Only minor issue-cleaning company had not been there between guests-had to do laundry and make beds as well as vacuum

From the spectacular views of the ocean and mountains to the sparkling clean, thoughtfully furnished interior, Rooster Cottage exceeded our expectations. We hope to stay there again in the future!

Rooster Cottage is spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Located in the little hamlet of Manset, the cottage offers beautiful views across the working harbor at all times of day. Rooster Cottage is half an hour or so from the major attractions of Acadia National Park on the eastern side of the island, though there are several beautiful hikes just a few minutes away. We can highly recommend this property.

The location of Rooster Cottage provides views that are beyond words. Especially if you live in the Midwest. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Five of us totally enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The deck overlooks the harbor, and we relished seeing the many moods of Maine. The owner was gracious and accommodating & Ronan the caretaker was responsive & helpful. We highly recommend this property.

My family of five adults stayed at rooster cottage for one week. The house was beautiful, neat and modern. There was plenty of space at the table and living room for everyone to be comfortable. The deck and deck view were our favorite. We would definitely stay there again!

The view from the very spacious deck is fabulous. The house is open, airy, light, and comfortable. Bedrooms were spacious and more than accommodating. Can't wait to go back!

All I heard as my family members walked around the cottage was "Oh My God!" "Oh My God!" What a great home you built! The views are exceptional , the floors beautiful, and the dining room table is unbelievable. ( Who made it for you?) The location is perfect. We visited Southwest Harbor,Northwest Harbor. Bass Harbor, Bar Harbor, Acadia Loop, Schoodic Loop, Cadillac Mountain, Claremont Hotel, Seal Cove Auto Museum. I could go on but you can see we had an awesome time! Absolutely a perfect setting away from the crowds of Bar Harbor but close enough to go to daily. Acadia National Park within 20 minutes. This home is lovely and has perfect views of the harbor from the bedrooms, family and dining room and wrap around deck. All the comforts of home. Highly recommend.

I absolutely LOVED my stay at the Rooster Cottage in Southwest Harbor, Maine. I stayed for a long time, a month, and I loved it. It is nice and quiet, and the views of the harbor are gorgeous. I could sit and look out the window, or sit on the back porch and just watch the harbor all day long. The house itself is gorgeous! I hope to stay here every year! I cant recommend it this place enough. It is about a 20-25 minute drive to Ellsworth, and about the same distance to Bar Harbor. I didn't care though! It suited me just fine. Did I say just how much I liked this place!

Perfect property to relax while hiking in Maine. Nice and quiet with amazing views. Loved the large porch and plenty of space to spread out. All new appliances and very clean. Would absolutely stay again.

This was a beautiful new home with two king suites - a rare find for two couples traveling together. The kitchen was well stocked with any tools needed to cook, although we took full advantage of the fantastic restaurants in the area. Our morning and evening rituals of enjoying the enormous deck, overlooking the harbor and all of its activity, will be greatly missed. Wonderful memories - we'd definitely return if given the chance.

Spectacular setting, extraordinary home with all new furnishings, appliances and design in a locale ideally suited to take advantage of all the resources the island has to offer! We will be baaaack!

Brand new, immaculate house with the most serene views. Excellent communication with owners. Close to national park, restaurants, shops, ferry, water sports, swimming and hiking. House is comfortable and user friendly. Sitting on the deck, reading a book and watching the boats come in and out of the harbor is priceless.

My wife and I had a wonderful week at the Rooster Cottage. The house is neat, clean and well appointed. The location provides beautiful views of the harbor, perfect for watching a mix of lobster boats and classic yachts. Both the owner and caretaker were quick to answer any questions we had. We hope to return in the future.

House was exactly as listed. Harbor views were beautiful. We were there during peak foliage change and enjoyed the home on the quiet side.

Rooster cottage was a beautiful little home for us. Not too rustic, not too posh-- just right. The kids loved feeding seagulls from the dock and we even went swimming in the chilly water off the dock. Scrambling down to the rocky shore beneath the dock is rather tricky with small children, but we had fun looking for crabs and finding shells nonetheless. Southwest Harbour is a beautiful little town to explore. The harbour view from the cottage is outstanding whether viewed in morning mist, bright sunshine, evening twilight, or moonlight. Boats are on their way in and out at all times. There is just too much to do on the island in one week! We'll have to go back.

Rooster Cottage is among the very best of the many VRBO properties we have enjoyed. Neat as a pin, well equipped, superior locatiion with extensive, beautiful views of SW Harbor. The private floating dock shared by two lobsterman was an added plus as we kept our rented boat there for immediate access to the Harbor and surrounding islands and waterways. Excellent location just minutes away from the quaint village of SW Harbor and easy, picturesque drives from Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park sites and breathtaking views. The sights and activities of Acadia NP are an absolute must. We enjoyed, eating in, grilling out on the extensive front deck and eating out in the many accessible restaurants in town. We even took in a play at the local theatre up the road in Somesville. In short, an excellent stay in an excellent property and we look forward to returning to Rooster Cottage again soon. Last but not least, owner Morgan was over the top accommodating, welcoming, friendly and helpful; the consumate gentleman and we thorightly enjoyed getting to know him and his delightful wife. A superior property in an outstanding location; you would be hard pressed to do better than this.
