We were looking for a quiet weekend getaway. Canal Life was perfect. This was the most well stocked rental I've ever rented. They had everything! We only had to bring the food & wine! Fished right off the dock and caught a lot of fish! It was a rainy weekend. Played games & puzzles. Watched movies & football. House has a split floorplan with two living areas. Ventured out to learn a bit of local history. Visited some cool trinket shops and restaurants within walking distance. Excellent communication with owners & property manager. EXCELLENT rental if you bring your boat and other watercraft.

House and furnishings were excellent. Such a tight knit, friendly community so quiet and relaxing. I could live here and be quite content (with the exception of a hurricane). We would definitely stay here again. We felt at home and treated it as if it was our own. Thank you for allowing us to spend 10 beautiful days in paradise.

A great location and so much to do in the area! Live music close by. Perfect for a girls’ weekend! Owner was very responsive to any concerns.

The property was perfect for our needs. The water access to the canal for launching our kayaks was very good. We were able to easily slide our kayaks into the water each morning and back up onto the dock at the end of each day. The house itself was fantastic, very spacious including a large kitchen with all the utensils and appliances necessary for preparing meals. The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. The property manager, Bonnie was very helpful and provided us with lots of good information. The Matlacha area is incredible for kayaking and especially kayak fishing. The water is very clear and we would see dolphins and lots of fish every day. There are many different types of birds including herons, egrets, ibises, a variety of ducks,terns and gulls as well as ospreys and eagles. There are many islands and waterways to explore and in one week we only scratched the surface. I would like to return next year and stay for at least a a couple of weeks.

What a wonderful place to stay. I really like d the little things to do like paint rocks, kayak and biking. This is a perfect place.

This is the place to stay, if fishing Matlacha (Pine Island, Boca Grande and surrounding areas). Less then 1 Mile from the ramp, Expansive Living area, Huge dock area with Lift and fish cleaning table. Two refrigerator/freezers. Propane Grill. Hot tub.

Our stay was restful, the weather was perfect and the area is on the repair after the devastating hurricane. The canal life is a perfect place to hang out from the winter cold.

Wonderful house and hosts were fantastic to work with and was very accommodating with our family for our reunion and birthday parties on the Island. Highly recommended!

Our second time bringing our boat and staying in this lovely property! Again, this property is perfect for boat owners. Plenty of dock room, a boat lift and plenty of boat trailer parking right next to the house. The owners and manager of this property are wonderful! Always quick to respond to any and all questions. House is perfect! Fully stocked, 2 fridges, plenty of room for everyone to spread out, great hot tub, wonderful outside area on the dock to relax and unwind after a full day of boating. Beds were super comfy, water pressure great and always hot. I really cant think of any negatives. We will be back again soon and cant wait! Love this house and area! It was a great place to stay, we would stay again. Everything was dead on and the service we got when we got there was great very friendly.

It was spacious and comfortable for seven adults. We enjoyed being together but with enough space to have a restful moment.

My Family and friends had a nice weekend at the house. Views were great and the house was exactly as the pictures show. Hot tub was a bonus. I would stay there again.

Beautiful home . Plenty of room. Love the lanai. Outside looking out at the canal was so relaxing. Chair's and table to sit and catch the sunrays. We were sad to leave.

We thouroughly enjoyed our short visit to Matlacha. This home had more than enough room to spread out and relax. The water lapping in the canal was nearly as good as the ocean. Home had everything we needed and more. Definitely would stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at “Canal Life” in Matlacha. We have a 28 foot fishing boat and the setting was ideal. Never a problem with water depth at the dock. Fresh water for rinsing and even live bait right off the dock. Matlacha Pass offers convenient access to Charlotte harbor to Fort Myers. The house was clean, large, quiet and fully appointed. We’ll be back.

