Very nice, clean and comfortable house with a great bay view. Short drive to the Frisco lifeguarded beach. Only drawback is the proximity to Route 12 if you are not used to traffic noise.

Love the house and the location. Frisco is a beautiful part of OBX. Very convenient beach access, beautiful views of the sound, Very well furnished, overall an excellent experience. It will be our go to house in the future if available..

The house was exactly what we needed and anticipated. Loved the quick access to Ramp 49. The house was clean, had everything we needed, and was overall very comfortable to stay in. Thank you!

We had such a great experience! The house was clean, communication with the host was easy, and the location was everything (and more) than we had hoped! If you have furry friends it’s the perfect accommodation for them too! We loved walking down the board walk to the sound and watching the sunset from the back porch. We were sad to leave but we can’t wait to come back!

Our second year in OBX in same house and we loved our time there! We stayed for two weeks because one is just not enough time to unplug and relax. Our kids came down the first week and we had wonderful weather and made great memories. This house is so comfortable with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for six people. My husband and I stayed the second week and explored more of Hatteras. Went shopping, kayaking, and went out to dinner a couple nights. We had a wonderful vacation this year!!!!

Next best thing to a first row house. Right on the sound. Sunsets over the water. 5 star view with big sliding doors leading out to decks off the living room up top and bedrooms below. Sheets to cover furniture for the dog. Oversized washer was perfect for beach towels. Plenty of hot water.
Some things we wished we’d known: house is next to the main drag. Cars fly by at 45+mph (noisy at certain times of day and I didn’t feel good sending even my teens ahead to the beach alone). The walk to the beach was 6-8 mins with all the stuff. Closest access point was at the end of Hatterask Drive. Crowsnest at the top was closed to renters. Bring your own: hand soap, tp, paper towels, dish soap, trash bags, dish scrubby, beach towels, and all beach gear. Bring everything. The few beach items in the shed are pretty trashed. The boardwalk down to the sound is impassable so the kayak available will mock you. The hardest part for us was the beds and pillows were not comfortable. There were a few maintenance issues but owner was super. Overall a great house with responsive owner. With a few upgrades such as bigger comfortable beds, quality sheets, towels, shower curtains, and some details that really make your stay such as a few days worth of supplies, cooking oil, crab leg / lobster shell cracker, this house could be another level. We had a great week. Food highlight was the Harbor House Seafood Market where you can bring home local steamed shrimp and other seafood with all the fixings.

There is no access to the sound. Please allow access to the sound from the property and cut bushes to enter the sound to use a kajak. thank you

The place is nice but not exactly as described. You can’t get to the sound from the walkway out from the house. It’s too grown up and would need a chainsaw. It also stated there was a spa tub. There was no such thing. Other than that it was fine.

We have 3 boys, 13, 18, and 21. For the first time we let them all bring a friend and brought our dog Lucy with us. The house was lovely! The kitchen was well stocked. We are late almost every mean in. We had plenty of room! The sound sunset views were AMAZING! We chose to drive to the very close Frisco beach access every day that had bathrooms and showers. The beach there was incredible & had plenty of room & life guards. Highly recommend!!!

The house was very clean and the views are amazing! We managed to catch the sunset every night. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we could possibly need and the beds were very comfy! A great place to stay and we will definitely return!

My extended family rented three houses within a block or so, and six of us stayed in Tern Inn. After the rest of the family went home after the first week, five of us stayed a second week at Tern Inn, and that of course was the best week. 😀
The house is very comfortable, with plenty of light, and a great view of sunsets every day. It’s an easy walk to the beach, which we did every day. The house was spotless when we arrived, and it was easy to keep clean, with an outdoor shower that got heavy use, and cleaning supplies already stocked. The dog door on the deck was a great touch, which made it much easier to get ready to head out and to come back while juggling a dog.
I know it’s not the part that’s advertised or has any pictures, but I thought that the tall grass behind the house was just gorgeous, waving in the wind. We had a great trip this year and we can’t wait to come back again. Five stars!

