Travel in August at Uvita was wonderful. Sunny most of the day, then rain in the evening. Tom was prompt at check-in and check-out and pleasant. We used their services and trusted in them completely as the reviews were excellent. Catered dinner on the covered porch one night after a sunny day at the beach and it thunderstormed which gave an amazing ambiance. Kids went whale watching, took surfing lessons, jet skiing and waterfall exploring (and diving). The house was very clean and the AC was perfect. And lastly, their exit instructions were the best: basically don't do anything. No need to strip beds or throw out excess food. We had a spectacular time and recommend this home and Uvita.

We really enjoyed our trip to Casita Uvita, this is our 5th trip to Uvita and our first time at this house. The location is perfect for walking to the park. The mornings are fantastic by the pool and watching all of the wildlife.

My family and I spent a week here over spring break, and it was wonderful! Tom and Christine were so great to work with and so friendly. They had multiple guests checking in for multiple properties at the same time and Tom's car broke down, yet they expertly managed to get everyone to their respective homes for the week and maintained a very "Pura Vida" attitude amongst the chaos! They were wonderful! The house itself was spotless and had all the amenities you could need. Pool was lovely. A/C worked great. It's close to the main part of town and does not have an ocean view, but the tropical backyard and the birds bathing in the pool made up for the lack of view. :) We highly recommend and would stay here again!

Super convenient property right by Whale Tail. Christine and Tom were awesome and the house is lovely, easy to access and fantastic pool. I would have preferred a house with a view of the ocean and up higher in the hills after visiting. However I didn’t realize that before we came. The property is very private and the gardens are lovely. We were there for a week and went to the Whale Tail beach once - much better beaches and other things to see and we drove so being this close to the beach wasn’t necessary. Tom and Christine were amazing and handled everything like pros from the time of booking until check out. Thank you.

We had so much fun in Uvita. Tom and Christine were very helpful and easy to communicate with before and during our stay at Casa Uvita. They helped set us up with the right people who knew the local area and we had an amazing time exploring different sights and activities during our time in Uvita. The house was beautiful and after each day of being at the beach or on the water it was sooooo refreshing to be able to come home and go for a swim in the pool.

Amazing house, amazing property management, amazing location, Pura Vida! Christine and Tom (the property managers) provided excellent open communication from point of booking in March 2020 to when we were able to make it down. They were attentive to every detail including ensuring that all maintenance was addressed promptly - Our party included 4 adults and 2 children (age 4 months and 5 years) All enjoyed the home and felt immediately at ease post check in. Days were spent relaxing by the pool with a BBQ, walking down the road to the beach/whales tale, and doing yoga at Yoga Maya (literally 60 seconds down the road walking) You are also moments away from a plethora of grocery stores, markets, and restaurants. Not to mention the seemingly unlimited expanses of beaches, waterfalls and rainforest that the South Pacific has to offer. The house itself is beautiful - vaulted ceilings with huge functional windows and stone accents - lots of airflow (we hardly needed air conditioning at all) 3 sleeping areas with a fantastic kitchen stocked with basics and a good selection of chefs tools - covered outdoor patio and lagoon like pool area - also included were an outdoor shower, and well landscaped property with loads of native foliage. It's all about the little details when renting houses abroad and they were certainly not spared on our stay. Fresh cut flowers, immaculately cleaned home, fluffy 5 star quality towels and very comfortable beds with no shortage of good quality pillows and extra linens - the pool was well maintained and clean and some basic toiletries provided. If I could give the experience 10 stars I would - and to reiterate - Christine and Tom were beyond helpful every step of the way with directions, restaurant and shopping recommendations and general advice, you don't always get such professional people to deal with and when you do its a joy. Casita Uvita is a gem amongst the competitive rental market in Costa Rica - you definitely won't regret booking :)

House was great, Tom was on point and a wealth of information. House had Plenty of living space for 4 grown men to relax after surfing and adventuring all day. The garden around the house and pool was quite a treat as well. The house was very secure, we felt very safe sleeping and leaving all of our stuff there. Will definitely be back again.

