We enjoyed our 5 day stay at the Banyan Harbor Resort. The view of Nawiliwili Harbor, Kalapaki Beach, and the surrounding mountains were simply beautiful.

The property is centrally located, making it easy to get to places. The down side is the noisy roosters and getting linens exchanged. Other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Great last minute stay. Excellent service, condo well equipped and exceptionally clean. Only drawback was all the stairs!

Excellent location, facilities, amenities, and very helpful staff. Only complaint was that sofa bed was very uncomfortable to both sit and to sleep on. Would definitely stay again!

My spouse and I stayed here with our two friends. The size of the condo was perfect for our little group and the location was pretty central to where we wanted to go on the island. The view of the harbor was nice, and overall this was a great place for what we needed.

Nice, clean accommodations which were convenient and comfortable.

The only experience that was a bit inconvenient was the fire three units from us. They were going to accommodate us with another room but we were able to stay in the same room for our last night.

I have stayed at several Banyan Harbor VRBO's previously. This particular one was average at best. I had no communication with the property owner at all prior to by arrival, which was fine, however, other property owners were far more proactive. When I checked in I was a bit surprised by the amount of the additionaltaxes and fees. I was confused as I thought I had already paid all the fees associated with the rental. For reference, I already paid the cost of the daily rental, plus taxes, plus a service fee and plus a PROPERTY fee. I was very respectful when I asked the concierge to explain the additional fees. To be clear, the taxes and fees totaled almost doubled in cost on top of the nightly room rate. The concierge was unable to explain and attempted to contact the property owner without success. Now, to be fair, the posting on VRBO does say "be aware that the front desk will collect Amenity fees and Hawaii GET tax," however, there is no indication how much that will be. Also, the "property fees" added to the VRBO checkout are very misleading. This was my question to the concierge. All I wanted to make sure is that I wasn't double paying for the "property fees" I had already paid. The concierge was very nice and ended up eliminating the amenity fees (which I did not ask her to do). The property owner, Nancy Giannini, however, took it upon herself to send a condescending email. Which, by the way was the ONLY communication I had with her at all. She said, "I understand you got upset at the front desk for the taxes that Hawaii charges. These taxes are not included in VRBO. It is clearly stated in the description under properties that HI get tax and amenity fees will be collected. Krystal informed me that she refunded you the amenity fees which was very gracious of her because you were upset. There is no need to take it out on her. I hope you get the Hawaii aloha." Well, I was not upset. I did not "take in out" on anyone. I simply and respectfully asked about the fees to ensure I wasn't paying twice. Although Ms. Giannini's rental property suited our needs, I would not recommend you rent her property. Compared to other condos I rented at the Banyan Harbor, It is bare bones. That in combination with Ms. Giannini's singular and discourteous communication leads me to believe she is not an attentive host. All in all, the property was fine but her comments were not appreciated.

This was are second time booking at the Banyan and to be honest the condo looked exactly the same as the one we rented before (tbh it might have been the same one). It's not a luxury condo, but there is the salt water pool and it's the perfect location to visit all the cool places (we try to hit every beach to snorkel during the week). Washer/Dryer is in the unit which makes it very convenient to not have to lug wet clothes back to the airport and as always we leave a supply of detergent for the next guest coming in..

I’ve been renting through Banyan Harbor all my staycation but the only problem is Dryer wasn’t hot enough to dry my laundry and I’ve always had this problem in all my staycation with you folks. Otherwise everything was good. My next staycation, I’m hoping for the building K because the scenery is better, closer to pool & no need deal with climbing 29-30 stairs like my last stay here.

Only dislike was the refrigerator made a noise all night long. So person sleeping on couch should be a hard sleeper. Also when renting we missed the part about resort fees. Our fault even though we didn't use any because we were all seniors. Enjoyed our stay.

The location of the resort was just right. We had access to shopping centers, farmers market, and beaches within minutes of the resort.

We were only there for 5 nights. Good location. The room was basic, not a “resort” type which we knew ahead of time but served our need for a place to sleep.

Pros: -spacious -clean -AC works well -location nearby Lihue and airport without traffic congestion -helpful front desk staff -good parking -plenty of dishes and utensils Cons: -No bathroom fans -stair to access -loud roosters middle of the night -lack of view not well characterized in pics -online pics removed weeks before stay eliminating ability to continue to view accommodations after reserving Notes: -more like hotel than condo-minimal food miscellaneous on hand like most condo stays

