The property is exactly as advertised. The only potential “surprise” was how incredibly well stocked the kitchen was upon arrival (we expected very basic supplies, but were pleasantly surprised to find everything we could possibly need). The house was large, had plenty of sleep and relaxation space, was clean, and properly advertised on the listing. The host was easy to communicate with and provided updates as needed throughout (at one point I let him know a couple light bulbs were dead but that I didn’t need him to do anything during our trip. He replied immediately and offered to come by and replace if we wanted that day). Everything was easy and you should have no hesitations about staying here.

This is the most perfect home - everything we needed and more for a large multi-family vacation! The different levels and gorgeous outdoor living space allowed for privacy when needed and multiple hangout spots. The open kitchen, large dinning table, and living room shared space made for dancing in the kitchen while preparing meals, at the same time as intense family card games around the dining room table, and others binging favorite shows on the big screen smart tv - with quick breaks for stiff ping pong competitions in the amazing finished basement, followed by perfect nights with s’mores around the outdoor fireplace! We’ve rented for close to 15 years on the other side of OB by Waban/Niantic Park, and so weren’t sure if the location would work for kids (and adults) walking and biking into town - especially at night when teens going to the arcade - but it was a PERFECT location for everyone! Cannot wait to go back again. Thank you, thank you for the BEST house for our annual family trip!

The location, size, layout, and amenities of this house are wonderful. The owner was very good at communicating, and always got back to us promptly.
And although the owner attempted and mostly succeeded at fixing all of our issues promptly, we were disappointed in certain aspects of the house, mainly related to organization and neatness of closets, kitchen cabinets and drawers, as well as the quality of toilet paper, towels, and such. Hopefully what we pointed out to him has been addressed, and if so, this is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy all that the Vineyard has to offer.

This lovely home was the nicest rental my family and friends have had the pleasure of visiting. Every room was clean, up-to-date, spacious, and comfortable. More than enough bathrooms for everyone! Plenty of beach equipment and games/entertainment for a rainy day. The kids didn't want to leave! The finished basement and beautiful outside space are a bonus. Plus, the location is ideal in a quiet neighborhood close enough to walk to the beach and downtown Oak Bluffs. We had an amazing long weekend getaway!

This house was a great find for our MV stay. We had a mix of small kids and adults and the house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay from the # of beds & baths, the bonus room downstairs & spacious side yard with fire pits. The only down side to our stay was there were ticks that we found on us and the kids after playing in the yard that we had to worry about throughout our stay. Perhaps we visited at the height of tick season (June) and this house is in a secluded area in the woods so not necessarily surprising but would advise others to continually use bug spray when in the yard. House is great location to local beaches & downtown OB and we enjoyed walking everywhere. Overall we would love to stay again here next year!

We were visiting family for thanksgiving and had a great time. There were a couple of issues like a clogged drain and scratched pans that the property manager immediately resolved. He brought a whole new set of pots and pans. We would definitely stay at this property again.

My friends and I just spent 3 nights at this gorgeous East Chop property. Everyone in the group gives it 5 stars. First off, the location is prime. It's less than a 5 minute drive to the OB dock and 10 minutes to VH. You can easily walk down to the marina and over to Circut Ave.
The house and property itself were an absolute delight. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need and then some. The large kitchen, dining space, living room with gas fireplace, and the bonus basement living room and bar, made this house perfect for 10 guests. With 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms everyone had enough space to stretch out and have privacy. I think our favorite feature was the outdoor space - the gas fire pit on the deck was awesome for morning coffee lounging. The fireplace in the yard was perfect for the evening fires, which came stocked with firewood. The yard is a great size for gathering a group for lawn games or a yoga session.
The property manager was fantastic at coming to our rescue we when realized some light fixtures were not working properly. We arrived during a storm and had a surge, so they arranged a convenient time for it to be addressed and then fixed quickly. We also received an extra propane tank for our stay and plenty of firewood!
Note - follow the GPS carefully. The location is a bit tricky with narrow dirt roads that break off. It's totally worth it for the peaceful location. You might even see deer like we did a few times.
If you're looking for a spacious place to stay with great indoor/outdoor entertaining space, plus close to town, this property is it! Enjoy your stay! We'll be counting down until our next one. Cheers!

2 families stayed at this lovely property for a mini getaway. The home included all of the amenities to keep the kids and adults entertained during the stay. We would definitely book again. The owner is very responsive and helpful.

Great Stay!
The property was perfect for our family of 10 staying for a week in Martha's Vineyard. The amenities were awesome and a very short walk or bike ride into Oak Bluffs. We took advantage of the outdoor fireplace and grill on several occasions. I would highly recommend this property.

