Rare Find! Gated LUXURY, 7500 sq. ft., Beachfront Villa on Millionaires Row

Property was perfect. The only downside was we felt the concierge was not very responsive or helpful as we were trying to plan our trip.

Large house suited for large groups. Beautiful rooms overlooking the ocean.

Beautiful, just like the pictures. Maid service was excellent. Walking distance to town. Private security. Overall exceeded expectations. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect home and location for a relaxing vacation with teenagers (if there is such a thing!). The location of the home was ideal-far enough from Tamarindo to have a quiet private beach and close enough that we could get there quickly for dinners or a night out! We traveled with 4 teenage boys who said it was the best spring break they’ve had. The staff at the house was so helpful-from dinner reservations and help planning drivers and excisions to keeping the house tidy and us safe, they didn’t miss a thing! One thing I would point out is that 2 of the bedrooms (pool room and casita) are not accessible from the main house so they wouldn’t be ideal for young children. However, for teens or older couples it was perfect! Highly recommend booking here! We can’t wait to come back!

The house is great and as advertised. Maria and Susanne were fantastic to work with, very responsive, and happy to give us plenty of activity ideas. It is on the beach even if you can’t tell from the pictures. The location is great also. Maybe a 5 min drive from downtown Tamarindo, it’s quiet - but close to everything.

Just got home from great stay at Casa de Las Torgugas. What a beautiful house and property! Maria was so helpful as the concierge. Bertha and Jose were also great! The nightly guard was much appreciated although we felt very safe. The property was well-maintained, and the house was spotless. Lots of excellent restaurants with just a short golf cart ride. No car needed.

The property and staff exceeded our expectations. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed for our family vacation. This is a boutique hotel experience with a home feeling. Anything we needed, Susanna was quick to respond and help us. Clean, organized and luxury Costa Rica living! A short walk to restaurants, beach, or bars. This house is perfect and our family already wants to plan our next vacation.

Yes, Casa de Tortugas is worth 3 exclamation points!!! Our group was 2 families and the home layout was great. Suzanne, the concierge, was exceptionally helpful and went out of her way to make sure that all of our needs (excursions, activities, etc.) were met (exceeded really). If you're thinking about booking this house, hit the button NOW. You won't be dissapointed.

Our extended family had a fantastic stay at Casa de Las Tortugas. The house and property was outstanding and accurately portrayed in the listing. The staff was very friendly and kept everything in great shape. Highly recommend Chef Roy for meals at the house and Diana was a great help with excursions and transportation needs. Overall a great trip!

Well managed, first class private resort property with delightful boutique hotel maid, maintenance, and private, on site guard. We also used culinary staff (extra charge} for outstanding gourmet gala dinners at very reasonable rates. Our 50th anniversary family reunion of 11 (did not use one room, could comfortably accommodate 13) was extraordinary. Costa Rica is not inexpensive anymore, but tours and arrangements made by concierge staff went off without a hitch. Even a child’s earache was treated promptly at a local clinic with medicine for 75 usd. The property is in an upscale area, not directly in the tourist row of shops and bars/restaurants, but within longish walking distance..less than a mile. The communication with the owner was swift, accurate and helpful. The welcome package was outstanding in property detail, activities coping in Costa Rica. Thanks Chris for a great stay.

We had an incredible time at Playa Langosta. The property is in the perfect location, close, yet not on top of town. It is located right on the beach just as stated. The house staff are truly amazing. They were helpful, engaging, and always present when needed. My only encouragement would be to update the kitchen. We LOVE to cook and bake, as well as make drinks. The appliances and pots/pans and serving equipment was either outdated, missing (no cookie sheets and only one serving tray), or not working well (blender). Other than that small piece of feedback, everything was perfect. Cheers, nick & family

Wow - what an amazing stay at Casa de las Tortugas! We just can't say enough about our week here with 13. Highlights....
The Home - the photos on the website were accurate. Large en suites with privacy for everyone, ocean views and balconies from 5 of them. Indonesian styled and comfortable. Public spaces were great - plenty of space to gather on the veranda and poolside. Kitchen was super well equipped. There was nothing we needed that we couldn't find.
Location - maybe our favorite attribute of this home. We felt it was the best situated accommodation in the area. Beach had beautiful rock formations with sandy bottomed tide pools for swimming and lounging at low tide and spectacular surf displays at high tide. All to ourselves! Just 15 min walk north, was bustling Tamarindo, 15 min south was an estuary and protected nature reserve. Simply spectacular in every way with solitude on the beach for miles. The neighborhood of Playa Langosta suited us perfectly with an Italian restaurant/wine shop, great pizza place and super fun sports bar. We also ate dinner at the Cala Luna resort across the street from the house. Great neighborhood.
Activities/Food - We took the owner's advice and visited the Borinquen Lodge for the day, 2.5 hours shuttle ride away. Highly recommend this trip! An amazing retreat- horseback riding, waterfalls, 2 km zipline followed by lunch and thermal pools. A long drive to get there, but worth it!
We also booked Chef Sol to cater a dinner at the home. Her staff Carolina and Gabriella prepared one of the best meals we ate on the trip! Not only was the food delicious, but they treated everyone like VIPs...filling glasses, bringing great energy, and they left the house sparkling clean. We all wished we would have booked them for more than one night!
The Staff - The service level provided at the house was incredible. We had 2 daytime staff- cleaning and making sure the grounds were maintained. And at night, a security guard patrolled the exterior of the house constantly. They were all so kind and helpful.
Diana, property manager, could not have been more accommodating. Above and beyond. She even booked an AM fishing trip for us with just 12 hours notice. She was always available and so sweet.
Our only wish was that there had been more shade/umbrellas in the pool area, but that is literally the only thing we would change. Book Casa de las Tortugas as soon as you can! You will not regret it!!

