We stayed at casa mirage for a week in August. The house met all of our needs in the best way! Loved the floor plan and the classy finishes.

Our family just left yesterday from one of the best family vacations we have ever been on. And by far the best vrbo for families we have ever rented. The location was amazing. So private and secluded. The walks on the beach in the mornings and at sunset were incredible. The ease of having a baby at this home who could nap while the baby monitor reached outside and the big kids could be in the ocean boogie boarding was perfect. And there were a couple restaurants within walking distance! And the staff, oh my gosh they were incredible! Ania the housekeeper was so sweet and kept everything in perfect condition. My kids loved her too and she even gave them a small stuffed animal to say remember Costa Rica:)! And Elibet was so quick to send someone to fix a little problem with the mini split in our room. And Felix the night guard kept us feeling so safe as he watched the property. And then Kimberly came and cooked a couple meals for us which were outstanding!!! We can’t wait to return!!!

Leanna, the house manager was so helpful - always in communication and was there any time we needed anything. Chef Kimberly cooked a wonderful dinner for us and had the kitchen stocked for our arrival. We loved everything about our experience at the Casa Mirage!!

The property was perfect! Designed well to be shared by multiple couples or family members. The kitchen is equipped with anything you made need to make coffee, meals, drinks, etc. The ac in the rooms work well and the beds were comfortable. The property was well maintained and we felt safe the whole trip. We would absolutely stay again!

Everything about this house is perfect. Wonderful space for multiple generations to gather plus quiet bedrooms when sleep is needed. The ladies who take care of the house and cook are the best! We had three generations of family and everyone enjoyed this beautiful location and all of the amenities.

Casa Mirage is literal paradise in Costa Rica. We stayed here with three families in total. The beach is pristine, waves are perfect every time of the day and it's so secluded and private. The bedrooms were nice and the en suite bathrooms made it so easy for a large group.
We had Kimberly good every dinner and a few breakfasts while we were there and they were delicious. Highly recommend if you have kids or don't want to bother going out. The playa grande area is very very small. The super market is very tiny -- if you can stop near the airport at the bigger ones you'll find a larger variety for cheaper. If you're looking for nightlife this isn't for you. But if you want quiet like it seems you can't find anywhere in the world right now this is for you!
Ania was so sweet cleaning up after us and gave us fresh beach towels in the morning. She even brought out a large bag of sand toys for the littles.
We've been at beaches all over the world and it is so rare to find one where some can surf, the teens and other adults can boogie board and the little kids can safely jump in the waves. This was playa grande.

We celebrated 3 graduates on our stay at Casa Mirage. Some were new to Costa Rica so it was fun to introduce them to such a wonderful slice of the world in a house so accommodating. Bedrooms were comfortable, kitchen spacious and efficient and best of all just steps away from the beach. We rented surf and boogie boards for the week. Some of our group took excursions snorkeling, canoeing and visiting a wildlife preserve. Several trips into Tamarindo rounded out the stay. It was lovely and we would not hesitate to stay there again.

Thank you for having us at Casa Mirage. The location of the house, being right on the beach was amazing. The staff are lovely and there to assist with whatever you need. We had some meals cooked there and they were delicious. The property is well maintained and comfortable for our group. We loved being there. Playa Grande is such a quiet and magical place to be. Beautiful beach right at the front yard, plung pool to cool down, spacious house for all the family, and loved all the staff that worked at the property as well as Leanne for fantastic communication. Good restaurants and night market down the road but overall a very chill area. Would highly recommend this place.

Beautiful location, Property, and people. My family had the best time. The house is amazing. The location right on the beach was perfect. The people who cleaned, cooked, and watched over the house our amazing people. I actually forgot my family’s passports in the bedroom safe when I drove to the airport to fly home. In a panic I called Leeana to ask for help. She arranged for Kimberly, the cook, to retrieve the passports and drive them to the airport. We made it on the plain just before the doors closed. Leeana and Kimberly didn’t have to do this for my family after we had checked out of the house. But the did with a smile because they are wonderful people!! Hope life gives my the opportunity to return to this beautiful place again.

