Can't say enough great things about this property. Family reunion from Boston, OH and Milwaukee. We had 14 people ages 12-70 and a toddler. This property has everything you need. The owner was easy to contact for any questions and property description is perfect. 82 steps down to Beachwalk "Main St"/ pool etc and a block from Lake MI. 3 flights in the actual home but didn't feel like we were doing stairs at all b/c it is such a great floor plan. Room for everyone on the couch or to hang out in cozy spots for a nap in the sun or to read. The kitchen is one of the best stocked kitchens we've ever had at a VRBO. We'd come back in a second b/c there is something for everyone at this location. We fit 4 cars in the driveway/ parking area- (a Highlander, 2 RAV-4 and a Honda civic) and one in overflow parking which was readily available. Appreciated the huge laundry room, efficient and new appliances throughout and the AC! Plus all of the beach amenities like tons of towels, chairs, wagon and toys.

We had 8 adults and 7 young kids. This house was so spacious and allowed everyone to spread out. The views from the house are stunning and it was furnished with everything we could've needed, including chairs, umbrellas, and toys for the beach. This house is such a gem. The only downside is the driveway being pretty steep. The larger vehicles were a little harder to navigate but it definitely wasn't a deal-breaker issue. we would love to stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was spotless and very well equipped, even beach chairs and towels. Awesome kitchen, dining, living area combined. We took advantage of the pool, tennis/pickle ball court, and ping pong. Be warned, however, that the house itself has MANY stairs and the walk to the beach and pool also involves MANY stairs.

We rented as part of a gathering of extended family; there were 10 adults and a 1-year-old in the house. Because we were meeting at others' homes (some rented, some not), we went up and down the hill numerous times per day. It's a challenge. It's also a challenge to get a car with low ground clearance up the hill and into the parking spaces in front of the house (we scratched our front air dam every time, although my sister with an SUV had no problem). Great views from the top two floors of the house, but a LOT of stairs (house is tall & narrow). The owner is honest in his listing about the challenge posed by the stairs and the hill, so we were okay, although by the last night of our 4 day stay I swore I wasn't doing down that hill on foot again for anything short of life and death.
The owner is very helpful, reasonable, and cooperative. I'm 75, and I think I would rent the house again.

We gathered here for a family get together over Labor Day weekend. The house has lots of space and plenty of beds for our large group. The kitchen had plenty of dishes. The only drawback was that the house is vertical more than horizontal so we did a lot of going up and down. The family room is on the third floor. Also there is no where to go outside to take a walk since it is located on the top of a hill. Otherwise the house is quite nice with comfortable beds and accommodations. Our grandkids loved it.

Beautiful views
This house comfortably handled our family of 11. The kitchen is the best equipped kitchen of any rental I have been in, and that's quite a few! If you read the reviews, you can see that it is multi story and not for everyone. The views are fabulous and we enjoyed them. The down side to being high, is that its a little hard to walk to the beach or pond/pool area. I know there is a golf cart shuttle service, but we never tried it.

Fun for all ages!
We were a group of 4 families staying for the Fourth of July weekend! The house was amazing, plenty of room for all, with four levels! We were a 10 minute walk to the beach and the house had tons of beach toys and gear. We were also part of a community called Beachwalk which had a large pond for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding. There was a pool, snack bar, and game center as well.

Amazing Property
We had a wonderful stay at this fantastic property to celebrate my parents' anniversary with the extended family. This home is beautifully furnished, very clean and exceptionally spacious. The home is fully stocked with every essential, and Mark made everything easy. The multiple levels gave a tremendous sense of space and privacy to our guests, yet the common areas offered plenty of room to gather. We enjoyed the location and views from the hilltop, being set apart from most of the other homes in the Beach Walk community while having easy access to the amenities. Overall, this is a great find. As long as stairs are not a problem, it is hard to imagine a nicer home.

We were at home the moment we walked in. Lots of steps, but well worth it for the view. Everything about this place was great. There were bedrooms on on floors so we could give age groups their own space.

Nicely stocked clean home. Beautiful views. Quiet neighborhood. Downstairs did not seem to maintain cool like it should (we should have reported it during our stay). Main living space is on upper level. Be prepared to take stairs...several of them. Walking to the beach with littles is a hard trip. We did the two hour parking at the boardwalk or we all drove down together and one person took the car back and walked down to meet us. Then when we were ready to go home one person walked up to get the car to retrieve the crew.

