It was very cool to get to stay in a Fixer Upper house! The property manager was quick to respond and very clear with expectations for check in and out. The house though, was very dusty and buggy (though maybe that’s the norm for summers in Texas?).

We enjoy the house however we feel there is room for improvement. You are need to get an exterminator to take care of the wasp problem at the front and back of the house. The house should have been dusted before guess arrive. The drains need to be cleaned in bathroom.
The laundry room needs to be cleanr

There is something wrong with the thermostat. Kept turning it down to 72 and during the day and night I would go up by itself. Woke up in the middle of the night hot. Got up at 2:00 am and it was 77. I'm a 53 yr old woman and I just cannot do hot during the night and I'm sure other people staying there would agree.

Was looking forward to relaxing on what appeared to be a huge deck in the pictures, but was much smaller. But more disappointed that the furniture was so dirty we wouldn't sit on it. Really need to replace the shredded rug too. Same with furniture on front porch. I realize it was an older home, but the closets were so musky we hung our clothes in the living room. One of the drain plugs in the sink would not open, so we had to take turns using just one. Felt very uncomfortable, women alone, with no coverings for windows in kitchen. Did not feel the locks on the doors provided adequate safety. Outside bedroom doors were unlocked when we arrived.
I have never left a review like this. But spending that much money and being that disappointed was a bit much.

We had a great time! Really enjoyed staying at the house.

We recently stayed at the Little House on the Prairie property, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were clean, well-maintained, and the host was incredibly responsive. Booking through Vrbo was seamless, making it a stress-free getaway. Highly recommend!"

Upon arrival, my husband and I were concerned because of the location of the house but we were pleasantly surprised after entering the home. Very clean and perfectly decorated! Seriously the most comfortable bed that I’ve slept in at a VRBO (and I’m picky!). The neighborhood was so quiet that we could have easily slept all morning. The backyard is huge and there’s a nice little seating area with a fire feature on the back deck. Very cute and charming home!

We have two children that livecin Texas one in Houston. I had a work trip to Austin. Waco seemed like a great meeting place for a quick vist with bothnkids and their spouses. Plus I had to visit the Magnolia Silos. Cute house with comfy beds. Not as close to downtown as i would have liked.

The perfect place for a weekend stay. Close to everything. Kids loved the bunk beds and we were only a mile from the zoo!

Cute house with amazing back yard for kids and dog. Grill and fire pit were awesome. Great stay!

We absolutely loved staying in this home. We especially enjoyed browsing through all the Magnolia magazines and we started reading the book The Magnolia Story that was on the shelf. We were not able to finish reading the book so on our drive home we listened to the audio book and we were blessed. Thank you for providing all the basic necessities for our stay and we will definitely be renting this place in the future. It was a peaceful and blessed time. Cozy house!

Cutest place ever and fully stocked with everything you would need for your stay. Only one bathroom which is the only complaint. We were not there much but when we were it was so comfortable and adorable.

Easy check-in, fun farmhouse style. One note is the king “master” bedroom is connected to the home’s only bathroom. So if you’re that room’s occupant, you will hear any night time bathroom users 😊 - no big deal just something to know.
The property manager was great, responding with a fix and discount for an electrical issue we encountered (& were able to fix easily). We enjoyed our stay and the drive to Magnolia was simple.

Loved the Fixer Upper details, but also this property has a GIGANTIC backyard that is perfect for dogs and humans. The deck is really nice and the view is beautiful. It is also on a secluded cul de sac with no immediate neighbors. I wanted to buy it and keep it for a get away house.

Fixer Upper experience
It was great to stay in Waco and be in a house from Fixer Upper! The decor was just as you’d imagine from the show. The fenced backyard was great for the dog. The owners had great communication. The location was easy to get to even when driving at night, and it’s at the end of a dead end street, so it was pretty quiet. The neighborhood was rather run down and the house across the street had a lot of vehicles coming and going, maybe an auto repair shop or something. 4 stars because the house was great and comfortable, just the neighborhood wasn’t the nicest.

A wonderful way to celebrate…
Little House on the Prairie exceeded our expectations for my sisters and I to bring our mother to Magnolia to celebrate her 70th birthday! Kristi was so accommodating to us with quick responses to any questions we had. My husband and 4 kids want to experience Magnolia sometime and we will definitely come back to Little House on the Prairie to make more Magnolia memories. Thank you Kristi for being a great host!

Cute, fun, close
My daughters and I had so much fun staying at a place flipped by the Gaines’s. Gave us a real feel for what the couple has done for housing and design in Waco. Plenty of room for fun and relaxation. Very glad to have a good AC on the super hot days. Nice back deck. It’s an easy trip to the Silo’s etc.

Charming
We were in town for a graduation. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of towels to use during our stay. It was easy to get to and navigate through the neighborhood. Plenty of space for a family of 5.

Girls weekend
We enjoyed a 2 night girls weekend stay. The house was great for us. We enjoyed the back patio so much. The house was just as pictured and the back yard was surprisingly private for being in town.

