Large house with lovely gardens. Very clean and well equipped, having a car helped as it’s a bit far to walk to town all the time. Very happy with our stay, kids loved it

Heat lacking in home
I love so many things about this home, but the lack of avaliable heat really dampered my love. There are the two mentioned fireplaces for heat sources, and no wood was provided for a fire on nights that dipped into the 30's F. Our late arrival didn't allow for a firewood run, although I will say Zarela was very kind to go pick up chicken for us that evening so we were fed and she may have helped to arrange firewood too if we had caught the issue sooner. She arranged for firewood the second night after our guide called her to insist that should have been provided with our stay.
The bedrooms were chilly the second night as well, but plenty of covers were provided. Space heaters for the bedrooms would be nice. I also wasn't sure if it was appropriate to use the bedroom fireplace since it didnt look used or have fire making materials.
The place is lovely and could be so much more with a bit of refreshing. We'd have appreciated more than one pillow per person and not having to sleep on scratchy decorative pillowcases. Some of the light bulbs provided a strobe effect in the hallway and could be replaced, and lighting in general was dimmer than I'd prefer. Water could be warmer.
But otherwise this was a nice place to relax after busy days exploring the Sacred Valley. The grounds were lovely and the rooms nicely apportioned. The owner is super sweet and Zarela is helpful. If they can address the heating or you come at a warmer time of the year I'd recommend it.

Quiet and peaceful, perfect location!
We loved the quiet and peacefulness of this home; plenty of space to relax indoors and outside in the beautiful garden. The location is very convenient to walking to town for supplies or restaurants or even walking to the train station for our trip to Mach Pichu.
Breakfast and evening meals prepared by Zarela were great to start and end our days of exploring the wonders of the Sacred Valley. The best part of our trip was spending time with Isaias (our guide recommended by Cathy) experiencing the beauty of the mountains and valley; words can not express the beauty you will find here. We loved waking up to beautiful mountain scenery every morning. and touring and hiking the lovely Valley. Perfection! We would love to visit again and stay right here!
Cathy was also very helpful and accommodating when our plans went astray and we needed to check in a day early-her response to a stressed traveler was "nothing is impossible"-just what we needed to hear!

Comfortable stay.
The location is excellent, i.e. in the middle of all the major attractions and relatively lower altitude compared to other area. House is huge and quiet and is within walking distance to the store. The market is very interesting to visit. Catherine , the owner, was very helpful to connect us with a local guide , Edwin. Edwin has a nice van and he looked after all our needs the whole time (5 days) including airport pick up and drop off; Private day trips to the major attractions on 2 days; pick up and drop off to the train station on the day to Machu Picchu; helping us to buy machu Picchu admission and bus ticket; helping us to find currency exchange and shop for food. Edwin was very attentive to our need and interest and we were able to see the best scenery of Cusco area. The onsite care-taker, Zarella was able to get us some basic food items prior our arrival which was very helpful. She also cooked two lovely meals for us. The only thing I want to suggest is to improve the lighting inside the house.

Great, Great, GREAT Place! The only place to stay in the Sacred Valley!
Cathy's place is the best! She was so helpful in providing helpful hints for travel and touring in Peru, from getting thru the airport, to what to see and what to miss if you are on a tight schedule. The property is much larger than what is shown in the pictures. Beds were comfy and plenty warm. A little chilly in the mornings, but nothing that the space heaters couldn't take care of.
We also hired Isaias as a driver and tour guide for 3 of our 4 days here. He picked us up at the airport, helped us do some shopping in Cusco, before heading down to Urubamba and got us all settled. He dropped us off and picked us up at the train to Machu Pichuu our first day, and was our tour guide for the two days after that. Very knowledgable in the ancient history of the Incas and native Indians.
Property also has an on site manager, Zarella, who will also shop & provide meals for you on request. Highly recommend at least one or two meals. We had her cook her Loma Saltonado! Superb!
Even though we will likely not get back to Peru, we'd stay here again in a heart beat!
Thanks Cathy for sharing your lovely vacation home with us.

Wonderful property and people!
I highly recommend this comfortable and relaxing home for a visit to the Sacred Valley! My family recently spent several days exploring the beautiful Valley and surrounding sites and were so happy to come home to this lovely spot and delicious home-cooked food by Zarela at the end of every day. Cathy, the owner, was so helpful in recommending things to do and alleviating my worries about keeping my 4 teenagers fed and entertained! She also connected us to a wonderful guide and driver, Edwin, who made us feel very comfortable and showed us many of the highlights and out-of-the way places we never would have discovered on our own. We had an amazing trip that included Macchu Piccu, horseback riding, visiting an animal sanctuary, and eating cuy like a local. We had a wonderful and unforgettable visit - so grateful to Cathy, Edwin, and Zarela!

