Stunning views with the relaxing sounds of the creek in the background. Several trails were within 30 minutes and under drive time from the cabin. Secluded and full of wildlife yet still close to town. We loved staying here, thank you for sharing your home with us!

This was our third year staying at this wonderful cabin. Our vacation ran from August 8th - 17th, this was a late planned vacation. We shall call this vacation "The Year of the Bull Moose". The wildlife was abundant this year especially the two bull moose who hung out most days close to the cabin. Colorado was amazing as always and this year led us on many adventures. We brought kayaks from home and had a great time on Spinney Mountain Reservoir. The kids hiked around the cabin to the top of the peak one afternoon. We drove to Breckenridge twice and had a wonderful time sightseeing. We enjoy the proximity of Fairplay to the cabin and running to get items at Prather's Market. This vacation was a wonderful opportunity for Rick and I to hang out with the kids. Our dog loves running the moose trails around the cabin, he loves to run and get a drink in the creek that runs through the property. This is an excellent vacation location for us. We loved everything about the cabin! The views were amazing, the moose came right up along the driveway, and our girls loved fishing in the pond. We can’t wait to come back!

Great place to get away and see wildlife without leaving the porch!!! Favorite place ever!!!

The cabin was lovely but what really makes this stay phenomenal is the outstanding views and prolific wildlife everywhere. The owner was excellent in communication and understanding of my last minute requests which I sincerely appreciate. Please know that our 8 year old needed to leave early due to altitude sickness and extreme elevated heart rate. My husband and teenager stayed the entire 3 nights and both were still struggling with altitude by the time they packed up. Keep in mind the altitude is no joke. Other than that, amazing.

The drive to the property was a bumpy one but once you get through the gate it feels like you have Colorado to yourself! The porch was my favorite place to sit to watch and listen to nature. When not outside, we spent most of our time in the dining room and kitchen which were both very comfortable! We saw mule deer, a wolf, a donkey, and a moose on the property! We also saw huge birds that ate birds seed right in front of the window and very curious and friendly humming birds! The house was nice and comfortable and there was plenty of space to explore without leaving the property!

The two of us loved our stay at this remarkable cabin. The setting was beautiful and restful which we needed. One has to see the property and cabin to appreciate it. We saw a lot of wildlife from the deck. One day there was a bull moose, who we named Mortimer. Another day we saw a cow and calf. Mule deer were frequent visitors and the last day a mountain lion ran across our path. We would see a lot of new tracks each morning so there was a lot of activity at night. The deck is set up well so a person can sit on it and view the beauty. All the picnic tables were well placed for optimal viewing of the beautiful scenery. The bedrooms were the most peaceful we have stayed in. The owners were always ready to help and solve any problems that came up. Thanks you for sharing this remarkable cabin. We will be back.

Words can’t describe how beautiful the land this cabin sits on. It was the perfect stay to get away from it all, the cabin was cozy with a well stocked kitchen and nice grill. As Colorado native’s this was our first time seeing a bear, weasel, several sightings of moose and deer and at night we could hear fox barking. We would not second guess stay there again!!

This was our fourth trip to this property, and again we had a wonderful stay. The cabin has everything you could need, and the location can't be beat. Looking forward to ur next visit.

As advertised… Beautiful. House was very clean and well furnished with everything you need. Much of the things you would think you need to bring is already there. If your looking for scenery and seclusion this is the place for you!

We had an excellent time at this property- spent 6 wonderful days enjoying hiking, fishing and wildlife-we saw bear, elk, moose, fox and lots of birds. Monica the host was incredible- very thorough and quick to reply with questions. Monica by far was the best VRBO host we've ever had the pleasure to have. If you're looking for a respite from the rat race- quiet, serene, beautiful crisp clean air, creek running thru property, yet comfortable with all the amenities of home you should book a stay here. Perfect location…

Everything was extremely easy from booking, to arrival, & departure. Nothing came up for us as everything was as promised. We truly enjoyed our family getaway and look forward to returning in the summer. I encourage anyone that is looking to be off grid this is your chance to truly enjoy nature and the time with your family! Thanks Monica!

