Als Kind brachten meine Eltern meine Geschwister und ich in die Berge, um Rodeln oder Skifahren zu gehen. Ich habe die Berge, die Natur und die frische Luft genossen, seitdem ist es meine Leidenschaft. Jahre später sind meine Frau und ich eines Tages auf dem Heimweg von Reno durch Tahoe Donner gefahren und haben uns in diese kleine Berggemeinde verliebt. Es dauerte nicht lange, bis wir uns entschieden hatten, was für ein großartiger Ort dies ist, um Zeit mit unseren Kindern zu verbringen. Später im Jahr 2004 hatten wir die Gelegenheit, einen Traum zu verwirklichen, als wir diese wunderschöne Kabine kauften, die wir Badens Best nannten. Had an amazing long weekend at John’s cabin. Quiet and tranquil location in the woods. It was the perfect location. Loved the fully stocked kitchen and hot tub. Our group had an amazing stay and we’d definitely be back.

This spot was perfect for our family summer vacation. The home was well appointed and comfortable. The game room downstairs was a great gathering spot for a game of pool or some TV time. The location was amazing - the trail head just down the block became our favorite morning walk. We also enjoyed the Truckee area and how close everything was and especially Donner Lake and the surrounding trails and hikes. The amenities of Tahoe Donner were also fun - we loved trivia night at Alder Creek. The hosts were very responsive and helpful! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking in the Truckee area. We hope to return soon.

We love going to Donner Lake in the summer, and we really loved this property. The house was exactly as advertised, very comfortable, and well-stocked. It has 3 bedrooms on the main floor, and a large family room with bunks, a trundle, and a sleeper sofa on the ground floor. We had adults upstairs and college-age kids on the ground floor. The main floor has newly-installed air-conditioning (hard to find in this area) which was a huge plus because it was in the 90s during the day. The downstairs stayed cool even without A/C, so we were all comfortable. The house has a pool table and a hot tub, and we enjoyed all the Tahoe Donner amenties, including the fitness center, hiking trails, and the lake itself. The house was very clean when we arrived, and clearly the hosts have put a lot of thought into stocking the kitchen with cooking utensils etc. The location was great - an easy, flat 15 minute trail walk to the Trout Creek Rec Center, and a short drive to Donner Pass Road and downtown Truckee for shopping and restaurants. Communication with the hosts was excellent. Overall, great stay. We recommend it, and we would stay here again.

The house was perfect for our family. It was an easy drive to Tahoe. The house is extremely well maintained, and we had a great stay. The owners communicated well with us and made a check in easy.

This place is a gem. Wonderful area, close to slopes and the town of truckee. The house itself is lovely and the kitchen is stocked like someone actually lives there. It was perfect for our girls’ get away. We cooked, hung out, sat in the hot tub after skiing and snow shoeing and had a great time all around.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The home was not only beautifully appointed and comfortable but also very clean and spacious, with big windows that offered lovely views of the surrounding trees. Couches and beds were super comfortable. The yard was a highlight, providing a great space to play in the snow, and the pool table was incredibly fun and enjoyed by all, kids and adults alike. There’s a fun hot tub on the deck too.
We also enjoyed the opportunity to cook in the well-equipped kitchen, which made meal times a joy. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, making sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Additionally, the location of the home was perfect, close to a variety of great activities that Tahoe Donner has to offer. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the Tahoe Donner area.

We had a wonderful long weekend in this beautiful cabin. The location is centrally located. We thoroughly enjoyed the kitchen. The beds were comfortable - even the downstairs bunk beds. We would happily return.

This house was perfect for us with our children. My brother lives very close by; off of Swiss Lane. We were able to come and go from both houses with the siblings! So much fun! We love our Summers in Tahoe Donnner. Thank you!

This was the perfect home for our family wedding weekend. John and Karen were more than accommodating and answered any questions I had (I needed an ironing board and iron) within minutes. The house was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect size for the 7 of us. It was bittersweet to leave, but will 100% be back!

We had an excellent week at this home. It’s was clean, well stocked and just a very comfortable home! It was centrally located to everything! The owners were very accommodating and easy to communicate with anytime. Would stay here again!

Great cozy cabin housed our 3 young kids & my parents. Kids slept on the bunk bed (trundle underneath was a bonus) in the ground level family room that had the pool table and hot tub on the deck. Adults were upstairs on the main level. 3 bathrooms were perfect for everyone to have their own space. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of towels and the washer/dryer on the main upstairs level came in handy. We entered through the garage which fit one large suv but parked the second car in the driveway as there was too much snow blocking the second garage spot. The Donner Ski Resort was just 6 minutes away. Really perfect spot for our family with fully stocked cooking supplies,spices, oils, paper towels, tp, coffee filters etc!

