Reviewer Comments: Realize this unit is right off the beach and pool, but the tile floors need replacing. Our bare feet were dirty the first day and we had to wear shoes the rest of the week. Furniture is also in need of a steam cleaning or replaced. Walls definitely need painted after this season. Washer (looked new) and dryer worked well, but dishwasher did not dry the dishes and we had to towel dry...something I did not want to do on vacation. Dishes were also a mishmash, but I guess we had everything we needed. Sliding door handle was loose, but we found a tool to tighten it temporarily. Drawer fronts in bathrooms kept falling off. We were disappointed the pool closed early and opened late and the fire pits were seasonal.

Reviewer Comments: Pros: Beachfront, Ground floor unit with easy access from patio to pool and beach, spacious unit, complex grounds are beautifully landscaped, location on the island- very central.Cons: I have been staying in Ocean One for over 20 years and this is the first unit that has been a large disappointment in many ways. 3 out of 5 major appliances were not in working order. Dishwasher: Water does not heat up so dishes remain greasy after wash cycle. The advice the management company gave was to run the hot water in the kitchen sink prior to running dishwasher. My advice: install a properly working dishwasher, no one wants to do workarounds on their vacation. Washing Machine: Spin cycle is very, very noisy and thus does not spin and clothes in washer remain soaking wet after a wash cycle completes. We stayed for 2 weeks in this unit and after the first week the management company stopped contacting me back about replacing the washing machine. If you want to do laundry on this vacation, don't book this unit, you'll not have a working washer. Dryer: Take 3.5 hours or more to dry clothes- whether due to ineffective ventilation or that clothes are too wet after washing machine cycle- you'll spend a lot of time waiting for your beach towels to dry. Other cons: Bathroom cabinet faces are falling off the drawers; there is peeling paint on several walls; mattress are old and uncomfortable; kitchen is il-equipped with cheap/in-expensive kitchen items. As a note, the pool at the complex closes at sundown (around 8:30pm)- which is earlier than I ever remember it closing. We attempted both in email and in phone calls to have the management company address the problems including remuneration for rental fees and the management company stopped contacting us back. I'm unimpressed. Save yourself the headache by selecting a different option.

I understand that renting a unit on the Ocean with sand and suntan lotion can be a challenge but they made that decision to rent so they need to step up and update the unit. Walk to restaurants and shops, and RBC shuttle. Condo is spacious with a great view of ocean. Pool was nice, and fire pits a huge plus. Could use some updates, but was clean and had every we needed. Loved having a washer and dryer. Will stay again.

We liked the unit and it’s location on the HHI beach. Six of us girlfriends enjoyed breakfast and happy hour on the patio. It was great to just walk from patio to pool to beach. The beds were all comfortable and the 3 full bathrooms were clean. Very quiet and parking at end of October was plentiful.

Word to the wise, make sure you get trip insurance that covers weather. Ian closed the HHH airport for 2 days so all of our flights were canceled. HHI was under a hurricane warning and a surge warning. The property managers were unwilling to reschedule our trip for another time so we are just out all of the money.

Great location beside pool and beach access. Condo was fairly clean, but in major need of updates/deep cleaning. Drawer front in bathroom missing, drapery rods coming out of the walls, mold/mildew between shower curtains in bathrooms. Was fine if you “don’t look too close”.

There was dust over grease on the kitchen cabinets and microwave. The microwave is rusted inside. There is a ceramic tile floor everywhere except the bedrooms. The grout is black. It’s supposed to be white. The ceiling in one bedroom looked like it was falling down. The walls in the unit had many scuff marks. There was a very large clump of hair in the drain preventing the tub from draining in one bathroom. One drawer front in the same bathroom is inside the drawer. The shower head in this same bath is cracked. Another bathroom had a large hump on the bottom of the tub that made drainage slow. There was a brand new single rollaway bed that we needed to utilize. We had to assemble it to use it. Mattresses were very soft. Curtain rod in one bedroom is loose. The furniture is dirty. For the amount of money it costs to stay here I would not recommend it to a friend in its present condition.

Wonderful stay! This unit has the best layout in Ocean One with the two master suites having patio access on the first floor. It was perfect for a week in HHI with my family and my parents.

This is a wonderful location-short walk to beach and local shops. We had a group of 8 staying, and there was plenty of room for all. There were extra pull out beds in the closet that were a pleasant surprise. The condo itself could use a little updating-especially bathrooms, but it was overall clean, comfortable, and convenient. It was well-stocked with kitchen appliances, cookware and such, allowing us to enjoy meals and snacks right there. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

We traveled in an off-peak time and felt really enjoyed the roominess of the entire unit. The biggest downside were some basic updates that could be made as well as the shower/tub units. Small details like light switches, electrical panels and vents seemed like the originals. The rugs and shower curtains in the bathrooms could be interchanged more frequently. These small updates can make a big difference! Overall, we were satisfied with the unit.

The size and location of this condo is just awesome. But unfortunately the floors throughout are disgusting and the reason there’s no picture of the kitchen is because the countertops are really outdated. The toilet in the master would run at random times and was really loud. We found 4 cockroaches which is not very common in February (we live in SC and understand Palmetto Bugs) so overall we cannot recommend anyone stay in this unit.

Spacious, decently equipped, and a great location. Many updates & minor repairs would greatly improve this place. Several light fixtures are broken or have burnt out bulbs. Cracks in the tub in the master bedroom are especially unappealing. Some deep cleaning is needed! Beds were comfortable & plenty of bathroom towels.

The location was great. The pool and beach area were wonderful. The condo needed some help. Most of the closet doors didn’t work or were missing handles. The screen on the slider was ridiculous and didn’t slide. The master tub was cracked and very bouncy … you were just waiting to fall through. The microwave was all cracked and peeling on the inside. Missing lots of utensils (silverware, hot pads). We would probably think twice before renting this again.

Great location and clean. Prefect for my family. Easy access to Coligny Plaza and shopping. Right on beach. Will definitely stay here again.

The location was excellent. Building and pool were extremely nice and grounds were kept up and beautiful.The unit 119 needs to be updated/bathrooms were very aged and the tile floors needed a major cleaning.Furniture was adequate but also dated.Beds were very comfortable. One major problem we had/palmetto bugs aka cockroaches /woke up Monday morning with no less than 8 dead ones in the unit on the tile floors/Tuesday morning found another/Wednesday found another. Called property management Monday morning/came out within 30 minutes and cleaned up the dead ones monday/didn’t call Tuesday or Wednesday. They sent someone to spray again Monday/maintenance man/not an exterminator.This is a major issue with us and our friends who stayed with us.We are very concerned about bring these critters back to our homes if they got into any of our stuff.Thats one issue we should not have to be worried about when staying at a VRBO.would love to have someone reach out to me to further

We love Ocean One so much, but this is the first time we've rented a ground floor condo. We rented two next to one another for our group of 13. It was perfection. The condo was well kept and served our needs. Would be nice if more beach equipment or towels were provided, but we brought our own and it was fine. I would also love to see the back and forth with the rental company be more seamless through VRBO, but all in all it was a perfect stay. We'll be back!