perfect home for exploring Sacred Valley
We landed in Cusco and headed straight to the house, perfect for acclimating to the altitude. The house was roomy and comfortable and the gardens and mountain views were gorgeous. Cathy arranged a driver, Isaias, who picked us up at the airport and was available for us during our entire stay for very reasonable fee. He took us to explore Pisac, Ollyantaytambo, to and from train station when we went to Machu Picchu, through Moray, stopping for pictures, whatever we wanted to do, just a great guide! Zarela made us breakfast each day and a couple dinners upon request as well. Again, very reasonable fee and she did the shopping and preparation. She is a sweet lady and wonderful cook. We took some DVDs to watch in the evenings, but ended up reading by the fireplace instead. So cozy!
I highly recommend Cathy's house. She was quick to answer questions, and make sure we were all set.
Thank you, Cathy. We loved it!

The house is beautiful, fully equipped, and perfectly situated to explore all the sights.
We stayed for a week with my self, my husband and two children aged 8 and 10. The house was perfect! We spent our evenings unwinding by the fireplace and mornings reading in bed before heading out to explore the area.
The beds are great and beding is wonderfully warm and comfortable. Zarela lives in a house on the property and was helpful with our needs. She is even willing to prepare home cooked meals for a very reasonable price. It was wonderful to come home to dinner prepared after spending the day hiking.
Cathy connected us to Isais who is a local guide. Again for a reasonable price he was willing to take us throughout the area and really help us absorb the culture. He was a wonderful guide and translator. He is also just a really great person that we enjoyed getting to know.
Cathy was wonderfully responsive and helpful whenever we needed something. I would highly recommend this gem!

Great Private Getaway
Great property nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Great location offering privacy and not far from local shopping etc. Conveniently located close to main city to catch train to Machu Picchu. House Keeper was great, she made a few meals for my family and I, and they were great. Overall, my family and I LOVED the house. I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely property. We had a guide that was recommended by the owner of the property. Isaas was a great resource for information on the area. He was well versed in the various customs and knew the hot spots to take us. His laid back attitude was great, giving us time to see the sights, but also to shop and enjoy some of the great food the area had to offer. He made the experience memorable and I will never forget it.

Excellent Vacation Home to live like a local
This is a gem of a property that enables you to truly live like a local. There are 3 wonderful and well kept bedrooms, a large living room and 2 full baths. The kitchen is very large and well stocked with appliances to enable a grand entertainment. The property has beautiful fruit and rose trees and excellent views of the mountains.Cathy the owner is very very helpful and has a lot of local contacts to facilitate a perfect stay. She had all tips and went over and beyond in providing information on best places to stay and eat not just in Sacred Valley but also in Lima. Isias our tour guide that works with Cathy is also very knowledgeable and enabled us to quickly revise our schedule when there was a strike. He personally came to Peru Rail to help change our reservations and arranged for a cab to take us to another station and also stored our luggage in his car during our trip to Machu Picchu. Isias also took us to a local brewery to taste the chicha. Cathy also recommended our driver in Lima ( Eduardo). At the site is also a caretaker, Zarela, who can prepare delicious home cooked meals. Her children are adorable. We truly felt like locals completely take care of with all the personal touches. We wish we could go back again. We have extremely fond memories of our stay and would love to stay again

Wonderful location to visit the Sacred Valley
Our family of 6 had the pleasure of staying in this spacious home for 5 days while touring the beautiful Sacred Valley. Cathy, the owner, was very helpful in planning the details leading up to our trip. Her friend and tour guide, Isaias, became like part of our family. I highly recommend using him to see the Sacred Valley through the eyes of a long time resident. Isaias' passion and enthusiasm for his country allowed us to learn about the history and culture of this fabulous country in a way that would not otherwise have been possible.
The house is located in Urubamba, within walking distance to the market and restaurants. We felt at home and safe the entire time. Zarela, the caretaker on site, made us 2 wonderful meals for a minimal charge. Her daughters were precious and our kids enjoyed playing with them in the lovely yard. Thank you to Cathy and Isaias for making this such a memorable trip for our family.

Gorgeous home - the perfect place for exploring the Sacred Valley
This was so much more than just a house for us! The owner, Cathy, was incredibly generous with her time and knowledge of the area and helped us plan our entire trip to the Sacred Valley, day by day, before we even arrived. She even arranged for shopping to be done so we had fresh food waiting for us. The house itself was gorgeous, with mountains surrounding, comfortable beds, peruvian art and ceramics from a wellknown local artist and a lovely garden. It was perfectly situated in Urubamba, for all the wonderful sites of the Scared Valley. Isaias, recommended by Cathy, was our trusted guide for the week, very knowledgable and with excellent English. He developed a wonderful bond with our kids (ages 6, 4 and 2 yrs) and instinctively knew how to make every excursion enjoyable for them and for us. The kids are still asking when is Isaias coming again in his car to pick us up! Zarela, the caretaker who lives in a small cottage on site, helped us shop at the local markets and cooked wonderful meals for us. Her young girls were a delight and our kids played together with hers for many hours. I couldn't have imagined having such a rich experience as we had during our week in the Sacred Valley. We were sad to leave and I very much hope we can return someday! I would recommend Cathy, her house and Isaias unreservedly.

