This apartment is run by a lovely local family. They’re very helpful and friendly. The location is superb, right on Paynes Bay, a few metres away from the sea :) the kitchen has all you need, the bedrooms have air-conditioning. I’d say pretty perfect! We will definitely come back.

Madeline & William were fantastic hosts, we loved our stay it was relaxing the location is amazing and we had sun beds put out for us daily. We hope to return soon.

When you stay in this apartment you are truly in Barbados next to the beach. You intermingle with the natives who are very kind and helpful especially William the owner who took care of our needs. Nice man. Great place. We would return.

The apartment is meters from the beach my son in law cooked breakfast for me everyday that we had on the balcony overlooking the Caribbean it had too good sized bedrooms with a bathroom each a well stocked bar on the beach with hot and cold food all the staff were very friendly and helpful with a sense of humour hope to be back in September , thank you all for making us welcome. William and Madeline went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We checked in at supper time and William even drove us to a nearby restaurant and returned to pick us up afterwards. In the morning, the bar and grill on the beach behind the property provided a great place for some delicious food and drinks. We’d love to return and stay longer !

Madalane and Copper were great hosts. Copper drove us to the grocery store when we arrived. They provide beach chairs and umbrellas for their guests.When the fridge broke they replaced it the same day. They run a small beach bar and restaurant by the apartment which was very good and reasonably priced. The beach is excellent for swimming. We used the bus to get around, they come very frequently. We had a great time.

Basic but very clean, spacious apartment within metres of the most beautiful beach! Sun beds and umbrellas out ready for us every day. Lovely little beach bar for meals and drinks. The owners, William and Madalyn were a delight, and answered any questions we had. Our only problem was locating the property as we arrived at night. This property is just off the main road, not up Holders Hill. If you want a no frills beach holiday, this place is simply perfect.

You couldn't ask for more welcoming hosts or a more convenient apartment to enjoy Paynes Beach. The apartment was perfect for our family of four and we thoroughly enjoyed our few nights here. Our only regret was not spending more time here. Especially for our daughter, the cats and kittens were a highlight of our travels - especially "Mongoose". Thanks!

Madaline was an excellent host and made us fell very welcomed and comfortable. Damien went over and above to set us up on the beach with comfortable lounge chairs and umbrella. For those who will use the “directions” in the VRBO note that the property is on the main road not on the hill. Host was very good to direct us when we called. Thanks again!

Spacious and well furnished with AC in the bedrooms. The owner, William ("Copper Cat") is very friendly and helpful. There are two supermarkets within a 5 minute drive as well as a few restaurants for takeaway. (Covid restrictions hampered dining in) Only negatives are that the kitchen sink got clogged twice (Copper was good about getting it working) and the beach bar just outside the bedroom and livingroom windows played rather loud music most of the day. Overall, a very good value.

My wife and I had a great time in Barbados. William and Madaline were perfect hosts. The location of the apartment can't be beat being close to the beach, shopping areas and restaurants. We are already planning our next trip back!

We had a wonderful time staying at Holders Hill. Madaline greeted us on arrival and showed us about the spacious apartment. She had stocked the refrigerator with some drinks that were greatly appreciated. The next day we walked to the grocery store for some supplies and then spent the afternoon on the beach, trying out the Gazebo food, swimming in the delightful Caribbean, and lounging on the beach chairs under an umbrella that they supplied. If you decide to take advantage of this wonderful apartment and locale be sure to remember your sunscreen, insect repellent, shampoo and soap.

We would have liked to stayed longer.

We just experienced a short but great time in Barbados. Madeline and William were very nice. The beach is just steps away. We did not have a car so we used the local buses which were inexpensive and convenient. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. Mr. Vics was a great time with Tony on the steel drums. We also purchased fresh fish from a local place within easy walking distance. Overall the apartment is great value and we would stay there again.

Great location, beachfront, friendly helpful beach vendors. I loved sitting on my beachfront patio drinking my coffee every morning. And there was an incredible breeze throughout the apartment.

We spent eight nights and were very pleased with the experience. Madaline and William were always available when we had questions and went above and beyond in making this trip relaxing. We failed to make advance reservations for a rental car and Madaline was able to help us out and find one -- even during this extremely busy time of year. The apartment is in a perfect location for seeing the island and is near grocery stores and restaurants. The beach is literally steps away and it was so great having our beach chairs waiting for us every day. We were treated to a fantastic authentic Christmas meal from the beach grill they operate and enjoyed watching New Years Eve fireworks from our balcony overlooking the beach. We definitely recommend this rental -- it is a no frills place but perfect for a beach getaway.

We spent 5 days in the 1-st floor apartment in the authentic Caribbean house. Madaline, her husband - the owners - and the whole staff are friendly, helpful and provided us with many useful information conc. the island. Western location was a great advantage for trips with a rental car to all western and northern points of interests – beaches, Holetown, Cherry Tree Hill etc. The lovely place was just right for what we needed. Two bedroom apartment was good equipped and maintained, the location was good and secure. We ate out most of the time for dinner, but prepared our own breakfast. The balcony, beach bar in the front and reserved sunbeds with umbrella were a nice bonus... We enjoyed our stay there! Jiri & Petr