From the minute we got to this lovely property, everything exceeded our expectations, communication with staff was great, we had heard a lot about Kimberly cooking for People so we had her cook some dinners and a breakfast. Muy Bueno! The location was perfect for our family and we all enjoyed the beach and ocean. Housekeeping came several times and that was so wonderful. There were so many extras like security that was unexpected. Overall we can’t think of a better place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary!. Thank you

Relaxing family location
Wonderful home to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary with teens and adults. Spacious and clean, staff was great. Beach is great, busy with surfers at high tide but understandable for holiday break. Having a car seemed necessary for access to groceries and a wider selection of restaurants. A welcoming sleepy beach area away from the chaos of Tamarindo. Will definitely return!

Location and relaxation
From the moment of booking this property and all throughout the stay, communication was clear and helpful. The property was in a fantastic location right on the beach, which was sandy with lots of shells and a rocky area to the right side with tide pools to explore. The waves were just big enough to boogie board and surf on but still manageable for kids to play in.
We hired Kimberly to prepare breakfast each morning and I highly recommend that. We woke up to coffee already made, breakfast was ready when we wanted it, then all dishes cleaned afterwards. We had her prepare a few dinners as well. We were celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday, so we had a group of friends come down. There are 5 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and at least a queen size bed, so there was plenty of space. We hired a personal chef, Belly Fedbetter to make his birthday dinner and it was fantastic!
You Are Costa Rica was recommended by the house for our excursions and Mariana was so helpful in making the trip run smoothly, even setting up appointments for the Covid tests we needed to go home. She also had boogie and surf boards at the house when we arrived.
Not only was the house in a great location, clean, with comfortable beds, all the people who run the property made this a truly relaxing vacation.

Great house on a great beach
We loved our stay. House was great and in good shape. The staff was helpful and the beach was beautiful. We rented surf and boogie boards from a local shop and spent hours on the huge beach. A short drive to Tamarindo and you are in a very touristy fun city if you are looking for more than just relaxation.

Pleasant and relaxing vacation
Casa Mirage is a tranquil place to stay away from the chaos of nearby Tamarindo. We were a party of 8 including two children (11 and 12), who had a blast swimming at beach and swimming pool. We visited the next-door national park, explored the shore and played board games at the home. The house can easily accommodate 12 people in five bedrooms, two living rooms with couches and five bathrooms with showers.
The house is an aging property but still in very good shape and looks just like the pictures. Leana, the property manager was super attentive and responsive to our questions and concerns. We experienced a few issues with the storms that passed by during the late afternoon and nights, she took care of it very quickly.
I would recommend they fumigate more for ants, as we found several inside the property around the kitchen. Would also recommend they do not charge for borrowing/renting boogie boards and possible provide those, life jackets and beach toys for children for free with a refundable deposit. For foreign visitors traveling by airplane is difficult to bring stuff like that. I feel having those type of items available for guests at the property would enhance the experience, especially for families with teens and smaller children.

Took the family on an adventure
The house was lovely exactly as the pictures described. There a courtyard that was great in the middle of the house and the gardens had lots of adorable “wild” life my kids saw iguanas and crabs and lots of birds it was great. The house staff to great care of the property. Marianna who was recommended by the home owner was amazing and was quite the help to us as this was our first trip anywhere with our kids and family outside of the US. They told us where the best grocery stores where and their drivers were awesome.
We’ll be back again we hope.

3-generation family vacation
Everything was wonderful. Kimberly made the stay an authentic Costa Rician culinary experience. Manager and staff were very responsive to our needs and inquires. The combination beach and pool availability was outstanding for our family! With a 9 foot tide, the beach was a wonderful flat massive sand box.

