We spent a wonderful 11 days at Casa La Kasbah. The house is in a perfect location in La Cruz - a short 2 block walk to the middle of town, and about the same to the amazing fish market. Great little restaurants only a short walk away. We were often entertained right in the back yard with a variety of music from places in the neighbourhood - none of which went past about 9:00. The house is also remarkably sound proof even though it is right on the street!! The other highlight was the pool. SO lovely!!! The fact it was heated made it easy to get into at any point during the day or evening.
Communication with Rick was great - and the property manager Julieta was wonderful. Quick to respond and very helpful.
Was great having the 3 bedrooms. The TV area was nice although we never actually sat there!! It was so lovely in the garden that we spent our evenings out there.
The Iguanas were so entertaining! We learned a lot about them - who knew Iguanas jumped out of palm trees!!! Well - they do! They were very respectful - they love the waterfall!
We would come back in a heartbeat. Loved the house and the town!!!

Holiday getaway for adult children and parents to gather. Comfortable with lots of amenities. Cooking, food storage and water dispenser were great! Pool was a great temperature and the iguanas in the backyard kept us entertained!
Close to the beach, great restaurants, corner stores and bus stops to get to Puerto Vallarta and Bucerias. Lots of walking exploration to do near by. (Along the coast to Bucerias and the other way to some secret beaches -watch out for tides though).

This house is within walking distance to many excellent well priced restaurants. The pool is heated to a very relaxing temperature. The owners shared their contact info to be available on What’s App for assistance if we needed. We had no problems while we were there.

We had a great time. It's a lovely place with just about everything you could need in the small fishing village of La Cruz.
Couldn't keep the kids out of the pool, not that we wanted to. We also loved seeing the Iguanas wandering the yard and hanging out in the trees on the property.
We had a few minor hiccups, but Rick and Julieta attended to them very quickly and were quite helpful.
We'd certainly stay here again if we're returning to the area.

My guests and I really enjoyed our stay at Casa Kasbah in La Cruz! The house was as described in the listing and Rick was very responsive to emails and answered all my questions prior to my arrival. He made arrangements for airport transfers, gave me recommendations for local restaurants and services (in house spa, in house chef Elizabeth, who was lovely and a great cook!), and was responsive to any problems or issues that came up. My guests and I spent a lot of time outside in the yard, hanging out by the pool. The pool man and gardener kept the pool and gardens looking great and were very discreet when they would come to do their work, but were very friendly when we wanted to chat with them.
The town of La Cruz is great, but it is rustic and small. I loved it, but guests should be aware of what the town offers, and doesn't offer, before deciding to stay there for any length of time. I was there for a month and did not have a car which worked out fine for me. My guests and I walked the town a lot, mostly going to the beach, and out for dinners and groceries. If I was staying longer, I would likely want access to a vehicle to make trips to other parts of the area. There is no bank in La Cruz but there are 2 ATMs (although I only found 1). English is spoken by some locals, but I spoke Spanish most of the time when I went out shopping or out to eat. It is important to note that I felt safe in La Cruz, even when I would go out alone. Would love to go back!!

We spent a month here and it was amazing!! So peaceful & relaxing. The house was clean, spacious, welcoming with a beautiful yard and a pool that was heavenly! The yard, pool and house are very well taken care of by friendly professionals. The area of La Cruz is a warm friendly piece of older Mexico with everything close at hand. The small restaurants, grocery stores, local establishments are fantastic for buying all your daily needs and meals out. The owner Rick, and property manager Julieta, are quick to respond and help in any way they can. We loved it so much that we booked the house for next year! Looking forward to returning to La Cruz!!

Almost everything felt like weren't clean for a long time.
Even we had to wash all the towels because they were dirty and smelled.

House is beautiful. The back yard with the pool is like a tropical paradise. We enjoyed relaxing around the pool. Neighborhood is quiet. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Perfect place!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home in La Cruz. The house was perfect for us and our two teens. The pool was lovely and well maintained. The house is just a few blocks away from the central plaza in La CruZ and felt very safe. La Cruz is just charming-not too touristy & the residents were very welcoming. We were very sad to leave!

