This home is absolutely beautiful and the view is breathtaking. The only thing we did not like was that there are no curtains/blinds anywhere. Not in the bedroom, living room, bathroom…nowhere! We felt like we had no privacy. During the day, it’s no big deal but at night it was (in my opinion) very creepy. It made us very uncomfortable knowing that anyone could possibly be looking in at you while you sleep, when you step out the shower…etc. We rented the house for two nights but after the first night we checked out early because we were so uncomfortable with the no curtains/blinds situation. If this is ok with you, you will absolutely love this home.

We stayed here a week.I was wishing we had stayed two. The views were incredible and it has a nice kitchen to work in.They could update the dishes, but not really a huge deal. Because the drive up Hwy 1 is on windy and steep roads you may not want to go into town much. The bedrooms are down many steps,so you must be able bodied. Numerous hiking opportunities close by.

This little house is a gem. The house is light and open, but nestled in a private little spot in a beautiful neighborhood. We enjoyed walking to the beach and up to the Muir Woods. The house is very well designed and cared for. The views are magnificent. Thank you so much for sharing.

From the outdoor shower to the indoor stargazing, this home is truly special. Very clean, cozy and comfortable. Wonderful hosts.

This is probably the most beautiful and peaceful place we have ever stayed in. The views are spectacular and the sound of crashing waves relaxing. Hope to return soon.

Only negative I can say comes with a huge positive. Long windy road to get to the house - which also makes its remote location perfect. So if you are up for a beautiful drive and a beautiful reward at the end of it this is a great place to spend time! Didn’t want to go home or leave this place. Skipped driving to wine country for the day to sit and listen to college football on The tv and soak in the sounds and view!

My mom and toddler daughter both stayed with me for a week at this beautiful house and enjoyed every minute! The views and the home are accurately represented and even better than the listing. Thank you for a beautiful week!

Bev's property is so spectacular I really do not want to tell anyone about it! We stayed at this property for the first time when our children were in grade school. We have so many great family memories here. We just want to keep coming back. You cannot beat the view or the privacy. Unfortunately you cannot control the fog but it really does not matter. We also enjoyed feeding the scrub jays that visit the property. This is one of my all time favorite properties to visit. If you try it, it will become one of your favorites as well. Mark and Eva

Stunning! This was my wife's first trip to California and seeing the Pacific Ocean. Hence, this was the perfect place to make that lifetime impression. It was simply spectacular! The pictures online were helpful, but being there in real life was amazing! The views were fantastic, the wildlife was exciting to see and interact with, and the proximity to various things we wanted to see and do was wonderful. It was so cool to see the moon rise over Muir Beach as we sat in bed. And then to have the beautiful sun rises too! I genuinely feel I couldn't have picked a better place. It was so relaxing we were hesitant to leave and do other things. We could have simply sat on the deck chairs and watched the days go by. As someone who cleans homes for a living, I'm probably one of the worse people to have as a guest. Having said that, the property was spotless! Things were so well taken care of and clean. I was very impressed! An added benefit of our stay was being able to use the laundry. After five days of hiking in Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite National Parks, a washer and dryer were a welcome relief! If you do choose to stay here, do venture out and visit the Muir Beach Overlook that's up over the hill behind the property; spectacular views! Good place to watch the sun set too! Muir Woods is nearby, within 3 miles - take the back road to get there. And the Pelican Inn has good food and a wonderful old English pub vibe to it. Our visit was worth every penny spent!

Awesome house and views!

This place was the most beautiful place we have stayed yet. The view was spectacular, the kitchen was well stocked for cooking, and the beds were very comfortable! The host/hosts were very attentive to our needs and questions. We would highly recommend this place and hope to come back again in the future!!

The view is absolutely worth ten-plus stars and is even better than the pictures! You can hear the ocean from the deck and feel your stress slip away when you arrive! Communication with Beverly was easy and we had all the information we needed on arrival and were delighted to find a bottle of wine as well. The home is very comfortable and the property was spotless. It worked nicely for a couple of days with my college roommate. Other reviews have mentioned the concerns about the winding roads(easily driveable in my opinion but worth noting if you're not from the area and this makes you uncomfortable) and the lack of blinds in the windows on the property. It was a minor annoyance when the sun got quite warm in the afternoons (though we opened the doors to the deck and were fine shortly), and is a strange feeling in the bedrooms and bathroom. I don't think anyone can see you, but would prefer to pull down blinds or a curtain anyway. But in my opinion, the view and the overall peace of the property more than compensated for that minor inconvenience. We appreciate Beverly sharing this beautiful spot and we would definitely return.

