Rustic Vermont Barn Home Near Jay Peak w/Pizza Oven

We love this place. We’ve stayed twice and will be back. It’s clean, warm (in the winter) and quite charming. The host is welcoming and informative. The ping pong table was a hit with the kids

What a lovely home-perfect for our two-family get away to witness the eclipse! We have already made our next reservation! The hostess was super attentive. There were so many treasures to enjoy throughout the home! Ping pong was played for multiple hours. The pizza oven was so fun, produced super tasty pizzas, and quick!! The tub in the bonus space provided pampering during the day and additional private sleeping at night. Plenty of cozy spots were appreciated for reading, conversing and naps. We even completed one of the puzzles just before midnight the night before we left (delighted to find that not a piece was missing). We had such a wonderful time! We highly recommend this home!

We stayed for a full month & loved our stay. We were greeted with a basket of food/snacks and each room had towels and soaps laid out.
'Ye Old Barn, while having some quirks, served us very well for our stay. It was rustic and endearing. The kitchen is a great space, fully functional and fully stocked with cooking gear.
There is a great spot to bring in your ski gear and store to warm up for the next day. Saw some snow shoes and sleds (which we didn't use). We used the laundry a lot and appreciated the supplied detergent, laundry basket, etc.
Beds were comfortable. There are plenty of sheets, blankets and pillows. Plenty of hot water (just don't do laundry at same time). Couches were also comfy, plenty of spaces to sit.
Easy walk to Sylvester's or 'the Shoe' and about 12 minutes up to Jay Peak.
Internet and wireless worked flawlessly allowing me to work remotely including teleconferencing.
Piano is in tune if you are a player. We even used the pizza oven outside which was a lot of fun.
Quirks I mentioned... Learning the light switches, using spiral stairs, small shower upstairs and 2nd shower downstairs, no queen bed had access on both sides and access to the annex from the kitchen/downstairs is a bit of a hike with the stairs. It is a converted barn and we expected this type of thing, none of them a big deal at all.
Jill, our host, was super responsive and easy to communicate with and very willing to accommodate (even bought us some new non-stick frying pans).

We’ve made the Ye Olde Barn a ski trip tradition for my family and friends. Such a great/unique spot with plenty of charm and perks!
Great location and close to Jay!

Our recent stay was the best vacation experience both families have experienced in years. We have stayed in many different rental homes while skiing in Vermont/NH/Maine. Nothing will compare to the warm, welcoming and special feeling as guests we received from Jill & Rafael. The Barn is amazing, the space is perfect for two families and the character of the home makes you feel like you are enchanted.
Jill and Rafael provided a wonderful welcoming and made you feel at home throughout the entire trip. Communication was excellent and helpful. The location is perfect for Jay Peak or visiting the Montgomery area which is also a hidden gem of a ski town!
The weather was not in our favor to ski one day however that didn't matter. Kids played, adults read, and there was even some background piano tunes going while relaxing in the warmth of fireplaces.
Jill & Rafael thank you so much for sharing your home & kindness with our families. We cannot wait till next year!
Cheers,
Shawn

Overall had a great time at this place. My friends and I loved the pizza that came out of the oven but you really have to know what you're doing or it doesnt come out the way you want. Beds were comfy. Place was clean and with plenty of space for activities. The extra studio was also worth it for more personal space for everybody as well!

great spot and we loved it. But my brother left a shirt in the 2nd BR closet. my son lives in Jeffersonville and could pick it up for us. please msg me and we'll figure it out. Such a cool spot, wish we had more time there and more sun to enjoy the yard! Thx for sharing your beautiful home and amazing kitchen which we also didn't utilize!

Such a cool and unique place. We loved the Barn and it's location. Perfect place for a ski trip with friends/family to Jay Peak. We had 8 people and there was plenty of space with the additional studio. Plan on making this a yearly trip! Thanks Jill!

Condo was very clean and fresh look. Close to beach and resort with restaurants. Must take taxi or rent a car to go anywhere. Taxis are plentiful and can be found at the Sapphire Beach resort next door.

