Croatoan was a wonderful place to spend the holiday with our family. The home is spacious and the flow of the floor plan allows for quiet sleeping quarters. Best of all, though, was the view, with the sound visible through windows all across the back of the house. A great experience all around, and we would rent again!

Needs to be updated, kitchen in poor condition and living room could use some new furniture, it is all about the location though

We had a fabulous time at this house. The view can’t be beat. We enjoyed beautiful Sunsets every night right from our own deck. Everything was super clean - the house itself is older but everything was well maintained and has absolutely everything you might need. We really enjoyed the easy access to the community pool, hot tub and pickleball courts; Just a quick walk across the street! Would definitely stay here again.

Plenty of room. Within walking distance of Duck shops. Beautiful view of sound from back deck, right on the waterfront. Easy walk to ocean side as well. Property was clean and ready for occupancy on arrival.

We stayed at Ella’s property in August 2023. It was 4 adults and 2 kids and we had more than enough room in this house. The house itself is beautifully maintained and has everything that you might need, including a well-stocked shed outside with beach chairs, umbrellas, a wagon, and even a small cooler. The location is great, quarter-mile walk to the boardwalk and easy access to town center. The community swimming pool is also easily walkable and we used it a lot. The community has a nice private beach access on the Shoreside. The community also organized a barbecue by the pool one day of the week which we enjoyed. The highlight, however, was the expensive back deck with the most phenomenal sunset views every evening. We made sure to be back every evening and have dinner out on the back deck, did not feel the need to go anywhere to catch the sunset. Could not have had a better spot to spend a week and unwind.

Perfect home with four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths all on one level. Great access to the sound, ocean, and pool Close to town, but very quiet.

There were so many extras with this house! It was very clean and spacious, even better than the photos. Everything about the house is set up for an excellent vacation!

My husband and I took our first week long vacation with our one year old and this was the perfect house for it! The house was so clean upon arrival! All one floor living, so no stairs for us to keep her away from. The beds are very comfortable. We especially appreciated the view of the sound each morning and night and how close it was to the town of Duck where we walked for groceries, donuts, etc! All of the kitchen items are top brands - kitchen aid, breville, all-clad which was very nice since we cooked the entire week instead of going out to dinner. We can see how so many families return to this home year after year! The only negative I can even say is we were surprised that we had to buy toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags. Everything else you would need was there though! The walk to the beach was a little bit longer than we thought too on this side of the island (about a half mile) but still manageable! Parking was easy if you don't want to walk!

Even with being on the "main drag" through Duck you would never know it. This property sits on the sound and when you are on the deck you are a world away from anything else. The house was very clean, very spacious and well laid out. The side porch was screen in which was a nice touch. Bicycles were available along with a kayak, beach chairs, and cleaning table for your catch of the day. They thought of everything. You are within walking distance to several shops and restaurants. Fresh cut flowers were lovely. We had a question so we texted the owner and within a couple of minutes we had our answer, talk about customer service, it just doesn't get any better .Of course the big question is, would we stay there again, Most definitely. Some day we hope to bring our grandchildren to the Outer Banks and this house will be filled with laughter and plenty of memories.

My wife and I both truly enjoyed the time we had a this property. The house was well maintained and clean. Watching the sunsets over the water at night was a treat and the location is wonderful if you are wanting the explore the various towns of OBX. Duck is a quiet and charming town and the people are very friendly. The property owner did a great job of communicating quickly whenever we had a question, I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful and enjoyable visit to the Outer Banks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house and location were outstanding. We would definitely consider renting it again. The views were spectacular and we enjoyed playing pickle ball and walking around Duck.

Location, amenities and that sunset!!! Directly on the sound, our son spend his mornings and evenings fishing while we watched from the deck. Short walk to the pool, tennis and pickle ball courts and short drive to the beach with ample parking. The house was super clean and comfortable for our entire family (Ages 7-71!). The coffee pot wasn’t working on our first day and after calling the maintenance number, we had a knock on the door within 5 mins delivering a brand new coffee pot. We couldn’t believe it! Tie dye and crabbing activity for kids through community was so fun. We wished we could stay for another week.

We love staying at the Croatoan.. it has a great layout for families .. we enjoy the tennis biking the pool kayaking and the beach.. very well equipped kitchen and clean well maintained house

This feels like our home away from home!

We had an amazing time in this most perfect home! It was welcoming, comfortable, pleasant and had amazing views! Saw one of the most beautiful sunsets ever! We ate in most of the time and had everything we needed! Hope to return next year! Thank you to the owners!

We couldn’t be happier with our week at Croatoan. A phenomenal location for town and all of your favorite OBX activities. Being able to launch our kayaks right from the yard and return to a private sunset was spectacular. We highly recommend this home for your next visit!

Although the town of Duck was quieter than during tourist season it was a perfect family getaway. The house is perfect in location, space and amenities. We used the kayaks on a warmer day. All the towns we wanted to visit were nearby. The hosts were amenable and helpful. Would like to return again.

When we arrived at the property at 5pm the sun was already setting and the the outdoor lighting was so dim that we could hardly see to unload our cars or unlock the door. This was both unsafe and frustrating. When we entered the house it was clean, but very out of date. Some of the necessities like napkins, paper towels were not able to be found. During our stay we lost all power to the bathrooms and had to go on a hunt for the panel to flip it back as people were in the showers preparing for a wedding. Additionally, while working in the evening the internet randomly went out and did not return until morning. On a positive note the size of the house and bedrooms was great, and the views of the sound were lovely, the proximity to all things Duck was fantastic and there was ample parking!

Another wonderful stay at this lovely house on the sound. We never tire of the expansive deck that allows us to watch the beautiful Duck sunsets, nor the easy access to the beach and shops. This was our third time at this comfortable house, and we hope to return again soon.