Three generations of our family spent the week prior to Christmas at the lovely Casa de las Tortugas. We were a group of 11, aged 15-78, and this large house offered plenty of space and age-appropriate accommodations for everyone. The 3 members of the on-site staff are delightful; though we fumbled between English and Spanish, they were pleasant, friendly, and always willing to be of assistance. Chris, the owner, was responsive to all my questions, and Diana, the concierge at Tradewinds, helped me plan outings, groceries, etc.
Some things to know:
1. Rent golf carts. It's a long walk to town, even longer to the major grocery store. Parking is limited within Tamarindo, and golf carts are easier to navigate.
2. The house is on the beach, which is awesome. The beach is quite rocky, though, and you can't swim at high tide. Low tide offers wading and tide pool exploration. If you want chairs, umbrellas, surfing, swimming, etc., you'll have to go to the main beach in Tamarindo.
3. Recommendations: Estuary Tour with David Rodriguez; surfing with Rafa Sandoval; spend an afternoon and charter the sailboat Serendipity (best day of our trip); arrange for Sol or Gaston to cook in the house a couple of nights (plan all these in advance of your arrival).
Casa is the perfect place to be if you want to get away but still are worried about covid. We spent plenty of afternoons on the large patio, by the pool, watching some football, drinking lots Imperial, or reading books with the sound of the ocean as a backdrop. There are plenty of iguanas to keep you entertained, too. We didn't need--or want--to do much else.
Thanks to everyone at Casa de las Tortugas for a wonderful week!

Overall, we had a great experience at this home and in Costa Rica. The house managers were very helpful in helping to arrange activities in advance of arriving and were always available for questions once we arrived. The only thing that we did not realize until we got there was that two of the rooms were not attached to the house and this made the sleeping arrangements more difficult to figure out since we had young kids that were all sharing a room.

We had an extended stay in this comfortable, large home in a stunning setting right on Playa Langosta but close enough to town that we walked a couple of times. We were a family group of four families and never once felt crowded. Four of the bedrooms adjoin the main house and two of them are external rooms with separate entrances. Fresh sheets, plentiful towels, working AC, and a well stocked kitchen made our stay super easy.
The grounds are wonderful and well maintained by a daily groundskeeper. The views from the veranda hand main bedrooms are incredible. We enjoyed morning by the pool and sunset walks on the beach.
There’s a daily housekeeper who makes sure the house stays tidy and we were able to have a private chef come in a few times during our stay—the meals were delicious!
Be sure to visit the beach club down the road which is great for lunch and hanging out with the family! Also eat at Fish and Cheeses a few minutes walk from the home—best Italian we’ve had for a while.
Overall a very nice stay in this lovely vacation home.

The house and grounds were gorgeous and all that it said it was and more! We had four adults and three kids. There was more than enough room for everyone to sleep and lounge. We had delicious dinners made by Sol as well close proximity to town. The waves hitting the rocks at high tide was personally my favorite. My girls favorite was seeing Luigi, the estate iguana, and feeding him fruit as well as going to find the hermit crabs at night. Just walk to the sand and they’re everywhere! I really wasn’t sure how much fun my girls would have, but they truly enjoyed it all. This is the perfect place for a family or to a group just wanting to relax. Highly recommend hiring Sol or even going to her B&B that’s a few doors down for breakfast. It was delicious! Concierge service knows it all and can point you to anything you want to do or see.

Our family (6 adults and 3 young children) just returned from a stay at Casa de las Tortugas. The stay at this breathtaking property absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. Communication prior to check-in with Diana was seamless and she had everything perfectly prepared for our arrival. The staff at the house (Dixiana and Audi) went above and beyond to make sure we were well cared for. We had dinner prepared in house by the incredible Chef Sol and this is a CANT MISS during your stay - incredible food and company from being to end. We cannot recommend a stay here enough, we would go back with absolutely no hesitation. Incredible!

I can’t say enough about this home and location! It was set up perfectly for 5 couples and is only steps from the ocean. The concierge, Diana was fabulous and helped to arrange activities and also had the kitchen stocked when we arrived. Our chef, Sol, was not only an amazing chef but was so fun to have around. Dixianna, Audie and Mario were a huge help and we really enjoyed them. We will definitely stay here again!

The house staff was amazing, and so attentive, and we were so glad to have hired Sol. She made all the difference in the world, especially having young children that we didn't have to drag them out to dinner each night. Plus, her food was so much better than even the nice restaurants in town. Any questions we had the house managers addressed and went above and beyond to help, outside of their job descriptions. The house layout worked perfectly. So close to the tide pools. We would hit the Tamarindo beach in the am before it got too hot, then back after lunch to snorkel and swim. It really all worked out wonderfully.