We arrived on the coldest day I have ever experienced in my life (-23 degrees!). The owners made sure the home was warm and comfy for our arrival. It set the tone for what was to be a great week. We loved this property and it's location, as it was just a short walk to town and a quick drive to Jay Peak. The house has a ton of charm and space, and we especially enjoyed playing ping pong after a long day of skiing. The kitchen had everything you could need for cooking and was a great space to hang out. The owners checked in periodically and were a pleasure. We had a great time! Places to recommend: the Salt Cave, The Inn (just across the street!), the Snowshoe Pub, Cafe Oma, and the Belfry.

I'll try to keep this short but I have to really spell out how wonderful Jill and Rafael were to us in regards to our rental+. We had originally rented this in April '22 but bc of family illness/death, we were not able to make the trip. No problem! We were able to rebook for this past wknd, Feb '23. Upon entering I was quickly reminded of why we booked their home. It is everything you want in a VT home: cozy, spacious, clean, great kitchen. You name it, they have thought of everything. We bought our dog and there is even a fenced in side yard for him. Oh and the pizza oven. It is a top notch, high level, off the hook oven if I've ever seen one. The pizzas were too die for! Nothing like it after a long day of skiing.
House is perfectly located in the quaint town of Montgomery and you can walk to everything. Literally everything. Easy peasy. Jill and Rafael have outfitted the home with a binder that has pretty much anything and everything you need to know about the area. We appreciated the info.
Communication was top notch from the get-go and there were never any questions. However what happened after we left is unheard of. Jill sent me a msg that our son had left his Math folder in the house. The last thing anyone wants to read after you're 1 hr down the road. But Jill and Rafael immediately offered to take photos of the critical pages and promptly mailed it back to us this morning. So we had about 20 pages scanned and sent over for us to print by the time we got home. Who does this? Only good humans. Amazing humans.
Clearly we had a great experience. But, we would have without the act of kindness. It's just too special not to share. Don't hesitate on Ye Old Barn! You will not regret it. xx

Our family has always wanted to ski in Vermont, so as a Christmas gift we decided to look for a place to rent. The Ye Olde barn was a perfect place to stay, it had several different areas where everyone could enjoy different TV shows, etc. allowing us to be together but yet have space away. The fenced in yard was great for our dog to run, which he so enjoyed!! The pizza oven was so much fun to use!! The overall experience with renting to staying to checking out was awesome! The owners kept in contact to make sure we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay at this Barn again. Thank you so much!!

Our family had a terrific stay at "Ye Olde Barn"!
Jill was a great host! Quick to respond to any questions we had before arriving and after arrival. The Barn had plenty of space for the family, inside and outside! We enjoyed the pizza oven...even in the rain! Montgomery Center is a wonderful starting place for exploring Northern Vermont. Looking forward to our next stay!

We had a lovely stay at the barn! Our visit was towards the end of the summer and the house is a short drive and vigorous hike to a beautiful river swimming hole. The house itself is very quaint and eclectic. Make sure to bring your pizza dough to take advantage of their outdoor brick oven!

Unique, wonderful property
We loved our long weekend in March centered around skiing at Jay Peak. The mountain is 15 minutes away, an easy drive, even in the blizzard we experienced (though we definitely used our 4-wheel drive). The house is a refurbished barn that has been made into a very comfortable, attractive, and spacious vacation home. Several locations for multiple groups to convene. Two large TVs. Fabulous large kitchen. Everything as advertised, even the brick pizza oven outside. Highly recommended!

Great house in the center of town. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. Large fenced in yard for our dog. We had a small group but this house can accommodate large groups.

Just as described
Rustic charm. Had everything we needed and more. Even had a fenced in large yard for our two small dogs. Convenient to Jay Peak. All the locals were welcoming. The grocery store was amazing for its size. Restaurants were excellent. Hosts checked on our needs and even bought a new coffee pot. No complaints over 18 days.

