What a beautiful view from this wonderful house. It was everything described and more. The location was right on Ocean Beach and within walking distance to a variety of stores and restaurants. Everyday was a new experience with the local atmosphere. Unfortunately the pier was closed, but nevertheless couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thank you Susan for telling us your story and all the great suggested activities and restaurants. Got lots and lots of pictures of the beautiful sunsets!

We absoultely loved Susan beach house. It was super cozy and made us feel at home. No issues, except we had to leave. It was so great waking up on the beach each morning. Everything is very walkable.

I have stayed in about 8 different locations in OB over the years and you can't beat this for overall location for both beach access combined with easy walk to Newport Ave and even closer for my coffee and breakfast stop most mornings to Newbreak Cafe. Going to the beach with ease when you felt like going out was great, especially on a crowded day when not much room to setup. The kitchen and dining is great with more than you need and staring out at the ocean as you eat or drink your coffee each morning.

Our party was 3 adults and 2 kids (ages 5 and 7). We visited during the summer and had a great time staying at this property. It truly is steps away from the beach and it was wonderful to be able to bring my kids to the surf every evening.
There are only 2 I'd warn future guests about:
* The WiFi was inconsistent; sometimes it worked great, other times it scarcely worked at all.
* The house relies on fans for cooling. We slept comfortably most nights (the San Diego climate is wonderful) but it does require preparation. The owner provides instructions for this.
It really is a lovely home and the owner clearly has spent a lot of time adding her own artistic touches. I am grateful that we were able to spend time there.

Can’t beat the location for walkability to the beach or shops/restaurants. 15 min from the zoo. Perfect place to bring the family for a San Diego trip.

The house was lovely with plenty of room. It was well stocked to cook meals in and all appliances worked very well. Furnitures and beds were comfortable. The view from dining room looking out beach is awesome first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee.

Very well maintained house where you bring along your personal items and everything else you need is provided. The ocean was right outside and we were able to walk to all the restaurants and shops. Communication with the owner was excellent and the locals were very friendly and offered tips on places to eat. Ocean Beach really is an old school, low stress friendly beach community. LOVED our stay and would highly recommend this house.

We had a wonderful stay! I met my son & his family from Seattle. They were looking forward to some warmer sunny weather, and thou we had cool cloudy conditions, we had a great time on the beach! The cottage is a small park away from the beach, and within walking distance to wonderful restaurants. I was drawn to the cottage by the owner’s amazing mosaics. The place was very clean, beds comfortable, nice linens. And we enjoyed the lovely & private outdoor patio. We look forward to returning!!

Our stay was amazing and Susan made certain that from start to finish that we had everything we needed and were informed on what to expect. The photos are accurate with the exception of the views. Nothing can do the sunsets, watching the waves, the surfers, and beautiful white sails of sailboats justice.
The house was stocked extremely well right down to extra ice in the freezer and beach gear for our use. The garden courtyard was a bonus place to enjoy while not watching the view from the window or to sit a bit after being at the beach.
Our adult kids loved walking for coffee in the morning and actually being greeted by name later in our stay. Speaks to the friendly nature of people in Ocean Beach. We could walk to restaurants and downtown and major attractions were at the most a 15 minute ride.
It was no more than 25 minutes to tour LaJolla and explore the views from the peaks of Mt Helix and the Veterans Memorial.
Susan has a special place she shares and we were so grateful to have been her guests.

This property was perfect for our family’s Thanksgiving vacation! We had five adults and an almost-three-year-old toddler, and we couldn’t have booked a better place to stay.
The property is steps away from the beach and within walking distance to anything that we needed, including lots of restaurants, a grocery store, and a Target.
We arrived on Wednesday, just in time for the Farmers Market, where we not only picked up dinner for the night but also a quiche for breakfast the next day. “Farmers Market” really doesn’t do the market the proper amount of respect. The food options were above and beyond anything that you would see at a typical farmers market.
The property, itself, is spacious, and I really appreciated the size of the kitchen. Everyone had comfortably-sized bedrooms, and the pack-and-play worked very well for our grandson.
The mosaic work inside and outside is beautiful, and the view from the dining area is amazing.
I will echo the thoughts of others in saying that the largest drawback is that the parking is limited to one car, and parking in close proximity is not plentiful - even in the off-season.
Overall, we would definitely come back! Shoot, if this were my property, I would never leave.

