Wir sind im Herzen der südlichen Illinois Weinstraße und nur ein paar Meilen von Bald Knob Cross, wunderschönen Wandergebieten und Radwege. Du wirst Havisham House lieben. Dieses Haus hat historischen Charme und ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Sehr sauber, geräumig und privat. Wenn du ein Zimmer kommst, bekommst du das ganze Haus.
Dieses stattliche Haupthaus bietet zwei schöne Schlafzimmer, 1. 5 Bäder, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, Wohnzimmer, Esszimmer, Frühstücks- / Sonnenzimmer und eine geräumige und entspannte überdachte Veranda. Das Wohnzimmer hat private Türen, einen Gas-Kamin und bequeme Queen-Schlafsofa. Main House bietet Platz für bis zu 6 Erwachsene. Nicht ein kinderfreundliches Zuhause.

Diese Eigenschaft erinnerte mich sofort an diesen klassischen Roman, als wir es im Jahr 2015 fanden ... aufgegeben und schwer beschädigt von einem schweren Tornado. (Siehe "vor" bilder bei havishamhouse com) Sogar mit seinem umfangreichen Schaden verliebten wir uns in dieses Eigentum und hatten "große Erwartungen" für seine Rettung. This is not a place you just stop and sleep; this is a place that you make your whole weekend about.
I did have to admit to my husband how much he spent on this place. My excuse was “it was less than the Peabody”.
Of all the homes, places, rentals I have stayed in over the past fourteen years of traveling - this has been my favorite. I believe it will be hard to top.

The property has lots of space and living areas, making it easy to gather with friends or spread out for privacy. The large covered patio can be enjoyed in any weather. The house is beautifully renovated and very well maintained. There are many delicate decorations so definitely go outside if you want to throw a ball around.

The house is a gorgeous mix of old and new, situated in a quaint town with really nice nature all around. Definitely a neat place to spend some time at or book your wedding at. Works best if you can fill up the sleeping spaces, so then you can take full advantage of the formal dining room. Gerri and Nick are very responsive!

What an amazing home and beautiful setting! Wonderful host, too! We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time. This has become one of favorite new places...we plan to return soon.

Lovely home from the late 19th century that has been beautifully restored. Had an issue with the HVAC upon arrival and the owners were very quick to respond and got the problem fixed. Enjoyed my stay and would stay again. Highly recommend the soaking tub!

Havisham House is truly one of Southern Illinois' hidden gems. The home is spacious and elegant.

This Place Exceeded Our Expectations!
Wow! This house looked great online, but the pics don’t convey the “feeling” it provides. It had so much character that we truly can’t do it justice in words. Every room has been classicly decorated and planned out. The AC worked great and the place was immaculate! The owner is terrific to communicate with and she made us feel very welcome and valued as customers. We have been staying in the area for 20 years and this house is our new favorite!

Fantastic getaway; you won't need any electronics to keep you entertained.
Not enough words to describe how great the property is; but will try. Phenomenal, breathtaking, peaceful, historical, and full of character. There is so much to do in the area. Wineries, wineries, and more wineries. A trip to Cape Girardeau is only 45 minutes away. Thank you for the opportunity to stay here. We will be back.

Havisham House was the perfect spot for a relaxing, girls' weekend! And Southern Illinois, with its lush forests and rolling hills, was an ideal locale for a social distancing getaway! After busy days of driving to take in the scenery - with stops at the wineries for curbside delivery - this beautifully appointed, yet comfortable and cozy Victorian house felt like "home".

Anniversary getaway
What an amazing house. We loved the bathroom, the porch, the kitchen, I could go on and on. The renovation is nothing short of amazing. The whole property is just comfortable and feels like home. And the location is great with easy access to plenty of activities.

This home is so beautiful and comfortable. No detail has been overlooked. The renovation is stunning, and the furnishings are luxe. The home is large and situated on a gorgeous, relaxing property. The owner was very friendly in emails and quite accommodating to our needs. I have high standards, and I would recommend this rental to anyone.

Every aspect of our 2 day stay was wonderful
Jerri was the perfect hostess. The property is beautiful and the house renovations are amazing. Everything is provided for you- just bring your suitcase and enjoy Southern Illinois and all it has to offer. A perfect mini vacation. Thank you Jerri.
