This house was easy to find because of its unique structure. We wish the beach access had been more clear. We couldn’t walk to the public beach and it was hard to find a nearby point where we could enter. It was not a 2 minute walk maybe a 2 minute drive. The main bed was uncomfortable and needed a new mattress. There were lots of stairs which might be challenging for older and younger guests. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was clean. We enjoyed our stay.

Thank you Vacasa for making our experience so easy! The home we stayed in truly had character! The "Gothic" chandelier was topic of conversation for 2 days lol from where did it come from to I bet it was in a home in Hollywood! All in all, this was truly an amazing experience. Thank you!

Very clean

Tv wasn't working. We had to miss the wrestling match first time in 15 years. Tried to get a hold of host. No response. The bed upstairs was very uncomfortable. Can't wait to get back home and get in my own bed. Other than that, it was an overall comfortable stay. It was an adorable house.

Neat place with a short walk to the beach and tons of deck space and outdoor seating. Would book this house again without hesitation!

We left 1 week prior to our scheduled departure date , due to a medical situation..

House was exactly as expected. It is an older home with older home issues. Furniture was very nice and comfortable, beds left a little bit to be desired.. the only big issue I had was when the code would not let us into the house and it took 15 minutes just to get in touch with someone( automated), I feel like I should have had a contact person on the island, not an automated answering service. Overall, we had a nice trip celebrating my dads 81st birthday, just wish it hadn’t been so cold…..would stay again if we are ever in the need of a home on Dauphin Island.. it’s a WONDERFUL place to be.

This is a good place. Beautiful view. Very clean and roomy. We had 6 adults and baby and never felt crowded. Stairs can be issue with infants. Vacasa does a great job gett Back to you with issues

The best part is that it is easy to find. It stands out among the other houses. It is only a short walk to the beach.

House is spacious and in a great spot

Close walk to the beach. Pet and kids friendly. Was our first time to Dauphin Island, but will sure not be the last!

The location was great and it was fairly spacious but needed repairs to the floor which was slanted and a tripping hazard. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable house. Priced nice

Nice location and comfortable for 5-6 adults.

Most all of the cookin utensils and coffemaker were outdated or not workin and much of the interior needs updating, especially the floor. I will not return to this location due to the lack of accommodations. After driving over 20hrs to arrive to this place, pay this much and not have expectations met was a disappointment for me and my family.

Location was great. Very easy to find. There was a strong smell of dog on the furniture and chewed on blinds. I am not sure if the holes in the comforter was due to a dog. There was something going on with the flooring (separated tiles) and the front door (despite having MANY lock) only had one bolt that worked. Definitely needed cleaned and dusted. If you have dog or dust allergies, skip this house. If you do book, I would bring your own bedding, beach towels, hair dryer and a coffee maker (I could not get the water well clean on the coffee maker).

Cont'd- shower curtains/ liners. Porch doors locking mechanism not very secure. Same with doors leading to mbdrm from deck. Binder on counter could be replaced. Very dirty to even review. All cookware utensils needs cleaning had residue on.them. pots pans could be replaced. Paper products were the cheapest you've ever used! Paper towels and TP.

Clean, spacious, near beach.

House location and proximity to beach (with parking pass) was great! Easy to get in and out of. Bedroom and bathroom layout worked well for our family of 4. Great family room and seating for movies and video games.

My sister, our friend, and myself stayed in this very cute house. We found the home to be very clean and comfortable. The house has three decks to spend time outside which was great for us as we like to spend lots of time outside. The public beach access is close and a very cute park is about a block away. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook there two meals per day and sampled many of the local restaurants that are very close by. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, this house will be perfect for you!

This property is great. The cleaning crew should do better. Their work is a reflection on everyone and everything.

Nice and quiet little vacation spot. We really enjoy this place. Those steps to the house are plentiful but nothing for an average in shape person.

The property was very nice. Enjoyed sitting on the deck, while enjoying the cool evening breeze. It was clean and everything in order. We were very impressed with the charming cabin.

Overall, the property was nice. There were a few problems, could never get any of the tv’s to work, the front deck could be stained and weatherproofed, the windows could be cleaned, the sofas and dining chairs are stained and just look dingy. The other couple that was staying with complained about one of the downstairs mattress was uncomfortable and they changed to the other downstairs bedroom and said it was comfortable. The location is good, pretty much central to everything.

We had a great, but short, visit for a few days. The house is super close to the beach.

My family really enjoyed our stay in this home. It is very spacious and has a lot of entertaining area for the whole family, including our dog. It is well equipped with furniture, blankets, and housewares that you may need during your stay. The walk to the beach is not far and it was very private and empty while we were there. We did not experience any issues during our stay and everything was as expected of a rental house. It could use some repairs to the interior, with wear and tear of the front door, flooring, and some of the furnishings, but it was comfortable and homey - not like staying in a stuffy hotel. It is a little more dated than it shows in the pictures, especially the decks. I recommend adding additional descriptions of what is provided for the guest and what the guest needs to bring, because it can be difficult to get what you need at the Ship and Shore. We tried to anticipate what would be there and what we needed to bring but I was unable to find a listing on the posting. We received 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 3 laundry pods, 3 dishwasher pods, 2 rolls of paper towels and 2 trash bags. We brought most of these items with us, but did not bring trash bags and had to purchase more due to the length of our stay. It also has a coffee maker, but you need to bring your own filters - which were difficult to find on the island. There is a vent in the attic space that does slam shut when the wind is strong enough, which we experienced only one of the days of our trip. Thankfully I saw the previous reviews about this or I would have been seriously concerned about the noise. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and relaxing and we would happily return to High Pointe on our next visit to Dauphin Island.

Very cute pet friendly home that was easily recognizable when walking and driving. A short walk of maybe .2 or .3 to the beach. Wifi and cable worked well. Some noises could be heard d with either heater or fan at times. We enjoyed the beach and Skinners fresh seafood. You will not get check-in details until 8 am on arrival date. Appreciate Vacasa allowing pets so he could enjoy our vacation too.

We loved the layout of the house.

The description of this property was great and it was very clean. The property management left a hand written note when we arrived at the house with direct contact information if needed. I will definitely rent from this company again.

A trip for my mother's 78th birthday, could not have been better.
