The 8 days spent in your magnificent villa were incredible: the view to die from the balcony, the boardwalk at the foot of the building, the magnificent beach with its natural swimming pool and crystal clear water, the sound of the waves that rocked our nights, the cleanliness of the place, combined with a fully equipped and comfortable villa made this trip a perfection. We hope to return soon and it will certainly be at Angela's place!

The property is as described and the views are wonderful. We saw turtles in the water from above everyday and the waves rolled in against the rocks in a calming and breathtaking manner. The property has a wonderful breeze which keeps you cool with the AC as an evening back up plan. The location on the boardwalk provides a scenic path to many eateries. The only downside of the property, coded locks everywhere and tight parking, is no fault of the property owner/manager, Angela, who is always willing to help, greets you upon arrival and shares suggestions about the island. The building has locks everywhere and uses a key for one, a code for several and a different code for the parking garage. It's not very intuitive but easy to overcome the hassle when on vacation in such a lovely spot! The parking situation is poor due to the narrow width of the building and the tight underground garage design, however, a car is not necessary as several day trips in a taxi would provide a tour of the island. Very nice property with everything one needs to relax and enjoy Barbados.

What an amazing place to stay! Overlooking the Caribbean Ocean and listening to the waves come to shore is so amazing. From the moment we arrived and when Angela came to say good bye we were treated to spectacular service and hospitality. I can’t say enough about this villa. Close to all amenities and dining choices. All within walking distance and especially lovely if you take the boardwalk at the ocean front. We will definitely be back. Thank you Angela !! You made our 35th wedding anniversary incredible.

This villa is immaculately clean with views of the ocean right outside your window. Very close to the boardwalk and various restaurants. Loved this place.

This was my 4th time in Barbados, and by far, one of the best times ever. This was due to the location and accommodation. When travelling, we never stay in hotels. Upon arrival, purchase your drink of choice at the airport as the prices are incredible and duty free. My family and I stayed at South Ocean Villas located in Hastings, Christ Church. Ms. St. John, our host, has a lovely villa. The on-line pictures are exactly how the villa looks. Ms. St John answered all our questions and was very informative. She is very warm and friendly and takes pride in her property. Having access to a washing machine and dryer was a bonus. Why pack dirty clothing when you don't have to? Ms. St. John provides helpful information in a binder and an index of car services. We utilized the services of Mr. Brian. He was punctual, reliable, professional and a true gentlemen. Just call him 20 mins prior to the time that you need his services. The terrace off of the master bedroom and living room provides a spectacular view of the ocean. The villa is conveniently located near the beach, supermarket, (Massey's), restaurants and transportation. I advise that you take public transportation or a car service to Massey's. If you like fine dining, make a reservation at Champers. The telephone number is in the binder. The food and drinks are absolutely divine. Use the car service to get there. Visit the Tiki bar for lunch and an endless list of rum drinks. You can walk there. They are located on the beach. When you walk out of the villa, turn right and start walking. Approximately a 10 min walk. If you plan on going into the water, please ensure that you bring water shoes as this beach is extremely rocky. The best beach is Carlyle Bay. White sandy beach, no rocks, no seaweed. You can rent chairs and umbrellas. There is a vendor that sells fish sandwiches and other Caribbean food. Next to this vendor, you can purchase beverages. If you like to snorkel, we booked the catamaran tour with El Tigre. $100/US. We were not disappointed. Well worth it. Unlimited rum punch/ beverages, scrumptious Caribbean lunch. The staff were very attentive. Helped non swimmers to enjoy the snorkeling experience. They were incredible. The flyer is in the binder. If you abhor loud partying at night, rude, disrespectful neighbors, this is the place for you. I cannot say enough about this villa. Thank you Ms. St. John for a wonderful vacation experience. If you enjoy waves lapping in and really knowing you're staying on the sea, this is the place for you. Angela was responsive to all questions we had and she was proactive in contacting us to give a heads up about a holiday that would effect openings in the grocery stores and shops. Check in and check out were very easy and Angela was very respectful of the space. Besides the great location, there was a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers to welcome us. Live plants gave the villa a homey feel. Transportation to stores, restaurants and beaches was very easy without the need to rent a car. Angela, a native Bajan, is knowledgeable about whatever you need to know about the island.

This property is spacious, comfortable and as pictured. The sunset views and location are perfect and within walking distance of a number of restaurants and bars. We were two couples travelling together and the suite provides lots of space and privacy for 4. Angela was very informative and helpful. We can highly recommend staying here.

