Genießen Sie außergewöhnliche Ausblicke und verbinden Sie sich wieder mit dem, was in dieser abgelegenen, komplett neu gestalteten Kabine wichtig ist. Jedes Zimmer ist mit handwerklicher Handarbeit und kreativ umgestalteten Materialien ausgestattet. Die Umgebung ist privat, mit fast 200 Morgen unberührten Waldes vor der Hintertür - und doch sind wir nur sieben Minuten vom Healdsburg-Platz mit großartigen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, einer Fülle von Probierräumen und Restaurants entfernt, die jedem Gaumen gefallen. Eine Weinprobe entlang der immer noch kleinen und schönen Weinstraße des Russian River ist in der Nähe und bequem.
Klettern Sie die Stufen hinauf zu einem ruhigen Zufluchtsort mit herrlicher Aussicht, und Sie werden nicht mehr gehen wollen (viele tun es nicht). Von April bis August haben wir Zugang zum Russian River zum Kajakfahren, Schläuchen oder Faulenzen am Strand. Das ganze Jahr über stehen Wanderwege direkt vor oder hinter der Haustür zur Verfügung. Auf dem Fluss können Sie Rad fahren und Paddeln. Innerhalb einer kurzen Autofahrt erreichen Sie einige der schönsten Wanderwege und Fahrgeschäfte der Region.
Wir haben handgefertigte Hartholzböden und (beheizte) Fliesen mit gut platzierten Fenstern für ein sehr offenes Gefühl, das dennoch absolute Privatsphäre bewahrt. Genießen Sie die Außenterrasse, während Sie die Aussicht genießen, ein Nickerchen machen, Wein lesen oder nippen. Oder wagen Sie sich zurück, um einen 180-Grad-Blick über die Bäume zu genießen, unter freiem Himmel zu grillen, die Ereignisse der Tage zu erzählen oder einfach nur Hufeisen zu spielen.
Bei allem Charme und Handwerk macht das Layout Sinn. In der Master-Suite befindet sich ein Cal Kingsize-Bett, ein 'en suite' Vollbad und eine private Terrasse. Im oberen Bereich des Gästezimmers befinden sich zwei Zwillinge, die in den Wald blicken. Auf dieser Hauptebene befindet sich ein separates Badezimmer. Wir haben auch zwei weitere Zwillinge auf der überdachten Veranda sowie ein umwandelbares Doppel- / Schlafsofa im Eingangsbereich. Die Küche öffnet sich zur Veranda, schaut über die Bäume hinaus und ist mit dem Hauptwohnzimmer verbunden.

We had a lovely stay here. It was peaceful and quiet with many thoughtful touches from our host. The view from the balcony was spectacular and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked to cook and the host was very responsive to questions and suggestions for what to do locally. 10’out of 10!

There are a number of steps from the road to the door and parking is tight, however, those are only minor inconveniences in comparison to the wonderful views and peaceful location. We had a great time relaxing on the patio taking in the views. The property is located in a very quite neighborhood just outside of Healdsburg. It is an easy 11 minute drive to all of the restaurants, bars and tasting rooms in Healdsburg.

The place is actually lovely - beautifully designed and great views. We originally had booked it for five people and at the last minute two did not come, and that worked out well. It is too small to comfortably host five people.
The owner was initially hard to communicate with about adding another person, but when I reached her she was great. During our stay, we had a little outbreak of ants in the kitchen, and she was super responsive and brought over ant traps.
There were a few downsides. The description says there is air conditioning, and there is not. This was kind of a bummer on days when the temp was in the high 80s.
The description does mention steps, but it does not say that there are 67 - quite a schlep for moving baggage in and out. Also, it was challenging for my 81-year-old mother, who is in great shape but still had a hard time with the climb and descent.
But probably the biggest issue was the access. The map shows that it is a somewhat windy road, but there is no mention that the last part of the trip is on a narrow one-lane road with a sharp drop on one side. It was harrowing coming back at night.
All of these things would have been deal killers had I known about them. That said, we had two people over to visit who fell in love with the place and were not bothered by them. So I guess it just varies based on your expectations and what amenities you are willing to sacrifice. This could be a great place for the right people, but that was not us.