Very Ebjoyable
We were very pleased with the property. There was more than ample both community space and private space. Property was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. A Thanksgiving to remember
We decided to move our Thanksgiving celebration to MV this year to make reuniting with family extra special. We found the most perfect house! Carrington is the most responsive owner that I have ever worked with and we have been renting on the island for over 10 yrs! No question was ever too small for him to answer immediately both before booking, after booking and during our stay. The house is just as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. It is equipped with EVERYTHING you could ever need. Just remember we made our full family Thanksgiving feast using all of the things in house. The house was super clean and extremely comfortable. We did get turned around a bit driving to the house the first time on the bumpy road, but quickly figured it out. We were cozy by the fire places and all through the house. We didn’t walk, but it is such a short to Circuit A e and beaches. We can’t wait to experience all that this house has to offer in the summer. Thanks, Carrington for everything!

Great place to stay on the Vineyard
The house is even better in-person. The space is highly functional, including a "hangout" basement and an excellent fire-pit in the side yard. The location is ideal for walking into the bluff. Carrington was very welcoming and responsive. Overall, our group was very happy and would stay again.

Open floor plan (kitchen, living room, dining room) is great for larger groups. Furnished Basement with pool/ping pong table an added plus for groups needing extra space (ie with kids). Outdoor fireplace also a positive.

We rented this house for my mother's 73rd birthday. There were six adults and four littles and we all had the space we needed! The house was clean and Carrington made everything easy. Bonus: you can walk to the beach. We'd stay again for sure.

Memorial Day girls trip
We had such a wonderful stay on the Vineyard this Memorial Day. After a long quarantine, this was the perfect house to get together with girl friends and reunite. Despite terrible weather, we got to enjoy the cozy house, which was perfectly set up for groups. The main floor had an open living/kitchen area with plenty of seating for all, and the basement provided the same experience! Plenty of beds and bathrooms that made every room feel like a master bedroom. Information was shared clearly in the lead-up and everything went very smoothly. Highly recommend!!

Fantastic family Vacation!
We so enjoyed staying in this beautiful home! It’s convenient to Vinyard Haven, and set in lovely surroundings! We enjoyed the deck at different times of day, and in the evening with the fire pit. My niece and daughter in law both had to work one day, and the work station in the basement was perfect for remote meetings. Had a small issue with a door that sticks, and Carrington was very attentive and helpful!Note: rent your bikes from Anderson’s....they have been a family owned business since 1973, and were so helpful!! We visited all the towns during our stay, but decided that Oak Bluff/Vineyard Haven were our favorite areas. Will definitely be back for a future family getaway!

Perfect MV Getaway
This house was perfect for our group and Carrington was a wonderful host. We spent a long weekend here and enjoyed all that the house had to offer. We cooked dinner at the house most nights and relaxed by the fire pit or played games. The house was in a great location and we were able to walk everywhere. We will definitely be back!

This house was perfect for our group since we were planning to spend a lot of time at the house besides Island activities-- mostly did meals at home. The big kitchen and the grill were super nice and perfect for cooking up big group meals. We also used the gas fire pit on the deck every night which was a huge bonus. There was plenty of personal space/ sleeping arrangements as well and two big living rooms (upstairs and downstairs) for watching Football on Sunday. It's a short drive ( less than 5mins) from town. The drive is a little confusing at first but we got the hang of it. It's about a 15 minute walk from Our Market right in Oak Bluffs. Your group doesn't need a car but our group found it super helpful to have one for grocery and provisions trips and to get out of Oak Bluffs. We rented a jeep on the Turo app which was the best rate on Island. The house is on a pretty bumpy dirt road so while you don't need an SUV we were grateful we had that over a sedan. Overall this place was great and highly recommended for anyone looking for somewhere convenient to OB but not too close to town either. The neighborhood is very private/ quiet. Great work to Carrington and his team on this property! Thanks!

Great for groups of 8 or families. House is in great shape and grounds are nice. Only concern is hard to find even for Uber drivers first time but once you get your bearings not a big deal. Easy check in process and great communication on the whole process.

Amazing Vineyard Home!
This was the best home we rented on the island. The house was perfect for all of us and the families on this trip! Perfect space for teens in the basement and gettingbthe guesthouse was perfect for our older family members (no stairs). We would definitely stay here again! And Getaway Society is very easy to work with and very accessible with any questions you might have during your stay! Enjoyed it!

Great family vacation spot
My extended family of 10 spent our family vacation on the Vineyard and we stayed at Pirate’s Reef for one week in late July. We had a delightful time on the Vineyard and we particularly enjoyed the Pirate’s Reef house. When we were in the house, we spent most of our time on the first floor and on the deck. We loved the open design that allowed us to congregate in the kitchen, living room and dining area. The house has a terrific layout and is beautifully furnished. The basement is also a great addition. We really enjoyed the ping pong/pool table. Most of the bedrooms had en suite baths – a rarity in Oak Bluffs.
The location is perfect. It’s a 10-minute walk to restaurants and retail stores on Circuit Avenue, and a 15-minute walk to the beach. The house is tucked away on a street that is off the beaten path. This adds to the charm of the house. But I suggest that you ask for turn by turn directions to the house. The roads are single-lane dirt roads without street lights. We arrived at night and had a very hard time finding the house.
Bottom line – you can’t go wrong with Pirate’s Reef. A great place to stay on Martha’s Vineyard.
