It was the second time we stayed in this place and l loved it again! The room was clean, comfortable and l felt safe. Every little problem was immediately settled by the owners. They were also helpful to find a car with driver for some excursions. The nearby beach is in a walking distance, it is quite and nice, not as touristic as other parts of Saly. I highly recommend this place and l will go back.

We enjoyed our stay in Riad Côté Jardin very much. The room is furnished with great taste and attention. Nathalie & Thierry are very gentle and smart hosts. The whole area together with the pool exudes peace and seems like an oasis. We can recommend the Riad without any restrictions. We wish Nathalie & Thierry continued good luck with the implementation of new ideas. Thank you very much for this amazing stay in Saly Portudal.

clean, well maintained, comfortable beds, nice pool area, quiet, friendly hoteliers and staff who were helpful with many aspects of our stay including being flexible about payment in euros and transfers to/from the airport

bit further from the beach than I’d imagined- not far but a trip out rather than a v low effort wander.

comfy place - it is special please in the area where you can just relax near the pool, i have one night , i came for one activate so don't have time to go around , but people was friendly, the owner arrange for my transportation

I wish they can keep sign for the hotel in the main road - it is just at the back of main road - but u need to ask to know where it is - it is about 15 min walking to the sea - so solo female like in my case need to get back before dark

Breakfast and other meals excellent. Host cooked a special seafood platter with lobster for me. She was willing to get Vimto (not normally stocked) and bread. Organised taxis when needed, as I don't speak French.

Lighting on private terrace too low to let me read, and the same in my bedroom. Sockets at both sides of bed loose - told cleaner. The main problem was not being able to speak French. I live in Gambia - neighbouring country - and all in tourism make more of an effort to communicate. The host was great, but if she was out there was no-one else to sort a problem, even her husband only spoke a few words of English. The MAIN problem was booking.com description. The site confirmed a ground floor apartment, with private pool and mini-marketon site. Inaccurate. When I arrived the host had to ask guests in ground floor apartment to change with me - I use a crutch, and stairs would have been impossible. Had I not had confirmation with me, the host would not have believed me - she said confirmation TO PROPERTY was simply an apartment - no upper or lower floor.

The room and building is fantastic: Excellent wifi, pool, heritage building, spacious, clean, recently updated bathroom, lots of TV channels, even a mosquito net was included.

Service on the other hand wasn't fantastic: Paying 50% upfront via bank transfer and 'parisian' service - I felt sorry asking for assistance for day trips and for help in general. Also note that this Riad technically isn't based in Saly. It's a 45 minutes walk to reach what's known as Saly. Charging 20% per day extra for AC use was a surprise.

The WiFi is a bit unsteady and slow. It was fine for basic operations but if I had to do teleconferences, it would be too slow at times.
