free and one of the most beautiful locations we have ever been at. Again, we heartily recommend this property. We used the upstairs bedroom, because of the better morning view. The downstairs living area is comfortable and roomy. Did I say that the view was worth the price of admission?! Thanks again for the use of the property.

Friendly just right perfect location
We had a lovely stay in Culebra at this property. The house is simple yet airy, comfortable with a great view and perfect quiet location. The owners Sigrid and Eckard were friendly, accommodating and very welcoming. We loved our stay and loved these hosts.

At home in Culebra
This is a home with a nice view of the sea, well-equipped kitchen and two comfortable bedrooms. It provides privacy and space to lie in the sun and enjoy the view. The artist owner has her paintings/pictures on the walls--beautiful work. If you stay here, you should rent a vehicle, as walking to town or beaches is a bit far. We would certainly rent this home again.

Beautiful place! Worth it comhave someone that is unable to do stairs then this is not the place .
otherwise the owners were great and the house has amazing views and are equipped with most everything you need but once again like others who said it does need to grill. Still most people will be jealous if you don't have or even a week!

great spot
A great spot with the decks being a highlight. Enjoyed having a washer/dryer if needed and it was a quick ride into town. Owner very responsive. We are light sleepers, so the chicken/roosters can be annoying, yet this is part of island life and hard to avoid.

Sweet spot on Bahia de Honda
The owners were very helpful and pleasant without intruding. The rental was well equipped and airy. We may well be back another year. Thanks so much! R&S from VT

A wonderful stay by the bay in Culebra
What a great property, beautiful views from both the upper and lower decks. Having one bedroom upstairs and the other down created a nice feeling of space and privacy for the four of us. The kitchen is well equipped and the living area is comfortable. The only upgrade I would offer is to add an outdoor grill.
The owners, Sigrid and Eckard are very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay at Punta Aloe 21 again.

A lil spot of magic
Culebra is a little spot of magic and Punta Aloe is the place to stay. The owners couldn’t be more helpful and the view and location couldn’t be better. The space is charming and clean. Perfect for a family of four.
We loved it and will be back! Thank you Sigrid and Eckard.

Beautiful house in a great location; Gracious hosts
This house in in a fantastic location overlooking the water - the view is breathtaking. There are two very spacious decks to relax on, with patio furniture to include tables, chairs, recliners and hooks for a hammock. There is quick access on paved roads to virtually anywhere on the island. Very convenient to restaurants and stores. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and there are two private bedrooms. The house is big enough to comfortably accommodate 6 people. There is satellite TV and Wi-Fi. There is a washer and clotheslines in place. All we had to do was relax and enjoy. The owners, Sigrid and Eckard are so easy to work with and very personable when we met them. We would happily recommend this property to anyone and will probably return ourselves next year.

lovely location, comfortable space with well equiped house
Our family of 4 stayed in the larger unit for 6 days. We found the location to be ideal with water views, quiet road for walking, including the 15 minute walk to to Punta Soldado, a small beach at the end of the road. The house was very comfortable, the winds were present most of the time keeping the house cool. The kitchen was well equipped, we only ate out one time while we were on Culebra. We had rented a car in order to access all of the beaches, but you could stay here and walk to town to the grocery stores and restaurants if you wanted. We were looking for quiet, comfortable house and access to the out of doors, we found this and more at the house. The owners were a pleasure to work with, making the booking and stay very straight forward. We highly recommend this property.

Wonderful views of the bay; stayed happily in both units
I can echo the other positive reviews emphasizing the wonderful decks and views, well equipped kitchens and cleanliness. Our daughter and boyfriend were with us in the larger unit and we appreciated the privacy afforded us by having one bedroom on one floor and the other on a different level. Some snorkels and fins, beach chairs, and filtered water are available, all very nice pluses. Far enough from town that I'd advise having a golf cart to get around. The larger unit had comfortable seating for the four of us. The smaller of the two units was perfect for the two of us after our daughter left. It can accommodate four people but not as comfortably as the larger unit. This was our second time on the island and our first time staying in Sigrid and Eckart's apartments. They are warm, engaging people who are quite helpful- I was very happy that I got to chat with them in person. We'll hope to return in the future.

Gorgeous views, Clean and spacious.
My wife and I stayed in the larger unit, and thoroughly enjoyed the view from both decks. The upper one was ideal for star gazing while the lower was large and had a shade area that allowed us to enjoy all our meals al fresco. We found ourselves out there, nearly every morning, enjoying the sailboats. The kitchen was well outfitted for all our cooking needs.
The house is situated to catch the Trades, and we found no need of the air conditioners, but they mightbcome in handy during the late spring and summer. All in all, a lovely way to experience Culebra!

