This spot was in the perfect location for our extended family vacation. We have small children who take naps so the ease of walking to/from the beach made for easy transitions throughout the stay. Being able to hang out on the top deck to watch the sunrise over the ocean was priceless. We were disappointed with the general maintenance of the home. Most notably, the living room couches smelled foul so we kept blankets over them throughout our stay. Also, many of the air vents also were pretty moldy, which we only noticed because we had to open most of them up upon arrival.

Pros:-Location to shops, beach with spectacular views from upper deck and top bedrooms facing the ocean-Well stocked kitchen w appliances galore-Well configured bedrooms and baths for extended family's stay - lots of quiet spaces and large gathering spaces for all-Good water pressure throughout house-Plenty of parking for our 6 carsCons:-Very dirty; couches are actually sticky-Screened in room had ripped screens and loose screws/ plastic parts of windows - unsafe for kids and dogs-Most beds were acceptable, but some were sagging and uncomfortable in twin rooms. Bedspreads old/thinOur family had fun and the house treated us well but it needs a major refresh and deep cleaning.

We enjoyed our stay but the house needs some work. Sliding doors wouldn’t open in some of the rooms, walls were dirty and needed some paint, light bulbs burnt out in the bathrooms (but were quickly replaced when we called), the pool table is in terrible condition, and a few other areas they need work. It is on the beach and we were happy to spend time together as a family but I wouldn’t rent this house again. The management company was great and I would rent from them again. Just not this house.

This is a nice, very large, reasonably priced beachfront home. Well stocked kitchen, 2 fridges and 2 kitchen sinks! I'd give the place a B+, could easily be an A+ with a few updates here and there and if the furniture in the patio enclosures were cleaned off before arrival (quite a bit of long standing grime on the plastic).

We would have had close to a 5 star review for all categories for our experience due to awesome location and the size of the home itself to accommodate all of us (9 grandkids) but the cleanliness upon checking in wasn't ideal. Some dirty tissues, paper towels, etc laying around on side tables, dirt in corners of rooms etc. The management company was great and very responsive to ALL requests, cleaning company though...I'd look for another ASAP!

To begin, I recognize that our rental period was very late in the season (October). I also note that the services on OBX have been seriously hampered by the shortage of almost 2,000 workers from abroad due to the pandemic. But I'm being honest here. The Good: The location of the property in Corolla is excellent, great ocean views, generally quiet neighborhood, easy access to shopping and activities. The kitchen was well stocked. The Not So Good: The property is not well maintained. Lots of bulbs out throughout the house, Beach Realty maintenance was called (twice) in order to address an early AC issue. Yes, this is a 30 YO house...but it really shows the wear of constant rental. The cleaning was not great...e.g. hair on the walls of the MRB shower and the yard and grill was a mess. Doesn't anyone check to see if the grill is cleaned before the next renter arrives? We did not use it and refused to clean someone else's mess.

Black mold and bed bugs
The location and the layout of the property are great. But that’s pretty much it. Bugs in the shower, leaky toilets, black mold, air filters that had never been replaced, spills from previous guests that weren’t wiped up, bedbugs to name a few things. I have been out of the house for two weeks and I’m still coughing, my mom was wheezing the whole time, my daughter got a rash and my dad was covered in bug bites. We left early because we couldn’t take the poor air quality any more. I never write bad reviews but felt compelled on this one.

Big house, great location, poor cleaning service prior to arrival, run down house overall. 3rd floor patio doors leaked during rain, lots of make shift fixes in bathrooms, kitchen, General areas. Although the location and views are wonderful, the house itself needs work. There are too many things to list. The biggest issues for us was the grimy kitchen cabinets, oil splatter above the stove, and mold in the loft. We talked to Beach Realty staff in Corolla and brought these issues to and others to their attention. They said they will go to the property and do a thorough check. So, hopefully, the issues will be addressed. During our stay, we did open a ticket about ants, which they resolved in 48 hours.

The layout and location/views are great. The house is in need of updates. Many of the screens were broken so bugs came in. The pool table was missing balls and the rack was broken, therefore we were unable to shoot pool. The decks do not have gates so if you have small children or dogs that can be an issue. The upper deck has worn wood that easily splinters bare feet.

WE were very pleased with this rental and it's location. The property was clean and the views of the upper deck where fabulous during the day. and at night we even got to see a deer and a fox, how cool. The property was ready a little after 4 and that was fine for us. We really enjoyed the pool table and the upstairs extra room for our kids play room and lego building extravaganzas.

Perfect set up for 17 of us to enjoy making memories with our family. Beach was great and the waves were fun! Please consider putting 1 roll of TP in each of the bathrooms to start your stay. After driving 21 hours we didn't want to have to run to the store immediately and that would have helped. Awesome place!

Our overall stay at Summer Camp met all of our expectations. We were particularly pleased that the owners allowed us to stay an extra day at no additional expense; several family members had traveled a great distance to get to the house, so this meant that they did not have to rush to depart. The only thing that I would suggest (and it is minor) is that some Command hooks be added behind bathroom doors to hang clothes/towels on. Also, in the bathroom with the jacuzzi, some type of Rubbermaid stickers could be put on the shower floor as it was quite slippery. Other than that, we were thrilled with how well-stocked the house was and truly enjoyed our stay! Thank you so much!

The folks at Beach Realty were great! The house was ready for us when we arrived a bit early and it was so nice to have all the linens in the bedrooms . The house was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Our most favorite room was the little sitting area on the top floor where we could sit and look at the water in all kinds of weather.

We enjoyed our stay. There were a few things that needed attention: broken bunks, dirty coffee maker, hot tub, light bulbs,etc. These problems were corrected in the first week of our stay except for the hot tub, couldn't get it out of eco mode. The top floor bedroom was like a cave and very musty smelling, which aired out in a day or two. This room needs a window or at least a sky light! Outdoor furniture was uncomfortable, several doors need maintenance.
