House was fabulous! Loved the location very close to Potrero beach!😎 we rented 2 golf carts from ECCR. Easy & fun way to get to many areas. Christelle is a wonderful property manager! She was so helpful from booking of house to organizing taxi & suggestions for tours!

Our stay here was perfect in every way. The pictures don’t do it justice. Just a few steps away from the beach and very close to restaurants, grocery & more. Playa Flamingo is also just a 5-10 min drive away but we preferred the relaxing, calmer water of Playa Potrero, the beach you see in the photos. This is THE location for perfect sunsets. Also a very cool little restaurant about 5 min walk down the beach called Las Brisas. The house was very clean with a great setup for our group. Loved having a king size bed and bathroom for every room. Also felt very secure with the electronic gate and alarm system. Communication with Christelle was easy with WhatsApp & Sylvia, the housekeeper ensured our arrival, departure and cleaning were flawless.

This place exceeded our expectations. The location is excellent with great restaurants very close but the best part was the beach. It's clean and quiet and so close that you can listen to the waves at night. The top "crows nest" area is wonderful for looking at the ocean and listening to the wildlife especially in the morning or at sunset. And the pool is kept immaculate by Benito the gardener who cleans it early in the morning. The beds in every room were so comfortable we didn't want to leave them. Well appointed kitchen great dinning area. We can't wait to come back. Christelle and Chan are awesome and will bend over backwards to make sure you have a perfect stay.

The property was in a good location, far enough away from the congested areas and close enough to the necessities. The home was clean and the maid was very pleasant. Unfortunately, our flight did not land on time due to lightning and weather and we arrived at the home much later than previously mentioned to the property manager. If you plan to stop and grab some supplies or lunch before driving the hour to the home I would suggest informing the manager of a later arrival time, as the maid will be waiting for you to arrive. Con is that the home does not have a contactless entry upon arrival.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at this property. Everything was as described and actually the photos don’t do it justice. A quick walk to the beach and to town where you find groceries and amazing restaurants. Highly recommend!!!

The process was warm and professional from beginning to end. The Manager, Christelle, introduced us to Erick who organized drivers/guides for us. We saw and learned so much from them. It was a perfect house for a intergenerational family. Five stars all atound.

We had a very pleasant experience. Christelle was very helpful several times including getting taxis, scheduling required Covid test for our return trip, scheduling a massage, fixing something that wasn’t working properly, and answering questions. She did her best to make us feel welcome and what we needed. The house is very much like advertised. We felt safe there and had the beach close by. Some things we wish... 1) That the beach was a little cleaner (not the fault of the property or manager). 2) That we were closer to activities. All excursions were 30 minutes to 2 hours away. The airport was an hour too and cost over $100 by taxi (again, not the fault of the property). 3) That there was a bigger supermarket (grocery store) nearby. There was a little market, but it was limited. (Not the fault of the property) 4) That there were some board games, books, balls, sand toys on location. (They DID have kayaks and pool floats for use, which was nice.) 5) That communication initiation had come a little sooner with details for the trip (but she did respond when we promoted). Overall it was worth it and a very nice time.

We were a group of 7 friends that wanted a beautiful place, great beach, easy access to restaurants and a place to just unwind. This was our place. Saiora, the property manager was wonderful. Whenever we had questions, she was most helpful. Benito and Sylvia were great property caretakers. This place was everything we wanted. Miss it already! Pura Vida!

Wonderful people (cleaner, gardener/pool/security person); very helpful property mgr. great location steps to beach which is clean safe and sparsely peopled. House has 3 levels of decks/patio full kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms. Everything works and is clean and current. Highly recommend for everyone; can sleep 8 no problem probably more. Safe area but good security for house anyway.

