The house is very nice and well appointed in a charming neighborhood, but way, way too hot. There is only AC in the master bedroom which couldn’t keep up until nightfall. None of us could handle the heat so we had to leave early. Host is very nice and a good communicator. I wish we could have stayed longer. It’s a very nice place except the heat issue.

My wife and I loved Debra’s house. It was comfortable and as described online, had all the amenities we needed, and made it easy to cook/grill out for meals. Loved the location to access Waimea Canyon and west shore beaches, too. Thanks for a great stay, Debra!

We enjoyed our stay at this Kekaha house. It was in a nice area, the house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The house was only 2 blocks away from the beach and the sunsets were beautiful. Kekaha is only 3 miles from Waimea where you can see and/or hike the Waimea Canyon, have shave ice a Jojos, and enjoy good food at multiple restaurants. I highly recommend staying at this wonderful house.

Great location, friends and I took a girls trip from Oahu to Kauai to do a tour of the Nā pali coast. The location was perfect for us as the area our group met was only 3 minutes from the house! Debra was very welcoming and had the sweetest pup! The neighborhood was quiet and safe! Would definitely be back!

This beautiful home was perfect for our short trip to Kauai! Friendly neighbor visited us and even gave us a fresh mango off the tree! Short 5-10 minute walk to the beach! Everything was perfect!

This was such a beautiful and spacious house and seemed even nicer than the photos. Perfect for a few friends or a family. Debra was very easy to communicate with and super friendly. We would absolutely stay here again!

Very clean house in a quiet neighborhood so you can sleep to sound of waves crashing. Tasty mangoes growing out back. The hosts were amazing

We enjoyed our stay in the house that I was raised in. It was very comfortable.
I was surprised with the availability of all kitchen equipment and cooking supplies that were provided. We grilled chicken and vegetables and it worked out great.

Very cute older cottage within walking distance to the beach. Lots of fans but only AC in the master bedroom. The hostess Debra is very attentive and was quick to respond to any of our needs. It was the quiet place we were hoping for! The garden in the back yard is beautiful and a great place to drink tea/coffee in the morning.

We stayed in 3 places on Kauai to avoid long drives, and this plantation house was a great start. Beautiful sitting area with a fountain and lush planting, great hosts who met our requests. Just 5 minute walk to a sunset beach and close to Waimea Canyon hikes. The house was built with salvaged materials after WWII and has tons of charm.

Debra is an excellent hostess, providing everything her guests could want in a clean and safe environment. If you need some beach equipment, she’s got it ready for you. The kitchen is fully stocked and the beds are very comfortable. Easily sleeps six. As an added bonus, she’ll let you get all the dog loving you want from her pup! Highly recommend this property.

We loved this cozy little cottage style home. I knew there would be enough space for 3 but this was over the top. Tons of room for 4 and just enough for 6 if needed. So many windows for that evening breeze. We really didn't use the fans or AC too much. Very well stocked which we appreciated cause we did do quite a few meals at home. Debra, Hoku and her charming husband are fantastic to deal with. Appreciated the hospitality, tips and fresh mangos from their tree. Mahalo guys. There is doubt, we'll see you again.

The house is very nice. There are a lot of windows which allow for evening breezes. The owner came on our first day and showed us where everything is. She was so helpful. Neglected to ask about pets, as my son is severely allergic to cats - but that is on me. The area is well-maintained and quiet - lovely waterfall in the backyard. A good place for a get away!

WE had a lovely time and Debra is a great host. We loved her very well behaved dog Hoku when he visited (we encouraged this). Was very close to Waimea Canyon and very easy to access any place on island with a car.

We only were here for one night and it was just right! The accommodation is finely furnished, comfortable, easy to hang out in, and only a couple blocks from the ocean!

We absolutely loved our time here and were able to easily relax! The hosts were incredibly kind and friendly, and gave the best tips for local snorkeling spots! The location is perfect for Waimea Canyon and a long Na Pali cruise. The outdoor grill was perfect for home cooked meals at the end of the day and there were plenty of kitchen tools available. The beds were very comfortable and we would totally stay here again!

