We could not have been happier with our stay. The house was better than expected. There were multiple upgrades completed to the house to our surprise. The greatest surprise was the outdoor shower. It is HUGE and had hot water. The house has 3 bedrooms: 1 queen, 1 full and a bedroom with a set of full bunkbeds. The bedroom with the queen has a bathroom attached, which was a lovely bonus. My favorite attraction was the screened in porch. My family spent so much time there as we were protected from the late night bugs and afternoon storms. Though this house is not "beach front" you truly have a 50ft walk until you reach the beach board walk. I have been to OBX 5 times. This was by far the nicest beach we've ever experienced. Overall, I can't say enough great things about Tidewatch. The owners were so kind and always let it be known that they were there for anything that we needed. I highly recommend this stay and cannot wait to get back:)

We loved our first trip to Avon! Super easy access to the beach. Really enjoyed the top deck views and the screen porch was the best! Kitchen was well equipped and had a great seating area for dining and family game night. However, the master bedroom has a very hard mattress and the living room furniture wasn't super comfortable for lounging with family. Overall, great stay! Would definitely stay here again.

Our week was extremely chilly and wind between 30-40 mph most every day, and rain a couple of days. The house was great except for 2 things. It would have been nice to have hot water in the outdoor shower, and the living room furniture is very uncomfortable. Since the weather was so bad, we spent more time indoors than we normally would have and comfortable furniture would have been a plus. Overall the location of the house is great and the house is very well stocked with all your necessities.

The property is clean and comfortable. The ability to hose off the sand before entering was a great plus! The proximity to attractions is convenient but not crowded. The outside porch is fun but there is no water view to speak of. The walk to the beach was short and easy. We were disappointed that there were no beach chairs and only one small umbrella for beach amenities.

This was a great house with just a short walk to the beach and a longer walk to shops and restaurants. The house was clean and well decorated. It was just my wife and me, but we could have brought the family comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped. Overall, perfect for us.

I was so pleasantly surprised with this property! My first impression was great because it was so clean. Our family of 6 had plenty of space inside and out. We enjoyed the screened porch immensely as well as the rooftop deck. The kitchen had everything I could imagine. After the short trips to the beach we never had to worry about sand in the house because of the outdoor pre-shower rinse then enclosed/private shower. The street is quiet and the neighbors are so polite. I would highly recommend!

Our family loves staying at the Tidewatch!! It is has a small cottage feel with a lot of character. It is only one driveway away from the entrance to the beach. Avon is a quaint little town and very quiet. At the end of the street is a Dairy Queen and coffee shop. About 1.5 miles down the road is the Avon Pier with shops nearby, and a Farmers Market on Tuesdays. The local Food Lion is the only grocery store, but has everything you might need during your stay (about a 5 minute drive from the house). Buxton is about15 minutes away with good restaurants, cute shops, miniature golf, and the Hatteras Lighthouse. The house has a fully stocked kitchen, so we made most of our meals. Our days were spent on the beach and at the house, and the evenings sitting on the rooftop deck while enjoying the island breeze and sound of the waves. Last year during our August stay, we encountered virtually no mosquitoes, but this year there were A LOT of mosquitoes. Definitely bring bug spray for the evenings just in case! The Tidewatch has a wonderful screened in porch, so we utilized that porch a lot more during our visit this year and were super grateful to have it!! We had one minor maintenance issue that popped up, and the homeowners were very responsive and eager to get the problem fixed. We very much appreciated their responsiveness and great communication!! If you are looking for a low-key relaxing spot, this is a great place for a quiet vacation on a beautiful beach!! We will definitely rent the Tidewatch again!!

Great week! House was perfect for our family and very comfortable

Floors were filthy, mold behind shower fixtures, mold and heavy dust on and around ceiling vents, counters were sticky with sand mixed in.

Wonderful property. Really close to walkway over the dune to beach. Great stocked kitchen and beds were comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay!

Stephanie and David were great at communicating with us. The property was perfect. It had a washer and dryer which made returning home with clean laundry a huge plus! The proximity to the beach was perfect and the neighborhood made it safe to leave things on the beach for several hours for breaks in the day from the beach. The home was the perfect size with lots of outdoor places to sit and relax. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. It was the best beach house we've stayed at over the last 4 years!

We love are stay. The home was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Love the deck and screened in porch. Beach was close and easy to walk too. Close to shops, restaurants, and grocery store. We love it! Had a great time.

My boyfriend and I loved staying at the tide watch. We were the first or second group to stay here in June 2021 after the renovations were finished so everything was brand new for us! If you want quiet and comfortable with a spouse, small family or another couple or two this is the perfect spot for you! VERY close to the beach entrance and very affordable, even for just us two! And the house is equipped with a full/up to date kitchen. We brought a small tv with us for the bedroom. But we spent most of our time at the beach, screened in porch, and upper deck! I wish we could have booked for this summer but it is already filled! Hopefully in 2023 we will be able to return! It’s hard to find something similar with the same feel, convenience, and price! Also communicating with the property owners was excellent! And the neighbors had nothing but good things to say about them! Definitely can’t wait to be able to stay here again!

Enjoyed our experience! The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The property was very clean. The outdoor shower was very private relaxing.

The property was well maintained although the bathroom was not clean and we had to clean it when we arrived. Also the vents in the ceiling are in need of a good cleaning as well. Other than that, everything was awesome!

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Tidewatch!! The listing was exactly as described and everything was as noted in the reviews. The area is very quiet, which is exactly what we wanted. The house was clean with a well-stocked kitchen. It was just enough space for our family of four. The communication from the owners was very good, and they were very helpful with questions. We have booked again for next year!

A couple hazards that might need to be addressed: super slick top deck. Couldn't use it. Beds hard as could be. Would go back if they were softer. Outlets in laundry room exposed, cover broken. Touching with wet hands could be shocking!Otherwise, great little place.

We loved how close the house is to the ocean. The upper deck is amazing. We spent a lot of time up there. However, the beds weren’t very comfortable and there wasn’t any privacy as every sound traveled through the house. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Tidewatch is newly renovated inside and outside with thoughtful appointments and amenities. The kitchen was very well stocked. They even had bday candles and matches in the utility drawer which we had forgotten from home. Everything in the house is new and works well. The neighbors were all terrific and the beach access is only 50 paces off of the driveway. The upper deck offered a beautiful view of the ocean and the ocean waves could be heard at all times from the screened in porch, which is where we hung out and played cards on our one rainy day. We will rent Tidewatch again.

My husband and a few friends stayed for a week in October. It is great for a small family or small group. The place really feels like a home, without being crowded with stuff. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedrooms are nice. There is a large screened-in porch and other outdoor seating options on the small deck outside the kitchen and the roof deck. It is very close to the beach and access is a house away. Fabulous place. I would definitely rent again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this VRBO in Avon!! The place was clean, spacious, and is actually renovated since the pictures posted. The owners were very easy to contact and we had no problems whatsoever during our week's stay. The walk to the beach was such a plus and we were in a nice and quiet street but still close enough to get to coffee shops/groceries/food. We had two pups with us who also enjoyed their stay!

Nice quiet street with quick access to the beach. Property was comfortable and the property manager was quick to address some maintenance call outs we had.
