Nice, private beach. Good for sunning and fishing

My husband and I both really enjoyed our stay. So quiet and peaceful. Our furbabies loved walking and playing on the beach. Clean and cozy. Bed very comfortable. So many windows with the view of the bay. Very pleased.💙

What a beautiful property! We spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the sunrises, the dolphins swimming by, the tanker lights at night, sunsets, waljung on the beach. On a dead end road, there wasn't a lot of traffic, which was great. We aren't into the boardwalk or nightlife, so this was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning next year!

I wanted a beach trip but didn't want to travel 8 hours to do it. I was pleasantly surprised that Slaughter Beach was part of a wildlife refuge. Im a huge birder as a hobby. The view was exactly what I was looking for. We didnt have the greatest weather but did get stunning sunrises. Not being able to swim was a bit disappointing. The water was brackish looking and at low tide we could see that there were lots of rocks. We still enjoyed walking up and down the beach though and took full advantage of the porch. Milton was a great town and we enjoyed great food at Irish Eyes and Doughbar. We also got to attend music in the park. We ventured to Lewes and learned of the history there. If I had to offer up any recommendations it would be to change up the furniture. While it was functional it was definitely not comfortable. The bed however was perfect. The toilets were also really low. Not accommodating for people with knee problems. The place was very clean and stocked with all paper products. We hope to stay again in the future.

Everything you need for a quit getaway! Loved the beach front property to enjoy the sight & sounds of the bay! So many windows to let in the light. Comfortable and clean. We hope to come back again soon!

Our second time staying on the property (we stayed in the back apartment previously), and we had a wonderful time. The unit was spacious and nicely furnished, and the views were incredible. We enjoyed coffee every morning on the balcony and loved watching the sun rise and set. Great space for our two children and two dogs!

The pictures online don't reflect the actual condition of the property. I could spend quite awhile reviewing each of the many problems, but frankly don't want to waste my time, in addition to my money.

This is our second time staying at this property and it was fantastic. The house is clean and well stocked. Walking distance to the beach and there are very few people around. Close enough to drive to other beaches, but far enough away for a relaxing experience. The property managers are great and I never had to wait for a response from the,.

The location and home was lovely. If you enjoy a peaceful setting, this is perfect. It is on the DE bay so not for swimming but great for dog walks on the beach. There are minimal amenities provided. Just an FYI.

Our family stayed at the upper apt with the gorgeous view. It was the perfect size for our family of 4 and our dog. We especially enjoyed the private beach! *JUST A HEADS UP: on the last day of our stay the biting flies on the beach were awful. We used regular Off bug spray, burned "punks" and it didn't even faze them. We had to leave the beach right away. Please research what sprays work best to repell them and use that.* Besides the flies, we had such a wonderful stay at this rental! The beach views from the master bedroom and balcony were absolutely perfect!😍

I love Slaughter Beach and this is a great property for being able to stay at the beach with your furbabies. I've brought my dogs with me for both stays and it's great for them. The view is great from the 2nd floor apartment. The only issue we had was that it could have been cleaner (which was not an issue the first time I stayed last year). I would definitely return to stay though. Check-in and communication were seamless and prompt with the property manager.

The cottage was very nice, great view of beach and bay. The other units were not occupied this time of year, so extra peaceful. It was my dog's first beach experience; lots for her to explore along the wrack. Great breezes and waves, lots of windows. Full kitchen, except pan lids and corkscrew! Near prime hook and other refuges.

This was the perfect location for us, as we are still trying to be covid safe and stay away from crowds. The house is cute and right on the bay. I want to consider staying again, because everything was perfect EXCEPT cleanliness. We are not a picky family when it comes to staying in vacation rental properties, but I am bringing my own vacuum next time. The cleaning company/person you use does a terrible job. I think all they do is run a vacuum across the rugs. There is dust everywhere. This is listed as a pet friendly property, so I came with the expectation of some pet reminents. But this was unacceptable. There was doghair everywhere, and dry dog food still on the floor. I used a house blanket the second night I was there, and had such a severe allergic reaction to the pet dander still clearly on the blanket. I do not have a pet, but I felt like I was living with a dog in the unclean house. There are pet stains on the rugs and furniture. Every corner has dust built up. If this is advertised as a pet friendly house, it needs to be FINE CLEANED after every guest. I did my own cleaning the second night there and did a better job than the cleaning company. After reading other reviews before booking my stay, I was prepared for it to be somewhat dirty, but the pet residue was unacceptable. The house also smelled like dog. I would strongly suggest using a legitimate cleaning company rather than cleaner "Bonnie." I hate to sound so negative, because I will be booking for the future in hopes that the house will be cleaner. This is a great location for the price.

This location has beautiful views! Watching dolphins play while eating breakfast was fantastic. There could have been better communication and follow up for check in though. Bonnie was great.

We had a great long week-end get-away at this Slaughter Beach property. It worked great for our dog and he enjoyed (sorta) many long walks on the beach. Our stay was short, so we only shore fished one day and didn't catch anything, but it was fun none-the-less! Quiet and secluded with easy travel to the "hot spots, (Lewes, Rehoboth, OC, etc.)" this property more than met our needs. It was clean and inviting. Property manager very responsive and easy to contact. While we didn't do much cooking, the kitchen is very well stocked with utensils/plates/pots and pans and you could easily cook for a family. The two bedroom with separate baths is a real plus. We had a couple visit for one night and it worked great! Will definitely stay here again. It is Slaughter Beach on Bay so beach conditions vary. Always bring insect repellent (there was one day flys were pretty bad)! Highly recommend!

The property location is nice but the house is old and has issues with cleanliness. When all 3 units (A, B & C) are rented, parking and beach facilities are insufficient. Overall Slaughter Beach is a quiet community that is dog-friendly and close to a beautiful nature preserve.

I expected the place to be dirty according to reviews but there was a water issue. The water smelled like sulfur. The management company was closed over the weekend and the 4th of July. So did we didn’t get a response until Tuesday evening. We ran the water like they said and it seemed to help but smelled the following day. I had to use ear plugs in my nose to get through a shower. The place was dusty and the fans were filthy. The refrigerator was dirty and had sand in it. There was food on the kitchen chairs. The furniture was old, uncomfortable with filthy pillows on the sofa. On the good side being on the water was nice. We were able to enjoy the beach a couple of days. The flies were a lot and couldn’t spend time on the bay a few days. We ended the trip early rather than deal with the water issue. I feel if the place was cleaned or inspected before we arrived, the water issue would have been addressed. They didn’t because the smell was there and there was a water bottle under the bed they didn’t remove. Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to recommend this place with the old, uncomfortable furniture, water issues, and not being clean.

We (and our dog) enjoyed our stay. Nice quiet neighborhood, but close enough to Rehoboth to have a little boardwalk excitement when we wanted some.

The property is located right on the beach and the view is fabulous. The apartment needs some refurbishment and the apartment has been poorly cleaned before our arrival. That said a great place to relax !

Perfect views of beach all day.

I don't think the cleaning people vacuumed because there were handfuls for dog fur and sand on the floor. And it is an apartment so you definitely her the dog barking and kids yelling downstairs. But the water was warm and calm. At low tide you can find snails and crabs. You have the whole beach to yourself. Cute things to do 15-30 minutes away. Lots of parks and nature trails. Very peaceful and relaxing.