All the reviews are accurate about the stairs and parking; if you usually can’t climb stairs or parallel park, this might not work out for you. For us, the stairs aren’t that bad and feels good after a day of wine visits plus my husband and I can parallel park. With that said, Heathers place is like a cozy treehouse and we loved the view off the front porch. The kitchen is well stocked, living spots have plenty of games/movies, and we found helpful extras around like candles, bug spray, and even an extra toothbrush we needed. We spent a lot of time on the front porch and every morning a deer would come down the side of the house and graze in the fenced in front area, it was sweet to watch. It’s a windy road getting up/down the mountain but you get used to it and you’re so close to downtown, a great location with a view. I recommend staying here!

Yes, this is definitely a Hilltop Retreat. Clean, well appointed, charming, and between the sun porch and sitting area above the home, very relaxing and peaceful. Us, the Birds, and beautiful, mature Bay Laurel Trees. We were in the area to attend a family wedding. It was the perfect spot to relax in-between visits with the family.
Once we settled in, it was perfect. You should, however, definitely confirm what type of vehicle you are driving with Heather the host as the parking is tricky (small vehicles are best), and to access the hilltop retreat are many stairs, then more stairs to get to the kitchen and main living area. (65 stairs in all). Travel light! It's worth it.
We loved it. We would stay again when visiting the area. Thank you Heather for providing such a beautiful space.

This is a great property and ideal for being in Sonoma County and the town of Healdsburg. The home is thoughtfully equipped for every need and is beautiful in its local and beauty. Heather is great to work with and you will love the views and the restful experience. 5 stars!

My sister, 4 of our friends and I stayed here for a long weekend in May. The house is very nice, well-stocked, with gorgeous views. I particularly loved sleeping on the sleeping porch looking out at the stars. The host was quick to respond to texts and very helpful.

The property is quite lovely. Nowhere in the
Listing did it say that there are 63 stairs to the kitchen. The barbecue was unusable, and the coffee pot didn’t work. I spent a few hours trying to fix it. For the cost of this property, I expected everything to be clean and in working order. Also, the 10 pm ordinance of
No noise outside was not addressed in the listing.

This is a beautiful property and very close to Healdsburg downtown. There is a windy road that leads to this property, a little tricky. The parking on the narrow street was a bit tricky and cumbersome. However the home is nice. The upstairs has a nice big balcony with refreshing view, kitchen is quite well stocked. Before booking I didn’t notice about the stairs, but Heather immediately communicated and answered my questions. I booked it regardless knowing it’s going to be a little steep and packed light. My Mom, an elderly person had a fall on the first day, it was quite dark when we reached and she missed a round step. She also had another fall from the dining chairs which had rollers in them, a little inconvenient. Apart from these two incidents, we had a nice stay.

I feel like this home is exactly why VRBO exists - a completely unique and awesome home that we would never have a chance to stay in otherwise. The pictures reallly don't do it justice - the view is spectacular and the area is so peaceful and quiet. It has everything you'd need and more.

What a wonderful home on a very quiet little mountain road just a short drive to downtown Healdsburg. The home is perched on the hillside lending outstanding verdant views. Note that the stairs are steep and a bit arduous toting luggage/supplies, but it's worth it. It is such a peaceful and serene setting. The home has stunningly detailed craftsmanship and it is very tastefully decorated. There is ample space for relaxing, including a very large covered outdoor porch with lots of comfortable seating and a trundle bed. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything you could need. The backyard is spacious and private with a BBQ. The home is a short drive to the river at Del Rio Woods. The owner is very responsive and the detailed information (a manual, really) about the home plus helpful tips about the area was invaluable. Parking on the narrow street is tight, but manageable. We had a wonderful time in a spectacular home. Excellent in every way.

