Absolutely stunning and amazing views from every angle. Located at the end of a peaceful road good for walking youre just a couple minutes from big river beach and mendocino. This property ia conveniently located and has a wonderful story We enjoyed cooking from the house and relaxing after a morning of hiking. The home was immaculate It does have a charcoal bbq to cook on as well. I think my only suggestion would be a bit more light on the grass area to potty dogs after dark...there very well could be a light and i couldn't find it lol 😆 We found a new home away from home

The architecture and the views are stunning. Our long weekend was a celebration of birthdays for two best friends and we could not have had a better time shopping, exploring, relaxing, and just staring out the giant windows, mesmerized by the gorgeous ocean views. We could not figure out how to close the flue in the primary bedroom, so without a fire in the fireplace, it was a bit drafty. Everything else is well-appointed, although we would have loved to take advantage of the great stereo system; just couldn't figure it out. Bring your own cards, dice, or games. I will definitely be coming back!

The hot tub on the back deck with views of the ocean is amazing. The house has plenty of amenities for a comfortable stay including a well stocked kitchen. The rental company is easy to work with and even left birthday wishes to help make it a special weekend. Only regret that we couldn’t stay longer!

This home was love at first sight for us, a rustic beauty with huge Timbers In the livingroom , a nice kitchen with all you would need to cook whatever you wish,a big deck off the back with a sunken hot tub, and a million dollar view of mendo village in the distance, quiet and peaceful, staying here is a incredible experience, I highly suggest it.

Just a beautiful, peaceful place! We loved the story of building the home using so many recycled materials – windows, floors, beams. Sitting on the deck listening to the ocean is tonic for all everyday cares. We did not have the chance to cook due to the proximity of the town and the wonderful restaurants there, but the kitchen seemed well equipped. Yes, some fixtures are a bit dated but that pales in comparison to the benefits of the beautiful location and the wrap around windows with views of the ocean and town. One thing we would recommend is to download your instructions before you get to town. We had to drive around town to get enough bars to get the instructions to the lockbox, as we arrived after the office closed. Overall, just a spectacular stay in a glorious location.

Stunning location and architectural Gem … Could use some updates to furniture and bedding … but overall a stellar property! We will be back!

The house, however is showing major signs of wear and tear; I've stayed there before in years past and it looks and feels very neglected. Chapman Point is definitely an architectural treasure. It is rustic in that the recycled beams, siding, windows, flooring, as well as some of the furniture that was used in building and furnishing this home are from an earlier time period. There is definitely a WOW factor walking in the door. But, luckily for us, the house is updated and modern so that you can admire the rusticity and still enjoy your stay with everything you need for a comfortable vacation. The house was exactly as described with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, large closets and drawers and bathrooms as described, along with a wood fireplace that is gorgeous in the main bedroom and a pellet stove in living area. This house was spotless and the cleaner was extremely fun and creative with towels in the bathrooms, along with the throw pillows and throws on beds. It just gave you a great feeling about the house being very lovingly cared for. We took advantage of the hot tub regularly even though some of our weather wasn't perfect. The view was so beautiful, reading on one rainy day in front of those huge windows couldn't have been more relaxing. My daughter is a runner and she did her run early every day from the house on beautiful trails. We went up to Noyo Harbor in Ft Bragg to get fresh fish at Princess Seafood Company and they also had crab and oysters that week. We ate yummy fish Tacos at Noyo Fish Company several times. The lovely Botanical Garden gave us good exercise on a drizzly day. This is the perfect house to rent in every way. Convenience to restaurants, trails, beaches, shopping and privacy with the way it's laid out--bedrooms and bathrooms on opposite sides of the house. Living areas and main bedroom are very spacious. Our family had a wonderful week at Chapman Point and we highly recommend it to everyone.

From the architecture of the house, to the views from the interior and hot tub, this property has it all. Only minor quibbles are having enough utensils in the kitchen (we seemed to run out of forks regularly) and better lighting in the other bedroom. The stove burners are a little tricky to light. The house is so rustic, cozy and private, and the VIEWS are BEYOND!!! It was just such a treat to wake up every morning, make coffee and look out those GORGEOUS windows at the wild ocean below. We loved the rustic/modern aesthetic of Chapman Point House so much. It was cozy, yet spacious. Warm, but not cluttered. Modern, but not cold. We had such a wonderful time cooking, doing puzzles, watching the rain, listening to Christmas music and taking walks to see the variety of budding mushrooms around the property. Our labradoodle, Fletcher, also loved his stay, as well. He had so much room to roam about inside the house, and loved walking the perimeter of the property with us between rain showers. Oh, the SQUIRRELS! LOL! We hope to return to Chapman Point House again soon! Thank you, Mendocino Preferred, for the wonderful visit!

Wonderful house full of architectural character and big windows framing spectacular views of the coast and Mendocino. The technology worked great (TV, internet, cell service) as did the hot tub. The grounds are well kept and the neighborhood was quiet and convenient to town. Highly recommend.

It is our second time staying here, and the architecture lends itself to enjoying nature whether it be looking out the beautiful windows at the trees or relaxing on the deck overlooking the ocean. We had one complaint, and that is that the hot tub did not work when we arrived, and that was going to be the highlight of our trip. We looked so forward to it. Since we only stayed three nights, we only had two full days, and we had to spend the majority of one of them on the phone and waiting for the hot tub guy to come by twice, so that day was a wash, and we were not refunded for one of our lost days (giving up,our time). We also only got to enjoy the hot tub for one of the days, and it still did not heat up properly. Other than the hot tub issue, everything else was great, and Mendocino Preferred is very responsive. They also have a beautiful welcome when you arrive.