We stayed for 7 nights at this property. Overall it's a good stay, but I were to do it again, I would stay somewhere else. For a 2-bedroom condo, this is one of the best priced properties in Kauai. Location is convenient. It's 5 min from the airport. It's close to the commercial center in Lihue, 5 min to Costco and Safeway. I chose this location so I don't have to change lodging and it's about an hour to north shore or the west side. There is even a mountain/ocean view. But it does overlook a dumpster and then a port with cargo containers in front of the ocean view. It's weird view. Pros: I like the 2 story setup, bedrooms are upstairs with 1 full bath, living room and kitchen downstairs with a half bath. There is a sofa bed, so it can sleep 6. Washer/dryer in the condo is super convenient. Having a kitchen is great. Not so great due to covid: There was supposed to be snorkel gear that we can borrow, but that is not available. Not a huge problem, we ended up renting gear from Snorkel Bob. Check-in process is a longer, they want to check our TravelSafe QR code. I happen to have kept that page on the phone, so it was easy to retrieve. Some folks had internet connection issues and was really struggling to pull the QR code, and created a long line at the reception. Kauai does a better job than the rest of the Hawaiian islands managing covid risk. But I am not sure what the purpose of this is since we've all gone through the checks upon entering Hawaii. What can be improved: I didn't know at the time of booking that there is separate property manager on site. This is great. But I wish it was stated in the description of the property or communicated by the property owner. I was expecting to receive checkin instructions ahead of time. Not getting response from the owner, I had to call Banyan Harbor to find out there will be someone to check me in. Just think it's easy to put in the description to reduce confusion. It's a good stay. But looking back, I should have taken others' advice to split the stay between Princeville and Poipu. Or at least stayed at Kapaa if not splitting. It'll be somewhat more expensive, but those locations have a much better resort ambience.

Great place for a great price, my friends and I enjoyed our stay here while we explored the island for several days.

This condo was pretty good overall. The bedrooms were comfortable, and it had a well equipped kitchen and handy washer and dryer in the upstairs bathroom. The after hours staff was very friendly and accommodating when we had to check in late. A few minor downsides: no elevator in building, and bedroom outlets were too few and some were in bad condition.

Decent location. 6 he time limit built info the air conditioners. Pretty low quality. Wouldn’t stay again.

It is in a resort with many such units. The unit looks updated, was large enough for our family of 5, a kitchen with all we needed. There is a free pool on site that is not very busy, and the place let’s you borrow equipment for snorkeling if you don’t have your own. Kiki in the front desk is very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The price is really good for such a unit. Highly recommend

We had a 2 bedroom unit in the Banyan Harbor that was very dated with green carpeting. It was clean but not particularly inviting and you need a car because the location isn't really close to restaurants or food shopping. On the positive side, the pool was nice. We were disappointed that the owner/manager didn't give us any details about the place, not even the address, until the very last minute. Usually VRBO owners send you detailed information well in advance of one's stay. The staff at the office were helpful. But, for the price, and the extra resort fees, we would not stay there again.

To be clear, the condo that we stayed in was nice and the staff at Banyan Harbour were friendly and very accommodating. However, I am extremely disappointed in the property owner, Stacey. Due to an evening arrival, we arrived late at night to the resort and security was there to help check us in. The guard couldn’t find our reservation and thankfully put us in a vacant room so that our 3 & 1 year olds could go to bed. I immediately messaged Stacey to see what unit we were supposed to be in and confirm that our reservation would be honored. I got no response. The next morning when the office opened, we went to see what the issue was. They had no details on our arrival and when I mentioned who our property owner was, the person helping us knew Stacey and implied that this was not the first time something like this had happened. Again, I messaged Stacey to ask for an explanation and never got a response. I’m very thankful that the staff allowed us to stay there so that our vacation wasn’t ruined but I give none of that credit to Stacey. Needless to say, I will not be staying here again now would I recommend to any of my friends to stay here either.

This is a great place, especially for the price. It has everything you need in the kitchen. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Parking is great and it's a very short walk to the beach. There are also several good restaurants withing walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the property for two weeks. Check in and out was easy. Friendly staff and Kiki is wonderful at the front to help get Day trips planned. Would stay again with location to everything. Condo had everything we needed and was cleaned 3 days a week. Very spacious.

Following our four night stay in Hilo, we ventured north to Kauai. What a beautiful island, and our condo at Banyan Harbor was perfect for our requirements. Within walking distance to nearby bars, restaurants and shops, the resort was well located. Comfortable, clean and quiet, we were extremely happy with our accommodation. The booking process was a little laborious, however. There was no option to pay online, and due to the time difference (Australia to Hawaii), we had to play phone tag a few times before I finally made payment. There are so many simple options to collect payment securely online these days - it would have been so much easier had there been an option to pay by PayPal or another method. Regardless, once we arrived, we could not have been happier with the service provided by the staff. Kiki, the concierge, was so helpful in planning our tours and taxis, and the front desk staff were polite and helpful. Kauai was truly the highlight of my 10 day visit to Hawaii - beautiful scenery, great people. We took a day tour with the Roberts Movie Tour - pretty much a tour of the whole island. Even if you're not a movie buff, the scenery is spectacular! And make sure you make more than one visit to Duke's Bar at Kalapaki Bay! Great service, great food! Also took a zipline tour. Loved it! If I'd have known how beautiful Kauai really was, I would have stayed longer. Definitely a place to go back to!