Great for our large family
We had a wonderful experience staying at this property in Michigan City. The home was new , very clean and provided all of our needs plus! Close to the beach ( we drove because of all the parafenalia needed for kids at the beach )Ice cream and coffee shop near by . We went on the trails on the sand dunes also and enjoyed all of it. We found a wonderful sandbar to swim out to . The grandkids loved the fuse ball table and it got very loud in the bunk room.

Terrific views, unique home, close to the beach
Mark's property was a wonderful gathering place for our group of adult friends. The top floor (kitchen + family room) is larger and more spacious than it appears in the photos. The bird's nest (top floor) was a spectacular place to view sunsets and watch boats out on the lake. The rest of the house was clean, spacious, modern, and almost every room had a view of the beachwalk community below. We loved how close the house was to the beach - about 5-minutes from the front door downtown to the boardwalk.
There are few things that didn't bother us, but may be trouble for other travelers: the house is on a hill and offers amazing views, but this means the driveway is very steep and parking can get a little tricky for more than 3 cars. Also, there are about 75 steps down to the Beachwalk community if you want to go to the pool, tennis, volleyball, or ice cream shop. Lastly, the house itself has many interior steps (4 different floors). Again, this didn't affect our stay and we loved being perched atop the hill with awesome views in every direction.

Wonderful House With Amazing Views
Our extended family of ten greatly enjoyed the house. The views are AMAZING! As others have noted, there are many stairs, but not a big deal unless you have mobility issues. A favorite spot was the lookout at the very top. Everyone seemed to have plenty of room – we really enjoyed the master suite with balcony. The foosball table in the basement was a hit too. The Beachwalk Beach is great – very clean and well maintained. We didn’t get to use it but the pool seemed nice. There’s a snack shop there too. Location is close to everything – Washington Park Zoo was a highlight for the grandkids. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent this house.

Family Vacation getaway
Our group included 3 families and 2 grandparents for a getaway in Michigan City, Indiana & New Buffalo, Michigan. The house is located in a great location close to the lake, Lighthouse Outlets, New Buffalo attractions, wineries and breweries and has beautiful views of both Lake Michigan and the picturesque town.
The house has 5 levels with lots of stairs but provides space for families and kids, has tons of windows, lights and the layout was great. It is decorated nicely, clean and has much to offer indoors and outdoors. The communal pool and walk to the beach are very convenient and a perk. We would highly recommend this VRBO.

The home was beautiful & plenty of room for all 13 of us! There were some minor issues. Toaster wasn’t working & fridge wasn’t getting cold. Parking was difficult as the house is on a steep incline and very little room to maneuver. Overall, we had a fun family vacation!

We had a really enjoyable stay on Upland Dr! The house was fantastic, the neighborhood was very nice, the folks staying in Beachwalk were all extremely friendly!

The property was clean, the views were tremendous, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with useful gear. I liked everything about this home. The property owner was very responsive, too. A first-rate property that was liked by everyone in my group,, which included both adults and kids. Highly recommended. Summer Family Trip
We loved our stay in Michigan City! We had 4 families (grandparents, siblings and their kids) all staying with plenty of room to be together and still have their own space. The basement area with it's own tv room, half bath and bunk room was perfect for the kids. You will get a work out with all the stairs and then the stair way not far from the house that leads down to the neighborhood below and then out to the beach. But the view is worth it! Washington Park - the main beach, a zoo, restaurants and the outlet mall are all just minutes away. The owner, Mark, made this an easy process, provided great communication and responded quickly each time. Thanks for a wonderful time away!!

Great views in textbook lake house!
Beautiful home with spectacular views - our family had a great reunion. Mark was very responsive to all of our pre-trip questions and requests. Kitchen was large and well stocked, bedrooms and bathrooms clean and comfortable. Only a quick drive to the public beaches if you don’t want to walk. Two things to keep in mind for this house - there are many levels so you go up and down stairs a lot! And you must drive up very steep roads to get to it- hard on our cars - and parking was a challenge for our larger group with 6 cars. But we really enjoyed the house and can happily recommend it for any family beach vacation.

Beautiful get-away
There were 17 of us from age 85 to age 3. Lots of stairs but it wasn’t a problem. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated with lots of equipment for cooking, playing and beaching.
Mark was most helpful with a few minor problems.
The kitchen was well equipped with a Keurig plus a regular coffee pot. There was a killer waffle maker which we had to try!
Three TVs which was great.
The master shower was fantastic and I wish I could have put it in my suitcase!
We played many games on the great dining table as well as actually dining on it.
There were lots of beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys as well as great beach towels.
We kayaked and paddle boarded on Lake Kai. To reserve those you have to go to the pool and do that the morning before.
We used the pool and there is a nice deck with tables, chairs and umbrellas close to the pool and right on Lake Kai so we could watch the kayaks.
The only issue was getting to the beach. There were stairs and a long walk over a steep sand dune to get to the water. Several of us could not attempt it.
However about a mile to the left, there is a public beach, Washington Park which was all flat and an easy access. There is an $8 per car parking fee but it was worth it. There were bathrooms and a little cafe available too.
My whole family enjoyed the week immensely.