We really enjoyed out stay @ this property. We had an issue when we first arrive which Heather took care of immediately to our satisfaction. The house is comfortable with numerous amenities, and we particularly enjoyed the back porch. The house location is perfect for wine tasting in Healdsburg; it's good to arrive before dark so you become familiar with the windy roads.

This was an ideal spot for us to land for a few days of rest on our cross country road trip. We loved the indoor/ outdoor flow of the house, which easily stays cool and comfortable on hot days. The house is very well furnished and stocked. So comfortable!

Perfect spot for celebrating our daughter's birthday - wine tasting in local wineries and then relaxing in this mountain top retreat with great views. Close to town and local eateries. Very comfortable and equipped home. The owner was very attentive and easy to work with. We hope to return!

This is a lovely property exactly as described in VRBO. Great kitchen, beautiful balcony (though likely if even greater use when not February temperatures).
Lots of amenities in case you forget e.g. toothbrush. Well stocked spices and such for cooking.

Parking is tight on site for a medium sized car at bet but more parking is available down the road on the side.
Lots of stairs to unit so if that is a concern, might impact the visit

A beautiful property with lovely house bult on side of mountain. Lots of trees and flowers, view over valley and down to Russian River (sadly running very low). House very user friendly, and has a covered front porch which is unique and exceptional. Owner responsive and friendly. Clean, nice amenities, including books and DVD's. Would love to come back!

Very much as described. Heather was a pleasant and responsive host. The second story porch was our favorite spot - great views and ample seating. Ten minute drive or ride share to town for tasting rooms, dining and shopping. Would highly recommend.

This place is great. Nicely appointed with everything you would need. There are quite few stairs up to the house but that’s how you get the view. It has a welcoming vibe and the owner was very responsive. I love the area - Fitch Mountain is such a cool neighborhood. You can walk down to the River and it’s a short drive to downtown Healdsburg. The best part is the fantastic porch on the upper floor.

Our first visit to Healdsburg was made all the more special by this amazing property! It is cozy and well-appointed with a beautiful view from the spacious porch. We were even greeted one morning by several deer passing through the backyard. As others have mentioned, parking is a little tricky and there are quite a few stairs to climb, but once you reach the top, you are rewarded with quiet, comfort and tranquility.

The only problem with renting this house for a hometown visit is that I did not want to leave the house! The layout was perfect for my family...me upstairs, my grown son and his girlfriend downstairs. The home is unassuming from the street, but the interior is absolutely beautiful, and clean, clean, clean. The Craftsman details are a delight. The home is perfectly welcoming and comfortable (although the twin bed was not to my liking - but my partner calls me "Princess and the Pea" - so take that with a grain of salt). The porch is so inviting...I spent every morning and evening relaxing (and even working) on the porch. The road the house is on is narrow but quiet. My little hatchback fit into the parking space perfectly. We enjoyed morning and evening visitors in the back yard (a couple of does and two fawn). Just beware - there are a LOT of stairs, so best for those who are able to traverse stairs. In closing - this is the most relaxed I have been in at least 6 months!

Such a gorgeous home tucked away on the hillside of Healdsburg, Sonoma. Loved the privacy and accommodations. We very much enjoyed sitting out on the covered patio enjoying coffee each morning and a wonderful and relaxing way to end the day. We will be back!

The house and yard were amazing. Highly recommend staying here unless stairs are hard for you, there are lots! Also, if bringing a car, make sure it’s a small one as parking is super tight. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place for 4 people. Porch was super nice for eating, entertaining a few more folks and reading in a nice nook. Steps up from the parking area was a good challenge for older in-laws but they managed. Loved the back area too with horseshoes :-)

Such an amazing house with the most incredible view. My family had a great time in Healdsburg for my sister’s wedding and this house was the perfect retreat. The stairs are worth the climb for the view and the breeze coming in through the windows. Would love to stay here again!