Snorkelling and readers' haven
Ideal for my daughter and I to escape busy city life in Canada to mark her 30th birthday, this two story duplex unit was perfect. We enjoyed five different beaches during the day for swimming in the warm waters with sea turtles, fan coral, tropical fish in calm waters. We loved coming home to this clean, spacious three story house, thoughtfully fully equipped with cooking supplies, a great shower and private bathroom on each floor, we enjoyed the decks for breakfasts and sunset dinners.
The owners even had a radio for NPR broadcasts or other local news and provided a wireless connection for avoiding a digital detox after all. Best of intentions....
A half hour walk to town, or a frequent hitch hike, I recommend you book a golf cart in advance from Carlos' rentals. All were booked when we arrived. Banking at the ATM had a daily cash limit, so that and the exchange fee were annoying.
We felt safe the whole time and even enjoyed a daily visit from a feral kitty. We curled up with good books at night and enjoyed the fans and wind to keep cool. One of the few vacations where I felt fully rested from my busy executive life style back home. Well worth the two days of travel to get there! Recommend taking Flamenco or Vieques tiny six seater for the thrilling trip from San Juan, stunning coastal views and memorable landing in a narrow valley. An unforgettable trip. The host couple were extremely patient with my queries that could not be answered by reading guidebooks or online searches. I did pack mosquito repellent, worried about Dengue and Zika, but we avoided being outside at dawn and dusk, somrarely saw mosquitos at all.
Paradise.

A wonderful stay!
This is our 3rd time staying at Punta Aloe and we have stayed in both units. One unit is slightly smaller than the other (the larger unit has a larger living room), but they are both well designed, nicely and simply decorated, have all the amenities necessary for a confortable stay, and impeccably clean. The view overseeing the bay from the terrace is wonderful and it is very quiet and private, at a walking distance to town ( 15-20 minutes), and 5 minutes by car. We hope to come back a fourth time !

Absolutely amazing
My partner and I stayed at Sigrid and Eckard's cozy place for close to 3 weeks and we had such an amazing time. The view of the water from their place is just simply breathtaking. The kitchen is very well equipped and we found everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. We love having breakfast on the deck and laying on the hammock reading in the afternoon. The location of the house is very convenient. It is situated on a quiet road but yet convenient to walk to the town of Dewey. Sigrid and Eckard are amazing people and we felt like we were leaving our friends when we checked out. We will definitely be back again to this wonderful place.

My 14 yr old daughter and I stayed with an aunt and cousin at the larger unit at 21 Punta Aloe for 7 nights and had a wonderful time. The unit is clean and comfortable with plenty of outdoor and indoor space for a relaxing vacation. The house is not far from the main town of Dewey and an easy drive to Culebra's beautiful beaches and wonderful restaurants. We hope to visit again next year. Our favorite restaurants were Mamacita's, Dingy Dock and Eden.

Pretty Perfect
My wife and I spent a week in the smaller unit. We had a great time. The place was clean and had a great view of the bay. No need for A/C, as the breezes were perfect. It was very convenient to town and was very quiet. Reasonably priced and perfect for our needs. Would definitely stay again.

We spent 7 wonderful days on Culebra. We enjoyed the larger unit we were staying in, and it was just as described. The views were beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the sunrise each and every morning. Sigrid and Eckard were staying in the smaller unit during the week we were there, and they were a delight!! They were so friendly and helpful in explaining things to see and do on the island. We can't say enough about their kind hospitality. We visited the beaches, loved eating at Dinghy Dock and Susie's, and just really enjoyed the serenity and location of Punta Aloe. The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We were extremely pleased and would definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back to Culebra.

Sigrid and Eckhard have a lovely vacation home and our family enjoyed our stay imensely. The house is located a little bit outside of the main town of Dewey which allows for a sense of peace and quiet, yet it is a short ride to great beaches and town. Everything in Culebra is close, it is a small island! The views from the house are lovely, overlooking the quiet bay and add to the restful feeling you get which vacationing here. The upper and lower decks make for daily sunrise and sunset views. The house is clean and in well maintained condition. We especially appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was, there was not one thing we were missing when it came to cooking meals. The owners are a wonderful, well traveled couple, and we enjoyed meeting them and hearing about their history in Culebra, they have been coming to the island for 30 years. We would highly recommend this home. Culebra is off the beaten path, has incredible snorkeling, gorgeous beaches, friendly locals, delicious food....and we hope to be back for another visit in the future.
