Great location couple blocks from the beach, 10 mins from Downtown. Fit our family nicely. Only negative is no Ac, but with the windows open you do get a nice breeze. Would stay again.

We had the most wonderful week at this house, it couldn’t have been more perfect! I stayed with my husband, our ten year old, and my mother, and the house was fantastic. It’s absolutely beautiful, I’m not sure the pictures really do it justice, and the neighborhood was so relaxed and friendly and an easy walk to the beach. I was thrilled with our trip and would love to stay here again!

We absolutely adored our stay! The home was immaculate and so comfortable and close to all the downtown shoppes and eats. Checking in was easy! Make sure you bring your walking shoes so you can explore the beautiful neighborhood.

This cottage was a fantastic place to stay for 3 friends and I. It is in a perfect location, super clean, and Chris could not have been more helpful. We loved learning about the history of the house and spent every night hanging on the back deck. Walking distance to everything in Ocean Beach, we would definitely stay again!

Beautiful house in a great neighborhood
Beautiful, historic home in a lively neighborhood. Houses in the neighborhood are close together, but this property features an unusually large yard and the wrap around deck with patio offers a degree of privacy. Home is flooded with natural light - relaxing and calm environment to return to after a day out. Easy walk to the beach, stores, restaurants. Airport is an easy 8min drive, with downtown neighborhoods easily accessible as well. It's a vibrant and busy community, so do expect the usual accompanying street noise. Out family also lives in an active city neighborhood so we weren't bothered at all. As a host Chris was super friendly and helpful; he met us at check-in and was very accommodating with his flexibility on timing.

Beautiful property., very historic. Parking was challenging but it is close to lots restaurants and the beach. We met Chris (the owner and he was very helpful in getting us set up. One minor issue is (he) need to have blinds in the second bedroom window. Our overall experience was great.

Thanksgiving with our Marine stationed at Miramar
We loved the location because of our ability to walk the neighborhood and beach-- and the proximity of restaurants and breweries. The interstate was also easily accessible so that we could visit other areas of San Diego. The host was friendly and even met us in the middle of the night since our plane was delayed.
We had a wonderful time and loved being able to go back to the house to relax. It is a beautiful cottage!

Gorgeous Home, Complicated Check In
The home is everything it claims and more. Perfect neighborhood, beautiful home, hilarious family of raccoons that frolic in the nighttime yard. We adored it. But the owner somehow was present every single day of our stay, and wanted to take a photo of my credit card and ID, plus asked me to sign extra paperwork, all of which VRBO cautions against. Again, the home is pretty much perfect (except for ZERO window shades) but we had a difficult time communicating with the owner, and we felt watched and hounded the entire stay.

Charming property from one that appreciates mission style, design, art, and gardening. Wish we'd had time just to hangout because deck and grill area was very nice.
Not perfect for elderly due to stone pathway and steep steps to entry.
Recommendation for owner - Needs outdoor lighting, a towel rack in bathroom, a microwave, and window shades (HOT and NO AIR CONDITIONING!)

Ocean Beach stay
I would say this home has its pluses and minuses. Ocean beach is not a chic community, but a relaxed, hippie venue. The town is chill and seems to be constant party mode. The home is in a so-so neighborhood, and is blocks from restaurants, bars, shopping and beaches. Therefore, the home is noisy from party-goers and the worst noise pollution comes from constant airplane traffic overhead! The home has had extensive remodeling in the past, but definitely could use a few updates. The amenities are appropriate, but a few things that could be amended are: more towels and washcloths/ dish rags for the kitchen/ towel hooks for the second bathroom/ replace old toilets as they are sluggish and we had to plunge them several times during the stay/ screens in the windows so guests can open up for fresh air/ shower heads either descaled or replaced as the water sprayed every-which-way. The yard was lovely and private. The home is definitely not wheelchair accessible. Beware of steep front approach steps and rugged/sharp ground stone pavers. Parking is alittle tricky, but shuffles around the block - you’ll find a spot. For the area, it is the nicest of residences.

Awesome place to stay!
This property is absolutely beautiful. The large deck and lush landscaping was the perfect place to hang out when not out exploring the town. It's within walking distance to the beach and a ton of shops. There is only street parking available, but it was easy enough to find a nearby spot every time we came back to the cottage. Would recommend to anyone!

Just came in town for a golf trip and to visit some friends. Surprisingly found out this house is pretty close to most things SD. Very easy to communicate with the owner, and would highly recommend staying here.

Clean comfortable and charming, historic cottage. All of the necessary amenities were available. The beds were comfortable. Large yard, with ample deck and beautiful landscaping, created an atmosphere of lodging in a private resort.

Awesome Experience!
Chris is a great host, but his house is even better. The house is historic and ideally located blocks from the beach, and the outdoor spaces are beautiful. There is no parking, and there is some airplane noise (during the day), but these are minor issues and part of the neighborhood. We spent an extended stay here and couldn’t be happier. Thanks, Chris!

Best little beach house! Prime location!
We had such a wonderful time staying at the beach house. The beaches, chill attitude/vibe and walk-ability of Ocean Beach made for a very fun and easeful vacation. Chris was a great host and recommended an excellent sushi place nearby called The Joint.
Overall, a special little pocket of the world.
