Our family of eight enjoyed our stay at Surf's Up. The house is very conveniently located to the beach access and has a pool. The house is spacious, especially with all of the deck seating areas. I was especially impressed with the well stocked kitchen. There were ample dishes, silverware, serving dishes, and a large variety of pots and pans that made cooking and eating with a family easy. Thank you!

The home was very nice and had everything we needed. It was close to the beach and close to the shopping center that we could go in the golf cart to get things. It was so nice having a pool at the house to use. We had a great vacation with 3 little kids and it even had a high chair and baby gates! Plenty of room for 4 couples to stay and the room with the bunk beds worked great for the kids. Definitely would recommend. Only suggestion would be doing a better job sweeping as there was a lot of pet hair on the floor still, but we did use the vacuum the house had to sweep again.

We realized this house was a pet friendly home and we have stayed in pet friendly homes in the past. This home had a large amount of fur on all floor carpets, upholstery furniture, bedspreads and pillows. Either a better home vacuum or clean carpets. Thank you

I thought the house could have been in a little better condition. Had to place one service call for underwater pool light and spot lights overlooking pool. I also noticed a nail that was sticking halfway out on the front steps. The grass was extremely high when we checked in, but was cut a few days into our stay.
Overall, we had a great time.

Surfs Up was very accommodating for the four of us and our fur babies. The house was very clean and we were able to get in early..thank you that never happens. The distance to the beach was great, short easy walk to beach access. The staff at Shoreline was friendly and accommodating. We left a day early because of Ian but enjoyed our time while we were there. We love the obx and hope to see you next year. The Wolfgongs

This is the 3rd, maybe 4th, time I've rented this house in the last 10 years. It's a nice property in a great location near groceries and shopping, restaurants, etc. This year, to my disappointment (and easily blamed on pandemic/global supply chain issues), the pool pump had a leak causing the pool to lose a lot of water every day. I think the water level issue also prevented the pool cleaned prior/during my stay as it should have been. The hot tub was also inoperable (I was told it will be replaced). The dishwasher was broken and the repair part didn't arrive in time for our use. Other than these issues with items that are prone to have issues on occasion, the house is in good shape and the kitchen is well-equipped. It's a short walk (1.5 blocks) to the beach access and the beach there is lovely. I'll definitely rent this house again in the future.

We had issues with refrigerator and pool heater. However, when we contacted maintenance the response time was quick. We received a refund for the days missed that the pool was not heated in a timely manner. The place was clean and prepared when we arrived. It was set up safely for children. We have 5 grandchildren and although it was cold they had a lot of fun swimming in the pool and enjoying the activity in the area. We loved seeing the wild horses! Anytime you spend time with family it is well worth it and priceless!!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this home for our summer vacation. The location is really great. Close to beach access and to local shopping including a grocery store. Kitchen is well stocked and house is clean. The pool is a great feature!

We had a great week. The house was clean and well stocked and the management company was very responsive! We received detailed instructions before we got there and if there were any problems how and whom to reach out to. Loved that it was pet friendly and did not smell/look like pets were there!! Would definitely recommend this home.

The house could use some improvements but we had a great week!
Cons-The outdoor shower was FULL of sand and unusable, the deck had old nails sticking out so it was very unsafe for small children, the kitchen sink knob was broken and annoying to finagle,
the house could have used a better cleaning before we arrived, and lastly it’s full of unnecessary curtains and old decorations which are annoying for a parent of small children.
Pros- The air conditioner worked amazing, the pool company came to clean and service the pool, there is extra beach accessories, they allow dogs, close to the beach, kitchen was stocked with plates and anything you need to make a meal.

Great beach house. Spacious. Loved the pool and hot tub and the convenience of the decks to the bedrooms which allowed the children to change out of wet suits, ect. The beach access is a very easy walk. The home did lack deep cleaning and general upkeep. Overall, our family enjoyed the home and location!

The listing says that certain items are not included but a lovely welcome package in a reusable insulated grocery bag greeted us when we arrived. It included dish soap, a sponge, a roll of paper towels, toilet paper and tissues, a single use laundry detergent among other items. That was a pleasant surprise!
The kitchen is incredibly well stocked will all kinds of dishes, utensils, pots, pans and serve ware. I was able to easily feed my family without needing to invest in a single kitchen item. In fact, there are 3 types of coffee makers!
The only issue I had, which is unrelated to the property owner, was that the pool had not been cleaned and the bottom was covered in sand. I emailed the management company and within hours a couple came out and made the pool spotless.
If you are looking for a well stocked home, convenient walk to the beach, quick bike ride or drive to the stores, mini golf and lighthouse I highly recommend this home!

Truly enjoyed staying at Surf’s Up! It had everything we needed for a great vacation and more! We had one minor maintenance call and they answered promptly. We will definitely return there next year-maybe try Thanksgiving!

Great Stay
Great location, easy and close access to the beach. The Pool and Hot Tub were amazing on the cold days that we could not go to the beach. The House could use some updating and some of the decks need some attention. The House needs curtains. We all had small children and without the option to darken the room at bedtime and morning they had a hard time getting and staying asleep, White blinds and see through curtains on the sliders just were not enough. It's very bright with all the windows. House is a very short drive to some great restaurants and shopping. We would love to rent this property again!!!

Dog & baby friendly and Great location to the beach!
We enjoyed our stay at this property, good location to the beach. It was great that the property was dog friendly. We reported a couple things to maintenance once we arrived and they showed up literally within 10 minutes so that was awesome. The jets on the hot tub were out and not fixed during our stay so that was a bummer, but overall we had a great time and enjoyed the house! Plenty of room for our family and accommodating for babies as well. Can’t wait to come back to the OBX!