We were supposed to stay in April of 2020, but we’re able to postpone to this year. We had an amazing stay. It was so nice for the kids to be able to go back and forth between the pool and the beach all day.
Kimberly cooked for us all week, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was wonderful to not have to think about the meals and everything tasted fantastic.

The staff were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for the stay. We had a birthday in the group and they decorated for when we arrived! Definitely have Kimberly cook for you one night, the food was amazing. The only negative is that part of the yard/beach in the back of the house is not private and it's possible for people to wander onto the property. We felt safe with the security on-site and as long as we blocked off the yard with the provided beach chairs we had no problems. Just a note, it's about a 30 min drive to Tamarindo.Definitely recommend checking out RipJack Inn for happy hour or food, it's right down the street near the main entrance for Playa Grande. Also, Hotel Tortuga has a great restaurant and we ate here multiple times. I would 100% stay here again!

I would recomend a better refrigerator, more electrical outlets in the kitchen area( near the microwave), change the floor with a non-slippery material( very slippery when wet) and the steps outside very dangerous( the area were the rooms are located)

Lovely Stay in an Amazing Spot
We loved our five nights at Casa Mirage on Playa Grande. The location was unbelievable, the house was beautiful and the staff were lovely. We had Kimberly cook us three meals, and they were all delicious! The house was perfect for our two families and we enjoyed every sunset and evening starry sky. We'd return there in a heartbeat!

Wonderful Spot
We stayed here in January. It was my husband, myself and our 3 children. Way more room that we needed. Each room is an individual room with it's own bathroom with a courtyard in the center. From the photos of the property you may think you are completely secluded. But you are on a road with other homes. But you never know they are there. I liked that. Was a little nervous we would be in the middle of nowhere. The beach is spectacular. The surf amazing. The sunsets are like something out of a movie every night. There are small surf shops, restaurants and grocery stores all very close by. We went to Tamarindo a couple of times. Around 1/2 hours away. Lots of activity, shops, bars, restaurants there. Just a little tricky driving at night the first time. We chartered a private boat in Flamingo for a day. Again, short 1/2 hour drive. I would highly recommend this! Kimberly made dinner for us on our arrival night. Great call! Mariana and Marco delivered surfboards to us one day. They were available at all times for anything we needed. We went to the local market on Wednesday night. It was so cool. Items for sale, great food. So authentic. We had drinks and lunch at Rip Jack Inn. You could walk there. It was really good! The staff worked meticulously keeping the place clean the whole week. The staff did a load of laundry for us once and cleaned once. We loved it here and hope to be back someday!

Playa Grande is a Casa Grande
We loved our stay in Playa Grande. It was right on the most beautiful beach with the loveliest sand. Our family had a ball surfing, boogie boarding and walking the beach and for the little ones playing in the wading and swimming pools.
We were a little uneasy about the safety aspect, having heard of all the thefts in the area, however we were warned to always lock up and comforted by the fact that there was a night watchman on duty.
We appreciated being able to use the services of Kimberly, the wonderful cook and the very friendly staff.There was lots of space to accommodate our family of 13. Overall a very memorable vacation.

Tropical Paradise
We traveled to Costa Rica for 2 weeks and ended our trip with a week long stay here on the beach. We could not ask for a better location and the property manager Mariana and her company "You Are Costa Rica" really made our stay the best. We had a few issues with the house - no consistent hot water upstairs, and one of the air conditioners was on the fritz. All issues were resolved after a few tries. We LOVED the location and enjoyed the surf and the pool. One suggestion I did make was to have golf carts or electric carts available for rent like they do in Tamarindo. It would make getting around much easier. We did have Kimberly cook for us for a couple of breakfasts - my suggestion is to check the prices - we found it less expensive and more variety/quantity to eat out for breakfast. We enjoyed the food at Los Tortugas and Ripjack! Mariana set us up with amazing surf lessons and massages right outside the house!! The kids had a blast surfing and the massage we got was one of the best of my life!! We will definitely return!! Pura Vida!