We loved our stay in this villa! The views as you walk in are incredible! The villa was well laid out and clean, it had all the amenities you could need and was in a good location with several restaurants and bars along the beach boardwalk in front. The building has its own swimming pool but also right outside is a beautiful beach. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Barbados. The host was wonderful as well and gave us lots of help and information when we arrived. Thanks again for a fantastic holiday!

Our experience exceeded our expectations and our home for 9 days enhanced our stay. The condo is beautiful! It is properly maintained, appropriately furnished and decorated to compliment the beautiful exterior and beach views. The location is perfect for newcomers and conveniently located around restaurants, and groceries. Angela is a wonderful host. She is accommodating, warm and has a welcoming vibe. She is readily available for questions and her responsiveness is prompt and informative. We felt safe in the area. We had a wonderful experience..I suggest interested guests read as many reviews as possible. You will get accurate insight to the area and this location. The reviews assisted me in selecting this condo. I vouch the reviews are accurate.

The property is ideally situated on the boardwalk,very secure and well equipped. Great beds and super fluffy towels. Angela is a thoughtful host and communicates extremely well. A short walk to several restaurants varying from casual beachside to fine dining . If you don’t like the sound of waves , don’t go. If you do, then don’t hesitate

We loved Angela's place. It is super close to great restaurants, bars, attractions, and beaches. Angela is an amazing host. She is responsive and thoughtful and made sure all went well for us. Highly recommended.

We stayed at one of the local resorts the first night of our arrival from the U.S. because of quarantine requirements, and man were we glad that we didn't book that resort for the whole trip. This villa was a million times better! It was hard to ever shut the patio door because the views and the sound of the ocean were breathtaking. This was the PERFECT place for us to stay on our honeymoon. Everything was so close on the boardwalk right outside the back doors. We enjoyed going to Oistin's for fish (go to Uncle George's!) so much that we went back 3 times in the 8 days we were there. Cool Runnings catamaran was a fantastic experience. Beginner surfing lessons with Ride the Tide surf school was awesome. Carlisle Bay is a short ZR bus ride and was the most amazing beach for swimming--no rocks or seaweed and perfectly clear water. Don't pay more than $5BBD per beach chair and umbrella rental! There are helpful folks that will offer to set you up in the chairs when you arrive. Glory Tours brought us to see parts of the island that we never would have seen otherwise, so that should also be on everyone's list. Mount Gay Rum tour and lunch was well worth it. Breakfast and coffee at Art Splash within walking distance of the apartment, good food and coffee and it was open every day. Happy hour and live music at Blakey's and Chill, also both in walking distance. Chill also has unassumingly-great casual food like wraps and chicken tenders. 4-for-$10 beers! Nicer dinners at Tapas and Champers. Tapas is within walking distance and right on the boardwalk, so you can't beat the view. Champers is on a cliff and nicer for dinner with a view, within a short ZR ride. Speaking of "ZR's" for the second time, don't be afraid to jump on one as the preferred local option for travel. Taxi's are everywhere too, but more expensive. Start walking on the street in the direction you want to go, and when you see a white van with license plate starting with "ZR", hop on and they will take you anywhere in that direction for $3.50BBD. We truly don't have one bad thing to say, and will never forget how great our honeymoon in Barbados was. I've never had a host be more responsive and helpful than Angela, from the time we inquired about booking to the time we had to leave. After being on the island for a week, I didn't see any other places on the boardwalk that I would have rather stayed at. Thank you Angela!!

Beautiful area of Barbados which is perfect to stay in. We took a tour of the whole island and this is where you want to be. And this villa at south ocean villas is perfect. Well equipped and comfortable and what a view! Nice common area with plenty of chairs and a small pool to cool off in and located on a boardwalk that begins in this area and ends at the most beautiful beach ever-Accra/Rockley beach. At the villa there is a small lovely little beach we would also go to swim. Along the boardwalk are a number of good places to get a drink and some snacks/ dinner. Mini mart and wine shop a short walk down the boardwalk. Grabbed a bus right outside the door to go to larger market 5 min down the road with free shuttle return after shopping. Easy to get around on busses/vans. Took a walking tour in Barbados and a full island day tour and both were good ways to learn about Barbados. Angela was quick to respond before and during our trip and provided much good information for us. We can’t wait to return again and stay here in this wonderful space.