A perfect home base for a family visit to the Sacred Valley
We are a family of 4 (our kids are 6 & 8yrs). Cathy's home in Urubamba was a perfect base in the Sacred Valley for our family vacation:
1. Cathy the owner - She is lovely and we talked and emailed several times (at her suggestion) to help coordinate the details. She is generous with her time and contacts. She has a network of trusted people on the ground who help make your logistics a lot easier. I am a VERY seasoned traveler in Latin America, and found logistics in Peru challenging...Cathy helped a lot.
2. Zarela -Zarela is the housekeeper who lives on a cottage on the grounds, and she is a gem. For a moderate fee, she will shop for some staples for you so you have a few items in the fridge when you arrive, or cook dinner at night. She is an excellent cook and having the option of not cooking/ not going to a restaurant at night was WONDERFUL. We had her dinners nightly.
3. Isaias - Cathy has a great relationship with a bright, charming local guide, Isaias, who has perfect English, his own car, and is very pleasant and well informed. He helped us plan a few days of private tours and he immediately gauged our interests and walking skills (with 2 little kids). He showed us AMAZING ruins at Pisac that no one else seemed to be visiting. We also wanted to visit schools (with our girls) and he arranged a visit at his grand children's school (very liberal and middle class) and then to a mountain local school with children in traditional dress from small villages. Both were experiences that my kids loved.
4. Urubamba - I really enjoyed staying in Urubamba because it is very centrally located, right in the middle of the Sacred Valley. It was only a short (20 min) ride to Ollantay for the train to MP, and to see the ruins there. We did a day trip into Cusco and that was more than enough. We had a spectacular day of horseback riding with a woman-owned business at a ranch in Urubamba (cuscoforyou.com), and that was a true highlight (gorgeous horses, organic lunch!). Also, the house is a quick 5 minute walk to the collectivo/taxi/bus station depo in Urubamba (and also the nearby produce market) so it is easy to run and get fruit or a taxi if you need it.
5. The house - this is a very rustic region, yet the house was adorable and VERY comfortable. The hot water is propane on demand. Water bubbler provided. Fresh flowers everywhere. Excellent beds. Can't wait to return!

Perfect Getaway!
We stayed at this house during the last week of February. There are really no words that can express how beautiful this home is. The pictures really don't do it justice. Catherine was great to work with and really helped us work out all of the details to make our trip amazing. Isaias was the gentleman she recommended to use as a guide, not only did he help us navigate a strike that was taking place, he provided us with the most incredible day trips. We were able to see so much of the Valley and Cusco and experience some great Peruvian culture. I would highly recommend Isaias to anyone who stays in this house or is visiting Cusco. He met us at the Airport and from then on he taught us so much about this great culture. Isaias is a great person and wonderful at his job, he was able to get to know our group quickly and tailored our getaways to meet our needs! He also arranged for an awesome english speaking guide (Rudy) for our trip to Machu Pichu. We were also fortunate to meet Zarela and her family (also through Catherine). Upon our arrival we had arranged to have Zarela cook us dinner, it was incredible! She had even picked up a birthday cake as we were celebrating a birthday that evening. On day three of our stay we were dealing with some difficulties with transportation (again due to the strike). Zarela and her family were kind enough to let us use their phone to speak with Isaias and make arrangements. That day a car was unable to get to us as the roads were shut down, Juvenile (Zarela's) husband walked with us 3 miles to meet Isaias just so we didn't get lost! The hospitality that we were shown upon our arrival to Cusco until the day we left was more then incredible. My husband and I left our camera charger at the house and Isaias and Zarela were able to get it to us at our hotel in Cusco in less then a day. Our trip to Cusco will be one that I never forget. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet this amazing group of people.

