Beautiful house in a great location.

We rented this property to celebrate my birthday and it was the perfect space to relax and rejuvenate!
Check-in was a breeze and I was incredibly grateful for the easy communication with the property owner. We had a few minor questions pop up during our stay and he was always very quick to politely respond.
The house is meticulously maintained from the gorgeous kitchen, large well-stocked bathrooms, and all the way down to the dock. The layout is also maximized for comfort, and everyone felt like they had their own space which really helped on a day when the weather wasn't so great.
I could have stayed at the house for the entire trip, but the proximity to great restaurants and shopping was a huge plus! The Tides Inn, The Local, The Office Bistro, Dredge, etc. were all fun excursions.
I really cannot say enough great things about this property and am so excited to return again soon! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Our family of 5 has stayed at this property twice. Everything is extremely well maintained and the location is perfect. The dock on Carters creek is great if you are bringing a boat.

This house is amazing! Beautiful home with a great outdoor set up. The amenities are plenty and well thought out by the owners. The owner of the property was very responsive and helpful.

We had a family get together and the house was perfect. Clean, spacious, and great amenities. The massive dock was great to hang out on and the water is beautiful. The convenience to downtown Irvington and the tides inn was super convenient.

The cottage was spacious, welcoming, clean, and exceptionally well-appointed, inside and out. We enjoyed our week in Irvington and appreciated the owner's attention to detail. Amazing dock and water access, and perfect distance to and from town. We'll be back!

The epitome of a comfortable river house with all of the amenities for living on the water. Barry has thought of everything both inside and out. If you have a boat, the dock is spectacular. Easy walk to the Tides Inn and fun to bike into town. We will return!

Large premium house with outstanding water views and a dock. Multiple outside sitting areas made it great for my children & their spouses. Our toddler grandchild also did well. The large dining room table and we’ll equipped kitchen made meals a pleasure. The location is walkable to the town center. Including satellite TV was also good.

This house was perfect for our family, with so much to do and something for everyone. Great time fishing, playing games, relaxing, yet close to amenities to enjoy other activities, shopping, and restaurants. Would definitely go back!

This house was so nice. The kitchen and great room are one big room and the big screen TV is above the fire place at the far end. So you can make meals and watch TV at the same time. Your whole family can hang out in one room. We loved the kayaks and used them every morning. We really enjoyed everything about the house. Thanks for making everything so easy.

Vacation with neighbors
We spent a week at the house with some friends (4 adults and 3 children). The house was wonderful, clean, bright, and big. Lake was nice, but swimming wasn't possible because of the jellyfish. Went kayaking every day. The town of Irvington is quaint. The host was very responsive.

Family Gathering
Our family of 3 generations has stayed in several rental properties over the past few years and this one by far was the best appointed home we've enjoyed. The kitchen is well equipped and organized, and the space is ideal for our group of 9. The bedrooms are comfortable and the walkability to downtown Irvington made it the ideal place to catch up with family that now lives all over the country. We enjoyed the gas fire pit at night, and the owner was responsive and easy to work with. We highly recommend it.

Very nice home
The house is beautiful. Nice wide open space on the main level. Great views of the water on Carter's creek. Nicely outfitted kitchen. Barry was easy to work with. Kayakers should know that entry and exit from the water is tricky, there is a floating dock which I find difficult to use. Barry said he is considering a new set up that would make it easier to use. All in all a great spot!

Great for all ages
Home wasn’t “baby-proofed”, but it was very easy to navigate with toddlers since doors could be used to close off areas as needed. Great, large space for everyone to gather in the main area & bedrooms/bathrooms were separated well for privacy.

Great location and beautiful property
This is a lovely home that will accommodate multiple couples or family. Close to the Tides Inn and lots of opportunity for activity on the water or around the community.
Very peaceful location with great places - indoors and out to enjoy the cove and tranquil surroundings.
Some other reviews complain about the rules - while at first they may appear over bearing, they are common sense and nothing I would not expect of an invited guest in my own home. There were also others commenting about trash removal - it’s a quick 5 minute drive to a county facility that’s open from 7 am until 7pm each day - a non issue.
Barry is easy to deal with and accommodating.

Perfect retreat!
Absolutely perfect place for our small retreat. the house is comfortable, spacious and pristine and the views and outdoor spaces are really special and outstandingly well kept and serene. Great communication, even more lovely than the photos, and a lovely quick walk into the village.

Tides Cottage
What a lovely property! Beautifully decorated a d such a well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed kayaking on Carter’s Creek- walking over to the Tides inn- and biking to the Local for coffee in the mornings. The dock is absolutely wonderful and the views stunning!

Incredible property!
I can’t say enough about this property. It was even more wonderful than it looked online. Every detail had been well considered and every need addressed - they have thought of it all. The location on the water is spectacular and the home is beautifully appointed with the perfect blend of luxury and cozy comfort to suit family gatherings. Highly recommend this property.

Wonderful end to the summer
Wonderfully relaxing home at the “Rivah”, beautifully decorated, fully stocked and convenient location. If you are looking for a home at the river that will fit the entire family and accommodate your boat this is the house. It’s also nice to be near the Tides Inn for the nights you don’t want to cook. Zero complaints and Barry was super easy to work with.

This house was perfect for our family get away. It had everything we could possibly need. House was everything you see in pictures and more!! Taking trash to dump was really no big deal. We loved our time in Irvington!

Beautiful home, great view
Property was probably the cleanest vacation home I’ve rented. Beautifully decorated home with an amazing view. Our family of 6 adults and 2 children had a wonderful time. We used the crab traps and got plenty of crabs which we enjoyed, a fun experience I’m sure the children will remember all their lives. We used the kayaks the owner provided. The owner was super easy to work with. Prior complaints about having to take your garbage to the local waste disposal are exaggerated. Easy process and the dump is nearby. Ate breakfast or lunch at The Local each day and the local doughnut shop. Great restaurants in walking distance. Everyone in town very friendly. Highly recommend this home if you are visiting the area

Beautiful home, beautiful location
We’ve stayed at many VRBOs and we found this one to be the cleanest, best appointed one of all. We appreciated being able to dock our boat on the large pier and enjoyed our morning coffee on the pier. We used the bikes to go into town and explore the area. It’s a great location near the Tides Inn. Our son enjoyed sleeping in the second floor loft. We’d highly recommend.

Great house on the water! We brought our boat for our stay and loved Carter’s Creek. The house and dock are all in terrific shape. You can tell the owner cares about this house. Very clean too! We will be back!

Riva Time
This is a great rental in a great location. The house was very well equipped including the little things. Very spacious and modern appliances make for a great vacation. So relaxing, you'll be on Riva time . Only recommendation is that trash services be included at this price. Taking your trash to the dump is no fun.

The house was as advertised and we very much enjoyed our time in Irvington.
Owner has unnecessarily high expectations of his guests. We had cleaned the house, no parties or damage, took out the garbage and payed all fees on time (including the cleaning fee...). Owner aggressively berated me on my honeymoon and was also incredibly rude to my mother-in-law as if his house had been destroyed... Based on our conversations with the owner, he has reacted this way to his guests in the past.
Owner also promised to work with us and provide a refund for a portion of the stay we had to miss due to COVID. This was never honored.
Overall we loved the house, just be wary of the owner.

This house IS the most perfect house in THE most perfect spot. It's as beautiful as it is relaxing. It's spotless. It's absolutely one of the best weekends away we've ever had.