Debra has made a very comfortable, attractive place to stay. We had a great time and were able to easily relax and have a "vacation at home" kind of experience. Easy to get to all of the west attractions and much of the south attractions, too. Debra made it easy to enjoy the beaches with her provision of towels, chairs, and a shower specific for coming back from the ocean, so heading near or a little bit far was barely a consideration. We would definitely recommend this place to others!

This property is exactly as advertised, and was even better in person. Host Debra had excellent communication with us. We loved this home, the water feature sounds from the back lenai, the exotic bird sounds (and rooster, ha), and all the fans in the home. It was VERY comfortable, and AC in the primary bedroom. The house is well stocked with every dish, glassware, utensil you will ever need, AND snorkel gear, beach chairs and towels, etc. to use! Debra even loaned us her life jackets. It was a great surprise when she brought us fresh mangos that we enjoyed each morning. SO sweet and delicious! Location was great - in a very nice, quiet residential neighborhood, walking distance to watch the sun set on the beach each night. Easy driving distance to anywhere you want to go on the island. We would 100% come back to this home, we loved it. I recommend booking it if it's available!

Probably the best vacation rental I’ve stayed in. Roomy, airy, well equipped. Host was nearby and very accommodating - dropped by with fresh mango from the tree in the back. Would definitely stay here again

This vacation home was exactly what we had hoped. Cute vintage beach house/old Hawaii vibe with great tradewind cross-ventilation and lots of natural light.
Gracious hosts, spacious rooms, easy walk to ocean, lovely landscaping. Comfortable beds, well-appointed kitchen and beach gear and outdoor grill. Beautiful night sky with Milky Way views. Close to Kokee. Relaxed neighborhood.
I have honestly never stayed in a more comfortable, better-appointed or better located VRBO in Hawaii. And I have stayed in very many of them.

Great Kekaha Home
The Ohana enjoyed staying at a local house. It is in a nice neighborhood. Liko & Debra Hookano were great hosts. The house was comfortable and nicely appointed.

Kekaha adventure
Debra and Liko are great. They were communicative and accommodating. This is a truly Hawaiian neighborhood so don't expect resort-like conditions. We stayed here for one month and while we experienced some problems with the house it was pretty minor stuff. Didn't ever lock the doors as the neighborhood is safe it just gets noisy toward morning. Loved the pond and the owners have a very friendly dog. We visited during very pleasant weather. For a summertime stay though there really needs to be a couple more window air conditioners for the other two bedrooms. The fans don't quite get them cool enough to sleep comfortably.

secret side of the island
away from the touristy side of the island. Quiet town, near Waimea Canyon and 2 blocks from the beach. Great place to chill and watch the sunrise or set. Wonderful stay. Debra was there for any questions or needs we had. She gave us a tip to go to Salt Pond beach...that was our favorite beach! Highly recommend this place.

A great place to slow down in a wonderful residential area. Two blocks from the ocean. Wonderful breeze. Just a well furnished, cozy hideaway. The koi pond is sweet, too.

Work Trip to Kauai
Debra was a very pro-active host who responded quickly to all request. The home was very relaxing, off the main road and the Koi Pond provided additional tranquility. She notified me early that the house was vacant and ready and I could check in at anytime. Just and overall excellent stay with an amazing host and property. Definitely in my saved list for future visits to Kauai.

Great location, great host
We choose this location, being relatively close to Waimea Canyon. It was perfect, in location. We arrived on Thanksgiving with food to cook and there was enough kitchen objects in the kitchen to cook our simple dinner. Like many homes in Hawaii this is a single wall construction, and open air. It has air co You can hear Kauai chickens in the distance, and if you listen carefully you can hear the ocean at night. We walked to the ocean at night, stepped black sand beach, And gazed at at am amazing dark sky with stars we can never see and the milkyway visble. There's a super friendly quiet dog who greets you.