Close to beach, but in need to TLC
The house is in a good location, but really only suitable for 4-6 people, and none of the mattresses are worth sleeping on. The house is falling into disrepair with evidence of water issues on ceilings and walls. Decking is very old and needs restoration and something needs to be done to help manage sand in carport. There are tons of pillows in the house, but the sheet service only covers two per bed.

Nice Place in Corolla
The property is situated in a fairly private location with a vacant lot to one side and foliage in back for privacy with just a couple block walk to beach access. The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed relaxing on the decks in the morning and evenings, watching the beautiful sunsets. Thank you, Jeff

Great Location and House
The house is so close to the beach and our group had a great stay. Even though it rained for the majority of the stay, the house had ample room for us to live comfortably indoors. Everything felt close by. Would definitely stay again.

No Place
We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, more space then we needed for only 5 people. The pool is somewhat small, but clean and a nice alternative to the beach. The kitchen is stocked very generously with everything you will need. It was nice to bring our dog to the house and the beach everyday! Very easy walk to the beach, even if you have small kids. Beautiful and safe neighborhood. Communication was great. We had a little trouble with the tv's not working the first night and they sent someone to fix them the next day. Overall, I would recommend this property and we would stay again!

A great location!
This was our second time at this property. We love the location and proximity to the beach, but also the quietness of the neighborhood. The pool, hot tub, porch and yard fit our kids and dog needs, and we all love the great supply of puzzles!

Such a great time
My family and I really enjoyed Surfs Up. The home is plenty large enough for us and the upper level provides roomy seating both for the living and dining room with extra room in the kitchen for meal prep. The proximity to the beach was great and the pool and hot tub were great for relaxing at home! The rental office was VERY helpful and always available. We couldn't be more pleased.

Beds need updating.
The house layout was nice, and it's location wasn't bad at all being only a block away from beach access. The Pool was an excellent option for enjoying a day away from the crowded beach. The Hot tub however is more like a warm tub, as it doesn't really get up to temperature even when you set it higher. The railings on the upper deck are pretty wobbly and need to be secured. My biggest sticking point is that the beds are in dire need of updating. The old school spring mattress made for some very rough nights of sleep. I also have some questions about the cleanliness of the property given the later check in and early check out to allow the cleaning crew to clean due to covid-19. Dishes were put away dirty, carpets still had sand all over them, and the kitchen needed a good wipedown when we first got there. Overall I think we will be vacationing somewhere else next year.

This was a great house. We had everything we needed. The grill could definitely use an upgrade and other than that the house was very nice and you cannot beat the location and the pool. The pool was well maintained and our family had a blast in the hot tub. We had amazing views of the sunset in the back of the house too.

Great house but needs cleaning....
The house is large and spacious and has lots to offer in terms of location, natural light, number of bathrooms and bedrooms, pool, hot tub, and layout. However, it’s generally in need of TLC and cleaning.
Given the pandemic and the additional time that was communicated by the management office that would be needed to clean the house, the house was subpar from a cleanliness perspective.
Taking the trash out and tidying up are standard prior to checkout. However, to have to clean the kitchen top to bottom before we could unpack, to have to go through the bed linens (blankets) and not be able to use some of them, to have dirty and smelly carpet; and to have to vacuum, sweep, ensure all dishes were cleaned and put away, etc. prior to checkout made it feel like we were doing the lion share of the cleaning. We felt like we left the house a lot cleaner than how we found it. This did not feel like a good business practice in general, and definitely not in a pandemic when the general public expects there has been an extra step in sanitizing and cleaning.

• Lots of windows, natural light
• Lots of deck space
• Nice to have a pool and hot tub
• Good number of bedrooms

• Enough bathrooms and felt clean
Cons:
• Carpet not clean, stained and smelled
• Refrigerator not clean
• Several pieces of silverware and dishes not clean, we felt we had to clean enough items in the dishwasher to feel like we were using clean dishes/silverware/serving bowls/pans, etc.
• Generally, the kitchen was not clean, we had to wipe down everything (Counters, refrigerator, knobs, etc) - lots of dust and dirt
• Kitchen trash can lids and inside the cans were soiled and grimy
• King bedroom blankets had holes in them and dirty
• One of the queen bedroom blankets smelled, couldn't use them
• To abide by the checkout procedures, we vacuumed before leaving, however, the vacuum canister was full of dirt and dust and spewed out which just made it worse.
• Decking in need of repair, several boards are bowed and have nails popping up, not safe. It’s very worn and splintery, felt like we couldn’t walk it without flip flops on.

We had a great stay at this location. Location was great. Short walk to the beach. Pool was clean and refreshing. House had plenty of supplies in kitchen. Management company was very responsive to our call. We could not find grill tools and they brought out a new set to us. We eventually found the tools...sorry. A notebook or sheet with a list of items and their location, how to work TVs (not that we watched much at at) would be really helpful. House have 2 types of coffee makers (filters included). Excellent stay!

Great Beach house for the family.
This was a great house for our family vacation. Having a pool & close access to the beach was a huge bonus. My only negative would be the cleanliness of the house. The a/c vents in the living room above the sliding doors are very dirty and so are all the blades on the ceiling fans, covered in very visible dirt and dust There was a huge cobweb from the light over the dining table to the centerpiece on the dining table. The door of the microwave oven looks like it's never been cleaned..
