Third time staying in this unit, and would rent it again. Location, views are the best. It’s convenient, comfortable, we just love it. Sometimes housekeeping could be better (maybe don’t trust that the guests before you know how to do dishes properly, etc). But, we love this place and would stay again. Firewood delivery is awesome, and rental management company is easy to work with and responsive.

I would have given this review 5 stars had it not been for the very poor and frustrating experience during check-in at the front desk.
The Purgatory Lodge front desk and vacation rental company were not on the same page with our access cards for both the BUILDING and the POOL as well as a parking pass.
We were not aware all of this was needed and made for a lengthy process after driving all day. There was a lot of calling back and forth with the vacation rental company and the front desk, making sure everyone was on the same page.
It was also discovered the vacation rental company failed to contact me when my credit card did not go through for the pool access upgrade. It would've been nice had they let me know none of that went through instead of handling upon arrival.
We also accidentally left some items at the condo and currently working with the vacation rental company to retrieve those items for us. I do feel like this would be a chance for them to redeem over the top customer service with us despite the check-in process.
Bottom line: Condo was awesome, wonderful amenities, everything we need and perfect location/view. Only downside....and a BIG one for us was the arrival mishap with access cards for building, pool and parking pass. That all could've been avoided with some communication via text, email or phone.

We found the unit to be everything that we hope for. It was well equipped and the views of the ski mountain were incredible. I stayed there for two weeks with my wife then went back to Texas and returned for another two weeks with my friend to fish. I would recommend this unit to anybody who wants to have a fun time at a great location.

PROS:The property was as advertised. Very nice condo. A little dated, but well kept. Location was convenient. Beds we were comfortable. All TVs & appliances were in good working order. Setting was AMAZING.
CONS: Dishes weren't clean, we had wash everything before we could use it. Needs better lighting in the bathrooms, too dark. The last night we were swarmed with gnats inside the condo, although the property manager can't be faulted for that.

The most perfect location!
We could sit on the patio, overlooking the village for hours. The scenic views were just stunning. The house was clean and well equipped. We liked staying up in Purgatory where it’s about 15 degrees cooler, and driving down to Durango or up to Silverton. In our opinion, it was the perfect location and centrally located to everything. We are already looking to come back soon!

Unit review
Location was great and unit was clean. This unit needs maintenance done on both bathroom faucets and shower heads. All are nearly plugged from mineral deposits and water flow is barely enough to wash hands. Unit also needs maintenance on kitchen cabinet doors and drawers. Lighting throughout the condo is insufficient.

Condo at Purgatory Resort - Village Center
Overall very nice condo with wonderful view and location. Condo was clean and had sufficient supplies, towels etc for our stay. Lighting was too dim in bedrooms and bathrooms,
No charging USB ports. We couldn't find the Dining chandelier light switch. Shower head is clogged in 2nd bathroom. Master bedroom lights too high and too dim. View from windows is lovely. Beds were very comfortable and linens were clean and of good quality.

This condo worked out well for my family of 4 skiers. Location can’t be beat. Beds & couch are comfy. It has a washer/dryer, which is a plus on a longer stay. We really enjoyed using the fireplace, and it is easy to call and have wood brought over. Only downside was the people before us really messed up the coffeemaker and cleaners must have overlooked it. Everything else was great, and the rental company was as well. We would definitely stay here again.

This condo is in the perfect location! It was quiet, with great views! It is an older condo so if glitz and glam is your thing this is not the place for you. It was comfortable with everything you need. We had a great week skiing. 2 king bedrooms with 2 separate bathrooms. Washer and dryer worked great. Kitchen had everything we needed. Such a great location! Bedrooms and main areas are spacious and the balconies were wonderful! Make sure you bring cone coffee filters! There was one in the cabinet and no one sold them in the village. The Waffle Cabin is a MUST!

This suite had great views with nice furnishings and comfy beds. Liked having 2 working bathrooms for my family of 5. About as close as you can get to the lifts and summer alpine slide, etc. Would definitely stay here again and tell friends.

Great getaway
Overall this condo had all that we were looking for, nice location, comfortable beds, kitchen stocked with basic essentials to be able to make dinner, access to pool/hot tub to enjoy in the evenings after playing outside during the day. Only complaints were that resort went into off season on the last couple of days so we didn’t anticipate having VERY limited options for food. Also, the patio railing we felt were a little unsafe for our 2 year old but supervised we got to enjoy the cool nights out there. Overall we were happy with our stay and the hosts were very responsive to any questions that came up.

Quick getaway
My wife and 2 teen daughters enjoyed 2 nights here. Plenty of space to relax after hiking. The resort had a lot of activities closed but that has nothing to do with the condo. If everything were open and running this location would have been perfect. Leaky shower which I’m sure will be fixed by now. Great views of the mountain and the rooftop hot tub was a fun change of pace.

Ski In/Out & Great Views!
We booked this place because of the slope and square views. It's ski in/out and perfect for our needs. It has a large dining area, living room and nice size deck. It was prepared and clean for our arrival. We booked through VRBO this time because we wanted to know exactly what we were staying in. We were happy with the unit. It could use some updating as with most units at Purg (we've stayed at several). For the price though, you can't beat it. Would we book it again? Yup, we had a blast!

Great get away
Very convenient and gorgeous location with the best view! Make sure you read instructions all the way through as we had a hard time with the shower and doors to balcony in room. Great place and would stay there again. Also parking is confusing. The front desk said the last garage was overflow parking and was ok to stay there, it was not and we had to move our vehicle so it wouldn’t get a boot.

Best 10th Birthday Ever!
My son chose to celebrate turning double digits snowboarding on the mountain! Our condo was perfect, especially during life of covid. Bathroom trips, food, and resting were all done in our own space instead of sharing with everyone else. Thank you for a super fun mini vacation for our little man!

Beautiful/close as you can get to slopes
This unit is great! Comfy King beds in both bedrooms with warm down bedding. Fully stocked kitchen. Probably has one of the best views of the slopes! Two patios and 2 large windows allows plenty of sunshine into the unit. The hot tub was open. We didn’t pay the extra resort fee but the resort pool/hot tub was open too. If you want to be close to the slopes, book this unit!

This place is about location!
The location of this unit is AMAZING. Not only is it conveniently located right in the Village, but the balcony and windows face the lift and give fantastic, gorgeous views. I could wave to my kids in line at the lifts! The unit itself is dated and in below average condition, from the plumbing (slow) to the furniture (worn). The cleanliness was also average. The counters, toilets, and showers were clean enough. The window sills were dusty and full of dead flies.
The dishes were not clean at all - there were grease and food remnants on dishes, silverware, cups, and pots/pans. There was one dish towel available for the kitchen, and the pot holders had dried food remnants. I realize that this may be the fault of the prior guests, but housekeeping should check on it. It was easy to see. The towels are so old and thin and frayed - like sandpaper. They seem many years old, and we wished we had known to bring our own. The property management company was great. The staff at Purgatory was great. We would stay again for the location if the price was right, but we'd bring our own towels and hope for cleaner conditions.
