This villa is in the most spectacular position, even better than the website photographs convey. The charming hosts were very helpful, accommodating a delayed arrival, and communications were exemplary. The villa is spotlessly clean and very well-equipped. We would not hesitate to return to this lovely place.

Gorgeous view!
Our family from the US enjoyed 5 nights. The view is breathtaking! We enjoyed a day at the beach (not within walking distance), side trips to Gassin, St. Tropez, and Le Loudes. The house set up was great for us parents to be upstairs while our adult kids had their own space downstairs (no interior stairs). The owner was great to work with.

Nathalie the owner welcomed us personally and explained everything to us. The house is on a beautiful spot on the hill with the spectacular infinity pool that was in use a lot. Everything you need is there and you can lean back and relax.
Thank you very much

Stunning view and great infinity pool

We had a wonderful time here. The house is even more beautiful than the pictures would suggest. The location is nice - quiet, but not too far away from the beach or the parts of the Cote d'Azur that we wanted to see. We had a very enjoyable time just hanging out at the house (especially by the pool), and in the area in general. Nathalie was extremely helpful prior to the trip, and was also very accommodating and helpful during our arrival and stay. I would definitely stay here again if I am ever in the area!

If paradise on earth exists, it is here ....
"S'il existe un paradis sur terre, c'est ici, c'est ici, c'est ici" reads a sign on the wall above the fireplace. I couldn't agree more! This review is long overdue! We splurged (a couple with a teenage daughter) and stayed here for one week in July 2012. The description "amazing view" is an understatement. I believe we were the very first family to rent this house after its renovation. Since we lived exclusively in the upper level during our week-long holiday, and not in the entire house, I can only comment on this level. The bathroom and kitchen were new. The floors were new and easy to keep clean. The kitchen was well-equipped, beds were comfortable, all-in-all a comfortable holiday home which has a cosy and home-like feeling since the owner stays here with family. Very authentic. A detailed information binder with recommended activities, restaurants and FAQs was provided. The infinity pool was where we spent many relaxing hours and it was cleaned regularly. We picked some lemons from the tree in the garden. It is high up with a gorgeous 180 degree+ view of the Mediterranean sea and the islands, you do need a car to get around. Although we did do the walk down the hill (a footpath) to the bakery and to the sea, and it was good exercise hiking back up! It didn't get too hot, always a pleasant breeze. Well, for a short while there was more than a breeze which caught us by surprise - don't forget to retract the umbrellas ;-)). The hostess of this house is incredibly nice. She gave us a wonderful bottle of Rosé which we enjoyed at home later that year while reminiscing about our wonderful week at the French Riviera!
Tip: Ideal for two small families with two separate units, but enough space in top unit to seat a large group.

Our recent stay at La Mesangere was absolutely incredible. We booked the villa as a surprise for a friends get away from it all hen weekend. As it was early in the season Nathalie the owner was happy to rent us just half the villa which was a perfect for the four of us but there is a whole second floor with lots more space if you are travelling with more people. Having seen the pictures we were expecting good things but even they don't do the villa and surroundings justice. The whole place blew us away - especially the fantastic views from the private pool and the balcony with its huge dinner table and BBQ. The villa itself is charming and spacious, with great facilities including a kitchen stocked with all the equipment you could ever need - plus some local wine chilling in the fridge on arrival, a lovely touch!
You could easily spend every day relaxing by the pool but La Mesangere is also in a great location for exploring the local area - although a car is essential in this part of the world. The tiny village of Le Rayol is very quiet but has all the essentials including a well stocked mini supermarket, bakeries for fresh bread and croissants, and a great butcher who sells amazing olives, cured meats and pâtés - great for a picnic at the beach. There are two small and charming beaches in the village but also many many more to discover in the local area from small and deserted to sweeping and packed with activities and watersports. It also has a couple of lovely restaurants - we were very impressed with Maurin des Maures where we had a delicious three course menu with a great range of French classics for around 30 Euros.
There are also so many great places to visit, our favourites included a wander round Gassin a lovely old hilltop village with great views over the St Tropez peninsula, a visit to St Tropez itself for some excellent people watching and best of all a trip to the gorgeous Porquerolles island where we hired bikes and cycled around the traffic free island, on gorgeous wooded tracks, past vineyards and beautiful sea views, before stoping at a stunning beach with crystal clear water that made us feel like we were in another world.
All in all I haven't got a bad word to say about the trip. My only pointer would be that the villa and whole local area are set on a steeply sloping hillside so it may not be totally suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Other than that it is perfect for a relaxing break and a great base to explore.

Quiet and comfortable location and amenities, in fact at a foot step from "Riviera life".
Nice pool and outstanding views.
Beaches, shops and restaurants only a few minutes down hill.
Best "pissladières" at the baker's shop and also croissants and milk breads for breakfeast................

When it comes to imagining a dream home, for me, this is it. I dont have to looking for any more. THIS IS THE PLACE!!
A very special place, with ocean view; spectacular ocean view visible from multiple areas of the house, and lots of relaxing areas.
A very confortable house and really good location.
Nice shops and restaurants very close and also you can do a
lot of activities out door like scuba, snorkel, even rent a boat very easy and visit the island like Porquerolles, Port-Cros ( National Park) and Levante... Or just go to Saint Tropez and have a beautiful dinner between all the huge boats.
Its a real home and it has everything you've dreamed of and more.
Cant wait to go again next year!!!

Superbe location and view to dye for !
The house is perched at the top of the hill ,overlooking the islands of Port Cros Le Levant and Porquerolles...all I wanted was to stay all day in the pool looking at the magnificent view!
The house itself is full of light ,clean and spacious ,it's a dream holiday home.
The Rayol is a small and charming village ,this part of the coast has thankfully escaped the mass property developers...St Tropez is only 30m by car ,we did a day trip ,it was fun to check the crowds ,the huge boats and do a bit of retail therapy but it was so nice to come back to the house!
Hope we can come back next year ...