This house is perfect, especially for a family or a few friends. We absolutely loved the pool, it’s deep and warm, and in a beautiful yard. We walked the beach a few times but didn’t even bother going in the ocean because the pool was waiting for us (and some cute iguanas)! House is great and has everything needed plus more. Rick, the owner and Julieta, the property manager were both very responsive and helpful. They answered all our questions so quickly.
La Cruz is a great small village, very friendly people everywhere we went, delicious food at the restaurants and we even found live music and dancing. So fun

We love this place!!
We are a family of four and this was our third time renting this house. Rick has done many upgrades including a heated pool, new concrete around the pool, larger privacy wall in the back yard, a new kitchen and new main bathroom. The house was clean when we arrived and is within walking distance to everything that La Cruz has to offer. We are already planning our stay for next year!

Winter in La Cruz
Spent 30 days living in paradise! I couldn’t have imagined how much I had missed not being in the village until I finally got back as travel opened up to Canadians. This was the perfect house and the pool and yard are beautiful. I’ve stayed in many properties over the last 8 years and this ranks up at the top for sure. It felt like I came home!

Wonderful stay
First of all, the property owner is amazing. He communicated with us almost daily, answering all of our questions and helping with everything we needed (we tested positive and had to get groceries etc.)
The house is wonderful. A nice big comfy couch, 3 bedrooms to spread out in, and most of all, a big backyard with a fantastic pool. A perfect place to relax! Just a couple of blocks to the towns plaza and several good restaurants. And very handy to have a washer and dryer!

Perfect family getaway
We came many times to Puerto Vallarta but this was our first family visit to La Cruz. The house is nicely decorated, spacious and very clean, the beds and living room are comfortable, the kitchen looked brand new. We loved spending time in the heated pool watching iguanas, listening to the birds and drinking margaritas on the inflatables, while kids were playing on the manicured grass.
Two of the bedrooms overlook a large sunny pool surrounded by coconut trees and lush garden, the gardener cut and sliced fresh coconuts for the kids … The third bedroom is larger but doesn’t overlook the pool. There was ample space for all of us to comfortably relax in the living room or by the pool after our days at the beach. Our host was friendly, attentive and responsive at all times. We only used the kitchen for breakfast and had other meals in town, Punta Mita and Sayuleta, there are also plenty of quality restaurants in the village, about 2 minute-walk. Our housekeeper did a great job making beds and cleaning. A very cozy and comfortable home with nice water features - hot tub with jets, outdoor oriental fountain and natural stone waterfall - that we enjoyed a lot. We loved our stay and we’ll surely come back.

An oasis hidden from view
Clean, quiet, and plenty of room. Really nice size heated pool and palm trees in back, replete with colorful green iguanas and a wide range of birds. Roomey, but not fancy on the inside but very authentic Mexican. The outside excels!
Regis went out of his way to ensure our stay was better than expected - from an easy reservation, contactless check-in, very informative property and area location details, no-hassle departure. The house is well equipped.

BEWARE!!!!!! AVOID THIS PLACE! DIRTY & FALLING APART
This place is just disgusting. Dirty bed sheets with dirt and pubic hair, dirty bathrooms with more pubic hair, master bathroom didn't have a working faucet. The jets in the tub are rusted. Layers of dirt on shelves, and ceiling fans, light fixtures have dead bugs that probably have never been cleaned in yrs. Our VRBO checkin was at 3pm but were not handed over the place til 3:45. AC's did work had to have repair ppl over who left dirt everywhere. Their power was out all day Saturday because their power box wasn't grounded. Meaning no working AC, fridge, stove or pool. Kitchen cabinets were disgusting. THIS PLACE IS JUST DIRTY. Owner is aware and gaslighted the whole time and failed to refund. (they were provided with pics) We ended changing our flight to get out of this dump. Save your money and go down the street instead to Villa Magnolia. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED OF THIS DUMP!!!!!!!

Peaceful stay in a quiet town
Stayed here while my parents were visiting from out of town. I live in Sayulita which is a bit more lively so it was a beautiful stay in a quiet town. We really enjoyed the pool and bbq grill! The beach nearby was perfect for swimming! There was also a vegan ice cream store in town which we visited everyday!