Fantastic place for a family vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Mark was a terrific host, he answered any questions we had promptly. The house had everything we needed for the week. It is quiet, comfortable and has amazing views from the top floor of the surrounding area. We loved the easy access to the beach, and having a pool for those days we didn't want to head to the beach was an added benefit! I highly recommend this lovely home if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Michigan City.

Beautiful home with fantastic views
This house offers fantastic views that the other homes in the Beachwalk community don’t have. It does require a steep walk back to the house after your day at the beach or the pool however I think the views and the home make the walk worth it. The owners were readily available to answer questions via phone or text. I would gladly rent from them again.

We didn't want to leave!
Our family of 16 (10 adults, 6 children) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely, spacious property overlooking Lake Michigan and the Beachwalk community. The kids loved the bunk bed room (with the additional pullout mattress, this space accommodates at least 5 people). The house was clean, the beds comfortable and all appliances functional. We ventured to several different trail heads within the Indiana National Lakeshore and State Park- all within reasonable proximity for fun day trips- and relaxed almost every evening on the beach within walking distance from the property (perfect for family frisbee and playing in the lake). Pool access was straightforward; kayak and paddle board reservations were very easy to arrange- and could be made for 6 people (4 single-person kayaks and 2 paddle boards) at once.
I will echo a previous comment that enjoying the highest vantage point of the Beachwalk community requires navigating a rather steep incline on the short road to the property (and several flights of stairs within the home)- while this would not stop me from returning to this beautiful property, I was grateful that the youngest and "more mature" members in my family were good sports.
We had no issues during our week requiring Mark's attention but his correspondence from my initial inquiry up into our stay was always helpful and timely- many thanks to the Foreits for a wonderful family vacation!

A great place to make special memories.
We are a family of 15: 4 couples with 6 children from 22 years old to 3 weeks old and me (the Grandma). This beautiful house had plenty of spaces for all of us. The kitchen was well equipped and the living space was so comfortable. We all felt at home right away. There were lawn chairs and plenty of beach towels to use for going to the lake which was a short walk. One morning I was sitting on the balcony outside the kitchen when I heard water splashing and saw 2 deer romping in the water down the hill. Another day I was up early in the bird’s nest and witnessed 4 deer sauntering along the road right in front of the house. In this house you are higher than any house around and the views are spectacular. Having the different levels made it easy for the kids to sleep while the adults stayed up late. The master bedroom suite is huge and the shower in the master bath extraordinary. We really enjoyed our stay.

We hosted about 15 people for a long weekend -- it was a great fit. The house was comfortable, well equipped in the kitchen and with everything else you'd need, and sported great views (it's one of the highest points in the area). The amenities in the area (pool, tennis, basketball) are a nice bonus. Highly recommended.

We had a family reunion here with 19 guests. Nine of those were children so we easily fit. The main family room and kitchen is large and we felt there was plenty of space for all of us. Mark was a pleasure to work with and answered all of my questions. We hope to be back in the future to enjoy this house again.

Beautiful house with all you need!
We were very happy throughout our stay. The house is beautiful with wonderful views and away from the crowd of vacation rentals quite close to eachother below. Very close and easy access to the beach and a part of the great community of "Beachwalk " where there is a pool, lake, and tennis. . We were a family of 5 with adult kids. The number of floors and stairs could be difficult for older couples or very young children., but we had no trouble.
We met Mark, and what a great guy, who gave us tons of info, a very sweet welcome basket and an offer to help us with anything we needed. We tried to leave the house as clean as we found it and hope we did not disappoint. Thank you for a beautiful vacation... we did not want to leave.

Great stay!
Three families joined together to rent this home for the long weekend. We enjoyed the beach and pool as well as the views from this spacious home. We had 6 adults and 8 kids between the ages of 7 and 15. It was a great location for both kids and parents. The view from the top two floors was stunning, allowing us to view many fireworks. We enjoyed eating meals and playing games together in the kitchen/family room. The home has many stairs, so parents of young children may find it a challenge, but we appreciated that the multiple levels allowed parents and kids their own spaces.