Our visit to Casita Uvita was phenomenal. This beautiful house is located just a 7 minute walk to the beach at the Marino Ballena National Park. It is also walking distance to several restaurants and a cool farmer’s market that happens on Wednesdays. The house itself is gorgeous with a great, well-equipped kitchen. An amazing tropical park-like garden surrounds it. The house has an outdoor shower and a big covered patio that looks out onto the pool. We could watch the arboreal iguanas, scarlet macaws along with many other birds from the patio. We even saw a group of white-faced monkeys come through the trees one day. The house is also close to grocery stores, the Uvita waterfall, surfing, diving, snorkeling, boating, kayaking, waterfall repelling, We tried them all except diving. A big shout out to Carlos at Bahia Ballena Kayaks. Tom and Christine the property managers were awesome to deal with.

Beautiful property and great kitchen. Make sure that all sleeping areas have air condition prior to booking. The loft did not at the time we stayed there and although the management tried to address the heat, it was an issue. There are plans to install another air conditioner. Also we had repair men at the house frequently. Washing machine had issues and did not work reliably. Tom and Christine - property managers- are great to communicate with and are really helpful. The house has security but no safe. Great birding house and location next to park. There is no area inside the house to congregate at beside the bar in the kitchen, and the porch is not enclosed. Insects are an issue sitting outside. So be prepared. Overall the house is well stocked kitchen wise. It is pricey in comparison to other houses in the area but there are trade offs to staying elsewhere.

We just got back from a fabulous vacation at Casita Uvita. It's everything as described and more! For us the pool was definitely the highlight though the short trip to the beach was a close second. My son was really keen to try surfing and we found a place just down the road. Shout out to Uvita 360 - they were awesome! I tend to ask a LOT of questions and I always received a quick and helpful response! Thanks Tom and Ann Marie for your amazing help - couldn't have done it without you! I highly recommend this lovely villa - you won't be disappointed!!

Six of us stayed in this home for 5 days, it's so convenient to everything you'd want to do: the beach, the national park, nice restaurants, horse back riding, snorkeling....we did everything and still have a lot of time enjoying the pool, the kids were crazy about the nature and all the birds they saw. I thought one bathroom would be a little inconvenient, but the outdoor shower and washroom made it super easy, the kids would fight who got to shower outdoors. Driving: You do need a 4-wheel drive car if you'd like to explore, we went to a few very nice restaurants and they were all high up on the top of the mountains, the drive was not easy but the view was more than worth it. Bugs: we had no issue with them, I was prepared with all the sprays, but at this season mosquitos were moderate to none, at least they didn't bother us. Love our experience here and a few friends already asked me about this home:))

There was tons to do in and near Uvita. Very friendly people in a gorgeous and safe locale. Jaguar Property Management is an extremely professional and dependable company whose owners, Tom and Christine, personally ensure your comfort. We enjoyed a month in paradise!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casita Uvita. The pool was lovely and refreshing, and the house is architecturally beautiful, and the tropical garden surrounding it is very pretty and interesting to walk through. The patio was set up perfectly for relaxing and hanging outside. There were Macaws in the trees surrounding the house that we were able to watch. We really appreciated having a washer and drier on the premises. The outdoor shower was great too. The only drawback was that the loft was quite hot. It would be nice to have a sitting area inside the house as well, when it sometimes rained out or was buggy.

We absolutely loved the location of this house! Uvita is a great little town and a short walk to the beach. There are many beautiful beaches within 15 minutes. We liked that the house had an alarm, as well as a locked gate - both made us feel very safe. Having the pool was great too - we spent many hours in the pool. Two things that we didn't love was the air conditioning and the lounge seats. There is no air conditioning unit in the loft area, so it was very hot up there for the kids to sleep in. The air conditioning in the master bedroom would also shut off after a few hours, so it got uncomfortable at night. The main seating was 4 lounge chairs, one of which was missing a cushion. We didn't think this was a big deal at first, but after several days, it became uncomfortable to hang out there. We felt that since this is the main living/hang out place in the house, there needs to be more comfortable seating, and enough seating for everyone. The only other chairs were plastic fold out chairs. Overall, we liked the house. With these few tweaks, you could stay here for weeks!