Perfect Jay Peak Ski House
This house was absolutely awesome. The pictures totally do not do justice to how big this place honestly is. We had 5 people and 1 child who is 2 years in age, and there was so much space to hang/eat as a group when we wanted, as well as just disperse and do our own thing when we wanted. The mud room was clutch for keeping all our snow gear as we had a set of people at Jay 6 of our 7 days at the house. It was also perfectly heated with a workout cycle, that I used for one day to get some cardio in. It’s unfortunate of COVID times because the house is perfectly situated on a main street in Montgomery with nice restaurants and a few shops, that would have been really enjoyable to walk to as they are that close. The supermarket is also a 1 minute drive, few minute walk, with a gas station too, so if you forget anything on your list, don’t fret. The pizza oven was absolutely awesome too. We did two nights of pizzas and I highly recommend a pizza night for your stay. Fun group activity, and just absolutely delicious if you do it right. Bedrooms were also super spacious, multiple beds...again, our 5 people and a child never were in each other’s way at all. Could have easily doubled our group.
Thank you Jill and Rafa for a wonderful stay!

Perfect ski vacation
We were originally a group of 9 people (7 adults and 2 teenagers), traveling for an end of February ski vacation. We added the optional apartment to our stay to accommodate the couples we had with us. The pictures don’t do this property justice. It’s huge, with bedrooms upstairs, and kitchen/dining room/living room/mud room and laundry room downstairs with a full bathroom to boot. We had a ton of space, we’re warm and cozy, cooked every night and overall felt right at home. The ping pong table made for many fun games and occupied the kids. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathrooms were comfortable and the water very hot. We took much needed baths after a day on the slopes.
The house is 15 minutes away from Jay Peak, a straight shoot up to the resort. We had a four wheel drive, which we think is a must in VT in the winter. It showed half the week we were there, and the driveway was plowed, as was Main Street.
There are a few restaurants on Main Street that we walked to for dinner or breakfast, a small grocery store and a bar with pool tables we hung out at.
Overall, we’d love to come back and will do so without any hesitations!
Thank you for a perfect stay, a warm welcome and a great historic yet cozy and comfortable place to stay!

ye Old Barn
We had a wonderful stay while visiting family in the local area. The house was much bigger than we realized and was very comfortable for the 6 people and 1 dog in our party. Loved the ping pong table and piano. The fenced yard was perfect for our dog.
Booking was easy and the owner was very accommodating with
checkin and checkout. We really appreciated the goodies she left for us at checkin. We would all highly recommend this property.

The perfect set up for a comfortable, relaxing family get together
The entire experience was wonderful. We recently rented The barn for a family wedding. From interfacing with Jill, the owner, the check in, accommodations, decor, kitchen set up, bed rooms it could not have worked out any better. There were, 3 family’s that shared the stay and we all would go back in a heartbeat. The large family and kitchen room allowed us to entertain a number of guest and all regretted they were not staying with us. Both the Piano and ping pong table kept people entertained. Thanks Jill and “ Ye Old Barn” for making a special weekend even more special. hIGHLY recommended

Five Year Anniversary Celebration
We had a wonderful time at the Ye Old Barn! We can’t thank Jill and Rafael enough for everything. We had more than enough room for our entire family and it was the perfect location to celebrate our father’s five year anniversary. Our father grew up in Montgomery, so being able to stay in Montgomery center brought back so many wonderful memories for all of us. Jay Peak was a short drive away and we were able to ride the tram to the top of mountain to celebrate our dad’s old stomping ground. There was a great fenced in yard st the Barn where we were able to have a lovely cookout with our entire family. We would definitely stay here again! The Ye Old Barn is a great hidden treasure in the beautiful town of Montgomery, Vermont!

Totally Awesome Stay!
This barn is better than advertised. We loved the close proximity of the two dining tables allowing the adults their own table while the kids dined together. Having two living rooms was also amazing, letting adults socialize within earshot of our kids who were watching hockey and playing ping-pong! Best of all was the close walk to town, Donny at the ski shop, and buying 40 liters of soda just so we could get buy-one-get-one passes for the skihill and water park. We don't actually drink soda, so we put it all back in the case at the store after purchase!

