This house was clean and in a beautiful location! It is “affordable”, so don’t expect fancy and you’ll be ok. There there are still some seriously worn things about the house the owner could improve with a $100 dollar investment- shower head in the tub is crazy, duvet covers from the 80s, only can opener is electric, very limited utensils, and there is not enough table seating for the number of people it sleeps. One of the two bathrooms is a full-on part of the bedroom with no door at all between tub/sink/shower/bed/exterior door/interior UNLOCKABLE door. So, if you like pooping and showering with the constant threat of intrusion- or even with your family in the room, look no further! The upside is the huge bathtub has a nice view that you can maybe kind of see from the the tub. The location is spectacular, however, and despite the oddities, we’d stay here again!

You pay for the view, the furniture is wearing out and the appliances were dated. Had a great time.

Great location and view of the ocean. That is the best in this review. I was very disappointed with the following. 1. Stained carpet everywhere, animal or human??? 2. Orange bacteria growing on the master bathroom shower curtain. 3. Blinds in the living room and master do not louver open or close. The LR blinds at the sliding door drag along the carpet to access the sliding door. The master blinds could not even be pulled open. Kind of freaky when those doors and windows are on the deck side with access from the ground. Not to have them working properly was very concerning. 4. Pans needed to be washed before using. 5. The deck gate has been jerry-rigged to swing open, very difficult to latch properly. 6. The picnic table on the deck has a broken table top beam. 7. The white plastic chairs under the deck, one of them has a cracked back. 8. The recliners are a joke. One was broken so that it leans to the side. The other one feels reclined when you just sit in it. Try to apply the reclining mechanism was 'good luck.' Had to leave it open/in reclined position to even have the reclining option. 9. I found that I will never have a 'memory foam' mattress. The master and 1 guest room have them. The other guest and twin beds were regular mattresses. 10. Good luck to an electric plug-in in the living room. They are on the floor behind the furniture. Found 2, they are both single socket outlets. There is beach access next to the property. No railings. There are large rocks spaced for steps. Do-able but not for everyone. Public access. We have had an annual family vacation with home rentals for +20 years and this was the worst, especially for the cost. With the total price of this rental, it was over $500/night. If there is going to be a cleaning fee, then it needs to be used. We have been home from this vacation for almost 2 weeks and I have been delaying my review so that I wouldn't vent--doesn't appear that I have had better thoughts. We are easy going people and can adapt to lower expectations; however, this was too much. I have never had to write a review with these type of conditions that are not expected for the price or any price. The positives were the toilets flushed, there was water, and the heat was functional. (these can be found at a local fast food location, without costing anything) I am sure this home was beautiful when built, but it needs to be attended to. I have pictures and video to confirm these complaints.

We originally had this booked for a group of 6 until half had to drop out. We're glad they did not come, because the odd layout of this house basically forces the group to use one small bathroom for most "bathroom business", as there is no privacy door, wall, or even curtain for the master bathroom toilet. Some of the other reviews also mention things that we can confirm: - Beach access requires scaling large rocks that may be difficult for some; - while very clean, there were lots of ants in the kitchen; - living room TV gave up halfway through our stay; - internet info was incorrect in check-in documents and we could not resolve after hours; - none of the outside faucets are enabled so you have to wash off sand inside in the tub, - it's generally extremely dated and has lots of quirks. If you can accept all this, it is right on the beach and the deck is terrific. Buyer beware, read the reviews before booking. If the Dream of the 90s is Alive in Portland, the Dream of the 80s is Alive at Rockaway Beach in this unit.

This house needs a serious update , right out of the seventies, The mattresses are old and uncomfortable one bathroom is basically unusable because it’s right in the master bedroom with no door for privacy. We had to buy disposable silverware so that we could rewash it because there was literally three spoons and four forks in the damn drawer for the summer price that we paid it was ridiculous not to have a big enough pot to make a pot of clam chowder for 10. The trash was full when we got there and the yard was probably 18 inches tall we did call and ask for the yard to be mowed as we were staying all week and for the trash to be picked up no one came to mow the yard and we had one guy come by and take two kitchen size bags of trash out of the receptacle. . Not our best stay!