South Ocean Sands Villa 401 offers the most beautiful setting for our Barbados vacation! Waking to the sound of the waves and overlooking the turquoise water was a most welcome start to each day. The sunsets were equally beautiful! An added bonus is the immediate access to the boardwalk giving us easy walks to restaurants, beach bars, the iMart store and Accra beach. Unit 401 was very comfortable with all the amenities required for our stay. Thanks to Angela for providing timely responses before and during our stay! We now have a new 'favourite' destination!

Who can beat being by the ocean in a wonderful apartment. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful time, very nice ocean front villa

We had such a nice time at Angela's property. For more than two weeks, we enjoyed falling asleep and waking up to the sound of crashing waves right outside our two balconies, making coffee in the mornings, going for morning swims and boardwalk strolls, and admiring the beautiful Barbadian sunsets. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen supplies ample, and plenty of towels provided for bathing and swimming. As far as things to do, we especially enjoyed 5:00 happy hours at Blakey's, and were even lucky enough to see a sea turtle laying eggs, alongside a rescue crew there to document and hide the eggs to keep them safe. Salt Cafe was the best food we had on the island—an easy walk from the villa. Tapas was nice, too—especially the tempura banana dessert... I will dream about it! The villa was incredibly easy to find, and we loved staying in Hastings—a quiet, gorgeous, not overly touristy part of the island. All ZRs (small local vans) were $3.50 BBD per person to go along the south coast, which was a speedy and fun way to get to Oistin's Fish Fry, Bridgetown, etc. Thanks to Angela for the great stay! Highly recommend to anyone considering staying here.

The property is exactly as pictured and the ocean views are absolutely amazing. Beautifully decorated, spacious, and all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Angela was always timely with her communication and provided great information as needed. We were looking to have a quiet and serene vacation and the property provided us with exactly what we wanted. The boardwalk is steps away from the unit and provided for an opportunity to walk and exercise daily. On our return to Barbados, we will certainly make a request for this property again. Spent an amazing 10 days at the villa. It has everything you need and in a beautiful location. Very clean and very comfortable Angela was brilliant, extremely helpful and even arranged our private catamaran cruise for us and provided me with details of a jeweller to get a prior Barbados purchase repaired. Angela was always very quick to respond to any queries. I would recommend for families as well as just friends. I would definitely return.

My husband and I and another couple rented out this 2 bedroom villa/apartment for 7 nights and just got back a couple of days ago. All of us absolutely loved our stay and are planning on travelling back and renting out this place again. Angela was beyond accommodating and really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed while in Barbados. The apartment was in perfect condition, both bedrooms and both bathrooms were decorated nicely and were super clean and comfortable. We loved the living space and being able to open the double doors and have the ocean breeze fill the living room in the evenings. The apartment is located right on the one end of the boardwalk that goes up to Rockley Beach and was so convenient to go for walks and runs in the morning. The location of this apartment cannot be beat. It is situated super close (less than a 4-5 minute walk) to several great dining spots (Art Cafe for breakfast/coffee, Tapas/Naru for ocean side dinners) and the local iMart and wine store for stocking up the kitchen. It is only a 7-10 minute drive up to the gorgeous Carlisle Bay and typically took only 25 minutes to get to Holetown. We are so happy to have been able to stay at this rental - it really made our trip perfect!

My wife and I vacation in Barbados every year. Over the years we have stayed in a few different accommodations, this was our 5th year at South Ocean Villas. Hands down we have been the most satisfied here, the condo is great and we feel still quite reasonable. Angela is great to deal with and very accommodating. Already booked for next year and can’t wait.

Great location! The pictures are very accurate. Boardwalk and beach right out the back door. Can easily walk to restaurants and a mini mart. Taxis and buses outside the front door. Very easy to get where you want to go. Beautiful view from the balcony; saw turtles swimming in the ocean from the balcony. Lots of swimmable beach area right outside. We really had a wonderful time!

Pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this villa. It is in the perfect location, well maintained and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the beachfront balcony where we would relax at night with a glass of rum punch or early morning coffee. Angela St. John is a charming host and makes sure that every detail is covered. We stayed for 6 nights following our stay at the Hilton. We enjoyed the Hilton but preferred the Villa because of the space, conveniences and ability to walk to the Farmer’s Market or along the boardwalk to restaurants on the beach. We hope to return for a much longer stay.
