All adults on this trip overall the house was as described and Todd was quick to respond to any question we had. The parking is difficult but manageable. The one thing I think needs done is some lighting near the basement door. We did have an AC problem while we were there I called Todd and the next morning the HVAC guy arrived and had it fixed in about 30 minutes. The bedrooms in the basement are pretty dark but do serve as extra sleeping space the other bedrooms are very nice. There was a lot of outdoor space to enjoy and the beach was a short walk over the dune. There were a lot of games to play not a lot of space for dry food items in the kitchen. The bathrooms could use some shelving or hooks for towels. Overall the basement could use some brightening up but the rest of the house was nice. We had a great time visiting the area.

The property worked well for us. Several gathering spots and spacious dining area. Gorgeous sunsets and walks on the beach. Would recommend!

Everything was as advertised - perfect for our group of 9 adults. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, the neighborhood was quiet. The beach chairs and paddle boards made our beach time memorable.

The property was incredible! Plenty of beds, fully stocked kitchen was great for home cooked meals, and plenty of beach chairs for the whole group! The beach is just a short walk away and is private, providing plenty of quiet time for your group to hangout uninterrupted. The house was huge and had plenty of seating options for everyone to gather for dinner inside or outside, games around the table, or around a fire outside. There are lots of things to do in town but we recommend spending as much time at the beach as you can. We will definitely come back to this house again!

Great location with lots to do. The house was very clean and well furnished. The spiral staircase was very small/narrow but when you got to the upper floor the view was beautiful with a large tv, sectional sofa and nice bathroom. The view was very nice to enjoy from the main public area through the 3 sets of sliding doors. The only problem the doors were very hard to slide open and screens need repair. Overall it was a good place to enjoy family time.

Large, clean, well renovated house, with three decks overlooking the dunes and water. Plenty of beach equipment. All one could ask for.

This property accommodated our group of 18 very well! The main floor was perfect for a crowd, with an extra large kitchen table; extra table for puzzles and games; sufficient plates, silverware, etc.; multiple seating areas; and spacious deck with lots of chairs and tables. The location was amazing, with a short walk down to a beautiful beach and an hour and 15 minutes to downtown Chicago. The main floor of the house was large, comfortable and modern, although the kitchen lacked a place to put dry food which was a little challenging. The upper floor was fine; bedrooms were basic and clean and the bathrooms were nicely done and modern. The bonus room above that was great for our teenagers and younger cousins! The spiral staircase to get up there is not for the faint of heart but the kids were not fazed in the slightest; if anything it added to the fun! The basement rooms were really just a place to rest at night, which was fine for our group because all of our waking hours were spent on the main floor, on the outdoor decks or on the beach! The basement rooms could use some sprucing up for sure, but I would say they are as advertised. If there was any downside to the house I would say that many in our party found their mattresses to be uncomfortable. Otherwise though we had an amazing time and would definitely come back if we lived closer! I will also mention that the owner/property manager (not sure who I was talking to) was extremely responsive and helpful!

This is our third year staying in this house. We love the location and the access to the beach. We appreciate the fixes/changes to the house to keep it fresh.

We had such a great time with our kids and grandkids. The house was beautiful and being right on the beach was great. There was space for everyone and the large table was great when you have so many people at meals or for activities. We hope to be back next year.

Overall we had a wonderful time for a large family vacation. Home was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Basement may need some updating however it was still clean and neat. We will definitely book again!

What a wonderful weekend in a beautiful home. We were celebrating a friend’s birthday. This house is comfortable and spacious especially for large gatherings. It’s fully stocked and every detail is covered. It’s a short walk to the beach and the house has beautiful views of the lake. There was great communication with the host, too. We will definitely try to plan another stay at this beautiful home and location.

Our extended family gathered for our holiday get together. Everything was as expected. The extra ice in the freezer was a nice touch.

My book club enjoyed a long weekend at the home. The house has everything you need and newly updated bathrooms. Location is right on the beach so everyone enjoyed walking and listening to the waves. Highly recommend this property.

We loved our stay here! Easy access to the beach with some magnificent views! We slept 18 adults comfortably and had plenty of room for socializing on the main floor. Property owner was quick to respond and booking was simple. We will be returning for sure!