Best Place to Stay in Sacred Valley
This gorgeous house in Sacred Valley was perfect for our group of six. It is very spacious, has a full kitchen with microwave, oven, coffee maker, hot water maker, etc. It was fully equipped with everything that made us feel at home. The mattresses, linens, bedding, fresh towels, soap, shampoos, were more than we expected. We loved the fire places and the traditional art on the walls. The walled in garden was amazing and the house was filled with vases of fresh flowers upon our arrival. Can't say enough about this place. The best part were the people who took care of us. The owner who lives in the States made me feel so welcome from the very start and we had a lovely exchange via email. Once we got to Peru, we were taken care of too. Zarella (the caretaker) and Isaias (the driver/guide) made our dream trip to Peru come true. Isa arranged for us to go to various ruins and we even had the opportunity to hike to an unknown Incan ruin nearby and meet a shaman who performed a private ceremony and offering to Pachamamma (Mother Earth) for us. Isa also arranged for a live band to perform for us in the house and Zarella cooked a homemade Peruvian candlelight dinner! Both Zarella and Isa became our fast friends and we can't forget the experiences they helped create for us. Isa also helped arrange our amazing Machu Picchu trip over Salkantay Glacier, arranged hotels for us in Cusco after the trek, and even drove us all the way to Puno and came with us on a boat trip on Lake Titicaca to Amantani Island where we stayed with a traditional family as part of a homestay. Just amazing experiences. Isa is so knowledgeable about Peru and speaks English very well. He's a HUGE bonus to staying at this house. You'll never experience this side of Peru staying anywhere else. Highly recommend it and can't say enough about our trip! We are so grateful and humbled and are still talking about our amazing time. Thanks Cathy and everyone for making our dream trip come true!

Wonderful stay in the Sacred Valley
We have a tremendous visit to Urubamba and the many sites in the Sacred Valley, Cuzco and Machu Pichu. Cathy's house was just perfect - spacious, quiet and with everything we needed. We would highly recommend it for families or friends as a great base for travels in this spectacular part of Peru. She recommended Isais, who was a wonderful tour guide and source of unbounded knowledge and enthusiasm. We can't wait to return!

Comfortable
We absolutely loved staying here. The property is wonderful. It is spacious, beautifully decorated , clean, and allows for a great family experience. The beds were so warm and comfortable. We all had very good night sleep. In short, the house has everything you need to stay comfortable while you travel.
Cathy the owner, were not only kind but offered us assistance on visiting Peru, purchasing tickets, finding a tour guide and etc. She helped us to find a very clean and comfortable apartment in Cuzco.
Cathy was helpful with all my questions and did the best to make sure we had everything we needed.

Loved every minute
Words can't adequately describe our stay. This is a fabulous home to stay in. It is centrally located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It was easy to take day trips to Cuzco, Olantaytambo, Pisac , Chincheros, Moray, Solineras and of course, Machu Pichu! The home is spacious, beautifully decorated with original Peruvian artwork and very comfortable with all of the amenities needed for a week's stay. The kitchen was very well equipped with dishes, pots, pans, spices and appliances. The beds were very comfortable, the living room had comfy couches and chairs, and the wifi was much appreciated. The property is walled in with a locked gated entry so safety and security was never a concern. The gardens are massive, with a huge variety of beautiful flowering plants and fruit trees to enjoy.
By far, the best aspect of this rental was the communication, hospitality and advance planning by the owner, Cathy. She is a jewel and went out of her way that all of our needs were met and our expectations were exceeded. This is the perfect home to relax in and to have a quiet and peaceful location to enjoy the many wonders of the Sacred Valley. Thank you, Cathy!

Loved, Loved this home/ Great location/ Very peaceful and Beautiful surroundings
Wow, the pictures on website are nice, but wow much nicer in person. We loved this home and what a great value for what you get, it's well worth more. The owner was so kind and helped with so many questions of mine, I can't thank her enough, she made our trip so much more enjoyable and easier. The home was huge and very clean and was extremely comfortable. This home is in the valley so you have the mountains surrounding you on all sides. There is a caretaker nearby to help with anything you may need, he was great to have nearby to bring us more water, etc. Also, owner suggested a personal driver to pick us up at airport ( she knows him well), well what a kind gentleman and very helpful too, spoke great english and did many things for us and saved us lots of time, like get tickets for bus and helped us get our Machu Picchu tickets, drove us to train station, and many other things; he was very trustworthy too. This home is well worth the price and you will be glad you choose this beautiful home in the sacred valley.

Great property
This home is amazing. We loved the gardens with fruit trees, cactus and a multitude of different plants. The house was a perfect place to come back to after visiting the many spectacular sites in the region. It was easy to get into the town of Urubamba and we loved the markets. Our guide picked us up at the airport and the ride to this home was amazing beyond words. We ate dinner at Tres Keros and it was excellent. Cathy will answer your questions and provided excellent information on the area. I highly recommend this property.

Excellent property
This home is situated in the center of the Sacred Valley so the location was perfect. We would walk to the market in Urubamba to get fresh fruit and vegetables but often would stay to enjoy watching the locals selling some of everything. This home is comfortable and much bigger than we had anticipated. A gentleman by the name of Isaias met us at the airport and was a fantastic guide and was able to take us to places off the beaten path. Cathy provided us with information far beyond the scope of renting her lovely home. I highly recommend this property.