Thank you we had a wonderful time away. Costa Rica is filled with Adventure around every corner. Our stay was relaxing and we felt we had everything we needed at our finger tips. The garden and flowers which surround the home are incredible and very calming. The pool was always warm which meant the kids were in and out constantly. Thank you for a wonderful location to spend our time away.

In a word, this house/location is AMAZING! We arrived hoping for a tropical experience of hot sun, birds, monkeys and the beach and this place delivered. From the toucans, kiskadees, orioles, humming birds, macaws, etc (the list is too long for this review) every day; to the troupe of monkeys jumping from tree to tree one afternoon while drinking an ice-cold Imperial beer, to the dozens of iguanas, sunning in the trees surrounding the house keeping an eye on us while we floated in the pool. The house was perfect for three couples. There was enough space for each of us and the outdoor living space was a wonderful way to enjoy your coffee/tea in the morning. Tom and Christine were spot on for our arrival and the house was in tip-top shape: clean and welcoming. And having the private pool was so wonderful every morning and evening to cool off. Uvita is a great little town that is so conveniently located to a number of national parks - you have to go to at least one of them. And it was wonderful to be so close to the beach. Over all I cannot say enough about this house , its location, the community and Costa Rica in general. We cannot wait to come back.

We really enjoyed staying at Casa Uvita. There is no TV but that was fine with us. We woke up early every morning enjoying the great CR coffee while watching the wildlife for about 2 hours before starting our day. Location is great and a short distance to Dominical, Uvita, and Ojochal. We made breakfast every morning and explored the area every day. Be sure to pick up extra paper towels and toilet paper in Uvita. Most everything else you need is provided. This is a very nicely maintained and clean home. The washer and dryer are a plus. The washer is a newer model and works very well. The dryer is older but works well with the exception of the lint trap to the outside which had collected some lint. My husband used some wire to fish it out and we found the dryer worked much more efficiently after that. All in all it Is a great place to stay. We were sad to leave. Casa Uvita was a special home away from home. With a well-stocked kitchen and outdoor dining room, a pool, air-conditioned rooms, a laundry facility, wifi and a second shower and bathroom located outdoors, our two families were able to enjoy Uvita and its surrounding region. The only thing I would suggest is to bring basic spices like salt, pepper and cooking oil before you arrive if you plan to cook. We saw toucans and macaws in the trees as well as a couple of grey-necked woodrails that visited the pool every morning. Having access to a bird book to identify the birds in our photos was helpful. Even a cow visited near the property every now and then. You can tell the garden is beautiful and lush with many plants and flowers. However due to the dry season, the lack of rain dried out some of the plants. The beach and some nearby sodas and restaurants are accessible within walking distance. A vehicle is recommended if you need to access the groceries or do side trips. Marina Ballena is a beautiful beach worth visiting for the day but check the tide tables first if you wish to see the Whale’s Tail. We visited the Uvita Waterfall which has a natural waterslide for the adventure seeker and the Ventanas Beach which has great waves for young kids. You need to time the tides to be able to enter the caves. We also had a delicious birthday meal with nice ambience at Exotica in Ojochal. Rather than taking the 2 hour boat ride from Uvita to Cano Island, we drove to Sierpe (50 minutes away) where we took a boat tour through the mangroves to the island. We saw sloths, a toucan and monkeys but unfortunately no crocodiles. The highlight of that trip was when we saw a beautiful whale shark and snorkelled with it. Very grateful to Tom and Anne Marie for accommodating our schedules and helping us get to the house.
