Enjoyed our stay in Ocean Beach. Great location. Short walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. Cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Back yard is a wonderful place to relax. Host was easy to work with, very responsive. Would stay here again.

There were a few issues with the property. The front door lock had some issues and one of the bedroom windows wouldn’t stay open. Also there is some chipping in the bathtub. Manager was very communicative but I wish those things had been fixed.

Garden cottage was the perfect spot for our short stay in San Diego. It was charming, clean, and had everything we needed to guarantee a relaxing stay. The gardens were stunning and we loved relaxing in the back yard. Rodney was so easy to work with! We are all looking forward to another stay in the future.

Property was great! Comfortable, cozy and had everything we needed. Washer and dryer took a long time to do a load of laundry but got the job done nonetheless. Rodney was responsive to texts and offered up suggestions on dining when asked. No grill or fire pit like listed unless it was tucked away where we didn’t see. Wasn’t important enough to ask about though. Didn’t impact our stay. Ocean beach is nice but it’s a little drive time wise to the nicer beaches for families. Would stay again for sure!

We stayed as a family of 4 and enjoyed the abundant space inside and outside the Farm House. Rustic charm aplenty. Easy to get to and from, whether you come from SLO or Pismo Beach. We had one request during our stay, and Chris the property manager was very responsive. Definitely would recommend a stay at the Old Edna Farm House!

Rodney is the best host I've ever worked with! He is responsive, helped address every concern or need, provided local recommendations, and even helped us after our stay when our travel was delayed due to weather.
The house is great :) It's exactly as pictured and we really enjoyed how bright the space was. We were withing walking distance of nearly everything and even had a view of the water.
Super happy to have stayed and we will definitely stay at one of Rodney's properties again!

This cottage was cozy, clean, and smartly furnished. Our family enjoyed the short walk to Sunset Cliffs and OB. We ventured out every day early to enjoy bagels and coffee in town or breakfast and to enjoy the beach.
The grounds were a succulent paradise and everything felt zen. Our family will remember our time and memories made at the cottage for years to come!

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy beach cottage. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed. The outdoor space was nicely kept and perfect for lounging. The house is located a short walk to the seaside cliffs -- a perfect spot to take in the views of the ocean or get in a scenic walk or jog. The neighborhood is residential and during our stay was quite quiet (you'll hear and see planes passing overhead, but they never bothered us). It's also just a short walk to neighborhood restaurants and a quick drive to groceries, etc. We'd definitely stay here again.

This was the perfect location for our family of four. It was equidistant between two different and unique beach experiences (sandy Ocean Beach and rocks and tidepools at Sunset Cliffs). The backyard garden is a peaceful retreat. Everything is clean and the kitchen is well equipped with utensils, pots, pans, and spices. The beds were very comfortable.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Garden Cottage. Everything we needed was provided in the Garden Cottage. Only a 10 minute walk to restaurants and shopping in Ocean Beach. We would definitely stay at the Garden Cottage again.

House was exactly as described. It’s in a great residential neighborhood close to everything you could need. You can see the ocean from the front yard if you’re tall enough. There’s no AC but plenty of fans available. We happened to be there the hottest week of the summer with a high if 82:). Rodney was very communicative. The house had everything we needed which was helpful since we were there only a few days to visit our daughter. The back yard provided a wonderful spot to work in the morning. The landscaping on the entire property was quite impressive and beautiful. We will definitely stay again when we visit San Diego!