We just spent a week at Casa Cerca Del Mar and had an absolutely fantastic experience! We were three families, including three children, and the villa is set up perfectly to provide privacy for each family while also offering numerous communal areas, like the amazing pool in the beautiful garden, and the lovely large living area where we congregated for meals, drinks and lots of games. Highlights included the extra special rooftop - the villa’s “crow’s nest” - where we spent many happy hours enjoying cocktails, surrounded by the sounds of exotic birds and even howler monkeys! - while looking out at a phenomenal view of the beach. Which brings me to the best part of the villa - the fantastic beach literally seconds away- a gorgeous secluded sandy spot with warm calm waves, perfect for our young children who spent hours playing in the water and building sandcastles. We could walk to yoga class in the morning, and to local restaurants along the beach and in the small but quaint town. We felt lucky to be in this part of Costa Rica that felt like a little hidden secret. The villa’s staff was wonderful, including Saioa who readily answered all my questions in the lead-up to our trip and the wonderful Benito who took great care of the garden and pool during our stay. Improvements could be made, but they were minor: a more fully stocked kitchen (there was no cooking oil for example) and more towels but generally we were very pleased with our villa! All in all, an incredible week. Highly recommended! We hope to return one day!

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Cerca del Mar! The house was well equipped, plenty of space for a family of five (with three college age kids) and the back yard pool space was beautiful - we enjoyed relaxing, watching the birds and various iguanas. Centrally located - we visited Tamarindo, and Flamingo and enjoyed many visits to Playa Potrero, enjoyed ATVing with Costa Rica Wet and Wild and took a fun catamaran sailing ride with Panache sailing. Even took in a sunset on the water with the ocean kayaks! Multiple supers (markets) near by, many restaurants within walking distance. If looking to visit Guanacaste, the Casa Cerca del Mar comes highly rated!

Casa Cerca del Mar is a perfect vacation headquarters for a family. Four bedrooms with 4 bathrooms, good gathering places, a pool, and close proximity to the beach, activities, and restaurants make for fun times.

We had such a nice time at this house. We were traveling with four small children (under the age of 8) and my parents. We all loved the house. This house is less than a minute walk to Playa Potrero (which is a very calm beach) and a short drive to a bunch of other awesome beaches (Playa Conchal, Playa Flamingo, Penca Beach etc). There are a bunch of good restaurants nearby (we especially liked La Forketta and the Beach House). Saioa was super helpful in helping us plan activities (we used Justin / Wet and Wild and had a great time) and answering questions. The house itself is fantastic - very comfortable, nice showers, beds, good air conditioning, strong WiFi etc. Our kids loved the pool and played in it for hours. We would definitely stay here again.

Everyone great

From the beginning we knew this would be an epic stay. Tom was so communicative and responsive. The house looks exactly as advertised. And Tom, yes the house has a couple of pool toys and we left a few more behind for others. Playa Potrero is a sleepy town with just enough activity. A pizza place that delivers (La Forketta), a local bar, grocery store and a fish market all within walking distance. We could ask for nothing more. Saioa was easy to get in touch with throughout our stay. The pool is small, so no diving, but still a great way to cool down after a day gifting waves. My only wish was that there were sight lines from the house so we could see the kids in the pool while inside. We hope to return.

The house was great and Benito and Siaoa were so helpful. The local food was delicious. So glad we rented a golf cart, it made getting to the various beach really easy.

We had such a good time at this wonderful house. We are a family of 8 ranging in age from 71 to 8. It was important to get a house with a pool, plenty of bedrooms and baths and close to the beach. We couldn't have had a better choice. All the help--Saoia, Isabel and Ernesto--were terrific. They made the stay so easy with all their help. The sunsets from the crow's next were "to die for". Special moments included sailing with Annie at the Sailing Center (she's darling and so proficient), a birthday cake from the French bakery for grandson's birthday and chocolate making at the chocolate factory. We rented two golf carts from Michelle instead of a car and got everywhere we wanted with little effort. We cooked in for breakfast and some dinners but spent lunches out at various beaches. The kitchen is well equipped. Note to Tom--we could have used a flat baking /cookie sheet but, other than that, we found every thing we needed. The adult "big boys" used the kayak and the little ones loved digging in the sand and making a sand "trap" for someone to step in. Fortunately, it wasn't disguised well! Only disappointment...no monkey sightings! Apparently, the Monkey Farm doesn't have them any more. We would love to come back for a return stay. Thanks again to everyone there.