Nice location very open floor plan well stocked. Older home but clean. Master bed was very soft. Lots of rooms to accommodate family. Needs deck furniture.

4 burner stove top...2 big burners did not work....tough to cook for 10 people! Called the number provided and they did send a person to fix the stove top. The flushing mechanism on the main floor toilet was broken from the get-go and we actually went in purchased new innards for the toilet and replaced it ourselves!! Several Apple apps head bolts broken off in them which we removed and replaced light bulbs! Overall we had a great weekend because we were with family!

Location was excellent. Right on the beach with spectacular views. However, the only way down to the beach is by stepping down about 7 huge rocks which is not easy for young children or the elderly. The house smells pretty bad and the carpet is stained badly. There's a ton of VHS tapes but most of those movies are either kids, old black and white, or sports. The DVD collection is very limited. There were only a couple kitchen towels and basic supplies were very limited. There was only 1 extra roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, 3 laundry detergent pods, 4 dishwasher pods, only 1 roll of paper towels and a couple extra garbage bags. We had 7 people, 4 adults and 3 kids and we were running 1 full load of laundry and 1 full load in the dishwasher everyday. We called VRBO for extra supplies, which they did bring later that day but it would've been nice to know beforehand as we would have brought our own extra supplies. The games and puzzles they had were missing multiple pieces, there were a few lightbulbs burned out and there were a bunch of cheerios left under one of the kid's bed from a previous renter. Also, the master bedroom double doors that go into the living room didn't have a lock. This would be a nice rental if the owners took some time to do a few simple things like provide a laundry basket, replace the board games & puzzles, add some newer sharp knives (all the knives were extremely dull) and clean the carpets.

The house was infested with fleas. We had no where else to go so we spent every day vacuuming, spraying bug spray, washing all the linens and still all suffered with bug bites daily. It was obvious the carpets had not been vacuumed in ages! And all the furniture was covered in dog hair. We even found dog hair under the comforter on the bedsheets. Cannot say how bad this experience was for our entire group. We’ve rented and been incredibly satisfied with many homes in the NW and across the country but this was terrible!

Great location. Beautiful views and sounds from ocean. Interior a bit old, but clean and maintained. Sink in master drains very slowly. Plenty of towels, dishes, and appliances. Wish there had been more toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags for the week long stay. Overall great experience and would stay here again.

You needed to use the wood stove because furnace did not warm the house. Wood stove is a hazard because its old & not sealed real good the house smelled of smoke, I smelled like a camp fire. Garbage disposal was not working and smelled horrible. The couch was so broke down you were almost on the floor, kitchen had broken handles on pots/pans, plastic colander was cracked, dish washer racks were broken,kitchen was very unorganized. Sinks & shower drains did not drain very well. Master bed had a foam pad which was ok but not real comfortable.
Seriously this property needs some investment to upgrade the quality.

It is a foam mattress and unless you get yourself in the middle you sink in and can't move. The couch was even worse. Big huge semi pit group type couch directly in front of the windows. You could not sit in it to look at the view since it is so old and worn out you sink down below the back of the couch when you sit in it and can't see over it to see the view. This leave you with only 2 comfortable chairs in living room. Stove burners were broken and it took 2 days for them to come fix. They never fixed the fan/Light on the living room ceiling so you had not good light at night. Not a bad place, just needs to TLC.

The view in this home is amazing and the beach access is perfect. Unfortunately the home is in disrepair. Two of the 4 burners do not work. The bathroom situation is just horrible for whomever stays in the master. The couch is just plain horrific and the glasses in the cupboard are a random mix of all junk. The house was very clean I will add. The two twin beds need to be replaced. We won't even get in to the amount of remotes for the TV. We still had a great time at the house but will not return to this specific one.