Perfect location, in the night you can sleep with the sound of the sea, ... and some roosters ;-). You're at 30 mt. from your beach umbrella, and 40 from Caribe. In this space The Gazebo, perfect for rum punch and lunch. Dont' worry at 6 p.m. is closed. Behind the house there's "BUS Stop to and out the City". Besides 100 mt to South Mr. Vic Restaurant (USD 100 in 2 for a good dinner). Other 100 mt. , beyond gas station, a Roti Restaurant (USD 30 in 2 for a good lunch). In the same direction, but along shoreline, after 500 mt a caratterisic fish market, eggs, fruit and veggie (11 am to 7 pm). For supermarket it's better a car or bus. What else? ;-) The apartment is big enought for our 2 iSUP 12,6 and 8, clean (twice p.w.) and full furnished, wonderfull little terrace. The stove is elettric, and is very different the gas sistem. There's a car park. When you arrive from airport (south), after gas station of Paynes, there's,on the right side, a little grey church. Thanks to Madaline, William, daughter and all family for assistence and for the wonderful holyday. Cos'altro? ;-) L'appartamento è abbastanza grande per i nostri 2 iSUP 12,6 e 8, pulito (due volte p.w.) e completamente arredato, piccolo terrazzo meraviglioso. La stufa è elettrica, ed è molto diversa dal sistema a gas. C'è un parcheggio. Quando arrivi dall'aeroporto (sud), dopo la stazione di servizio di Paynes, c'è, sul lato destro, una piccola chiesa grigia. Grazie a Madaline, William, figlia e tutta la famiglia per l'assistenza e per la meravigliosa vacanza.

This is a very nice apartment - clean and roomy two bedroom/baths and nice view.right on the beach - Great location - very expensive hotels to either side! Madaline and William were great hosts - they are on the property to help with any issues. The beach is beautiful and Gazebo Beach Bar in right in front of Apt for drinks and food. We had a great time!! Would recommend Tapestry restaurant for breakfast and Vic's for dinner.

Madaline and William were excellent hosts. Very comfortable for 4 people with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, spacious lounge/kitchen area and a lovely balcony. The first night Madaline drove us to a local and excellent restaurant which was appreciated as we were exhausted. Every morning we woke to sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach - no rushing to secure. All our requests were met with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful vacation. We've stayed here a few times now, and this time was just as delightful. Madaline and William are wonderful hosts. The apartment is in a great location - right on the beach and it's very easy to get around from there. We enjoyed having meals on the deck, looking out to sea, watching the hummingbirds and kingfishers, not to mention, the beautiful Caribbean Sea. The Gazebo bar serves delicious food and the best rum punches. The Gazebo food truck has a great daily menu of local dishes. I highly recommend that you try them. Every staff member was warm and friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of. If you like water sports you must try the paddle boarding. I did for the first time and had a great teacher. There is also great snorkeling right off the beach. I really can't wait to return to my Haven Away From Home. Many thanks to Madaline, William and all the staff for making my stay so enjoyable.

My family and I arrived to Barbados three hours before check-in time, and Madaline graciously told us it was fine to come. She directly spoke to the taxi driver, and we had no problem finding the property. When we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by William who took us inside. The place is just as it shown, beautiful and clean. When the door to the balcony was opened, what a beautiful breath taking view of the sea; a 2 minute walk to jump in. During the day,there is a lovely sea breeze that keeps the apartment cool. There is AC in the two bedrooms, and they work very well (not noisy). The Wifi reception was excellent as well. As courtesy, William took us to the shoipping center, where there is a Large supermarket,, bank, pharmacy etc., and even dropped us off at church on Saturday morning (SDA). The island's transportation run right in front of the apartment, and it takes about 15 minutes to get to Bridgetown. There are a good few delicious eateries nearby as well. Madaline has a food truck, and the food is very tasty! Even though my family and I did not do many activities on the lovely beach, there is plenty to do. We had no problem at this stay. We approved!! I loved that I could wake up and walked to the beach

Rented a car from the airport and began the journey with my wife and daughter to our destination on Payne's Bay on the west coast. It was very difficult to find the Tamarind Tree Apt as the sign was not easily visible from the road. We had to ask a taxi driver for help. When we arrived at the apt our first impression of the house was not the best. The front of the house looked like an unkempt storage facility with stuff strewn all over the place and I must admit I was very concerned that this is where I brought my family to spend March Break. However, we were met by William (owner) and he immediately made us feel at home. William took us to our upstairs apt and when we walked in, we were so pleasantly surprised and literally blown away by how clean and comfortable our accommodation was. It was very roomy and neat with a steady strong Caribbean breeze blowing through and through. The bathrooms were spotless and the kitchen was adequate. The view from the front porch of the Caribbean Sea was spectacular. A simple walk down from the apt leads onto the sandy beach. The water was stunning and warm, ideal for swimming and spending long hours. All water sports activities were easily available right in front of the apt. From jet skiing to paddle boarding to snorkeling to swimming with the turtles to kayaking, is literally on your doorsteps. Drinks and sandwiches are easily available from the cabanas in front the apt. Our host, William, was always available and ready to make our stay happier. We had beach chairs and umbrellas ready for us as soon as we went down each morning. My daughter rated the accommodation and holiday an 11 out of 10. Without a doubt, we will choose the Tamarind Tree Apt again for our next visit.

Are host and hostess were very generous. When we arrived we were given food and drink as a welcome. The hospitality could not have been better. This was a real find and wonderful place to be. Without question we would return.

The apartment is a good value if you want to be on the beach but not pay resort prices. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The town is a 5 minute bus ride to get supplies. There are a few reaturants in walking distance.

First impression at the entrance to the property was "unwelcoming". The apartment itself is basic but comfortable and the fact that it has 2 bathrooms is a plus. However little missing items indicated unpreparedness or perhaps lack of attention. Sorry to say but the garden area was also unexpectedly unsightly. Not much to do to make it better. The owner did email email me after our departure saying she was sorry that she was unable to meet with me as she was unwell at the time. One other thing, the building is located on the left just .03km from the gas station at the bottom of Holders Hill - travelling North on Highway 1. The sign in the photo was not visible at the time of our nighttime arrival.