Almost Perfect
Pros:
- Randy is a great communicator and instructions were clear & easy
- Neighborhood & property are beautiful
- House is well supplied including beach gear for kids & adults
- About 15-20 min from downtown, Balboa Park & SD Zoo, Mission Beach
- OB is a fun place to hang out with nice beaches, some surf, lots of great shops & restaurants.
Things to Know
- Don't run the laundry overnight or while home as the machine is very loud
- This is right in the take-off path for the SD airport & flights begin leaving at 6am. The planes are very loud so keep the windows closed & bring earplugs. The sound wasn't bad that way, but the house can be stuffy/warm so use the fans.
- We stayed 4 nights and only found parking on the street twice. Luckily that was when we checked in & out so it was easy to unload/load the car. We were there over July 4th holiday so maybe parking isn't always that bad, but we usually had to park on a cross street.
- The front house is pretty close so depending on the group & their volume you may be able to hear each other with the windows open.
- Suggestion for the house would be to put extension cords behind the bed since there are no nearby outlets.
- The house is beautiful & comfortable, but the bathroom stands out as being outdated & small. Everything works, just don't expect the appearance to match the rest of the house.

Great Ocean Beach Stay
The house was great. There is a cool area behind the house to relax. Kitchen well-stocked. Quality beds and comfortable living room. Sunset Cliffs was a very short walk to enjoy the sunsets. Owner provided boogie boards, chairs and advice on local restaurants. Rodney was excellent in answering my questions and check-in was easy. Hope we can stay again sometime!!!!

Lovely cottage in OB
This is a very sweet cottage located in OB a few blocks away from Sunset Cliffs. The house had everything we needed including a private backyard area to relax and enjoy a morning coffee. The host Rodney is fantastic. We would definitely stay here again for a classic OB experience.

Beautiful Ocean Beach cottage
The Garden Cottage was perfect for a stay in San Diego with our adult son. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The cottage is comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The manager of the property responds immediately to questions by text. We loved its proximity to the beach and great restaurants within walking distance. The sights of downtown and Central San Diego are easily accessible by car. We would love to stay here again!

Terrific cottage in OB!
We loved the Garden Cottage! The cottage was very well-equipped, clean and comfortable for 4 people. We loved the retro, beachy decor and especially enjoyed the comfortable outdoor spaces. The location was also great - a short walk to Sunset Cliffs and to restaurants/breweries. We would highly recommend this cottage for anyone planning to stay in Oceean Beach!

Great location, great for kids
I visited for a long weekend with my kids and we were able to walk everywhere, shop and cook at the cottage, chill in the backyard, use the beach toys, it was perfect. Host was great, thoughtful details made our stay wonderful. Highly recommend

Adorable cottage in Ocean Beach
We loved our stay at the Garden Cottage. The location was perfect, there was consistent street parking next to the home, the cottage was exactly as described on Vrbo, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Good communication with the host throughout the process. The kitchen was well-stocked for those hoping to cook a few meals while away. Easy walk to multiple convenient stores for staples. Tacos at Sunnie's and walks to the beach with a quick stop at OB Donuts should be on your list. We would definitely go back. Thank you!

Garden Cottage was great!
The Garden Cottage was everything we'd hoped for, and more. Plenty of space, well stocked and well appointed with access to a locked storage area with beach chairs, coolers, etc. We hope to return to San Diego soon and would like to stay there if it's available.

Family vacation
Overall the house fit our needs well. Kitchen came in handy and they had a lot of essentials already which made cooking very easy. Being from the east coast we assumed there was AC but there wasn’t. The house would get up to 84 degrees even with fans and all windows open so it made sleeping uncomfortable. My infant and toddler were overly hot and couldn’t nap during the day. The location of the house was great and close by everything. I would also recommend fastening all dressers and tall furniture to the wall since my kids almost got crushed by the dresser that was wobbling and the tall piece of furniture in the living room. My son was in love with the bunk beds and entertained himself going up and down the ladder. Also it was nice to have a high chair and pack n play and set out for us when we got there. Not sure what happened with communication because Rodney said we were going to meet but then we didn’t at check in. I also texted/called a few times when we were trying to figure out the AC situation and he never returned my calls/messages. He did call my husband back after he tried calling too but I don’t think he knew it was us since he didn’t have his contact info and we didn’t leave a message. Overall we did enjoy our stay, but there was just those minor things.