This is a great little place. Me and our friends enjoyed our stay even though we have to leave a day early. The pond was completely frozen due to winter. My friends saw a Fox while walking the dogs. The check in and out process were clear. We had few questions before the trip and tried contacting the owner, but couldn’t reach him. Everything else was great. Would recommend 100%

My boyfriend, doggo, and I stayed for 5 days and 4 nights. Not enough!!! Our grown mid-30s selves nearly threw ourselves on the floor in a tantrum before we left... we may or may not... have teared up while departing because this was such a beautiful experience for us. We were so, so fortunate to have grabbed the few days that were available. This property, this home is absolutely stunning. + Monica was incredibly friendly and communicative - thank you so much, Monica!! I had read a past review for this property and someone had mentioned that they were feeling blessed to have experienced some days here and.... there couldn't have been anything more accurately expressed. We felt so blessed waking up every morning to such a cozy, COZY cabin and seeing the gorgeous views. I'm less adventurous so lounging in the cabin & hanging out on the deck with some hot coffee was perfect *chef's kiss* while my boyfriend and dog were out frolicking about to their hearts' desires! We also had such a good time making our own version of Jon Z + Enrique Iglesia's music video (boyfriend's into film & brought all his camera equipment) :D The sounds of the creek that runs through the property is simply serene. I couldn't get over it. To those of you new to the higher altitudes, definitely stay hydrated and keep a glass or bottle of water by the bedside! The first half of the stay definitely took some adjusting even coming from Denver! We will definitely make some time to return for a longer stay. Tantrum 100% guaranteed if we don't. My silly dog took a while to realize that we were home and looked pretty confused when we returned :( What a glorious getaway.

A beautiful rock-solid log cabin in a peaceful remote location. You feel like you're hours from civilization, but really only 15 minutes from the town of Fairplay. The owners have provided so many welcoming touches, indoors and out, to make staying there a great experience. With towering mountains all around, a creek and pond right outside, it's honestly just a knockout place to stay.

It's hard to find a cabin that's truly by itself with a backyard that is a national forest. Everything about the property is great and pictures don't do it justice. It makes for a great getaway for those who love nature/peace. The stream adds a wonderful, relaxing sound. Saw several moose, both on the property and in the neighborhood. Definitely would love to return in the future!

Oftentimes, photos of properties do not give you a real sense of how close you are to other homes. That was not the case with this cabin. You are at the end of the road and the views out the front of the cabin are priceless. The full log cabin provides everything you need. Note the elevation, if you have concerns, it would be a good idea to stay the night before in Denver to get used to the higher elevations. I would also recommend 4 wheel drive if you are coming during snow season.

Over all the cabin is beautiful. Great views and the creek on property is picturesque.

This was the second year in a row that we stayed at this amazing vacation home. It is a wonderful place for my wife and I, two kids and our dog. We enjoy walking the trails, playing around the creek, and watching for wildlife. This year we saw the mom and baby moose several times. This is a great location to relax and unwind. Hopefully this wasn't our last time staying here.

Pictures and words can’t describe how beautiful this place is. The whole experience is perfect, from the roads leading to the property to the property, land and views. If you want to experience a true mountain getaway this is it.

My family ( including our three children 17 - 22) was so blessed by this indescribable experience. We wanted a place with seclusion, a creek and pond, in the mountains. This property checked all those boxes. The photos of the scenery do not show the true splendor - it is so breath taking. As a bonus, the cabin was amazing. Everything was as described and so much more. I honestly cannot put into words, how wonderful this place was for us. We were so very blessed.... WOW

We stayed in the cabin 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The views all around the cabin are incredible and pictures do not do much justice. The cabin was very clean and well stocked and the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Monica was a wonderful host and very quick with answering any questions that came up. Hoping to have the opportunity to stay here again in the future!

We had an amazing time at the cabin! There were 3 adults, 2 kids, 2 teens, and 1 dog. We had plenty of space and thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and all the amenities. Kitchen had everything we needed- although microwave was broken. We loved the old school Nintendo system and the large dining table for family game nights and big dinners. The absolute best part about the cabin is the property. This place is amazing. It was a perfect Colorado scenery, with a meandering river through a lush valley. The forest was incredibly healthy and green and healing! We loved watching the clouds pour over the mountains each afternoon. The waterfalls were everywhere! And the wildflowers were truly stunning. We caught many little brookies fly fishing in the creek and the pond. We hiked up to the peak above the cabin and enjoyed an amazing view. Altogether, it was a perfect family vacation. Thank you Monica for the awesome experience!

Photos simply can't capture true grandeur of the location and home. Photos can't capture the crisp air, the warmth of the sun, the cool of the shade, the overwhelming feeling of amazement watching the sunset and then stars, or the ice cold snow melt water on your bare feet. The setting for this cabin is spectacular. We had daily visits from moose, fox, hummingbirds, brook trout, and chipmunks. We had excellent hiking and fishing locally. The town of Fairplay is terrific. Don't overlook the mining town museum; a walkthrough village of authentic relics and buildings. The cabin was very well appointed, comfortable, and clean. There are many places to get cozy, eat alfresco, or just sit peacefully. The kitchen had decent cutlery (a rarity at rentals), all the necessities, and a really nice BBQ grill on the covered porch. The puzzles and games made for fun family time. And the owners were very gracious and responsive. The elevation is humbling. Don't expect to conquer a 14er right away unless you are strong and acclimated. Try Pennsylvania Mountain as a warm-up. This is a very special place.