A truly beautiful and peaceful get-away. The house was quiet and the view is now a core memory. It's the perfect place to watch the waves and any stray clouds that may happen to float by.

There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful our stay was. The view from every room is absolutely breathtaking. Sitting on the back deck you are able to enjoy the waves crashing on the beach below and chirps of scrub jays; such a serine little escape from the hustle and bustle. The house was so cozy, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in the door. We loved every moment of our stay and would recommend it to anyone going to visit Muir Beach. We will certainly be coming back!

My best friend & I celebrated our 60th birthdays at this awesome cottage. Bev & Scout were terrific to work with & the cottage has amazing views & is so homey, making this a birthday to remember! And who knows…might spend 61 here too! Thank you so much!

The house was more than expected Breathtaking view, immaculate, well appointed, bright and sunny Every window was like looking into a beautiful painting Kitchen has everything you can think of I would come and stay longer next time Great location!!

Great: • Views of Muir Beach; Proximity to Muir Woods; Very clean, Multiple places to hang out; The beds/bedding are very comfortable, warm enough to sleep with sliding door open; hearing waves at night very soothing; Excellent bottle of red wine on our arrival; Internet worked well; hubby enjoyed the outdoor shower; property manager was easy to contact, quick to respond. Not so great: • The lounging sofa is not always comfortable, gets hot there when in the direct sun in the afternoon; bedrooms have only double sized beds, just too small and not comfortable for a getaway experience; kitchen does not have: muffin tin, regular size baking pans, mixing bowls, regular size spoons. The liquid soap was watered down, which felt rather cheap. No place to put your stuff! In the bedrooms, there are wide window ledges, but they were filled. There is only one nightstand per bedroom, and dresser only in one bedroom. Downstairs bathroom has no counter. Shower has a window facing the beach without any covering. No blinds on any windows. No sound privacy. The bedrooms share the jack-and-jill bath. One “wall” of each bedroom is a sliding door, with gaps at the top, meaning no sound privacy for the bedrooms. There is a sign by front door saying to not wear your shoes inside. However, there is no bench either inside or outside of the front door, so it is not easy to comply with this, especially when loading/unloading your car, particularly in leaving, as my husband had to go up and down damp steps, and back and forth through the door to load stuff, making it unavoidable to track stuff onto floor. Other notes: (Things not in owner’s control, but worth knowing) • If you dislike mountain roads, maybe think twice about this one. The last 20 minutes of the drive to the house is extremely curvy/windy. There are places to hike from the house, but they are STEEP. We hiked down to the little Muir, and then over to the big Muir Beach. Very steep hike back up to house. Muir beach lookout is another place to hike to, but a VERY steep paved road to climb to get there. During the daytime on weekdays, there were various construction sounds, from work being done on homes in the surrounding area, creating unwelcome noise pollution during the day. We enjoyed the stay, the views, the sound of the waves at night, and the hike through Muir Woods. But as nice as that was, we don’t really see this as a place we would stay again in the future.

The views are unbelievable and the setting is perfect. House is comfortable and lots of light from early morning until sunset. Everything you need is here. Close to good walks and two wonderful beaches. Even scrub jays on the deck every morning and monarch butterflies in the afternoon. A truly lovely place and owner is very responsive and helpful. Would come again

This property is even better than the pictures. Very homey with stunning views. We even canceled our plans one of the days to just hung out at the house. Fantastic place to relax and unwind. Would highly recommend!

There’s no blinds at all to get out of the sun in the morning and early afternoon. There’s only one full bathroom with the shower handle broken so the pressure isn’t working and the freezer leaking. The furniture isn’t comfortable for us older people. Paid $30 hour to stay. But the Zinfandel was good!

I am really happy to be able to find this property and enjoy 2 nights here. View is excellent. Will come back here next year with my husband and my son. They both couldn’t come, so I come with my sister. Would like to recommend two things if owners don’t mind. Can you please change one bed to queen size bed for a couple and make that room little brighter light bulbs. Just a wish, already happy enough to be able to stay here . Thanks!

My husband and I stayed at this property to celebrate my birthday. We both agreed that it was clean and tidy, the kitchen was well stocked with what we needed and the views of the pacific are spot on with the pictures online. The communication with the owner was well above average and she was quick to respond to any of our needs. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 were cosmetic changes I would make myself and the windy road to get to the property. I like a little more privacy than this had to offer since there were no window coverings and the sliding doors were difficult to manage. Over all we loved the gentle sound of the waves at night and enjoyed our coffee on the deck in the morning. I would highly recommend this place to friends looking for a quiet, distant getaway!

Gorgeous home and views. We loved all the walks available without having to drive especially the walk to the beach. Great kitchen for cooking since we hardly wanted to leave!