The property is well appointed with all the necessary kitchen supplies, towels…. Fantastic location and view of the OB beach and pier. Would give an overall 5 star if the beds were all comfortable. The smaller room mattress needs to be changed (sagging in the middle). My wife and I could not get a good night of sleep on that bed. One of us ended up on the couch for two nights.

This is a very nice property that accommodated 5 of us comfortably. It has a nice rear patio space and a beautiful view of green space, the beach and Pacific Ocean. Checkin and checkout were seamless. There are several local restaurants and retail stores nearby so getting good food, coffee and souvenirs was easy. Our only complaints were that the windows hadn’t been cleaned recently, affecting views toward the ocean, and the house is in the flight path of the San Diego airport.

If you’re looking for a nice home to stay in for your San Diego vacation, look no further! This home is right off the ocean! Great views of surfers from the dining room table. There are tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance. There are chairs outside you can use to sit on at the beach. The home has everything you need to cook meals. The rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. The master shower is huge and very beautiful. The washer and dryer were very nice to have so we didn’t go home with dirty laundry. I have nothing bad to say about staying here. It was better than we expected. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this vacation home to any of my family or friends. The owner, Susan was very quick with her responses. We plan to come back and stay here again next year.

Susan and I conversed over the week before the hurricane hit San Diego. She was very informative and great with communication.
The place itself if perfect if you want the beach and quick access to all the restaurants and stores that Ocean Beach has to offer.
The location itself was extremely well stocked. This included extra toilet paper, something most vacation rentals don't stock well.

The location was great. It was walking distance to the beach. Our first night we walked to the farmer's market, which was great. It was perfect to celebrate my son and mother's birthdays from.

Can not beat the location, the house and backyard is wonderful. Our host Susan was very informative and easy to get a hold of. We just wish that they're would have been 2 parking spots, but overall absolutely wonderful we will book this location again. Thank you Susan!

Our stay overall was great. It was a great location and close to so many restaurants and shops. The house itself is clean, but the furniture was very uncomfortable. The master bedroom’s bed was comfy, but the beds in the two other rooms were not. The couches also we not very comfortable to sit on as well and there are two couches. It does not have air conditioning, which ultimately wouldn’t have been a big deal either because with the windows open it will cool down. However, there was a lot of noise at night in the alley with people walking back and forth to the beach (It was a holiday weekend, so maybe it’s not normally that loud). Overall, if you are looking for a place right on the beach, walking distance to many places, I’d recommend. If comfort is a top priority, I wouldn’t recommend.

We enjoyed our 4 night family vacation here. Nice central location and beach access is at your feet! The house had nearly everything we needed. Only thing I would suggest is a new bbq and beach gear. No beach chairs were found, and all provided beach gear appeared old/rusted, so I purchased a chair and left at the house for future guests.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay! Thank you for sharing your home!

We really enjoyed our time at Susan’s place. It’s a lovely home and appreciated all the artwork. The view from the kitchen is fantastic, watching the surfers every morning with coffee was great. It’s in a beautiful location, easy walking distance to many cool places, shopping, food, etc.

This house has beautiful views and is in the perfect location! Susan was very accommodating and easy to get a hold of. I love that there was a bed for my young toddler and watching the surfers...and dolphins...from the window was wonderful!! We had a great time!

We absolutely loved this location and size of the house. It was very well kept and had all the essentials for my family. The kids loved having beach toys to play with and we all enjoyed being able to look outside at the beach as we ate our meals. We certainly hope to stay here again.

Location is wonderful! Views were breath taking! Susan was wonderful to work with! I couldnt find all the parts for the baby bed. I reached out to her and she told me exactly where to look. We had a great time. There was only one thing that was a little bummer! We have a 3 yr. old and 1 yr. old. We didn't run the larger fans, with worry they would put their fingers in or get hurt. It was a little warm. I didn't reach out or ask Susan but I'm sure she would have helped us! She was very nice and awesome to deal with! Had a great time! Thank you Susan!

Wonderful home and location
Six of us stayed here, and it was plenty spacious for all of us. The kitchen is very nice and had everything we needed. The custom mosaic tile work in the home is beautiful. The home is steps from the beach and easy walking distance to the pier, shops and restaurants. The view from the dining area is spectacular! A great place to start the day with coffee, and end the day with the sunset!

Steps from the beach which made it very easy to go back and forth and close to restaurants and shops The house was very week stocked with more than normal toiletries and pantry staples. Was not expecting that. Everything was perfect!
