Could improve on overall cleanness of the cabin.
Cabin itself was nice but we found many spots that were not clear. We had kids with us and had to do extra cleaning just to take care of the kids.
Spider webs in every corner of the cabin. Im just giving my honesy feedback about my stay and hope that the owner would consider these points and make the necessary changes for the next guest. Thanks

Spring getaway
We had a good time, host was very responsive. We went to Bear Valley for the day which wasn’t too far. Cabin was fine but very dated especially the kitchen! I suggest bringing your own pots and pans if planning to cook.

Perfect place to enjoy Bear Valley and Giant trees
We loved our stay in this cabin! The house was bigger than expected with great area for kids to play/ read. Tons of movies on DVD including kids-friendly. Super easy check-in process and amazing communication with the owner. We loved how close it was to the Calaveras Big Trees park, snow parks, and Bear Valley skiing. Heating system and fireplace made our nights so nice and cozy.
Thank you Carole for letting us stay in your beautiful house!

Secluded and Charming
My family stayed for two nights. The property is set quite a bit back from the road, which was nice. There was a decent amount of snow but the drive was plowed so getting in was easy. Very conveniently located to many outdoor activities plus a large DVD collection if you want to stay in.

Great house for a family weekend
The house is great and super comfortable for the whole family. It spacious, has lots of beds, a comfortable kitchen. I think it should be noted that the access in winter is tricky, it requires an all-wheel drive or chains, and you need to exit in reverse for more than 100 ft. You also need to bring your own linens and towels.

Cabin in the mountains
this is a great location! in the northern part of Camp Connell means short driving distance to Bear Valley - and if there were snow, then skiing.
The cabin is well set up and warm- has a lot of space for our group of adults and 1 child. Three bedrooms that can easily sleep 10 (with sharing). There is a great fireplace and cozy couches in the living room. Nice woods in the back of the cabin and up against a ranger station so no worries of being on others properties.

Needs improvement and better cleaning
Pros: excellent location and good wi-fi
Cons: Very dirty and needs a thorough cleaning, mold in the shower, dirty kitchen appliances and pans in the cupboards, grimy wood floors, stained carpet, greasy stove vent, bbqs that needed a thorough cleaning and the strange hairball? by the front steps should be removed.
Needs many repairs for the holes in the carpets, missing light switches, dog chewed door, master bedroom drapes, missing light bulbs (6 of the 12 bathroom lights were out as well as 3 of the 5 dining room lights were out and no spares available), loose kitchen sink faucet.
This would be a great rental if the owner would do a thorough cleaning and lots of needed maintenance.

Just what we needed
The Lince cabin was the perfect place for our greatly-needed family vacation. With two teen age kids, we appreciated the spaciousness, yet connected environments the cabin provides. The location is great if you want to be near Arnold, Big Trees park, White Pines Lake, etc. but not in the middle of it all. We did receive a communication prior to our arrival regarding the railing repair, which was not a problem for us since our son and daughter are old enough to know better. When we contacted the cleaning services regarding some supplies, they were very responsive and friendly. We would love to return to the Lince cabin!

Rustic Cabin
Overall we had a pleasant stay at this cabin. There were 3 adults and two kids, 10 and 7, in our party. We were quite comfortable and the house was nicely set up for children.
Finding the property was challenging. Owner might consider putting some kind of bright sign or landmark at the turn onto a dirt road since you can not see the cabin from the street.
There is no neighborhood stream or lake. It was extremely hot when we stayed. Owner might want to list good swimming areas nearby. She suggested White Pine Lake. Since we had young children with us and needed shallow water with no current, we wound up going to Stanislaus River Campground (turn off between Bear Valley and Lake Alpine) one day and Beaver Creek in Big Trees State Park the next. Both areas are shallow, rocky creeks with lots of shade for the adults.
There were a number of maintenance issues to be addressed:
Broken porch rail from winter snow damage, garbage enclosure damaged by bears, slow drain in upstairs tub, sticky lock in front door, funky screens, front windows that had to be propped open and would have functioned as guillotines if our grandchildren had less horse sense (Again it was extraordinarily hot. Ordinarily, one would not have needed to open them.)
The cabin is well supplied with functioning washer and dryer. Lots of hot water. Good WIFI, lots of VCR's and DVD's for family. For winter, I noticed there was an abundance of heavy quilts for the beds. Overall, we were pleased.
I challenge you to count the number of bears (inside the house).

Snow fun!
We had a blast! The way the property is situated, you can sit on the back porch or the front deck and watch the kids sled down gentle hills. This was perfect for the ones who are less ambulatory in my family. We built sled runs, snow forts, and a killer snowman. Epic snowball fights! The cabin was quite spacious, and everything you would hope for.

Snow day getaway
This property is a great place to enjoy the snow. Our toddlers had a great time playing on the property. The house is set up with a great open floor plan and the bedrooms had enough conpy beds to get a good night’s rest. I will definitely consider coming back here again on our next stay.

Needed some nature
We drove down the road to a cute remote cabin with a big deck overlooking a beautiful forest. Access to get in was easy. The floors were hardwood except in the bedrooms, the couches were comfy, kitchen had everything we needed, and my bed was firm. Slept great, had coffee, toasted bagels, (didn't cook), went out for lunch and brought dinner home. We had gorgeous weather so we spent the majority of our evening time outside on the deck chit chatting and unwinding. We had a lovely stay and would like to come again soon.

Our family of 9 fit comfortable and had a great time. White Pines lake was just 15 minutes from the cabin and it was a nice hideaway off the beaten path. Beautiful forest views, and lots of patio space for spending time outside.

Nice family getaway!!
This was a last minute trip and first time getting a cabin. Fit a family of 8 perfectly with room to spare. Enjoyed the nice view on the deck along with the pool table and darts. The Wi-Fi didn't work the whole time we were there but it actually gave us time to enjoy everything. Everyone enjoyed themselves without electronics, we would definitely go back!!

From the beginning til the end, our experience was great. Carole was super responsive and answered all of our questions quickly. Once we got there the property as beautiful and taken care of. The location was close to many activities and was immersed in redwoods. It served all of my family's needs!