Tennis Trip
We were in Waco for the state tennis tournament and this house was within 10 minutes of the courts, closer than any other vrbo houses or hotels. It was a nice house and we would stay again. I would have liked to spend some time on the back porch, it was a beautiful setting.

Great stay in Waco
The Little House was a great experience and a fun place to stay after having seen the renovation on Fixer Upper. Kristi is easy to deal with and a great caretaker of the property.

Little House 👍
Overall we had a great time. HOUSE was clean and looked like it did on the show. Only negatives no washer and dryer, and the shrubs needs pruning . It was our 29th wedding anniversary and we had a great time.

Fixer Upper house needs fixing up
The house is in a less than desirable neighborhood and was noisy with vehicles coming and going all hours of night and day with loud engines and music.
There are windows in the house that do not have coverings leaving the house somewhat exposed at night with the neighbors being within relatively close proximity. Because we were all women traveling together it left us feeling uneasy at night.
The front door and porch is barely visible due to overgrown shrubs. Yard is unkept and most of the outdoor furniture needs cleaning and or refurbished .
Upon arriving there was a cigarette and empty beer can left on the bedroom dresser. Soap residue in the one and only tub. Toothpaste smeared on the front door of the bathroom vanity. Two hand towels and six wash cloths left to service five women for a three night stay.
The bedding and throw pillows on the bedding and sofa are looking worn and dingy.
There was an open hole in the floor of the bedroom closet directly exposing the cellar basement. That closet could not be used due to the “musty” odor inside. The entire house had an unusual odor. It was not at all appealing.
Honestly, it was just disappointing when compared to the listing description and pictures reflecting the property. I believe Joanna Gaines would be mortified to know that her name is being used to “promote” this house considering its appearance now.
I just simply expect better from a premier host on VRBO

Thanksgiving
The house would be better for a 2 night stay than our 5 night stay. The beds, linens, towels and couches were very comfortable. We hosted our children (Baylor students) for Thanksgivings and felt there was not adequate food storage or kitchen cookware. Having to pass through the only bathroom to enter the master bedroom was challenging at times as well. The neighbors were revving engines and working on multiple cars on the street throughout our stay

Perfectly Wonderful Stay For Baylor Family Weekend
What a special home. My wife, my high school daughter, and I headed to Waco to visit my oldest daughter who is a student at Baylor. It was family weekend and this home served as a wonderful home base for all of us. My oldest and one of her friends also ended up staying with us as there was plenty of room.
The house is beautifully decorated and so cozy. It was such a special spot for our family to be reunited at. My wife and my girls especially loved all of the design touches and of course made sure to watch the Fixer Upper show that this house was featured on. They were all surprised that the house actually looks even better now than it did on the show.
So, only great things to say about this place. Oh, we're from Orange County, CA and one of the other reviewers of this property said something about how someone from Orange County might be taken back by the neighborhood. False! The neighborhood is so nice and friendly and the home is quiet; and when sitting on the back patio you feel like you're in the country. I have nothing but great things to say about the home and neighborhood.
We'll be going to Waco a few times a year for a while, and we no doubt will plan to book this great home whenever available.

Exceeded expectations!
This beautiful and cozy home was the perfect place for us to stay while in town visiting Baylor. Beds and furnishings were incredibly omfortable, entertaining space so charming! We loved it and thank you for your warm Texas hospitality providing information for local grocery stores for necessities also. Would love to stay here again!

Wonderful Stay at the Little House on the Prairie
We had a wonderful stay at the Little House on the Prairie. The house was beautiful, clean and very cozy. We loved spending the night at the back porch too. It was just few minutes away from the famous Magnolia Market, other attractions, restaurants, shops and groceries. I definitely would recommend this lovely house.

This beautiful property was perfect for our group of ladies to gather and enjoy each other’s company. We are two moms with our soon to be Baylor freshman daughter’s and a grandma visiting Waco just to have fun and get excited about the upcoming school year. My friend and I are traveling from California, but are originally from Texas. Therefore, we enjoyed having the indoor and outdoor living space to have local friends over to visit while we are in town. These were also some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in with delightfully soft sheets with down like pillows!Travel tip: If you don’t want to navigate the 2 hour wait for a seat at the Magnolia Table, check out the funky but very delicious Butter My Biscuits down the road. We also loved a place called Milo’s. I gave a 4 star rating for the neighborhood simply because it is a poorer section of town where you are surrounded by a lot of old and rundown homes. If you are traveling from some place like Orange County, CA, it could be a bit of a shock. But the home is just a 10 minute drive to campus and we felt safe here. You just have to adjust to some unusual neighborhood noise like loud cars and neighbors setting off a few fire crackers, but things were always quiet at a decent time to get a good night’s sleep.

Experience was smooth as silk, and house met all of our expectations. Perfect for the two of us to enjoy our first Waco/Magnolia experience.

Fixer upper
We saw the show that featured the property on Fixer Upper. It was just my wife and I staying at the house so the one bathroom was enough. It had a very large backyard for our dog to play. We basically slept there as we toured Magnolia two days and had a visit to the Baylor Research Park on another day. Magnolia was fun and an amazing place to visit.