We truly enjoyed our family vacation in Frisco. Communication with owner was immediate and very helpful. House was so clean and comfortable and has spectacular views of the sound and sunsets! Appliances are new and we felt at home in the kitchen. Access to beach is a short walk across the street. Our week went by way too fast!

The house was beautiful and was conveniently located to some of our favorite places! My only 2 complaints was some of the lights leading outside did not work and made taking the dogs out at night a challenge. My husband changed the one to front door so it would work and that helped! The other was we found alot of black hair on some of the sheets when we were making the beds and had to rewash them before making them up. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay!

Hatteras throwback
We hadn’t been to Hatteras in years! We had a great week, weather was good, very windy, but kept things cool and cut down on the bugs! The house was nice, just as described and the beds were comfy. We had everything we needed to cook, as we did most meals at the house! Location is great too, right near the beach ramp to drive out to the beach. The sound was beautiful, the walk to get there was a bit overgrown, that would be my only recommendation is to have the path weedeated a bit, but we made it through almost daily to let the pups swim and once you got down there it was quite lovely! Thanks for an awesome week!

Tern Inn
This house is wonderful, it's close to the Frisco beach access so 4x4 on the beach was a breeze. Close to many good restaurants and stores if you need them. The house has plenty of room, there was 4 of us and if you wanted to get away it was not a problem. The view of the sound was fantastic.

From check - in to check out everything was perfect. It was clean, comfortable and very close to all my favorite restaurants. The deck provides a view of the breathtaking sunset or a quick game of Uno. The beach is a quick walk across the street and the outdoor shower is so refreshing. We can’t wait to come back!

Upon arrival, we were thrilled to see how clean and spacious the home was and perfectly met our needs for our family of 4 plus our dog, but the home could definitely accommodate more a few more people. This home had everything we needed for our stay and was so comfortable. We loved the walkway behind the house out to the sound and explored it upon arrival. It was an awesome spot to watch the sunsets and we also enjoyed the sunsets from the top deck of the house. Beach access is just a short walk away and the beaches here are so nice! On days that it was a bit chilly to sit out on the beach, we explored the island all the way up to Duck as this was our first trip to the Outer Banks. The neighbor town of Buxton had restaurants, a supermarket and cute shops that were just a short drive away. Overall, we loved our relaxing vacation, would definitely recommend this property and hope to return again someday!

Perfect beach home and great location! Highly recommend and plan to stay again. The host was wonderful about staying in touch as we got closer to the trip. Beautiful views, short walk to the beach, quiet and close to everything we needed.

Late September trip with our Westie
We have been going to Hatteras since 1969, camping or renting a house as we got older. We watched this house being built.. Beautiful views of the sound and kite surfers when the wind is blowing (most of the time). It was wonderful on the rainy day to watch the storm move across the sound and the wind ripple the tall rushes growing to the sound. The sheets for the furniture in the living room were great for our dog., the furniture was very comfortable and the bed was great. Even though you are on Route 12, you don't hear the traffic and feel like you have your own private view on the sound. We were only a couple but the house is well equipped for a full crew with ROKU in each bedroom and 2 1/2 baths. We hit Buxton Munch and Hatteras Harbor Deli for lunch, and Risky Business and Buxton Seafood for ingrediants for Shrimp, Scallops and Grouper dinners for which the kitchen is well equipped. Great time, great views, great memories.

Great location, spectacular sunsets!
We found the property very clean but dated. Appliances were usable but broken and taped. Could not open all sliders, screens missing or the rollers broken on bottom of doors. The location however was perfect, area restaurants so good!!! With repairs/updating we would give a 5

This property is has a great location close to the beach and sound with million dollar views. There were a couple things that needed to be repaired when we were there, but it we appreciated being able to bring our pets and had a wonderful time.