Our family stayed for a week and didn’t want to leave! The house was not only clean and well appointed with extra linens, cleaning supplies etc. but the owner remotely turned on the heat for us to ensure we’d arrive to a cozy space.
Two car garage that accommodates two SUVs was incredible given the level of snowfall. Tahoe Donner hoa plows the driveway so we didn’t lift a finger.
Our group included 4 adults and 4 kids but the house had plenty of space for both mealtime gatherings and to retreat into separate spaces when we wanted to.
Less than 10 minute drive to groceries, restaurants and gas and only 20-30 minutes to Palisades, Northstar or Sugarbowl.
We can’t wait to go back!

The house exceeded our expectations and was lovely! It really felt like home. The accommodations were very comfortable and the kitchen was stocked, not like the typical rental. We were there during a big snow storm and with the food we brought and the lovely kitchen were able to easily cook delicious meals to enjoy around the large dining table. Overall, we couldn’t have had a better place to stay and the hosts were very responsive and helpful.

We stayed at this home shortly after the holidays with my parents and 3 kids. It was the perfect spot for all ages to enjoy the fresh fallen snow, do some skiing, sledding and just enjoy the scenery. The basement was a great space for my older kids to hang out. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and more. It is a very close drive to Tahoe Donner making it easy to get to the chair lift for “fresh tracks”. Since we were there during a large snow storm, John and his wife were very thoughtful and checked in to be sure we were plowed out and didn’t have any issues. Overall a very memorable stay and we definitely hope to be back.

Our group had a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful, and great for families and large groups. Beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed to cook and enjoy the holiday week together. Location is a convenient jumping off point for accessing north lake ski spots and just minutes to tahoe donner ski hill, a great place for young kids to learn. Hosts are friendly, very responsive and easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay again!

Our family of 6 visited the house for the Thanksgiving week and enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. The house was clean with lots of space for the kids to keep apart and also come together for playing in the game room downstairs. Location is close enough to Truckee yet far enough away to be a nice getaway if you want to keep to yourself.

An added bonus was being able to use both sides of the two car garage- it saved us from scraping cars in the morning and made loading and unloading cars easy peasy.
My constructive criticism would be to upgrade wifi service (if possible) as while it is available and working, I got kicked out frequently while I worked.

This house has plenty of room to be together and find pockets of privacy! With two families the pool table was perfect for some friendly competition. It was so easy to get to ski area and snowplay. This was the time away we needed!

The home is beautiful, the kitchen is VERY well stocked with all the gadgets and tools you will need. Our kids really enjoyed the game room which had plenty of games and space for them to enjoy. Fantastic job by the owners - even though it was super-hot (by Tahoe-Donner standards) the owners had box fans and ceiling fans running in each room! With many bedrooms, we were able to spread our family throughout the home and everyone had a fan on them to fall asleep. I decided to use the *entire* downstairs as a master bedroom, to include the hot tub area, pool table and largest TV for myself. Greatly recommended. ;)
Perfect communication with owners, as well. Would def stay here again. (FYI: We've never stayed here in winter, but I noticed our Toyota Sienna minivan would have just barely fit through width of garage door entry if side windows pulled in. Go slowly!)

The only main bummer was the coffee machine was broken, so instead of having a leisurely morning coffee in our pajamas, someone had to make a morning coffee run every day. First world problems though. We packed a ton of activities in around the Tahoe/Donner area in our trip. Love this neighborhood!

The pool table was also a big hit: the hosts obviously replaced to broken pool cues that a previous reviewer mentioned: they were brand new! The hot tub is also new and we used that. The host is very responsive, although the internet really isn’t reliable as the host warns. It’s kind of nice to be able to separate from our phones though. It was definitely as advertised! It is quiet, removed from town but a quick hop to the beaches. We actually preferred the west end Beach vibe and it was half the cost to get in even with the homeowner guest passes. Grocery store is easy to get to. Property is super cool and a little funky - it easily handled 6 of us and could easily take two more no problem. It does get a little hot during the day in the summer or when cooking so prepare for that but the nighttime cools down just fine. The property could use a few updates like Bluetooth for music so bring a Bose or remote speaker if you want to fill up the main floor with music while hanging out. That and getting some more pool cues with tips on the end but frankly that is all nitpicky stuff. Very well equipped kitchen and grill. I’d happily stay there again. And the owners were super responsive to questions too. A+ stay!
