This will be my favorite place to stay when visiting Santa Barbara forever. Dealing with Shelley the manager is so easy the house as well stocked and perfectly maintained.

We had a lovely few days at this gorgeous beach house. The location is fantastic, right over the water. It's a stunning setting. We watched dolphins and a very reliable seal (almost always in the same place in our 'ocean front yard'. The house is beautiful - nicely decorated, very well appointed, and private. Shelly was responsive and helpful. We hope to rent the Strand Hus again sometime soon.

Clean and modern beach condo. Absolutely right on the ocean with waves crashing beneath you! I really liked it. If we could change anything, it would be to upgrade the pillows- they're a little ancient. The fire alarm did go off from 3 AM night one night for no fire reason- we ended up climbing up to unplug the device and setting it outside until we departed the next day. The manager was very kind, but the owner didn't care or offer an apology. This made me want to stay in a hotel the next time since this was over $1k a night to stay here.

Surreal home on the water, a dream to stay there. Shelley was very hospitable!

30th Anniversary get away weekend. What a great place!!! My wife and I enjoyed our time. Ocean sounds, views and a bonus with the birds nesting in tree right outside the front door. Heated floors were a nice bonus. All the amenities add to the overall atmosphere. Visit Summerland you won’t be disappointed. We would definitely stay again. Communication was very easy and the little reminders around space are helpful.

Picturesque scenery and sleeping to the sounds of the ocean at night … couldn’t ask for anything better.

We stayed in Summerland for the weekend to attend a wedding. My son and his girlfriend stayed with us (4 people total). We could not have asked for a better place to stay. This home is fabulous, peaceful, and comfortable. We didn't want to leave! Comfortable beds, powerful showers, plenty of space, and the view is out of this world. If you are looking for a relaxing place to unwind and enjoy nature and the wonderful sound of the ocean, this is it. We watched dolphins, sea lions, and beautiful birds each morning, with a hot cup of coffee in hand. We hope to be back sometime in the near future.... this place is as good as therapy. :)

We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary, Amazing 5 days! Go, Book, and Enjoy . Shelly the manager of the property is wonderful! Walk the beach daily. Go to Tinkers for a burger, Red Kettle for morning coffee! We walked to both! Close drive to Grocery, Starbucks, shopping, just 45 minutes to winery’s ( Firestone, Sunstone,etc) . Have a drink at Rosewood Miramar which is also a short drive up the street , but hurry back to this amazing home, to hear and see the ocean .You will not want to be gone long! Doors - windows open to peace and a view that is rare to find , you liteally feel like your in the ocean! ! Secluded , private and PERFECT! This house has it ALL! We plan to come back yearly! Thank you for an amazing much needed vacation ! You may see dolphins or a occasional celebrity in town ( we witnessed both) Until we book again…… Boston Rob & Gina ( Kansas City)

Amazing location, view, good layout, well stocked. Looks as if it was a quick surface clean. The unit is ready for a face lift.

This property is simply amazing. This is the only house within miles that is literally perched right on the beach. Most houses are up on the bluff and set back from the edge somewhat. This house is on stilts directly over the sea wall. The sound of the waves is incredible to sleep and wake to. The house is very well appointed. Kitchen appliances are Miele and Subzero for example and the master bathroom tile is heated. The southern exposure towards the Channel Islands is beautiful and ever changing. It’s too bad there are some oil platforms about 5 miles off the coast but that’s the only negative I can think of. We had an awesome 5 days and can’t wait to come back. The host, Shelly, was prompt in all communications and she has helpful instructions for checkin/out so it was all a breeze. In our search to find a beachfront rental that was “iconic”, i.e. unique enough that we will never forget the house, this fit the bill perfectly.

This home was lovely, clean, and well-stocked with everything. The location was perfection and we will be renting this home again.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We walked along the beach every morning, listened to the waves all night, and a very b private location. And Shelly is great! We will be returning.

Astounding in every way

This house is AMAZING! I felt like a Queen. The owners clearly paid a lot of attention to detail when designing it because everything is so modern, comfortable, and luxurious. And you’re right in the water, literally! Highly reccomend!

To say our stay was equivalent to a 5 Star Hotel is an understatement. The location, amenities, furnishings, level of cleanliness, communications with Shelly, all were an A+. We have stayed at the finest hotels around the globe and as a result of COVID chose to stay socially distanced and close to home this season. The Strand Hus was beyond what we were anticipating, we hope to visit again very soon.

Wow what an amazing and lovely place. The pictures don't do it justice. Close to so many great spots and yet so private. Kind of hidden beach access and the beach is quiet and clean. We can't wait to stay again!!

Loved the sounds of the waves, the La Cantina doors open up the outside to the inside, making it a spectacular home. You can't sleep any closer to the water, unless you were on the sand! I do think the owners should invest in a softer, more comfortable, king size bed for the master. Other than that, there is attention to detail everywhere in the place. Great restaurants all around. Late October was overcast everyday. The train (Coastliner) goes by, right behind, but it's not very often or as loud as I thought it would be. (Except if he blows his horn) Guest bedroom has its own onsuite, automatic blinds everywhere. All in all, great place for our 25th. Shelly was great! Thank you.

We loved everything about this location and the rental. It's in a great secluded and quiet area and the beach is beautiful! We look forward to our next visit! Thank you Shelly for everything!