Ski trip fabulous!
We enjoyed the spacious, unique and fun setting at Ye Old Barn! 9 young boys all 16 years old, lounged and ate family-style meals together at the handmade generous table; perfect amount of bathrooms and literally hours of piano playing as they learned using an app!!! Jill was delightful and welcoming and left personal touches like home baking for us. Gaming galore! We had a stellar time and the boys reviewed it as a "sick" place to stay = excellent in their language!
Cheers!

Jay Peak Barn
We have so many good things to say about this property and Jill (the manager). Every year, we do a large ski group of late 20s early 30 somethings. There are usually about 10-12 of us, so finding a house large enough that also isn't crazy expensive can be a challenge. This house is absolutely perfect. It is a renovated old barn, and really cool on the inside. There is plenty of room to relax and watch tv, cook meals, eat together in the dining room, and even play ping pong upstairs. It is located approximately 15 minutes from Jay Peak. A word of advice, it does get pretty snowy on the mountain road, so for skiing it would make sense to drive a 4wd vehicle to the mountain (the road from the house has a bit of an incline which could potentially be challenging in the snow). Jill met us at the house, was very accommodating when our arrival times changed, and was receptive to any and all of our needs. She checked in on us via text a few times just to see if there was anything she could do. The town of Montgomery is super cute, one night we stayed home and relaxed at the house, the other night we walked up the street to the "Snow Shoe Tavern" to see the live band and enjoy a beer. There were ski shops and other restaurants/bars all within walking distance. There are plenty of beds and our group of 11 was more than comfortable. Jill even texted us the next day to ask if she could send a few items we forgot home (free of charge). I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking to have an awesome ski weekend. We will be back.

Fun ski house
Just stayed over the holidays for 4 nights with another family--4 adults and 6 kids between us. There was more than enough room for all of us to spread out. There are a variety of bedroom configurations to suit most groups. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table and xbox after a day on the slopes. The kitchen is great, very large and accommodating. Plenty of room in the back to stow inside to store ski gear, boots & coats. Nice, warm heating system. Really liked the rustic touches of the exposed brick and wide plank floors. House is close to everything, easy access to Jay Peak and grocery stores and restaurants. A true cozy ski house, we had a great time!

Great location and plenty of room
We were in town for a summer wedding and had family staying all over town which is pretty much within walking distance. We were able to comfortably host our family and enjoy a nice evening of conversation, food, piano and xbox for the younger kids.
Jill met us at the door when we got in town and walked us around their place. The first floor has a great kitchen, dining room, bathroom with shower and living room. There is also a huge area for ski/snowboard gear connected to the laundry room. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms with enough room to comfortably sleep 8-10. That does not include the futons. There is only one bathroom upstairs but worked since there is one downstairs. Even though this place used to be a barn it has been remolded and we had a great time.
Thanks again Jill you guys have a great place. Hopefully next time we can stay in the winter and enjoy Jay Peak!

What a great stay.
We booked Ye Old Barn for a group get-together with 16 guys spending the night. The barn was perfectly located in the center of town yet private enough that our group didn't bug the neighbors. The barn had plenty of places to sleep and even more floor space for air mattresses and the like. The sprawling layout of the house made it perfect for hosting our large group.

Absolutely wonderful
The barn is absolutely incredible! The photos of it are beautiful, but once you see it in person you can really appreciate how big it is and its character. We had a group of 6 and everyone slept very comfortably, and there is plenty of room to accomodate double that amount without feeling crowded. The owners are just wonderful, so friendly and inviting! They let me know throughout our stay that we were welcome to reach out to them with questions, and even let us know about a free creemee (icecream) day that was happening! The location is great, down the street is a neat little coffee shop, a salt cave, grocery store, and pub. Its a quick drive up to Jay Peak and a few minutes away from a swimming hole.
It was a great experience and we look forward to staying at the barn again!

Fun place to stay for skiing at Jay
We had a great time at Ye Olde Barn. Such a funky, unique place that definitely has the ski traveler in mind. The owners were very responsive leading up to and throughout our three night stay. Clean and comfortable. We are already talking about our plans for next year.