We had a lovely and relaxing 2 weeks in Potrero. Saioa the on site manager of the property was wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful. She was there to greet us when we arrived and thereafter always ready to assist when we had any questions. Sylvia cleaned and changed all linens twice a week and Benito was there every day to clean the pool and look after the gardens on the property, We enjoyed early morning walks on the beach and great sunsets in the evening. The house was perfect for us, we are 4 women friends who needed a sunny vacation, time together and some relaxation. The kitchen was well equipped which was great as we all like to cook. The Merkdo a small French Supermarket , Super Wendy's a Costa Rican supermarket and a wonderful vegetable market were all well stocked with the things we like to eat and cook and all within walking distance of the house. There were also a variety of restaurants within walking distance. We were surprised that there was no recycling offered given that Costa Rica prides itself on this. A great holiday!

There were 8 family members on this trip. Oldest ones in 70s and youngest 9. The house was beautiful and perfect for all of us with our own rooms and baths. Best was the pool for afternoon relaxation after visiting the beautiful beaches in the area. We rented 2 golf carts giving us freedom to go when and where we wanted. Driving on the road was easier than expected. Drivers here are confident and considerate. Saioa was very helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. She also recommended Eder our driver who was very reliable for airport transportation or tours. Best beach was Conchal the shell beach. Harder to get to but worth the walk from Playa Brasilito. So many good places to eat even within walking distance of the house. We liked Lucie’s a lot. Took a river boat tour. Very fun with monkeys coming on the boat to visit and crocks up close. Also catamaran sunset tour... a highlight. So much more to do. Six days not enough. Loved Costa Rica. Felt very safe during our two weeks here. Ticos are very friendly people. Pura Vida! Saioa!

What an amazing property! We can’t say enough about our time here! The home is more than beautiful and such a great proximity to everything. Everyone enjoyed their privacy as well as together time here! The property manager, Sajoia was so very accommodating and bent over backwards for us to ensure all of our needs were met. The gardener/pool maintenance man Buenito paid great attention to detail - very nice guy! Our one suggestion would be safes in everyone’s room - 1 safe was a bit of a pain at times. Definitely will be going back to Petrero and this beautiful property!

Our family of seven adults enjoyed a wonderful week at Casa Cerca del Mar. We were all very comfortable with our own bedrooms and bathrooms. We did do some cooking at the house and found the kitchen well stalked with all of the necessities. We loved the water view from the upper decks for morning coffee and evening cocktails and sunset. The pool is a great addition surrounded by pretty gardens. Set back just one house the house is easy walking distance to the beach. The house manager, cleaning staff and gardener were all great. Playa Potrero is a great place to spend the day or to explore other nearby towns and beaches including Tamarindo, Flamingo, Danta and Playa Conchal. We were always happy to return to sleepy Potrero which offered just enough in dining options that were with in walking distance or a very short drive. Our favorite was Surfbox which I highly recommend. It was a wonderful vacation in a country of beautiful scenery, beaches and gracious people. We will be back!

Casa Cerca del Mar is a lovely property and our group of five enjoyed our stay. The house and grounds, the kitchen well equipped, all of the beds are comfortable, and the security is more than sufficient. The property manager, Saioa, is helpful and willing to help set up tours and offer information on local services. We would absolutely stay here again!

Casa Cerca del Mar was wonderful. The house was great. Clean and everything was in great condition. The pool was great. Our two year old loved being in the pool everyday. Benito takes great care of the grounds. The beach is so close which we loved too. The house had a lot of privacy and security. We had the monkeys visit us twice which was awesome. We had an awesome time. We will be returning to Casa Cerca del mar for sure.