Great experience!

When we arrived we were shocked by two things: the breathtaking views and proximity to the beach, and the general uncleanliness of the entire property. I’ll start with our issues and end with the good parts. There was pink mold in the showers and in the shower curtains. There were spiderwebs and bugs in many places. It seemed like the property hadn’t been cleaned for a while. There was a bad smell in the basement bathroom. The pots and pans hanging from the ceiling were not cleaned and tracked in a lot of flies. It was really gross. The furniture is not as it is in the photos. The basement bedrooms and the basement bathroom do not lock as they have barn doors. If you have anyone in your party that is claustrophobic do not put them in the basement because those rooms are very small. We were not misled or anything about the size of the rooms In the basement by the listing but we were still surprised. We called VRBO right when we arrived trying to cancel our booking For these listed reasons(minus the small bedrooms size) but they didn’t help us even after sending photos because it had to be in terrible condition for them to refund us. We contacted the owner and he sent someone out who didn’t really help with any of our concerns and denied a smell in the basement bathroom. We tried communicating with the owner after we checked out but he kept saying since we didn’t complain of everything during the stay, and that he won’t give us a partial refund, but we actually did complain to the cleaning lady when she came to check the property. The owner is a very nice guy but he needs more reliable staff so he can serve his customers better. The other reviews are amazing so I’m assuming this is just a glitch experience. I’m hoping the owner gets a new cleaning staff for the next customers! Now for the good stuff. The house is spacious enough for 18 people to cohabit comfortably. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. The bathrooms were updated which made the experience better. The upstairs bedrooms were a nice size and comfortable. The spiral staircase to the loft room is good for kids not for adults. The three balconies were amazing to have. When we went to the beach in September we were basically the only people there which was great. It was very easy communicating with the owner despite not agreeing on one major thing, I have to be fair because we still did have a good time despite the great stress of dealing with the uncleanliness.

Overall, we had a great time at this house. We really enjoyed the access to the beach. The views were incredible and the home was fully equipped with everything we needed. However, the basement area was what it was. It was a basement. It was small and cramped, and some of my family members decline to stay in the basement. Also, parking was difficult. But, for the price and size of the home, we really found this place enjoyable, relaxing, and accommodating.

This home was spacious and so comfortable, with plenty of places to relax and enjoy each other’s company. With only 8 of us, there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all. The decks with their beautiful view of Lake Michigan were the highlight of the trip. A little long walk to the beach, but so well worth it as the beach and views were fabulous. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Amazing, 4 level, sprawling house right on the water. Pictures in the listing do not do the rooms and bathrooms justice. Clean and lovely. Kitchen is well stocked. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms have been renovated and feel luxurious. You have to hike a small dune to the beach, part of the charm. Paddle boards and beach chairs provided. The views of the lake from windows and decks will take your breath away. Within 5-10 min of anything you could possibly desire (outlet mall, restaurants, casino). We will be back!

Solid property with great beach access. Communal areas in house were spacious and deck areas were great.

The proximity to Lake Michigan made this a true stay vacation. We have a large family and the property accommodated all 21 of us! The kitchen was well supplied with equipment but there was no storage for dry food so it was a bit cluttered but we managed. The weather was perfect for a lot of beach time including watching the amazing sunsets.

Overall was great-im handicapped made 2nd story main bdrm a challenge as was getting to beach but we did it- need hangers in closets and towel hooks in 3rd floor bathroom-

We have rented this property before. Great house for lots of adults-meaning lots of bedrooms. The house layout is open and simple. Great view of the lake from the multiple decks.. Plan to rent again.

This was our second stay at this property. Our very large family enjoyed the easy access to the beach, the large spaces for meals and conversation and the 3rd floor dormitory room that the kids love. So many bathrooms and bedroom options make this a home to which we always hope to return.

This house was perfect for our large and active family. With lots of space to spread out in the house and everything we needed for those few days (from pots and pans to toilet paper) in good supply, it suited our needs well. We loved the long table, enjoyed the porches, and had lots of fun with the paddle boards. We also liked the location --it's a full but not too noisy neighborhood, right on the beach, close to a sweet little coffee and ice cream place down the road and other activities within short driving distance.