Oasis in center of town
A great property in a great location in La Cruz. Rick is very good owner who promptly resolved any minor issues we had. His recommendation of Rosario to prepare some meals was most welcome and she did a great job. She also did a nice house clean up for us after completing the cooking and kitchen clean up. We would stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is wonderful. Bright, airy and open. The yard and pool are fantastic for a family and we spent hours out there enjoying it. If you like Mexico the way it used to be with quiet beaches, small towns with good ambience and a property that feels like home this is the place to be. Quiet paradise
Casa La Kasbah was beautiful and comfortable during our two week stay in La Cruz. A true home away from home. Everything from pre-arrival to check out was easy and hassle free. Regis arranged for our airport transfer to La Cruz, which was very helpful. We stayed in regular communication throughout our stay and he made sure anything we needed was taken care of. His team of house manager and care takers were equally responsive and a pleasure to interact with. We spent plenty of time in the pool and enjoying the garden with its plethora of birds, iguanas, and other lovely creatures!
The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. We never lacked for anything.
The town itself provided excellent restaurants and small markets for our grocery needs. The fish market was excellent.
The nearby beaches were hardly populated so we felt like we were on a private beach. Regis also had everything our family needed for fun beach trips from folding chairs, umbrella, and boogie boards!
I have recommended Casa La Kasbah to my relatives and highly recommend it to anyone else considering this location. You will not be disappointed.

Hubo una tormenta unos días antes de nuestra llegada y tiró cables por lo que no tuvimos internet durante nuestra estancia. Claro que eso es cuestión de la compañía externa, no de nuestros anfitriones. Tuvimos que retirarnos un día antes porque necesitaba trabajar con internet. Regis ofreció un reembolso por la noche que ya no estuvimos ahí. Ellos fueron muy amables y atentos todo el tiempo. Descubrimos un restaurante de comida italiana que prácticamente nos tuvo alimentados durante nuestra estancia. El espacio en la casa es suficiente para pasar un buen tiempo ahí. Conducir a diferentes playas es fácil y cómodo.Gracias por todo.

This was our second time staying in La Cruz at this VRBO and it did not disappoint. The back yard if perfect for young families with children. It is located within walking distance to all that La Cruz has to offer including the beach. Rick was very attentive and accommodating! We have recommended this place to all our friends and family. Great location convenient to everything you would want for an enjoyable beach vacation. Owner/manager Rick was exceptionally attentive and helpful. We were in need of a baby bed for our one and a half year old grandson and Rick made sure one was waiting for us. You will enjoy your stay.

Oasis in La Cruz
My partner and I spent 2 weeks at the Kasbah and enjoyed our time there immensely. Located close to the marina and Sunday market , this home is within easy walking distance of most restaurants and the town square but it is the backyard oasis that is the real star. Very well maintained with a nice pool, palm trees and waterfall, it was easy to just kick back and chill in our very private sanctuary. In the house itself the furniture was comfortable but perhaps some in need of an upgrade at some point. Our host Rick was awesome, responding to any concerns quickly , when my wife was ill, he found a clinic for us and even drove us there.We would recommend this property to others and would stay here again...Thanks for everything Rick

Pretty property, Good location
The house was well equipped and had excellent wifi speed. The owner was certainly accessible to us if required. I did make suggestion to him that the cleaning staff needs training in window cleaning and use of good cleaning products. Too bad pool is unheated and has such a large step down...... very difficult for senior to enter but too cold anyway. good lawn furniture for relaxing but keep them away from the lovely coconut palms. One whole branch loaded with 9 coconuts added to our laughter but really would have hurt if they landed on us. The sink in the bathroom really needs replacing Rick. The surface is pitted and ugly.

Best rental for families
We stayed at Casa Kasbah in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle for 9 nights. We have 2 young boys, ages 5 and 2. This place could not have been more perfect for our young family. The location is great-its within walking distance of everything including a beautiful beach, restaurants, market and general stores. The house was larger than it appeared in the website and the backyard was breath taking. The yard itself was very well maintained with lots of mature palm trees for shade. The yard is fully fences and private so we did not have to worry about the kids. There was everything that you needed in the kitchen and the house stayed nice and cool during the days and nights. The yard maintenance crew was very friendly and Rick was very attentive-checking in regularly via text or messenger. We highly recommend this rental for a vacation!! We will definitely be back...hopefully soon :)

Fantastic vacation near La Cruz marina
Beautiful house in a very quiet street that offers the perfect vacation. Great communication and assistance from our host throughout our stay. Very comfortable home and perfect location, a few steps from the beach, village plaza, restaurants, live-music bars, shops, fish market and marina… Pool was exquisite, the garden is manicured and offers coconut trees and some shade in the afternoon, chaise lounges, we could enjoy margaritas by the pool at sunset every day, candle-lit dinners, we had the best time and look forward to coming again soon