The property was clean and as described in the advertising. It worked really well for my wife and me, our friends, a couple, who stayed 4 nights with us, and another friend who stayed 1 night, and a couple who visited us for cocktails. Plenty of both personal and communal space. The location was perfect for fishing every day, and the excellent boat lift with cover worked perfectly for our 18' skiff. A useful long hose, a launching platform for the kayaks, a fish cleaning station and additional dock space for a visiting boater friend of ours all helped make our stay comfortable. My wife especially liked the hot tub, which we cooled down a bit due to the 90 degree weather in August.

Lovely home with spectacular views!! Plenty of outdoor seating and the lanai and hot tub were perfect. Inside is spacious providing plenty of privacy for larger groups or families. We will definitely be back.

We are a family of 8 and there was plenty of room for all of us comfortably. We really enjoyed our stay. We spent the whole time on the pontoon boat fishing. Caught many trout and some mackerel! House pros: it was clean, bug free, and most importantly the AC worked and was cold! The house had plenty of beds and they were comfortable! There were also bikes and kayaks made available to us. The house had a home feel that was very inviting! It seemed to have everything we needed! House Cons: the home could use more towels. Also half the house is pitched. There must have been a foundation issue at one time as there is a crack through the house (it has been sealed but you can see it) the master and half the house feels pitched towards the water. This was not a big deal for us, we felt perfectly safe, but it was worth mentioning to potential future guests just as a heads up. Bonnie (property manager) was super helpful and great, she let us into the rental and showed us everything and the owner Jennifer is so nice and always answered any questions I had and was quick to answer. We will definitely stay again! Thank you so much for letting us stay!

Fantastic location for relaxation and fishing. Never been to Matlacha before but will plan to return. The house is vary spacious and well appointed. The bikes were great could use a little general maintenance though and the Kayaks were awesome. We did a lot of exploring on the yaks and really enjoyed that. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Bring your bug spray if you venture out of the screen porch. D and D bait shop is the best bait shop on the island, the fudge shop is great and the Perfect Cup has awesome breakfast and lunch, definitely recommend the seafood chowder. Went to a mango farm and got the full tour, June is the peak of season for them and it was awesome to try all the different varieties, recommend Stanly's Mango farm. This is not your typical Florida vacation as the beaches are a bit of a drive but certainly doable. Painting the rocks was a nice touch my family enjoyed that. All in All a fantastic property a great get away and super people on the island.

My fiancé and I brought three 18 year olds that just graduated high school and his 16 year old daughter for a graduation gift/family vaca! The house was beautiful and spacious. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We used the bikes to go into the business area of Matlacha and played in the canal with the kayaks! We also set up a fishing charter within 15 minutes of this beautiful house. We fished there and at the house. We spent evenings after late meals in the hot tub or around a table playing games as a family. We went to two beautiful beaches within about an hour of the house! (Sanibel and Siesta Keys). We highly recommend this rental and will most likely book there again, but next time take my younger two kids! Thanks so much for the memories and fun!

What a great property! Everything was so clean when we arrived. Furniture and decor was just wonderful. Outdoor area was a dream. Loved sitting on the dock in the comfortable chairs watching the sunset each night and feeling the summer breeze. It was perfect how the house was set bc at a certain point the whole back is shaded and cool in the evening which then made it perfect to get in the hot tub! Hot tub was clean and hot! We easily adjusted the temp to make it a little coller. So relaxing after a long day on the boat! Speaking of BOAT, if you are coming to Matlacha with your boat this property couldnt be better. The boat dock and lift (we didnt use the lift) are great. There is a empty lot next to the house where you can park your boat trailer after launching it at the boat ramp that is literally right down the road. In our adventures of driving around we didnt see ANY other properties that had this convenience of trailer parking. Seriously. We looked. BTW the boat ramp was nice too and super easy to navigate back to the house. Beds were comfy and cozy. Kitchen was fully stocked with any utensils we needed for cooking. 2 fridges were very helpful too. We even rode bike that were provided. That was a very nice feature and alot of fun. (one of the mountain bike didnt work but the other 4 bikes were great). We went with another family and we all kept saying we need to save the info for this property as our little secret! LOVED IT!
